0:17No, no, don't patty cake with it. If you

0:19really love him from the depths of your

0:21heart and your soul,

0:24come on. Open up your mouth

0:27and say, "Lord, I love you.

0:29Lord, you're the best thing that ever

0:31happened to my life.

0:33You're the greatest thing that ever I

0:34encountered.

0:36Thank you for saving me. Thank you for

0:38setting me free. We love you today,

0:40Lord.

0:41Come on, worship. We love you today,

0:43Lord.

0:45We magnify you.

0:47There's no other person on the planet

0:49that has ever walked the face of the

0:51earth like you. You are alpha and omega,

0:54at the beginning and my end.

0:56God God, you foreknew that this day

0:58would be before we were formed in our

1:01mother's belly, you knew us.

1:04You knew that we would all be gathered

1:06together on October 8th today, and we

1:10worship you. Lift your hands for 30

1:18Lord, I don't know what the future

1:20holds, but I know you hold the future.

1:23I know I don't know everything,

1:26but God, you're my everything.

1:35your voice has guided me. Has guided me

1:38through the valleys, guided me through

1:40the mountains and the valleys and the

1:42and and the storms in my life. Thank you

1:48Thank you for bringing me through every

1:50trial. Thank you for bringing me

1:52through, God. God, thank you, God, for

1:56bringing me through.

1:58God, WHEN I FORGOT ABOUT YOU, YOU

2:00REMINDED me how good you are. And today

2:03we give you glory and honor and praise.

2:12I'll never forget what you've done for

2:14me.

2:15You are an amazing God.

2:17And we worship you today. One last time,

2:20just clap your hands and

2:24look at your person on your left and

2:25right say, "I'm grateful this morning."

3:08I want to take a moment to honor Pastor

3:10Carol. God bless you. We honor you. We

3:13honor the gift that you are, the

3:15blessings you are.

3:17I honor your sons, Zion and and

3:20Elijah. I I honor them. I am a PK, so I

3:24know growing up through all the years of

3:27the sacrifices

3:28and and the people that are a part of

3:31our lives that don't necessarily have

3:34the same blood running through our

3:35veins, but we invited people into our

3:37lives and

3:39and so I honor them as well for

3:42for who they are. Let's clap our hands

3:44for their sons.

3:48And to all the pastors and all the

3:50leaders, Pastor Kevin and uh all the

3:53other pastors, uh

3:55I honor you.

3:56And to the

3:58to the man himself,

4:02it's Pastor Appreciation Month.

4:06And y'all got the dopest pastor on the

4:08planet. Oh, I'm not supposed to say dope

4:11in church, but

4:17since I got a mic and I'm not going to

4:19be here for Pastor's Appreciation Sunday

4:20on the 22nd, I'm going to say what I

4:23need to say.

4:25Let the devil be mad

4:28at whatever I'm going to say, but

4:31I just want to take a moment because

4:33most people ask the questions, "Are

4:36leaders born or are leaders made?"

4:39But not many people ask the question,

4:42"How are leaders sustained?"

4:48And you, sir,

4:50have rock steady.

4:53You, sir, have modeled faith,

4:56tenaciousness,

4:57passion, vision, in season, out of

5:01season.

5:03You have modeled it.

5:05And our generation stands and marvels at

5:08the greatness that God has unveiled

5:10through your life.

5:13I stand

5:15as a preacher of the gospel that started

5:17at 19 years old.

5:20I stand being called on my college

5:22campus, Claflin University,

5:25being called to the gospel of Jesus

5:27Christ.

5:28And to watch you I've I've just come I

5:31come late to the party, y'all. Y'all

5:32been here, but I've come late to the

5:33party.

5:35But to watch you

5:37and to hear your voice in my life

5:41and for you to help me and to coach me

5:45and to shift my perspective,

5:47my heart as a leader,

5:50I admire you from the depths of my soul.

5:55And I thank you.

5:58Whether you ever invite me to your

6:00church, you are stuck with me.

6:05LOOK AT BISHOP AND SAY, "YOU STUCK WITH

6:07TRAVIS."

6:10I love how you love life.

6:12I love how

6:14how serious I am by how much you tell

6:17me "Chill man.

