0:00All right, so let's get right into our
0:02study tonight. We have a few things to
0:04cover. It's not going to be lengthy, but
0:07I want to share this with you because
0:10given our theme this month, we're
0:14talking um about I know I am. And I
0:18think for every one of us, we need to
0:21answer that question. We need to maybe
0:23it's not a question really. We need to
0:26um fill in the blank.
0:29We we've got to complete that sentence.
0:33So the question really then is who are
0:36you?
0:37And if you don't know who you are,
0:42um what can you do to discover who you
0:47are?
0:49what biblical stories or biblical
0:53uh character
0:56that you can identify with to help you
1:00discover who you are. Right? So, my
1:04intent tonight is to help you to rewrite
1:08your story.
1:11Rewrite your story because maybe
1:13currently your story is not pretty.
1:17what's been written about you, whether
1:19it's you who wrote it or whether it's
1:22what people are telling you and the
1:25narratives that they are creating for
1:28your life. That might be the story
1:33that's out there, but do you have the
1:35courage to rewrite it? Do you have the
1:38courage to paint a different picture of
1:42who you are? So, let's talk about this.
1:44Let's talk about becoming who God called
1:47you to be. Because I don't know who this
1:49is for.
1:51The story about you is not the ending of
1:54who you are,
1:56>> Jesus.
1:57>> In fact, for some of you, it's not even
1:59the beginning. So, have you ever felt uh
2:04defined by your past, your mistakes, or
2:08your limitations? Think about that. Has
2:12there ever been a a time in your life
2:14where you have allowed your past to
2:18define you?
2:20Let's let's think about that for a
2:22moment cuz all of us we have a past,
2:25right? So when it comes to what happened
2:29five years ago, a year ago, six months
2:32ago,
2:34um did you allow that to write your
2:38story?
2:39Did you allow that to define who you
2:42are? Maybe in your uh teen, in your
2:48young adult age, maybe you're in middle
2:51age or a senior now. Are you still
2:54struggling with what happened five years
2:56or 20 years ago or 30 years ago? Think
3:00about that. Are you still struggling
3:01with that? Um are you allowing your past
3:05to define who you are? Now, next
3:08Wednesday is going to be a very
3:09interesting Bible study. I won't be the
3:12speaker. There's a woman
3:14um I've asked to teach next Wednesday
3:18and she has an amazing story and I don't
3:22want to tell her story but I want her to
3:24tell it um because she's going to prove
3:28to you that regardless of the mistakes
3:31you've made of uh uh um in your past
3:35that you can rewrite your story.
3:39>> This much I will tell you about this
3:41lady. This lady in her teens in college
3:45made a mistake,
3:48a huge mistake, and she owned it. Here's
3:51a story. She went to prison.
3:56So, I won't tell the whole story. Today,
3:59she is a lawyer.
4:04>> [applause]
4:07>> So even if you are imprisoned like
4:11Joseph,
4:16you have the power to rewrite your
4:18story. Joseph could have said, "I'm a
4:20victim of the system. I was wrongfully
4:23accused." There are many people in
4:25prison right now who are wrongfully
4:27accused.
4:29Joseph could have said, "I've been
4:31accused of sexual assault.
4:35He could have said, "There's so many
4:37things against me. How can God use me?
4:40How can I become a prime minister, a
4:43leader?" Think about that.
4:46Yet, he became a leader. This woman
4:49could have allowed her past to define
4:51who she is, and that would be the end of
4:54our her story. But she's going to tell
4:59you how she did it. How she went, watch
5:03this, from the jail house to God's
5:06house, cuz she had an encounter with God
5:10>> to the courthouse.
5:13>> See, that's the thing. Your mistake
5:17and your future have something in the
5:20middle, and that is a divine encounter
5:23with God.
5:27See, the moment you have a div a divine
5:30encounter with God, it changes
5:32everything about you. Are you hearing me
5:35tonight?
5:36>> So, in this Bible study, we're going to
5:39talk through and walk through, if you
5:41will, the life of a person who we're
5:45familiar with. But I love talking about
5:48him because his story is going to help
5:51you and I to understand that we have a
5:53chance now to rewrite our story. And
5:57we're going to talk about the life of
5:59Moses. Anybody ever heard of Moses?
6:02>> All right. If you haven't heard of him,
6:03I think you were just born yesterday.
6:05So, we'll move on. But when it comes to
6:08Moses, here's the thing that you need to
6:10understand about Moses. Moses, number
6:12one, he was born into crisis.
6:16Follow me here. He was born into crisis.
6:19And if you're taking notes, please you
6:21you got to make sure you take cuz you
6:24know some of you, I don't know if you
6:26have it in your phone, you have a little
6:28thing called memo or something that you
6:29can dictate and you you need to trust
6:32me. Tonight is the night you really need
6:34to take it because some of you are in a
6:37crisis right now. And the question is,
6:40are you willing
6:42to allow yourself
6:45to be tutored by your crisis to get you
6:49where God wants you to be?
6:52Moses was born into a crisis. Some of
6:54you, you were born into situations you
6:58have no control over.
7:02Let's be honest. You were born into a
7:05dysfunctional home. You were born into a
7:07single family home. You were born into
7:10poverty. You were born into sickness.
