Summary
Bishop Henry Fernandez explores David's journey in Psalm 51 to demonstrate that failure does not disqualify us from God's plan, provided we seek a restoration of joy and a willing spirit.
Key points
- •Failure is a season, not a permanent disqualification from God's purpose or presence.
- •Repentance must be genuine and honest, moving away from 'image management' and excuses toward personal responsibility.
- •Restoration requires two specific things: the recovery of the joy of salvation and a willing spirit to sustain a lifestyle of revival.
- •Joy is a supernatural source of strength that is independent of material possessions, wealth, or social status.
- •God uses uncomfortable confrontations (like Nathan to David) not to destroy us, but to redeem and call us back to our original purpose.

Identify one area where you have been making excuses for past failures, and pray Psalm 51:12 every morning this week, asking God specifically to renew a 'willing spirit' in you to serve Him regardless of your feelings.
Reflection questions
- In what areas of your life have you allowed failure to leave a scar that you now mistake for your identity?
- David asked for joy rather than the return of his throne or wealth; why is joy more critical for spiritual survival than material success?
- Are you currently serving in the kingdom out of a sense of duty, or has the 'joy of your salvation' faded?
- What are the 'covers' or lies you have used to hide your mistakes, and what would it look like to bring them into the light before God today?

0:00What an amazing song. Amen. Would you
0:00stand for the scripture and then we'll
0:02get you out of here
0:06hopefully on time. Praise Jesus.
0:10Psalm 51 is where I will come from this
0:14morning.
0:16We will actually deal with all 12 verses
0:21of Psalm 51. But I just want to read
0:24verse 12.
0:26It says, "Restore to me the joy of your
0:31salvation and grant me a willing spirit
0:35to sustain me." Now, I read it. I want
0:39you now to read it out loud. Everybody
0:41go read.
0:50>> Father, we thank you for your word
0:52today. May you speak to our hearts.
0:56May the words that we hear today
0:59transform us so that we are revived and
1:04sustained in Jesus' name. Amen. Can we
1:08give the Lord a hand of praise while we
1:11take our seats?
1:16One of the things I love about God is
1:21simply this.
1:23While society may
1:27write off, if you will,
1:31um, people who have repeatedly failed in
1:36life, I want people to understand that
1:39God never ever will he ever write you
1:43off because you have failed.
1:47Instead, what God does, he restores us
1:51when we fail.
1:53And in Psalm 51, we see David is one of
1:57the many references in scripture that
2:00shows us that we can find joy in serving
2:04Jesus Christ even after our biggest
2:07failure.
2:09Today I want to speak from the subject
2:11revived sustained
2:15finding joy after failure.
2:19Finding joy after failure. There are
2:22some of you in this room, some of you
2:24are streaming. You've had some failures
2:26in your life and it's been tormenting
2:30you and you are at a place where you're
2:32feeling less than a man, less than a
2:34woman because society remembers your
2:37failure and you can't seem to get it out
2:40of your head and therefore you're living
2:42beneath your Christian privileges. One
2:46of the biggest misconceptions in the
2:49church is that failure disqualifies
2:52people from God's purpose. I want to say
2:55that again. One of the biggest
2:57misconceptions in the body of Christ is
3:00that failure disqualifies people from
3:03God's presence. But the truth is failure
3:07may leave a scar on you. It may
3:10embarrass you. It may even humble you.
3:14But it does not have to define who you
3:17are.
3:19>> Just because you failed maybe last year,
3:225 years ago, 10 years ago, doesn't mean
3:25that God is through with you doesn't
3:27mean that you cannot succeed again. Some
3:31of God's greatest servants experienced
3:34seasons of failure.
3:36And we tend to forget that. If we read
3:38the Bible, we will see multiple times
3:42people in the in the Bible failed God.
3:45Yet he used them. [clears throat]
3:48>> Abraham lied about Sarah of who she was
3:53to him. Not only that, Abraham struggled
3:57with his temper, if you will. Moses
4:00murdered someone and struck the rock in
4:05anger. [clears throat]
4:06Moses was the guy whose name was in the
4:09system,
4:11the criminal system. And there are many
4:13of you streaming, watching today that
4:16you've done some things in the past.
4:19Maybe you got arrested.
4:21Maybe you did some illegal things and
4:24you're wondering with all the stuff
4:27that's behind your name and what you
4:29have done in for for years, can God use
4:34you? Yes, he can. Elijah ran in fear.