6:20It's going to be all right."

6:22And I thank you for that. You have

6:24modeled that.

6:26And I celebrate you this this day. Now

6:28on I want you I want you when they do

6:32Pastor Appreciation, I believe it's on

6:35the 22nd,

6:36I want you to get behind the leadership

6:39of the church

6:41and send notes, send messages. Don't

6:44take this great general for granted.

6:48Everybody doesn't have a Bishop Henry

6:50Fernandez in their life.

6:52We are blessed.

6:58So a tangible seed,

7:00bring a tangible seed.

7:03What is a tangible seed? Cuz y'all like

7:05that's church talk. Bring some money.

7:10Bring something and share it. You never

7:13know how much we need to hear

7:17that the word that the Lord has given to

7:20the pastor has impacted your life. So

7:23don't hold back.

7:25Celebrate your man of God. Let's

7:39I brought a word.

7:41I didn't come here empty-handed.

7:43I want to honor my brother. I got my

7:46brother with me, y'all. I mean, this is

7:48my real brother.

7:50This is the one that if you jump in

7:52front of me if you try anything with me,

7:55he going to take you out. He military.

7:58He will take you out and out. So don't

8:05But I honor him, my old my older

8:07brother, my only brother, Neil Simmons.

8:10I celebrate him for traveling with me.

8:12All right. I got a few scriptures and

8:15I'mma let you go.

8:17First Corinthians chapter 15.

8:25I believe it is verse nine.

8:29Verse 10. Y'all have it?

8:34This is Paul, the Apostle Paul.

8:37Verse nine says, "For I am the least of

8:40these apostles

8:43and don't even deserve to be called an

8:46apostle

8:49because I persecuted the church of God.

8:53But by the grace of God, I am

8:59what I am.

9:00And his grace to me was with not without

9:05effect.

9:07No, I worked No, I want you to know I

9:10worked harder than all of them.

9:13Yet not I, but the grace of God that was

9:18within me. I want to preach on the

9:21eighth day of October.

9:24I was born on the 8th of March, so eight

9:26has a special

9:28place in my The number eight has a

9:30special place in my heart. I want to

9:33preach from this simple subject this

9:35morning. I'm becoming the me I'm

9:38supposed to be.

9:42Look at somebody beside you and say,

9:44"I'm becoming the me

9:47I'm supposed to be."

9:49You may be seated.

10:03I'm becoming the me I'm supposed to be.

10:09As I look across this

10:12auditorium

10:14this sanctuary, this temple

10:19the Lord pressed upon my heart

10:21to tell you

10:25on this eighth day

10:28that he is deeply concerned

10:31about you.

10:34He's concerned about your focus.

10:38He's concerned about your future.

10:40He's concerned about how you're handling

10:43your gifts.

10:45How you're handling your talents. He's

10:46concerned about your well-being. He's

10:49concerned about your mentality.

10:53He's concerned about your perspective.

10:56He's concerned about your intentions.

10:58He's concerned about your desires,

11:02your heart

11:04your time

11:06who you give your time to.

11:09How you serve him and more importantly

11:12how you serve others.

11:15GOD IS CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR SELF-CARE.

11:20WHAT YOU SAY TO yourself when you look

11:23into the mirror.

11:25He's concerned about what you have

11:27allowed people to say and the monikers

11:30and the ideas even the childhood traumas

11:33that

11:34continue to somehow

11:37COME INTO YOUR LIFE LIKE A WAVE EVERY 5

11:41years or every 10 years or how the the

11:44the the remembrance of that setback

11:48that every time God blesses you

11:51you walk in fear or get paralyzed with

11:55that fear because you're so fearful you

11:58don't want to mess it up.

12:03God's concerned about what YOU'RE

12:05BUILDING.

12:07GOD'S CONCERNED about the team around

12:09you.

12:10God's concerned about how you are

12:15growing.

12:19And more importantly he's concerned

12:22about

12:24who you are becoming.