7:13You I mean Moses was born into a crisis.
7:18He was raised in contradiction.
7:24Anybody ever been in a house that is
7:27full of confusion?
7:29Don't put your hands up.
7:33Right. He was also marked by failure.
7:39The Moses who led the children of Israel
7:43out of bondage,
7:45he had a few failures.
7:48I don't know where we get this from
7:49where we think that being born again,
7:52we're exempt from failures.
7:55Now, that's not a license now for you to
7:59go out and say, "Well, since we're going
8:01to fail, might as well I just do
8:02something to fail.
8:05Right? But Moses was marked by failure.
8:09But here's the important thing. He was
8:11chosen by God for greatness. So
8:14regardless of the crisis you're dealing
8:16with, regardless of the situation you
8:18were born into, when it comes to
8:20contradiction about you, your birth, and
8:23who your daddy is, or whatever the
8:25situation may be, maybe you have a
8:27couple of failures following you. When
8:29you are marked by God, that makes the
8:33difference.
8:36You're marked by God. Moses was marked
8:39by God for greatness. So no matter where
8:43you start or what you have been through,
8:46God is still writing your story. It's
8:49not really you. If you allow God to lead
8:53you and guide you,
8:56then he will allow the circumstances
8:58that you're going through to help you
9:01that to recognize that regardless if you
9:04were born in crisis, you were raised in
9:06contradiction, you were marked by
9:09failure, you're still chosen to be
9:12great.
9:14It's up to you.
9:16Your greatness cannot be stopped by your
9:20circumstance.
9:26>> Now, you can sit there and allow the
9:27devil to play with your mind and to tell
9:29you, "Well, all of these things you've
9:31been through in life and you've got all
9:33this problem." Some of you, you your
9:35situation is meant you need to change
9:37the way you're talking.
9:41>> You're you're you're talking negatively
9:43every day. Why don't you see the
9:46greatness that's in you?
9:48>> And maybe you don't have the right
9:50people around you to to push you and to
9:53speak to you. Some of you, you may need
9:55to change the crowd that you hang out
9:57with.
9:59>> You want people who will tell you, "Hey,
10:01you've been through that, but you know
10:02what? God still got a purpose for your
10:04life."
10:05>> Are you with me here?
10:07And so, so let me share with you five
10:10important things about Moses that
10:13hopefully you will see yourself in his
10:16life and try to pattern yourself after
10:19him. Number one, are you ready for this?
10:22>> Need to take these notes down. Your
10:24beginning does not define your ending.
10:30>> How you start
10:32doesn't define how you're going to end.
10:36Because Moses was born into crisis,
10:39right? That's his beginning. How How was
10:42he born into crisis? Everybody, if you
10:45got your Bible, go to Exodus chapter 2
10:47because I may need some people to read a
10:50few verses for me. All right? It's a
10:52Bible study. We're here to learn
10:54together, right? Don't leave it up to
10:56the preacher. So, if you can grab some
10:59uh a mic here. So, uh I want you to go
11:01to Exodus chapter 2. So, here it is.
11:05Moses, it tells you he was born into a
11:08crisis. A decree was issued
11:12to kill all the Hebrew male babies.
11:18Pharaoh decided every uh Israelite,
11:22every Jew, we're going to kill them.
11:24Male, I should say, we want to wipe them
11:27out. The seed,
11:30the head, we want to kill them. So, I
11:33want you to see this now. Put yourself
11:36in Moses' mother's
11:40situation.
11:42She gave birth to her son,
11:46who by the way, she didn't know it, but
11:49this was going to be the child who God
11:52was going to use to liberate
11:57a generation.
11:59Think about that.
12:01And she heard that Pharaoh said all the
12:05Hebrew babies, boys must be killed. And
12:11now she was left with a decision. And
12:14the decision was I have to give my baby
12:18away to save my baby. Think about that.
12:24Some of you, you in this room and those
12:26of you are watching sometime life has
12:29forced you to make a decision to
12:32separate from your blessing
12:35>> temporarily.
12:38>> I'm going somewhere with this. Remember,
12:41I'm telling you, I'm using the life of
12:42Moses to help you to understand that you
12:45can rewrite your story. All is not lost
12:48just because you're in a crisis right
12:49now. This woman gave birth to her son.
12:53The person who was going to liberate a
12:56people and she had to make a tough
12:59decision
13:01to give that baby away. How did she do
13:04it? Bible says she put him in a basket
13:07and then she put the basket along the
13:11bank of the Nile River.
13:14Picture this. How many of you females in
13:18here would take your baby, put your baby
13:21in a basket and just leave it by some
13:26bank or some areas of the ocean, right?
13:30We don't have rivers around here, but
13:32let's say you go Fort Lauderdale Beach
13:33and just leave it somewhere where you
13:36know uh it it it won't be washed away,
13:39but at least it's there. Which one of
13:41you going to do that? Not many of you,
13:43right? I mean, now your kid is about 12
13:46and you say, "Liz, I want to send that
13:47joker down that ocean." [laughter]
13:50Maybe now cuz you know, you're having a
13:52lot of problems with the child. So now
13:54you want to give the baby away. But
13:56nobody in their right mind would want to
13:59give a little infant away,
14:03but she had to make the decision to give
14:06her baby away. Exodus chapter uh two is
14:09full of details of the birth of Moses.