4:38Jonah ran from God's assignment. Peter
4:42denied Jesus how many times? Three
4:45times. The prodigal son, who was, by the
4:49way, a millennial, walked out of the
4:52covering [clears throat]
4:53and provision of his father's house.
4:56And there are many young people watching
4:58me today listening to this sermon.
5:02You have made some mistakes. You have
5:04done things that you're not pleased
5:07with. And you know, God's not pleased
5:09about those things. But I'm telling you,
5:12God can restore you. He did that to all
5:15of these people. Abraham, Moses, Elijah,
5:19Jonah, Peter, and the prodigal son. Yet
5:22God restored them, and he continues to
5:26use them.
5:28>> God can use you even after failure.
5:33You need to embrace that idea that even
5:36though you have failed, I'm not here
5:38telling you today that you ought to keep
5:40on making bad mistakes and keep on
5:42making bad decisions and so forth. But
5:45what I'm telling you after you made
5:47those bad decisions, God is saying to
5:51you today, I still have use of your
5:55life.
5:57>> David prayed in Psalm 51. He prayed one
6:01of the most honest prayers recorded in
6:04scripture. And one of the things we need
6:07to understand is this. God knows our
6:09heart. And when we go to God with
6:13honesty and saying, "God, this is who I
6:15am. This is the things that I'm
6:17struggling with, God will hear your
6:20prayer." I believe this is one of the
6:23greatest prayer David has ever prayed or
6:26anybody has ever prayed in scripture. It
6:29was not written during a season of
6:31victory. David wasn't just in this
6:33victorious season. So, he prayed this
6:36wonderful prayer. It was written after
6:38one of the darkest moments of his life.
6:41And I'm telling you today, God sent me
6:43to talk to a few of you who are in one
6:46of the darkest moments of your life
6:49right now. And you're wondering, how are
6:52you going to make it? And can God use
6:54you?
6:57Let me continue by saying and David
6:59sinned with Barshiba
7:01and orchestrated the death of her
7:04husband Uriah.
7:06God sent the prophet Nathan to confront
7:10him.
7:12Here's a man committed adultery,
7:15committed sin against this man's wife,
7:20and the Bible says to cover it up,
7:23>> he killed the man.
7:26cuz we're good at covering up our sins
7:31>> and we'll go to the point of murder
7:35>> just to cover it up. Though the
7:37confrontation was uncomfortable for
7:40David,
7:42it was meant it was not meant to destroy
7:45him. It was meant to restore him. Now
7:47wait a minute. See, we preach about how
7:49David committed the sin, committed
7:53murder, and then, you know, that was
7:56wrong and what he did, but we forget to
7:58to to recognize that the reason why God
8:02sent the prophet to talk to him about
8:04his sin was not to destroy him. It was
8:08to restore him, to redeem him. So when
8:11you hear sermons, when you open your
8:14phone and all of a sudden things that
8:16you're struggling with pops up on the
8:18screen, or maybe you turn on your radio
8:20and the things that God is trying to
8:23tell you, YOU START HEARING it through a
8:25preacher, start hearing it through
8:27somebody that God sent in your life, God
8:30is doing those things not to chastise
8:33you, but to restore you
8:37>> just like he did to David. The message
8:40was proof that God had not given up on
8:43David in spite of his sin.
8:48So likewise, when God corrects us, he is
8:51not rejecting us. He's calling us back
8:55to himself.
8:57In Hebrews 12 verse 6, we're reminded
9:01of the scripture. It says because the
9:03Lord disciplines the ones
9:07or the person he loves. The Lord
9:11discipline the ones he loves. Maybe
9:15that's where our parents got this from.
9:19You know they will
9:22be beating us and says you know why I'm
9:24doing this is because I love you.
9:29Anybody came from that kind of a
9:30background?
9:33after they slaughtered you,
9:37then they'll turn around and hug you and
9:39say, "You know, I love you."
9:41>> And you're thinking, "How in the world
9:43could you love me and hit me like that?"
9:46>> You see, God is still calling his people
9:49back to himself. He's calling us to
9:52revival. He's calling us to renewal.
9:55He's calling us to return to our first
10:00love. Uh that's what he's doing. And the
10:03message of Psalm 51 is very simple.
10:06Failure is not final when repentance is
10:10genuine.
10:12>> That's the message.
10:15This is the purpose of the body of
10:16Christ. This is the purpose for the
10:18platform that God has entrusted me with.
10:21It is not to use this platform to dog
10:25you out or to present myself as the
10:28righteous one. The purpose for this
10:30stage is not for me to display my talent
10:34or to use the scripture to beat upon you
10:37or to cast judgment on you. The message
10:41and purpose for the stage is to bring
10:44hope [snorts]
10:45to those who are broken and hope to
10:47those who have lost their way. And
10:49somebody ought to give God praise for
10:51that.