12:27Now Maslow, I mean any any person that's

12:30studied psychology or philosophy there

12:34there is Dr. Abraham Maslow

12:37and

12:38he has this principle called

12:43that that that he begins to he wrote a

12:45book called the motivation and

12:46personalities the hierarchy of needs and

12:50there are basic needs that all of us

12:52have is survival and safety love and

12:55belonging, significance and self-respect

12:58and the last one on that hierarchy of

13:00need is growth and becoming

13:04self-actualization.

13:08And I have come to the conclusion

13:12that sometimes we don't think that the

13:15seasons in our life where we feel

13:19insignificant

13:21or that we feel like we are SURVIVING

13:26THAT GOD'S NOT DOING SOMETHING in that

13:28season.

13:32Somebody you walked in here today and as

13:35we were worshipping and as we were

13:37lifting up the name of Jesus

13:40you looked up

13:42at the people around you and say I don't

13:44feel what you feel.

13:47And I don't FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL BECAUSE

13:49WHAT I feel most close to me is what I'm

13:53going through.

13:55The diagnosis that was just pronounced

13:58to me, the loss that I just experienced

14:02the things that I'm trying to work

14:04through in my life

14:06that every time I get into worship I'm

14:08thinking about what I'm not versus who

14:11God created me to be.

14:14God sent me here today

14:17to announce to you

14:19that even IN YOUR SEASON OF SURVIVAL

14:23HIS HAND is on you.

14:26THAT EVEN WHEN YOU CAN'T FEEL HIM HE

14:29STILL KNOWS you by name.

14:40Fascinating

14:42as it is

14:44I heard some years ago

14:49that an acorn is a sleeping tree.

14:55That inside of the acorn

14:59is not just the potentiality

15:02of a tree

15:03but everything that the tree needs to

15:07actually become the tree itself is

15:10inside of the acorn.

15:16Watermelon seed

15:18anybody had some watermelon this summer?

15:21I did. We live in Texas it's too hot not

15:23to have watermelon.

15:27Every seed that you spit out of your

15:30mouth with your favorite fruit

15:34and throw in the trash

15:37has the potency and the power

15:41to be the very thing that you ate.

15:50That every seed

15:53hey

15:57inside of it

16:00if it goes through the right process

16:03if it goes through the right

16:05process

16:07it will become the thing that you never

16:09imagined that it could become.

16:14That in every seed

16:17is the potential

16:19for it to be

16:21what you picked

16:23that fruit off of.

16:28Ooh, I'm getting excited in my spirit

16:30this morning cuz I'm looking at some

16:33people that are in a process that are

16:36becoming more than the seed that was

16:39planted in you.

16:40My God help me. God help me. God help

16:43me.

16:48I did a little bit of research

16:51and I discovered

16:53that the only way for that seed

16:59to go through what they call a

17:01germination process

17:06is

17:08they have to be put in the dirt put in

17:10the ground

17:12watered

17:13but watch this

17:14you can do all of that

17:17but if the moisture doesn't touch the

17:20seed

17:23and what they call the seed coat

17:27does not unravel

17:30that seed will never become what it was

17:32designed to be.

17:37And some of you under THE SOUND OF MY

17:38VOICE YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR LIFE is

17:43unraveling.

17:46THAT THERE'S SOME STUFF

17:48that God you thought was supposed to be

17:51there

17:52that you thought that God was going to

17:53keep there that you thought that your

17:56life was going to be that the way it is

17:58and you know anybody ever go went

18:00through a season where things around you

18:02just begin to unravel?

18:05That that that that God says you're

18:06going to bless and you're going to walk

18:08in the miracle but that miracle you get

18:10a pink slip the next day. Y'all know

18:11what

18:13YES, GOD I'M PRAISING YOU FOR MY MIRACLE

18:15but

18:16you lost your job the next day. YOU'RE

18:17LIKE GOD HOW DOES THIS AMOUNT UP? I

18:19DON'T LOOK LIKE WHAT YOU PROMISED ME.

18:22GOD SAYS I HAVE TO TAKE YOU THROUGH a

18:24process for some stuff to unravel around

18:28you because if I don't unravel it WHAT'S

18:32INSIDE OF you will never come out.

18:37See that's hard for some believers to

18:40actually grab a hold TO BECAUSE WE ONLY

18:43SEE our lives THROUGH OUR PROBLEMS AND

18:46NOT OUR PURPOSE.