14:12But what looked like, watch this, what
14:14looked like abandonment
14:17for Moses was actually divine
14:20preservation.
14:23What looked like abandonment was divine
14:27preservation. Let me just pause here for
14:30a moment. Some of you feel as if
14:34situations in your life made you feel
14:37like you were abandoned.
14:40But could it be preservation?
14:44>> Could it be that God allowed certain
14:47situations in your life
14:50to make you feel like you were left,
14:54but actually what God was doing was
14:57preserving you.
14:59>> Moses mother made the best and right
15:02decision. Some of you, just because
15:05situations and people have walked out of
15:08your life, you have concluded that
15:11they've abandoned you. Could it be that
15:15God allow them
15:17to temporarily or permanently
15:21separate from you just to preserve you?
15:25Cuz
15:27some of you, if you still
15:30if you were to still be with that person
15:33right now,
15:35>> you have no idea
15:37>> the damage it would have done to you.
15:41>> Some of you are still crying over your
15:43ex.
15:45>> You ought to be glad God ex them out.
15:51Amen.
15:54>> Thank you, sweetheart. She shouting.

16:13Just Just think about it.
16:18The mother left her child there because
16:22that was the best decision. Could it be?
16:26>> The reason why God has placed you into
16:29isolation is not to destroy you,
16:32>> but to preserve you.
16:40>> Y'all not clapping like you. You're
16:41supporting what you're hearing tonight,
16:43man.
16:44Could it be that God's trying to
16:46PRESERVE YOU? THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT
16:49HAPPENED TO MOSES.
16:52>> If that baby could have talked, HE COULD
16:54HAVE SAID, "MY mother left me.
16:58>> I'm all out here by myself." But
17:01>> his mother was led by God
17:04to make a radical decision
17:07to preserve him. So many of you are
17:10thinking that the situation that you're
17:12in may not be good for you, but God
17:15could be preserving you. You see, God
17:17had a plan for Moses before Pharaoh had
17:20a plan against him.
17:26>> There are people right now who are
17:28plotting against you. I don't know who
17:30they are. They have a plan, but I have
17:33good news for you. God has a greater
17:36plan for your life.
17:40Yes, he does. So, what feels like loss
17:43in your life may actually be God
17:47positioning you for greatness.
17:53Come on now. You didn't lose anything.
17:56It's possible that God is saying, "Let
17:58me reposition you or position you for
18:01greatness." So, let's let me ask you
18:03this question. This is a question I want
18:05to ask you. And in the meantime, I want
18:07somebody to look at Exodus uh chapter 2
18:115-10 and get ready to read that. Exodus
18:16chapter 2 5-10.
18:18And I want you to read that. But here's
18:20a question I want to ask everyone uh
18:24today. And those of you online, you can
18:26go ahead and put in the chat because we
18:28want you to participate in this Bible
18:30study tonight. What difficult decision
18:32in your life might actually be God
18:37preserving your future?
18:40What difficult decision in your life
18:43might actually be God preserving you
18:48for your future or preserving your
18:50future? Think about that. Is there a
18:53difficult decision right now that you
18:55had to make maybe in your past or you're
18:58currently making that decision right now
19:00that God is actually saying, "I'm
19:02preserving you."
19:04Okay? Could it be that that relationship
19:09that
19:11you thought was strong?
19:14You were engaged.
19:17You planned the wedding.
19:19And maybe there's somebody in this room,
19:21somebody streaming, you sent out
19:23invitations, but you had to call it off.
19:28Could it be
19:31>> God was preserving you? Yes, sir.
19:36Could it be that that contract that you
19:38were going to sign,
19:40>> that deal you were going to sign, all of
19:42a sudden everything just went crazy
19:46>> and you're kind of like, God, have you
19:48abandoned me? And so for Could it be
19:49that God is preserving you
19:53from something that you can't see? All
19:58right. Who's going to read Exodus? Yes,
20:00please.
20:02So, let's follow along. Exodus 2,
20:05beginning at verse 5.
20:07>> Now, the daughter of Pharaoh came down
20:09to bathe at the river while her young
20:13women walked beside the river. She saw
20:15the basket among the reeds and sent her
20:18servant woman, and she took it. When she
20:21opened it, she saw the child, and
20:23behold, the baby was crying. She took
20:26pity on him and said, "This is one of
20:28the Hebrews children." Then his sister
20:32said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go
20:34and call you a nurse from the Hebrew
20:36women to nurse the child for you?" And
20:39Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Go." So
20:42the girl went and called the child's
20:44mother. And Pharaoh's daughter said to
20:46her, "Take this child away and nurse him
20:49for me, and I will give you your wages."
20:52So the woman took the child and nursed
20:55him.
20:56When the child grew older, she brought
20:59him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became
21:01her son. She named him Moses because she
21:05said, "I drew him out of the water."
21:08>> Okay, thank you so much. Now, there is
21:10so much out of those two verses, but
21:14here's what I want to zoom in on here.
21:18We find Moses is there left alone.