10:54>> [applause]
10:55>> Isaiah 1 verse 18,
10:59it says, "Though your sins are like
11:01what? Scarlet. They shall be what?
11:05>> As white as snow." What an incredible
11:09promise. No matter how messed up we
11:12become, God is still willing to change
11:15us. God knows where we have been. He
11:19knows all of our mistakes.
11:22He knows our compromises. Yet, he still
11:26loves us. He still believes in us. He
11:30still has a purpose for us. He still
11:33believes in us. No matter how broken you
11:36are, God still has a purpose for your
11:40life. The enemy wants you to focus on
11:43your failure.
11:45But God wants you to focus on his mercy.
11:49His mercy is everlasting and the truth
11:52of the Lord endured forever. Lamentation
11:553 22- 23 pretty much tells us his
12:00compassions
12:02never fail.
12:05They are new every morning.
12:07>> When you woke up this morning, it was
12:10the mercy of God
12:12>> that woke you up.
12:14>> Come on now. The reason why you're in
12:18the middle of the year, it's because of
12:21the mercy of God.
12:24>> Now, here is the heart of the message
12:25today.
12:27And to give you a biblical understanding
12:29of Psalm 51, verse 12. The message is
12:34all about restoration.
12:37It's about someone who failed and needs
12:40to be revived. David prayed. He prayed
12:44the prayer, restore to me the joy of
12:47your salvation and grant me a willing
12:50spirit to sustain me. He prayed it.
12:54Notice David asked for two things. One,
12:58restore the joy of salvation. Two, grant
13:01a willing spirit to sustain me. David
13:05understood that revival begins when joy
13:09returns.
13:12He understood that revival will begin
13:14when joy is returned. He did not ask God
13:18for a throne. He did not ask God for
13:21wealth. He did not ask God for power.
13:24Some of us are asking for the wrong
13:27things.
13:29>> GOD GIVE ME A SPOUSE. GIVE ME A WIFE.
13:32GIVE ME A HUSBAND. GOD GIVE ME A BETTER
13:35JOB. GOD GIVE ME MONEY. GIVE ME THIS
13:39material things. Give me more of this.
13:43And the truth is some of US WHEN WE GET
13:46ALL OF THOSE THINGS, WE'RE still not
13:49happy.
13:52[applause]
13:53>> You want to talk to people with a lot of
13:55money. YOU WANT TO talk to a LOT OF
13:57PEOPLE THAT YOU THINK ARE SUCCESSFUL.
14:01>> Most of them WILL TELL YOU THEY'RE not
14:03happy.
14:05>> He never asked God for wealth.
14:09He did NOT ASK GOD FOR POWER. HE simply
14:12asked God for joy.
14:16>> Because when you lose the joy of your
14:20salvation, everything else begins to
14:23decline.
14:25>> Everything. Now, there are two things
14:28every believer must recover. Every
14:32believer, you got to recover these two
14:34things. Number one, the joy of your
14:36salvation.
14:37The church today does not have a worship
14:40problem. Please hear me. We don't have a
14:43worship problem. We have a joy problem.
14:48>> It's not a worship. Oh, we've got
14:50incredible worship leaders.
14:53>> We have incredible musicians. Yes,
14:56>> if I must say, you know, of course,
14:57we're only a portion of the
14:59representation of the body of Christ,
15:01but I have to tell you, the faith center
15:03has some of the greatest musicians and
15:07worship leaders.
15:10[applause]
15:12But I have to tell you,
15:15we don't have a worship problem.
15:19>> We know how to worship. OUR PROBLEM IS
15:23WE LOST OUR JOY.
15:26>> Many people still attend CHURCH BUT HAVE
15:28LOST THE EXCITEMENT OF BEING A FOLLOWER
15:31OF JESUS CHRIST.
15:34>> You may come to church BUT YOU'VE LOST
15:37THAT PASSION AND THAT JOY to follow
15:40Christ.
15:41>> Some people HAVE STOPPED COMING TO
15:44CHURCH BECAUSE THEY'VE LOST THE JOY OF
15:48FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST. They stop coming
15:51to church because of a preacher. They
15:52stop coming to church because of they
15:54say Christians are hypocrites. They stop
15:57coming to church because they hear on
16:00the streets THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE THAT
16:02ALL OF THIS IS HYPOCRISY AND IT'S NOT
16:05REAL AND GOD IS not real and it's a
16:07white man's UM DOCTRINE AND ALL THESE
16:11STUFF. But let me tell you something.