18:47When you know what you have AND YOU KNOW

18:50WHAT YOU'VE BEEN GIVEN AND YOU KNOW WHAT

18:52YOU CAN STAND ON EVERYTHING around me

18:55can UNRAVEL BUT WHAT I WON'T DO IS allow

18:58my faith to unravel. TOUCH SOMEBODY

19:01BESIDE YOU SAY MY FAITH IS NOT GOING to

19:04unravel.

19:09It's unraveling.

19:11It unravels.

19:13It falls apart.

19:14It was supposed to be there. It was

19:16supposed to sustain me. It was only

19:18supposed to sustain you for a season.

19:21But when you get into THE POSTURE OF

19:24EVER BECOMING WHAT GOD designed some

19:26stuff has to fall off of you.

19:29Some people have to leave you.

19:32There has to be some TENSION SOMEWHERE

19:34FOR THE ACTUAL THING THAT'S IN the seed

19:37to break THROUGH AND YOU'RE TRYING TO

19:39FIGURE OUT GOD WHY IS THIS SEASON SO

19:42HARD? WHY AM I CRYING? WHY AM I SO

19:45DISTURBED? WHY AM I SO MOODY and

19:47agitated whenever I'm trying to worship?

19:50I'm trying to seeing my therapist. I'M

19:51DOING EVERYTHING THAT I'm supposed TO

19:53DO, GOD, BUT IT JUST SEEM AS THOUGH I'M

19:55IN AN UNCOMFORTABLE SEASON. IT'S BECAUSE

19:58THE MOISTURE OF WORSHIP, THE MOISTURE OF

20:01PRAYER, THE MOISTURE OF THE WORD OF GOD

20:03IS WATERING YOUR LIFE, AND WHATEVER'S

20:06INSIDE OF YOU IS going to have to come

20:09out.

20:16Pastor Kevin, I'm going to take my time,

20:17all right?

20:24THE APOSTLE Paul

20:27knows exactly

20:30what it feels like for his life to

20:32unravel right before his eyes.

20:35In Acts chapter 9,

20:38the Bible says as he's persecuting

20:41the followers of the way,

20:44that a bright light from heaven shine

20:46down

20:47and said, "Why do you persecute me?"

20:52And watch this. And for 3 days,

20:57the seed called Saul can't see nothing.

21:05Cuz the seed has to go into a into the

21:09dirt, and the dirt inside the dirt is

21:11dark. And so for 3 days, Paul can't see.

21:17But he can still hear.

21:20You may not be able to see your way

21:21through it, but I want to tell you what

21:24you've lost in one area should amplify

21:27your ears in another area. I know YOU

21:29CAN'T SEE WHERE YOU'RE GOING, BUT YOU

21:31GOT TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHAT

21:34YOU hear

21:37is going to guide you even when you

21:38can't see your way.

21:45I'mma be calm like Bishop.

21:51BUT PAUL IS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND. I'm

21:55not going to go through the entire

21:56story, but I I want to highlight

21:59something for you that that that that I

22:01want you to know because God up until

22:03this point you would think that he's

22:04very well educated. I mean, he has

22:06degree more degrees than a thermometer.

22:09I mean, Paul is a bad boy. He's

22:11persecuting. He's a prosecutor. He's

22:13very well known, and you would think

22:14that he has achieved

22:17everything that he needed to achieve in

22:19life.

22:21So why would God unravel his life at

22:24this moment?

22:26WHY WOULD GOD CAUSE THIS thing to happen

22:29right now?

22:31You may say, "Well, it's because he

22:32wanted Paul to preach the gospel and

22:34everything." And I do agree.

22:38But let me expose you to something that

22:40I stumbled upon teach uh uh

22:42uh uh

22:43studying

22:45that baffled me.

22:48I got to take you to the word. In Acts

22:50chapter 22, Paul is testifying.

22:55And in Paul's testimony

22:59about what happened,

23:02PAUL SAYS,

23:05"THE GOD

23:07OF OUR ancestors

23:10has chose

23:12you

23:14to know his will." That This is what

23:15he's saying that the Lord said to him.