21:21Perhaps some people say he was abandoned
21:23by his mother.
21:25But notice, why was he left in the
21:29basket there alone? Well, there was a
21:32decree. There was uh the king or the the
21:36leader Pharaoh at that time said, "We're
21:38going to kill all these Hebrew male
21:40children." Now, follow me here.
21:43Look how God worked it out.
21:47that God used the daughter
21:50of the man who was trying to kill Moses
21:54to go by the river and happened to see
21:58him in the basket, fell in love with
22:01that little baby and took the baby home
22:05and turned around, hired the mother and
22:09paid her as a nanny.
22:13Some of you, your problem is you do not
22:17want to take help from people who are
22:20trying to sabotage you or people are
22:22trying to work against you. Listen,
22:27if Moses' mother had found out that that
22:30was Pharaoh's daughter, she could have
22:32said, "You must be crazy. That's her
22:36daddy trying to kill my son." Here's the
22:38point. What I'm trying to tell you, I'm
22:41trying to say to you, let God use
22:44whomvers
22:47>> he wants to use
22:51>> to bring about the blessing in your
22:53life.
22:55>> Some of you are too sensitive and you're
22:57too all into yourself.
23:00If your enemy comes up to you and says,
23:03you know, I don't know why I'm doing
23:04this, but here's $1,000. I don't want no
23:06money from you. You are stupid.
23:10[laughter]
23:11>> You
23:14I'm not going to use the word stupid.
23:16I'm going to use a biblical word. You're
23:18foolish
23:21cuz it's in the Bible.
23:24>> That's crazy.
23:26Here it is that God will do unique
23:30things to bless you and to get you out
23:33of the situation. He allowed the
23:36daughter of the man who was trying to
23:38kill her baby to find her baby and then
23:41turned around and paid her to take care
23:44of her child. Under normal
23:46circumstances, she would be taking care
23:48of her baby without pay. God has a way
23:53of turning the table on your enemies.
23:57[applause]
23:57>> Are you hearing me?
23:59>> He has a way of turning the table on
24:01your enemies. and let your enemies pay
24:04you
24:06>> for putting you through all the stuff
24:08they putting you through. Somebody ought
24:10to give God a praise, man.
24:15So, God will place you into environments
24:19that does or that don't match, I should
24:22say, your identity, but prepare you for
24:25your destiny. Let me say that again. God
24:27will place you in environments that
24:31don't match your identity but prepare
24:35you for your destiny.
24:38You may feel uncomfortable where you are
24:41but it's your purpose. It's the pathway
24:44to your destiny.
24:47So you may feel out of place that I
24:50don't belong here. This is not the
24:52environment a baby or a person or a
24:55woman of God, a man of God should
24:57develop in. But but what God is doing,
25:00God is using that to birth purpose in
25:04you. God uses every environment, good or
25:07bad, for his divine plan for your life.
25:12Are you hearing me? Number three, your
25:16failures
25:17do not cancel God's calling.
25:22>> Amen.
25:22>> Your failures.
25:24Your failures. Let's talk about Moses a
25:27little bit. Please read verse 11 to
25:31verse 15. I need somebody. Exodus 2
25:35verse 11- 15. We're talking about your
25:38failures do not cancel God's calling. I
25:43know you you had some failures. You've
25:46you've situations in your life. There's
25:48certain things that has happened to you.
25:50Uh I'm here to tell today to tell you
25:52that don't don't let that rewrite your
25:55story. All right. Who wants to read from
25:58verse 11? Grab a Yes. Thank you, ma'am.
26:01>> Okay.
26:04And it came to pass in those days, when
26:07Moses was grown, that he went out unto
26:11his brethren, and looked on their
26:13burdens, and he spied an Egyptian
26:18submitting in Hebrew, one of his
26:21brethren. And he looked this way and
26:25that way. And when he saw that there was
26:28no man, he slew the Egyptian and hid him
26:32in the sand. And when he went out the
26:36second day, behold, two men of the
26:39Hebrews strove together. And he said to
26:42him that he did the Rome, whereforest
26:48thou thy fellow? And he said, "Who made
26:52thee a prince and a judge over us?
26:57Intendest thou to kill me, as thou
27:01killedest killedest the Egyptian?" And
27:05Moses feared and said, Surely this thing
27:09is known. Now when Pharaoh heard this
27:13thing, he sought to slay Moses. But
27:16Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and
27:20dwelt in the land of Midian.
27:23>> All right, you can stop there now. Thank
27:25you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Now,
27:27here's the key. Here's this man who had
27:31a horrible beginning and now he's in a
27:35situation like many of us find ourselves
27:39in.
27:41He is out there and saw
27:45someone
27:47trying to do harm to his people.
27:51I kind of like people like that. I like
27:54people who will stand up for you.
27:58>> Come on now. Work with me here.
28:02>> Moses stood and saw somebody messing
28:05with an Hebrew. Come on.
28:09>> How many of you are have been in
28:12conversations where people are dogging
28:15out your friend, your husband, your
28:18wife, your family member, and you say
28:22nothing.
28:23>> Let's start there first before I go to
28:25what Moses did.
28:28>> I love Moses. I love Moses cuz Moses is
28:31saying, "You talk about my family,
28:33you're talking about me.