16:13You've been tricked. WHEN YOU KNOW GOD
16:16for yourself and you have a personal
16:19relationship with him, it's beyond
16:22religion.
16:25It's a relationship.
16:29So, they've lost their joy and their
16:31excitement to follow Christ.
16:34The joy that once caused them to pray
16:36has faded. The joy that once caused them
16:39to serve has diminished. Remember
16:44when you were excited about serving God
16:46and serving in his kingdom?
16:48So many believers are so comfortable
16:52coming to church, sitting,
16:55>> preach me happy,
16:57>> lead me into worship, let me have a good
16:59time,
17:00>> but not willing to serve.
17:03>> Not willing to say, "Let me be a greeter
17:05in the lobby cuz I have the gift of
17:07hospitality." Some of you are so gifted
17:11and smiling. you're gifted in welcoming
17:14some people because it's everybody don't
17:16have that.
17:19>> Some people are mean and insensitive cuz
17:22they they they they just go through so
17:24much trauma. But some of you are gifted.
17:27You know how to deal with children. So
17:29you're not willing to serve in
17:30children's church. You don't know how to
17:32serve. You don't know how to serve as
17:34servant leaders. You've lost all of
17:36that. You will come into the house of
17:38God and be IN CHURCH FOR 20 YEARS.
17:42and never serve.
17:46>> THE JOY THAT ONCE CAUSED them
17:49to serve has diminished
17:52>> and sadly many
17:54show no interest in serving in ministry,
17:58no interest in volunteering their time
18:01and no interest of being generous.
18:05Some people struggle during offering
18:07time. mixed emotions
18:11and the enemy gets into their head and
18:14their feelings and and and and and
18:17before you know it, it becomes an
18:20uncomfortable moment for them because
18:23they've lost their joy of serving Jesus
18:26Christ. The joy that once caused them to
18:30share Christ
18:33has now disappeared.
18:37Since January,
18:39have you told anybody about God?
18:42>> My God.
18:43>> My God.
18:45>> Have you ever witnessed to your family,
18:48your co-workers,
18:50you had multiple opportunities
18:53>> when they were telling you their
18:54problems?
18:57Have you once said to somebody,
19:00"Let me talk to you about God,
19:03I'm not forcing Christianity on you and
19:06my my faith on you, but I know you're
19:09going through something, but let me tell
19:12you how I walk through what you are
19:14currently experiencing.
19:16>> What you are currently experiencing,
19:19I've been through that. When was the
19:22last time you shared your faith?"
19:26But oh, if I would ask you
19:29how many stuff in social media you have
19:32shared
19:36>> and most of what you have shared
19:40>> is not healthy stuff.
19:43>> I'm talking to kingdom citizens now.
19:47Nehemiah verse 8:10 says, "The joy of
19:49the Lord is your strength." When joy
19:53disappears, strength disappears. When
19:57joy returns, strength returns. The enemy
20:01cannot stop a believer who is genuinely
20:05joyful about what Jesus has done in
20:08their lives.
20:10And here's the second thing a believer
20:12needs to recover.
20:15It's an intentional pursuit of God.
20:20>> This one is big.
20:22intentional pursuit of God. David also
20:26asked GOD FOR A WILLING SPIRIT. CUZ
20:29LISTEN, IF WE DON'T ASK GOD FOR A
20:31WILLING SPIRIT TO SERVE HIM, we're not
20:33going to serve him.
20:36>> He asked God for willing spirit.
20:39He says a willing spirit that chooses
20:43you daily
20:46because revival is not an event. It's
20:49not Sunday morning. It's not a
20:51conference. It's a lifestyle.
20:55>> That's what it means to re be revived.
20:57Jeremiah 29:13,
21:00you will seek me and find me when you
21:02seek me with all
21:05>> of your heart. That's intentional
21:07worship. So the challenge faced in the
21:10modern day church today is not a lack of
21:14information.
21:16Sadly, it's the lack of commitment.
21:19We have more sermons, podcasts, books,
21:21and researches than ever before.
21:24Yet, we are unhappy. We're confused,
21:28unstable, and lack basic truths about
21:31the fundamentals of our Christian faith.
21:36Think about that.
21:38I mean, podcast upon podcast,
21:41books, and all these electronic stuff we
21:45have. Yet we, the body of Christ, are
21:49walking around unhappy. Let's tell the
21:51truth. Unhappy in our homes, [snorts]
21:54unhappy in our marriages,
21:56unhappy running our businesses, very
21:59much unhappy.