23:17He said HE SAID, "THE GOD OF OUR

23:20ANCESTORS has chosen you to know his

23:23will, to see the righteous one, and to

23:27hear the words from his mouth. AND YOU

23:30WILL BE HIS witness to all people

23:35of what you've been

23:37what you have seen and what what you

23:39have heard." Can I pause right there? I

23:42wish I had a marker that I could go back

23:45to that first verse on on on in in in in

23:48verse 14. It says, "The God of our

23:50ancestors, the God of our ancestors,

23:53Yahweh, the God of our ancestors has

23:57chosen you." I want to pause right here

24:01and confirm to some and announce to some

24:04others that God has chosen you. He

24:08selected you. He picked you. What? You

24:12think you've been picked over, BUT GOD

24:14SAYS, "NO, I HAD TO PICK THROUGH some

24:16stuff in order to GET TO YOU." WHY? CUZ

24:19YOU TRIED TO HIDE FROM ME. YOU TRIED TO

24:21ACT LIKE

24:24Y'ALL BETTER TALK BACK TO me in this

24:26beautiful church. He picked you. HE SET

24:29YOU APART. HE prefers you. He elected

24:32you. He handpicked you. He designed YOU.

24:35HE DESIGNATED YOU. HIS name is on you.

24:39HE NAMED YOU. HE MADE SURE THAT YOU GOT

24:41INTO THE EARTH BECAUSE OF THE CALLING

24:44THAT IS ON YOUR LIFE. I NEED SOMEBODY TO

24:46SHOUT OUT, "HE CHOSE ME." YES, he did.

24:49Yes, he did. Yes, he did. HE CHOSE ME.

24:53AND BECAUSE HE CHOSE ME, YOU CAN'T

24:55UNCHOOSE ME.

25:02BECAUSE HE CHOSE ME, BECAUSE HE SET ME

25:05APART. I DON'T CARE WHO DIDN'T LIKE

25:07DAVID. I DIDN'T CARE WHO HATED ON DAVID.

25:10I DON'T CARE WHO IN THE HOUSE I DON'T

25:12CARE WHAT OTHER BROTHERS OF OF OF DAVID

25:15DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT THE OIL WAS RUNNING

25:18DOWN ON David's head.

25:20DON'T YOU MAKE ANOTHER EXCUSE. DON'T YOU

25:23APOLOGIZE TO NOBODY WHY YOU'RE GIFTED,

25:27WHY YOU ANOINTED, WHY YOU ARE TALENTED.

25:30I DON'T KNOW. HE CHOSE ME.

25:33AND BECAUSE I DIDN'T CHOOSE MYSELF, YOU

25:37NEED TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE CREATOR, THE

25:39ONE THAT DID MAKE IT. I NEED YOU

25:44take it up with THE MANUFACTURER. THE

25:46MANUFACTURER IS THE ONE THAT CREATED ME.

25:49WHY I LOOK SO GOOD, I DON'T KNOW.

25:55WHY I'M GIFTED, WHY YOU'RE TALENTED, WHY

25:58YOU'RE AMAZING, WHY YOU'RE AWESOME, I

26:01DON'T KNOW WHY HE DID IT. ALL I KNOW IS

26:04HE CHOSE ME. HIGH-FIVE SOMEBODY RIGHT

26:06BESIDE YOU AND TELL THEM HE chose me. HE

26:09CHOSE ME. HE CHOSE ME EVEN when I didn't

26:12want to be chose. HE CHOSE ME even when

26:15I hid from him. HE CHOSE ME EVEN WHEN I

26:19WAS DOING EVERYTHING TO TRY TO

26:20DISQUALIFY ME FROM EVER BEING CHOSEN, HE

26:24chose me.

26:27He chose me. He chose me. He chose me.

26:31He chose me. He chose me. HE'S CHOSEN

26:34ME. IT'S ALREADY SETTLED. BEFORE THE

26:36FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD, HE CHOSE ME.

26:39YOU need to walk with YOUR HEAD UP HIGH

26:41THIS WEEK KNOWING THAT HE CHOSE ME.