28:39half of you not responding. So,
28:44>> Right.
28:45>> So, when he heard he got angry, so he
28:48went to defend his people.
28:52>> The Bible says he got angry and he slew
28:55the man. He killed him.
28:57>> Killed him.
28:58If I had time, I would talk about how if
29:01we are not careful, that's why you ought
29:03to control your emotions, especially in
29:07times of conflict.
29:10>> Because prior to this, Moses was a good
29:13guy.
29:16[laughter]
29:17>> He was good, man.
29:20Never committed a crime.
29:23You'll be surprised if you get with the
29:26wrong people, they will push your
29:28button.
29:31>> I'm only talking to 10 people up in
29:33here. Let me just talk to the the
29:35viewers who are streaming. I like you
29:37better than all these people, fake
29:39people up in here.
29:43>> Think about that.
29:46This guy
29:50started defending his people because he
29:53did not like how his people were
29:56treated, the injustice
30:00and he went and because of that
30:04he had to now run for his life. [snorts]
30:08His failure of becoming a murderer.
30:13Think about that.
30:14a murderer. Maybe you say, "Well,
30:17pastor, I'm not a physical murderer, but
30:21how many people have you murdered with
30:22your mouth?"
30:31>> How many characters have you
30:33assassinated?
30:37>> Think about that.
30:41and he felt lost, empty
30:45to the point now where they're hunting
30:47him down to kill him.
30:50And then you would think that God would
30:53now say, "I'm done with you.
30:59I'm done with you." Think about that.
31:02I'm done with you.
31:05when his failure was just a setup
31:08for what God wants to use him for. Every
31:12experience in life serves a purpose.
31:18David was able to wrestle with animals.
31:24Was thrown in the the uh lion's den and
31:29befriended a lion. And God used that so
31:33that he could become a great leader.
31:37>> Some of you, you have to go through the
31:39test because God's got bigger things for
31:42you. And he cannot put you in leadership
31:45until you know how to mingle with lions.
31:51>> [applause]
31:55>> He can't put you in leadership until you
31:58know how to defend your tribe.
32:09[laughter]
32:12>> Cuz some of you don't be mad with me.
32:14Please let me go up here cuz I don't
32:15want you to hurt me. But some of you are
32:18sellouts.
32:20[cheering]

32:25>> I told you that's why I'm staying up
32:26here cuz
32:28just security
32:30check the room.
32:32Your sellouts.
32:36>> You just talk, but you don't walk it.
32:41>> We can't trust you. You smile in our
32:44face, but you will not defend us.
32:50>> Preach, BOY. [applause]
32:56>> There's a whole lot to learn
32:58>> when it comes to the life of Moses.
33:03>> He was a defender.
33:05And yet still even when he murdered the
33:08man,
33:09God never turned his back on him. How
33:13dare you tell yourself that because of
33:16what you've done,
33:19God can't use you.
33:24>> How dare you [laughter]
33:28say to yourself that God can't use you
33:31because of what you've done.
33:35Start thinking how you've canceled
33:37yourself. You told yourself,
33:40"Well, I did this. I did that."
33:44Maybe honestly, you have committed a
33:46crime.
33:48You've committed a crime. Just like the
33:50woman who's going to speak to you.
33:51Everybody in your life that is down and
33:54out and discouraged, you need to bring
33:56them here next Wednesday
33:59>> so that they CAN SEE A MODERNDAY prophet
34:03>> Jesus
34:04>> who went to hell and back
34:08>> who made mistakes
34:11and allowed God to turn her life around.
34:15Your life can be turned around if you
34:21trust God
34:23>> and look to him and not to your past.
34:28Yes.
34:30And so
34:32even with the failures in his life, God
34:35never cancelled the calling on his life.
34:39He killed the Egyptian man, fled into
34:41the wilderness, and he likely uh thought
34:44that his mistake disqualified him from
34:48uh God using him. You see, one wrong
34:52decision does not erase God's assignment
34:56on your life.
34:58Many people disqualify themselves before
35:01God ever does. God sees purpose. Watch
35:05this. Beyond your worst moment.
35:09Sees purpose. I want to help you. I
35:12don't care how things are bad in your
35:16life. Maybe you made some bad financial
35:18decisions.
35:20Okay? Own it. But God can still use you.
35:24Maybe you your parenting skills were not
35:28good.
35:29Own it. But God can use you.
35:33So here's a scripture um Romans 11:29.
35:39The Bible says the gifts and calling of
35:41God are without repentance.
35:46God's not going to change his mind
35:49pertaining to the gift that he's placed
35:51in you.
35:53You I have to tell you this. The only
35:57reason why you're not yet the best
35:59version of yourself is not because of
36:02God. The gifts are still in you. He
36:06hasn't changed his mind concerning you.
36:08The problem is you just won't accept the
36:12fact that God can still use you.
36:16>> Are you hearing me?
36:18>> Number four, stop letting insecurity
36:21rewrite your identity.
36:23>> Amen.
36:26Stop letting insecurity rewrite your
36:30identity.
36:32>> Well, let's look at Exodus chapter 3.