22:01We We dress up our unhappiness,
22:06>> not knowing that it's the joy of knowing
22:09God
22:11>> that's going to give you the strength to
22:13continue this journey in life. So, let
22:16me briefly conclude this by walking you
22:19through each of the 11 verses
22:23of Psalm 51 before we get to verse 12.
22:27I want to show you what David meant when
22:31he was saying, "God, revive me and
22:34sustain me." The very first verse says,
22:37"Have mercy on me, oh God." David began
22:41with mercy. He knew he could not earn or
22:45work his way to forgiveness because
22:48revival begins when we depend on God's
22:54mercy. Verse two, it says, "Wash away
22:58all my iniquity." David wanted complete
23:01cleansing,
23:03NOT A SUNDAY MORNING FEELGOOD.
23:07>> Come to church. I think I got my word. I
23:10think I got blessed today.
23:13He wanted to live this every day.
23:17He wanted a complete change, not partial
23:21change, not an image management.
23:26Not to just change my image for a
23:28season. He wanted to be transformed. He
23:32wanted real transformation. Verse three,
23:36for I know my transgressions. David
23:39accepted responsibility for his sin.
23:42the [clears throat] sin that he
23:43committed. Because revival, watch this,
23:46begins where excuses end.
23:51>> The moment you stop making excuses and
23:54you say, God, only against you have I
23:57sinned,
23:58>> then revival will begin in your life,
24:00verse four, and again you are against
24:02you and you only have I sinned. David
24:05understood that every sin ultimately
24:08affects our relationship with God. Verse
24:11five surely
24:14I was sinful at birth. He acknowledged
24:18his human condition because without
24:21God's grace, none of us stands a chance
24:26of having real joy. Romans 3:23 tells
24:30us, "For all have what? Sinned and fall
24:34short of God's glory." Number six, you
24:38desire [snorts] faithfulness.
24:41God desires truth. Truth in the inward
24:45part of from all of us. He wants
24:48authenticity,
24:50not our performance.
24:53>> There's a difference. Verse seven, I
24:55love this. Wash me and I will be whiter
24:58than snow. David believed restoration
25:01was possible because you cannot be
25:04revived if you do not believe God can
25:07restore you. Verse eight, let me hear
25:11joy and gladness. And this is where the
25:14meat of the message comes into play. Let
25:18me hear joy and gladness. Can I ask you
25:21a question? When was the last time you
25:24could honestly say you had real joy?
25:29that you were really glad. I'm not
25:31talking about because you got your
25:33paycheck.
25:35I'm not talking about because somebody
25:37gave you something. When was the last
25:39time you sat in YOUR HOUSE, YOU SAT IN
25:42THE CAR, you sat among all the material
25:45things that you've acquired and honestly
25:48can say even if you lose them all,
25:53still have joy.
25:57Cuz some of YOU ARE ONLY SMILING BECAUSE
26:01YOU HAVE THE JOB.
26:03>> You're only smiling BECAUSE THE CAR YOU
26:05GOT IN THE PARKING LOT, IT'S A nice car.
26:10>> The house you LIVE IN, THE APARTMENT YOU
26:12LIVE IN, IT'S NICE. YOU GOT A FEW
26:15DOLLARS IN the bank account. YOUR JOY IS
26:18BASED ON YOUR POSSESSION.
26:21And I promise you, the moment you lose
26:23them,
26:24>> the moment you lose them, your joy is
26:27gone.
26:28>> But there are some people don't have all
26:31of that.
26:33They don't have the fancy car. Come on
26:35now. They don't have the big house. They
26:37don't have a lot of money in the bank.
26:39But boy, they are full of joy.
26:43Am I talking to anybody out there today?
26:45They are full of joy.
26:49Let me hear joy and gladness. Verse
26:52nine, hide your face from my sins.
26:57David, his desire was for forgiveness
27:01and reconciliation
27:03because he could not deal with how his
27:07actions
27:09changed the image of who God has created
27:12him to be.
27:14There's something about when you look in
27:16the mirror and you are honest with
27:18yourself and you say,
27:22"I'm not at my best."
27:27>> Come on now, brothers. Go into when you
27:30go home, go in the mirror, man. Like
27:32women, you know, women, they always do
27:33it, you know,
27:35from every side.
27:38Just go in the mirror and look at
27:40yourself.
27:41Am I pleased with who I am?
27:48>> Am I the best version of myself?
27:52Ladies, are you the best version of
27:56yourself?