26:44KNOWING THAT HE I'M GOING THROUGH THE

26:46STORM KNOWING THAT HE CHOSE ME. I'M

26:48GOING THROUGH THE VALLEY KNOWING HE

26:49CHOSE ME. I'M GOING TO CHEMO TREATMENTS

26:52KNOWING HE CHOSE ME. He chose ME FOR

26:54THIS BATTLE. HE CHOSE ME FOR THIS

26:56AFFLICTION. HE CHOSE ME TO AND I'M NOT

26:59GOING TO FAIL HIM. I'M GOING TO STAND IN

27:01MY CHOSENNESS.

27:06I need SOMEBODY I NEED SOMEBODY TO GET

27:09DEMONSTRATIVE TO STICK OUT YOUR CHEST

27:11AND SAY HE CHOSE ME.

27:14I AM NO LONGER GOING TO TAKE A BACKSEAT

27:17ACTING LIKE I AIN'T CHOSEN.

27:21He chose me. He chose ME TO DO IT. HE

27:24CHOSE ME TO SAY IT. HE CHOSE ME TO BUILD

27:26IT. HE CHOSE ME TO MANUFACTURE IT. HE

27:29CHOSE ME TO CREATE. AND I AIN'T MAKING

27:31NO MORE EXCUSES. SORRY, Y'ALL. I'm from

27:34South Carolina, so I don't have correct

27:36vernacular like you Floridians.

27:38But I ain't got time to waste on nobody

27:46THAT'S NOT GOING TO RESPECT THE FACT

27:49THAT HE CHOSE ME. SOME OF YOU HAVE

27:51WASTED TOO MUCH TIME TRYING TO PROVE

27:54YOURSELF TO PEOPLE THAT

54:45FEEL THE PRESSURE. I KNOW YOU FEEL THE

57:24power of THE HOLY SPIRIT. BUT GUESS WHAT

57:26THERE is nothing that I will be able to

57:28do without the grace of God. HOW DO YOU

57:32THINK THE FAITH CENTER WAS BUILT? HOW DO

57:34YOU THINK THIS GREAT MAN OF GOD COULD

57:36STAND THIS MANY YEARS BEYOND THREE

57:38DECADES? HOW DO YOU THINK THAT THIS

57:41COULD HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED? IT'S ALL

57:43BEEN BY THE WHAT? GRACE OF GOD. Would

57:46you high-five somebody AND TELL THEM

57:48GUESS WHAT? DO YOU HAVE GRACE? DO YOU

57:50HAVE GRACE? Do you know that you have

57:52grace working in your favor? That you

57:55have GRACE PUSHING YOU AND MOVING YOU

57:58and helping YOU AND ASSISTING YOU to

58:01help YOU ALIGN WITH YOUR PURPOSE AND

58:03YOUR DESTINY? That God has it.

58:09God's giving you his gift, keys.

58:15And what the grace of God does

58:17is the grace of God eliminates your

58:20excuses.

58:22It says even when you don't think you

58:23can do it, I'm going to show you that if

58:26you trust me, I'll lead you through it.

58:31The grace of God takes a hold of your

58:33life.

58:37enables you and empowers you

58:40and shows you

58:43and helps you

58:45and maneuvers you

58:47to the place

58:51that people will stand back and marvel

60:01ability to put you before kings, to put

60:03you before influencers, to put YOU

60:05BEFORE THINGS THAT YOU NEVER IMAGINED

60:07THAT YOU WOULD BE IN. THAT GOD WOULD

60:09HAVE YOU DOING PRESENTATIONS AND DOING

60:12THINGS IN FRONT OF PEOPLE THAT YOU NEVER

60:14IT'S ALL BY THE grace of God. You Don't

60:18you know that God will allow you to

60:20receive FUNDING FOR YOUR BUSINESS BY THE

60:23GRACE OF GOD. GOD WILL CAUSE YOU TO GAIN

60:25FAVOR WITH SOMEBODY AT A GAS STATION

60:28just for that person TO BE A BIKER AND

60:30to say, "Guess what? I thank you for

60:32helping me and because you helped me,

60:34whatever you need, I got your back."

60:37Don't you know that the grace of God has

60:42opportunities and strategic moments to

60:46sit by somebody on a plane because God

60:49says it's your time. I came to prophesy