36:34Can somebody quickly go over to Exodus
36:37chapter 3 and let's read two verses?
36:41Verse 10 and 11 quickly. Who would be
36:43the bold person to do that? Exodus 3.
36:46Um, and we want to read those two
36:49verses. Let's learn something here.
36:51We're talking about stop letting in
36:54insecurity rewrite your identity.
36:59Many [snorts] of you in this room, those
37:01of you are streaming,
37:03you're struggling with insecurity.
37:05There's something about you. Remember
37:06the the sermon on Sunday? You look in
37:08the mirror and you're allowing society
37:11to define who you are,
37:13>> your failures, your past. Well, let's
37:16see what Moses did.
37:19almost miss his blessing because he was
37:24struggling with insecurity. Please read.
37:27[clears throat]
37:29>> So now go. I'm sending you to Pharaoh to
37:32bring my people, the Israelites, out of
37:35Egypt. But Moses said to God, "Who am I
37:38that I shall go to Pharaoh and bring the
37:40Israelites out of Egypt?"
37:43>> That's verse 11. Read it again, please.
37:46But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I
37:49shall go to Pharaoh and bring the
37:50Israelites out of Egypt?"
37:52>> Now, thank you. Here's the thing you
37:54NEED TO UNDERSTAND.
37:56GOD came to Moses,
37:59the man who was born into a crisis,
38:05the man who murdered someone, had his
38:10name in the just the the the the system,
38:14if you will, the judicial uh system. God
38:18came to him and say, "I want to use
38:21you."
38:22>> What was his response?
38:24Who am I?
38:30>> He had no idea who he was.
38:35>> And I think God is looking on the earth
38:37and looking in this room and looking at
38:39those of you are streaming right now and
38:42he's telling you who you are and he's
38:45calling you into greatness. But you keep
38:48telling him through your mind and your
38:50actions
38:53that you're nobody.
38:54>> Jesus,
38:57>> you can't do you can't do it because of
39:00what happened in the past. You can't do
39:01it because of how you see yourself. He
39:04said, "Who am I? Why are you asking me?
39:09I can't do that.
39:11Who am I? Can anybody love me?
39:15Will anybody marry me? Who am I?
39:19Can I ever get on my feet financially
39:22ever again? Who am I?
39:26Can I ever uh start that business again
39:29and and and this time will it succeed?
39:32Who am I? God is saying, "Hey, I want to
39:35use you." But his first response, who am
39:38I?
39:40Lost his identity.
39:43Many of you are in that same situation
39:45right now.
39:47You are rewriting your story, telling
39:48the world and telling yourself that
39:51you're a nobody. That's exactly what
39:53Moses was saying. I'm a nobody.
39:56I think there's a old song out there.
40:00I'm a nobody just trying to be a summer.
40:03Jesus, that is
40:06crazy, man. We We used to sing some
40:08songs, man. It's crazy.
40:12I'm a nobody trying to be somebody.
40:16>> That's not scriptural.
40:20God who created Moses
40:25through through his mother, the birthing
40:28of his mother said to him, "I want to
40:32use you. I want you to go."
40:37This is good. I didn't think of this. I
40:39didn't think it just got hit me.
40:42Moses was born.
40:45Pharaoh wanted to kill him.
40:48Now he grew up. And the same man who was
40:52trying to kill him, God took his
40:54daughter,
40:55bring him to the house, paid his mama,
40:57whatever. Now God says, "I want you to
41:01go back to that same joker."
41:07>> And I want you to tell that joker, it's
41:09time to let my people go.
41:12>> Cuz sometimes what you're going through
41:14is not just for you. It's generation
41:16after you.
41:19>> Oh, I felt that one. [applause]
41:23>> I felt that one.
41:26>> Thank you, Jesus. Some of you, you think
41:27what you're going through is just for
41:29you. It's for your children's children's
41:31children.
41:33[applause]
41:36>> And I love what God did. God says, "I'm
41:38going to send you back to the man who's
41:39trying to kill you." Woo! Glory to God.
41:42I'll send you back to talk to him. Let
41:44my people go. And then instead of him
41:47saying, "God, if you see that I can do
41:49it, I trust you. I'm ready. Here am I.
41:52Send me." Well, who am I?
41:56why you want to send me? And then he
41:58turned around, read it, he started
42:01having a conversation with God. And God
42:03is still trying to say, you're the man.
42:06He said, I have a speech impediment.
42:18>> I can't I I I I cuz he's
42:26stutter.
42:34>> I
42:36can't talk to them people.
42:41[laughter]
42:50>> I mean, we laugh. We laugh,
42:54but I am telling you, you have no idea
42:59that God doesn't Woo! He's not asking
43:02you for your best.
43:05[cheering]
43:06>> He can't do nothing with your best
43:10somehow. I don't know why, he looks for
43:13the worst. He looks for something that
43:17you can't do by yourself so that he can
43:20use it. So when it actually gets done,
43:23you can't say, "I did it."
43:26>> OH, [screaming] YOU CAN'T SAY, "I DID
43:28IT." YOU HAVE TO GIVE HIM THE CREDIT.
43:33>> Are you hearing me tonight?