27:58David cried to God, "Hide
28:03your face from my sins." Cuz he knew
28:05what he did was wrong.
28:10He knew that the sin that he comm or
28:13sins
28:16he was with the wrong woman
28:19and to cover it up because when you sin
28:22you got to sin again to cover up the
28:25first sin and then you got to sin again
28:27to cover up the first sin then the
28:29second sin then you got to sin again.
28:31You know it's kind you got to lie to
28:33cover up the first lie to cover up the
28:36third lie and the fourth lie. He knew
28:38it.
28:40And when he stood before God, he knew
28:43God wasn't pleased with him cuz he knew,
28:45watch this. Have you ever thought about
28:49this for a moment, that when God created
28:52David,
28:55he created him to be king?
29:01>> Wait, this is good stuff. WHEN GOD
29:03CREATED HIM, HE WAS CREATED TO BE A
29:07KING. EVEN THOUGH HIS FATHER DID NOT PUT
29:11GREAT VALUE on him,
29:13>> he was still king.
29:15So even when people don't recognize you,
29:18even when people don't appreciate you or
29:20value you or even when your mother and
29:23your father weren't there for you and
29:25supported you, when God put something in
29:29you, ain't nobody can take it away from
29:32you.
29:34It was already in him. And brothers, I'M
29:38TELLING YOU TODAY, YES, YOU MIGHT HAVE
29:41BEEN LIKE DAVID, sinned against God,
29:47but once God put a king in you,
29:52>> EVEN WITH YOUR PAST SINS,
29:56he still has purpose for your life.
30:00>> He still wants to use you.
30:03I don't CARE HOW MANY DRUGS YOU HAVE
30:06taken in the past. I don't care HOW MANY
30:09WOMEN'S LIFE you have ruined.
30:12I don't care how YOU HAVE SPENT ALL OF
30:14YOUR MONEY. LISTEN TO me men.
30:18>> YOU MIGHT HAVE MADE A WHOLE LOT OF
30:20MISTAKE. YOU MIGHT HAVE COMMITTED MURDER
30:23LIKE David
30:26>> and the LAW HAS NOT CAUGHT UP TO YOU.
30:30>> I'm telling you today
30:32When Moses OR DAVID STOOD BEFORE GOD,
30:38>> he said, "God,
30:41you know my sins.
30:44I'm not going to pretend.
30:47I know what I did.
30:50So God, don't hide your face cuz if if
30:53you turn your back on me, I'm done."
30:58>> HE KNEW THAT. I'M DONE. HE SAID, "GOD,
31:02DON'T HIDE YOUR FACE FROM ME. RESTORE
31:05THE JOY
31:07>> of myself. RESTORE THE JOY." AS A
31:10SHEPHERD BOY, [screaming]
31:11I USED TO SIT DOWN WITH THE HARP AND I
31:14USED TO PLAY MUSIC AND SING SONGS. I
31:17WROTE SONGS. I'm gifted. I'M A WRITER.
31:23AND I LOST IT BECAUSE I SINNED.
31:27>> Don't turn your back on me now.
31:31Even though there's a man in the grave
31:32that's crying out because I killed him.
31:37>> Don't hide it from me. You're in this
31:40room today. You're streaming and I'm
31:42telling you, there's a lot of stuff you
31:45did that's buried.
31:48Ain't nobody know about it.
31:51And you're saying, "God, how can you use
31:53me?
31:55How can you still use me?
31:59Why are you chasing after me? Why do I
32:03keep going to the faith center and hear
32:06this preacher and OTHER PEOPLE STILL
32:09PUSHING ME? WHY DO I FEEL SO
32:12UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY chair
32:15feel as if I'M THE ONLY ONE IN THIS ROOM
32:18THIS GUY IS TALKING TO?
32:21WHY WHEN I LEAVE CHURCH AND I GO HOME, I
32:25CAN'T GET THE WORDS OF WHAT I HEARD IN
32:28SERVICE out of my head? Could it be that
32:32God is chasing after you
32:36>> while you're running away from him
32:39and he's saying he's saying to you, you
32:44need to be like David
32:46>> when he said create in me.
32:51See, this is where intentional worship
32:54comes into play. Create in me
32:59a clean, pure heart, oh God.
33:04This was perhaps the greatest prayer
33:07David prayed.
33:10>> I'm not hiding from you anymore.
33:13I want to be revived.
33:17I want to feel the presence of God back
33:19in my life
33:22when I was in the bush
33:25when I was out there in the field
33:28and my father didn't even recognize my
33:30gift.
33:32But you, oh God,
33:34knew that if anybody was going to be
33:38anointed,
33:39it was me.
33:41Oh, I feel by the presence and the
33:44anointing of the Holy Spirit today that
33:47so many of you
33:50God is walking the earth by the spirit
33:54and he's looking to anoint you. Listen
33:57to me.
33:59There's an oil
34:02all over your head.
34:05God is searching the earth looking
34:08to anoint you,
34:12>> but you're not in the right position.
34:16>> You're like David's brother.
34:19You want to be on display.
34:22Your pride is what's destroying you.
34:27David was in the backside of the desert
34:29working. God is always looking for
34:32humble people. If my people who are
34:35called by my name would humble
34:38themsself, praise and seek my face.
34:42Watch this. Turn. There has to be a
34:45turning. Listen to me, sir. Listen to
34:47me, ma'am. Until you turn,
34:50there won't be healing. There won't be
34:53deliverance. You got to turn from your
34:55wicked ways.
34:58Come on now. You got to turn, man.
35:01[music]
35:02And now is the time. And now is the
35:04moment to turn.
35:08>> To turn.
35:10>> I want you to bow your heads.
35:13>> I want you to close your eyes if you can
35:15so nobody's distracted. I'm going to let
35:16you go.
35:20But I don't know who this message was
35:22for.
35:25But I'm telling you today, sir, ma'am
35:29David,
35:33verse 12.
35:36Verse 12. Put it up on the screen for
35:39me. Verse 12.
35:41Verse 12 is very important.
35:45It It is the heartbeat of every
35:48believer.
35:50Restore to me.
35:54restore.
35:59Sir, you have lost your joy, man.
36:03Come on, woman of God.
36:07Don't don't don't sugarcoat this. Your
36:11joy left a long time ago.
36:15And God is saying, you ought to be like
36:18David. Restore the joy
36:21of your salvation.
36:24and help me to have a willing spirit so
36:26I can be sustained. Father, I thank you
36:29that those who are streaming, those who
36:31are on campus, heard your word today and
36:35you challenge us to be restored.
36:40Oh, I sense that there are so many men,
36:44so many men
36:47who have given up on dreaming,
36:52given up on becoming the best version of
36:56themselves
36:57because they have allowed their past
36:59mistakes
37:03to dictate
37:05that they are failures.
37:09these men, there's no failure in them
37:12because if you can still use David, you
37:15can use them, too.
37:18So, I thank you that today's a day of
37:21revival for your men, for these women.
37:24Today's a day of restoration for them.
37:28And we thank you quickly with every head
37:31bowed, every eyes still closed.
37:35Ladies, please excuse me
37:38by just doing this specifically for men.
37:46Doesn't mean you don't need it to. But I
37:48want every [music] man
37:51who feel that this message was yours
37:55and you know in your heart
37:57you lost the joy. You lost the joy of
38:01serving God
38:04and you know you have to get it back. I
38:06want you to come meet me down to the
38:09front. Meet me right here. Come on. Meet
38:12me right here. You lost the joy. You
38:15lost it.
38:17You lost it. Don't play with this now.
38:20You know you lost it. Come on. Come on,
38:23guys. Come on.
38:29>> [music]
38:33>> You lost it.
38:36You lost it.
38:40You lost it.
38:46[music]
38:48Come on.
38:51Come on.
38:53Come on.
38:54Keep
38:57>> [applause and music]
39:00>> Now, I'm not going to drag this out cuz
39:03we got to get out of here. I'm not going
39:05to drag this out.
39:09But some of you guys are in your seat
39:13and you know
39:15God pierced your heart this morning with
39:18the word.
39:22And I'm going to ask you one more time.
39:27The the Holy Spirit is tugging at you. I
39:30need you to get up out of your seat and
39:33I need you to come down here as fast as
39:36you can. Do not play with this moment.
39:42Don't play with this moment.
39:45[music]
39:49Don't play with this moment.
39:53Don't play with this moment.
39:57Thank you.
39:59Thank you. Now,
40:03we're going to [music] pray with you
40:06and then we're going to let you go. But
40:07here's the thing I want to tell all of
40:09you, all of you men.
40:11And here pastor today,
40:17you don't have a lot of time.
40:22I don't care your age.
40:24You don't have a lot of time.
40:28You are a target of the enemy.
40:34>> Cuz watch this. If he can get you, watch
40:37this. If he can get you,
40:41He gets your house.
40:45>> If he can get your house, he gets the
40:48woman of your life. He gets your
40:51children.
40:52He gets your wealth. And he gets your
40:55legacy.