43:37>> Some of you are trying to put your own
43:39abilities in the equation
43:42>> and God is saying, "No,
43:44>> LET ME USE YOUR BROKENNESS.
43:47LET ME USE YOUR PAIN. LET ME USE WHAT
43:50YOU'RE STRUGGLING WITH right now because
43:53when I use it, I get the glory.
43:58Woo. Let me move on here for time's
44:00sake. Glory to God. Man, this is so good
44:03here. And number five, the final one.
44:06Well, before I go to number five, let me
44:08ask you another question here. What
44:10excuse
44:12have you been using
44:14that God is asking you to release?
44:19What excuse are you using that God is
44:21saying release it? Well, I can't go back
44:24to school because of this and this.
44:26Really?
44:28Some of you, you're you're saying, "God,
44:3010 years from now, I want you to open
44:32doors." And God is saying, "I put so
44:34many things before you,
44:36>> but you're coming up with all the
44:37excuses. You don't have to." Some of you
44:40too busy, and your busyiness is
44:42cancelceing out what God has intended
44:45for you.
44:46>> And you know what? Your busyiness is
44:48just you're just wasting time.
44:51>> You're busy doing nothing.
44:55>> Absolutely nothing.
44:58>> Very busy every day. You have no time.
45:00You're exhausted. Exhausted doing
45:02nothing.
45:06>> There's some people you just talk to.
45:07You just go up to them, start talking to
45:09them. You are exhausted now because the
45:11way they're talking, they're exhausted.
45:13Their whole day is full of this. Your
45:16calendar is too full of nothing.
45:23>> Are you hearing me?
45:25>> So, you need to release it. Let it go.
45:27Whatever you you you think um you know
45:31um the devil has put in your mind that
45:33you can't do. No. Focus on what God has
45:36called you to do. You only have 24 hours
45:39a day. Maximize it. Last one. God sees
45:44who you are becoming, not who you were.
45:51>> If you can, if you can believe this, he
45:55sees who you are becoming, not who you
45:58are.
46:00See, some of you are over here. You're
46:02you're over your past. You you're
46:04hanging out. Well, what what happened
46:08yesterday, what happened last year, what
46:09happened five years ago? uh this is how
46:12people look at you. This this is your
46:15reality. When God is saying, "No, no,
46:17no. I see something greater in you.
46:21>> I see purpose in you." Philippians 1:6.
46:24Somebody find that and then somebody
46:26Ephesians 2:10 and then we'll try to
46:28wrap this up.
46:30All right. Uh Philippians 1:6. Somebody
46:33read that quickly. Quickly shout it out.
46:37Philippians 1:6. Raise your hand. Who's
46:40going to read Philippians 1:6?
46:44>> Okay. Yes. Quickly. Quickly. And the
46:47other person who's going to read um
46:50Ephesians 2:10, please stand so we can
46:53identify you. Go ahead.
46:54>> All right. Being confident of this that
46:56he who began a good work in you
46:59>> will carry it on to completion until the
47:01day of Jesus Christ.
47:02>> Now, he said, stay right there. Read it
47:05one more time.
47:07>> Being confident of
47:08>> Okay, stop right there. Being what?
47:10>> Confident.
47:11>> How important is confidence?
47:15>> If you have no confidence,
47:17>> then you won't believe the good work
47:19that God is doing in you. If you don't
47:22learn to have self-confidence
47:25that you you have what it takes to do
47:29what God wants you to do, then you're
47:31never going to do it. If you leave your
47:34confidence up to somebody else telling
47:36you that you can,
47:39I'm telling you, man, you're in a sad
47:42situation. Yes. Please read uh Ephesians
47:452:10. Thank you.
47:47>> Okay. This is from the Amplified
47:48Version.
47:49>> Yes. For we are his workmanship, his own
47:53master work, a work of art, created in
47:56Christ Jesus, reborn from above,
48:00spiritually transformed, renewed, ready
48:03to be used for good works, which God
48:06prepared for us beforehand, taking paths
48:10which he set, so that we would walk in
48:14them, living the good life which he
48:17pre-arranged, and made ready for us.
48:22>> We are his workmanship. Thank you. We
48:26are his
48:27>> workmanship to do what? Bad works.
48:32>> So every human being possessed the the
48:36ability to do good works.
48:42The important thing is who or what are
48:46you allowing to bring the bad works out
48:49of you?
48:52>> You are created to do good works. But
48:54Satan, on the other hand, will bring
48:57people in your life to pull the bad out
49:00of you. Some people are anointed
49:04>> to pull the bad out of you.
49:10I mean, seriously, some people are
49:11assigned by the devil
49:14>> to test you.
49:18>> I mean, to test you. You are a loving
49:22person, kind. You don't bother nobody.
49:26But the enemy,
49:29he got somebody assigned to you because
49:32he sees good works in you. He doesn't
49:35want those things to come out. So he's
49:38got to put something whether it's a
49:40person or situations,
49:43circumstances,
49:45so that the bad would come out of you
49:48and not the good. Cuz even though you're
49:50born again, you're saved.
49:54Right? Remember, your faith journey
49:57requires you to put the body under what?
50:00Subjection.
50:02So there's always a war. Just because
50:04you're born again don't mean you won't
50:06be tempted.