40:58Now you have to make the choice to
41:00decide whether or not you want to give
41:04everything to the devil.
41:07It's all up to you. If you want to call
41:09it quits now and say, "I give up." You
41:13can let him have it all. And trust me,
41:16he's a thief. He comes to kill, steal,
41:19and to destroy.
41:23But if you embrace the word of the Lord
41:25this morning and embrace what [music]
41:28God has to offer you, he says, "I come
41:29that you might have life in abundance
41:33till it overflows."
41:36So what you have to do today is like
41:38David, be honest to God. Tell God your
41:42weakness. Tell God the areas you failed
41:44at. And be the best version of yourself.
41:50Deep on the inside of you, there's a
41:52king. David, there's a king in you.
41:56I don't care what you're struggling
41:58with. I don't care. There's a king in
42:02you. You might have committed a crime.
42:05There's a king in you. You may be
42:08struggling with pornography.
42:10There's a king in you.
42:14You may be struggling with how to manage
42:16a woman. There's a king in you. Probably
42:19haven't supported your children. There's
42:21a king in you.
42:25But as long AS YOU KEEP RUNNING FROM
42:27GOD,
42:29the enemy will destroy you.
42:33But if you be like David, don't hide
42:36your face from me.
42:38>> Don't let my sins cause you to turn your
42:42back towards me. I'm here for you guys.
42:47I will be praying for you daily. And I
42:52don't say that casually.
42:55I am praying for you because I'm telling
42:58you what I see in your future. Listen,
43:02I'm a guy. I can see into the future.
43:06I'm telling you what I see in all of you
43:10is greatness.
43:12But Satan wants to take it from you.
43:15Don't let him have it.
43:18Don't let him have it. Please. I am
43:22begging you, do not let the devil have
43:26your best years.
43:29Take hold of your life now.
43:33Now change now. Turn now. Be a good man
43:39now. Not tomorrow.
43:41Now.
43:44And watch how the joy of your salvation
43:48will be restored.
43:51Watch how you'll be happy even when you
43:53struggle with money.
43:56>> Because it's not things that makes you
43:59happy,
44:00it's God.
44:03>> It's God. [music]
44:06Amen. So do me a favor. Raise your hand.
44:09Everybody stand. Everybody stand.
44:12Everybody stand. Stretch your hands
44:15towards these men. Everybody out there,
44:17those of you are streaming, maybe you're
44:19a man out there and you're saying, "I'm
44:21not in the building, but please pray for
44:23me." Stretch your hands towards the
44:25screen that you're watching.
44:28Father, I pray for these men who are
44:31online and those here in front. They
44:36needed to hear this word. Thank you.
44:39Thank you that they've received it.
44:42And today I believe
44:44they are turning their hearts over to
44:47you. They're like David. Create in me a
44:50clean heart. Renew in me a right spirit.
44:54Would you touch every one of these men
44:57today? I pray that Father, a year from
45:00now when they look back, they'll see the
45:02progress. that you will surround them
45:05with the right men and women in their
45:07lives who will support them on their
45:09faith journey. Thank you that these men
45:13will live to GLORIFY YOU. 20 YEARS from
45:16now, these men would look back and be
45:18able to teach their own children how to
45:22survive a failure, how to pick
45:25themselves back up and turn to God.
45:28Touch them today, I pray. I believe you
45:31kept them alive for such a moment. Some
45:33of them should have been dead a long
45:35time ago, but God, you preserve them for
45:38such a moment like this.
45:42Thank you for blessing them. Thank you
45:44for this congregation. Thank you for
45:47allowing your Holy Spirit to guide us
45:50even through some difficult seasons.
45:53Bless these women. Strengthen them, I
45:55pray. Thank you that they're praying for
45:58us men as we pray for them. bless this
46:01ministry as we come on Wednesday for
46:04Bohemian worship night. Holy Spirit, let
46:07your presence meet us here. And we thank
46:10you that the men, the men will be coming
46:12out this Saturday praying, walking the
46:15property, the grounds of this property,
46:18praying, God, because I believe when men
46:21stand up and begin to pray, God, the the
46:24windows of heaven will begin to open and
46:29you'll pour out blessings upon us and we
46:31give you praise for it in Jesus name.
46:34And everybody shout,
46:36>> amen. Come on, lift your hands and let's
46:38say the benediction. Faith in God will
46:41move mountains out of my life. God bless
46:44you. Thank you all for coming today. See
46:47you on Wednesday. Blessings, brothers.
46:49Blessings, brothers. Come on. Encourage
46:52these men.