50:10>> Come on now. Be tempted. Let me tell you
50:12something. If before you got born again,
50:16you know how to cuss
50:19and pull out a knife like Peter and you
50:22got saved. Oh, wonderful. You read your
50:25Bible every day and you're walking the
50:28straight line and you're serving God.
50:30Listen, don't fool yourself. The devil
50:34will send somebody in your life and they
50:37will push that wrong button and before
50:40you know it, you jump out of the
50:42anointing.
50:45[laughter]
50:47Back to what you used to be. Don't even
50:51look at me that way. You know I'm
50:53telling the truth. Since you've been
50:55born again, you are ashamed of yourself
50:58of certain things that you have set OUT
51:00OF YOUR HOLY MOUTH.
51:07>> And you know, don't look at me that way
51:09talking about that. I never No, you
51:11know, you said some stuff
51:14>> because the other twin
51:20[laughter]
51:25Now you know I'm tell some of you the
51:27right twin comes to church.
51:31>> See that we we got the good twin
51:34tonight. You
51:37but tomorrow
51:39by Friday.
51:42[laughter]
51:43Come on now. We got a bad one and we
51:46struggle. This is a struggle.
51:49Which of the twin will control us?
51:54>> Come on now.
51:55>> That's why Jesus had to say to the
51:57devil, Jesus who is the perfect one,
52:02get thee behind.
52:05Cuz the devil was looking to see if he
52:08could find the bad in him.
52:13But God says, "No, no." He was able to
52:16respond. get thee behind me. It is
52:19written,
52:21>> you're never going to get me to react in
52:24a way that takes me out of my godly
52:28character. Let me end with this. Moses
52:31went from a hidden baby to a palace son.
52:36Your life can be transformed.
52:40You you you can be currently in a bad
52:43situation, but listen, if you keep on
52:45living, keep on trusting God, God can
52:48elevate you to greatness.
52:50Moses went from being a what? A fugitive
52:54to what? A leader, an insecure man to a
52:58what? A deliverer. So, here are some
53:00things you should consider right now.
53:03You were born before, excuse me, you
53:06were chosen before you were born.
53:09You were chosen before you were born.
53:11Never forget that. You are not an
53:15afterthought.
53:17>> Your past cannot cancel your future.
53:21Stop placing limits on what God can do
53:25through you. It's never too late to
53:28become who God created you to be. So,
53:32here's what you need to do is to change
53:34your narrative. Stop speaking from your
53:38past and start speaking from God's what
53:43promises. Stop speaking from your past.
53:48What is the promises of God over your
53:50life? What are the promises I should say
53:52of God over your life? Start speaking
53:55from that angle that I know I'm blessed.
53:59I know I'm prosperous.
54:01I know I'm full of hope and so forth.
54:04Right? Embrace the process that you're
54:06going through. Every season is preparing
54:08you for a purpose. Every season, every
54:12season. Moses, every season he went
54:16through prepared him for God's purpose
54:19for his life. So say yes to God even
54:24when you feel unqualified.
54:27Say yes to him.
54:30I I want five years from now, you're a
54:32better person than you are today.
54:35Five years from now, I want you to grow
54:37spiritually. I want to make sure that
54:41when it comes to your relationship, your
54:43family, your finances, you're in a
54:45better position. You write that story.
54:48Your pastor can't write it for you. Your
54:51family member, your friend, and quite
54:53honestly, your spouse can't uh write
54:55your story. You have to write it.
54:58So maybe you need to pause for a moment
55:00and rewrite your story and stop allowing
55:04your feelings,
55:06what you're hearing, and what people are
55:08telling you to write your story. So
55:12you're not a mistake. You are not your
55:15mistakes.
55:17You are not a mistake and you're not
55:19your mistakes. And you're not your
55:22trauma. Everybody have been through it.
55:26Some of you women,
55:29you've gone through a lot, but you're
55:31not your trauma.
55:34You're not I I don't know what else to
55:36tell you. You maybe you need somebody to
55:38have a pity party with you. No, it it
55:40doesn't help you.
55:43It doesn't help you. If you're down in
55:45the pit, please don't have a party in
55:49the pit.
55:50Don't invite people to come down and
55:53have a party with you in the pit. You
55:56need somebody who can stretch their
55:58hands and say, "It's time you come up
56:00out of that situation." Come on now. Are
56:02you hearing me?
56:04And you're not your limitations. Father,
56:07we thank you for this time of study
56:10tonight
56:11that what Moses went through
56:16is actually
56:19something that can help us in our faith
56:21journey today.
56:25Thank you that you're giving us the
56:28strength
56:30to
56:32rewrite our own story to live our lives
56:35according to your perfect will
56:39to become the best version of ourselves
56:42so that we can walk in your purpose.
56:45That what we have heard tonight
56:49um be a guiding light to help us
56:55to navigate the next 5, 10 years of our
56:58lives. I pray for those who are here,
57:01those who are streaming,
57:04that we'll become better and better and
57:09more conformed
57:11to your will so that the good works
57:16that's already in us can come forth.
57:20Thank you for this night. bless our
57:23given. Thank you for the people who are
57:25supporting us week after week so that we
57:29can live kingdom culture. We give you
