Summary

Bishop Henry Fernandez teaches that while chaos and trouble are inevitable in life, believers can find unshakable peace by guarding their hearts, embracing God's promises, and refusing to let difficult people or circumstances dictate their internal joy.

Key points
  • Chaos is an unavoidable reality of the human experience that will persist until Christ returns; the goal for a believer is not to escape drama but to learn how to live through it.
  • Proverbs 4:23 commands us to guard our hearts above all else because our entire life trajectory, actions, and reactions flow from our internal state.
  • Division within the church, whether based on culture, race, or class, is a sign of unguarded hearts and a lack of kingdom culture.
  • True peace is internal and rooted in God's promises rather than external circumstances, bank accounts, or the opinions of others.
  • One of the most powerful ways to protect your peace is to remain silent (the "zip it" principle) and allow God to fight your battles instead of reacting emotionally.

Life application

This week, when faced with a chaotic situation or a person who lacks peace, choose not to react or argue. Instead, 'zip it,' pray about what you cannot change, and intentionally recall a specific promise from God's word to anchor your emotions.

Reflection questions
  1. What 'wrong groups' or 'whispers' have you allowed to poison your ears and heart recently?
  2. Are you currently trying to change a person or situation that only God can change? How can you release that burden to Him today?
  3. Bishop Fernandez mentioned that 'some people operate in chaos because chaos lives inside them.' How can you maintain your peace when interacting with high-conflict individuals this week?
  4. In what ways have you allowed your peace to be tied to your bank account or social status rather than your identity in Christ?

0:00Let's stand for the reading of God's
0:02word, Proverbs 4:23
0:06and Romans 15:13.
0:11Two passages we will
0:14use as our foundation this morning. Do
0:17me a favor, at the end of the sermon
0:20I'm going to release those who are going
0:22to be baptized first so that they can
0:26vacate the auditorium
0:28and be ready by the time the service is
0:30dismissed. Right? So, if you could just
0:32hold your seat, don't leave, I would
0:35greatly appreciate that. All right? So,
0:37thank you so much.
0:40Well, according to Proverbs 4:23
0:45it's very relevant to where we are today
0:50um
0:51as it relates to
0:54um our theme for the month.
0:59Finding peace
1:01in the midst
1:03of chaos.
1:06Is it possible
1:08to find peace
1:10in the midst of chaos?
1:16A lot of you, your problem is you're not
1:18guarding the most important part of your
1:21life.
1:24You're allowing the enemy to get in
1:29to infiltrate,
1:31to penetrate
1:33the most sacred part of your life.
1:37And so, this scripture, Proverbs 4:23
1:40says, "ABOVE ALL ELSE,
1:44guard
1:46your heart
1:48for everything you do flows
1:52from it. Guard your heart."
1:57I wish some of you would guard your
1:59heart the way you guard your pocketbook.
2:08The way you guard your money.
2:12Guard your heart
2:14because everything the Bible says
2:17everything
2:19you do flows from it.
2:21Romans 15:13,
2:24it says, "May the God of hope
2:27fill you with all the joy and the peace
2:31in faith
2:33so that you overflow with hope
2:38by the power of the Holy Spirit."
2:41Father, do your thing today.
2:44Minister to your people.
2:46Revive us again
2:48and show us that we can find peace
2:52in the midst of chaos. Anoint your
2:54servant now in Jesus' name and everybody
2:58shout "Amen."
3:00You may be seated in the presence of the
3:03Lord.
3:05Here we find the Apostle Paul penned
3:08these words
3:10because the followers of Jesus Christ in
3:13those days
3:15were losing hope.
3:18No different from today.
3:21They were losing hope.
3:23And so, their faith had diminished and
3:28discouragement
3:29had set in because of the pressure the
3:32church
3:34was under.
3:36The church was in an identity
3:40crisis.
3:42Was in an identity crisis. Lower me
3:44down please here.
3:46So, Paul, as he always does
3:50stepped up as a prophetic voice
3:54encouraging believers
3:57to unite
3:59and to find joy in serving God
4:03and to be at peace
4:06with both Jews
4:09and Gentiles.
4:12It's no different today.
4:15People can't get along.
4:17People can't get along on the job.
4:20People can't get along
4:22with family.
4:24People can't get along even in the
4:27church.
4:28That's why Paul wrote this.
4:31He says, "It's time we believers
4:37get together
4:39and be at peace
4:42with Jews and Gentiles. WE MAY NOT
4:44ALWAYS AGREE.
4:47Our opinions
4:49may be different.
4:51But can we find peace?
4:54Can we find peace?
4:56I I know what they're doing to you on
4:59the job is is not right.
5:04But
5:05is it God's will for you to play dirty
5:08like them
5:11so you win?
5:13Does God need human reasonings and ways
5:17to win the battle?
5:20I know you're in a family drama right
5:23now.
5:25And you're like, "I CAN'T GET ALONG WITH
5:27MY BROTHERS AND MY sister Jews." The
5:30people of God.
5:32And then I can't get along with the
5:33people outside, the Gentiles.
5:36You see, the Christians in Rome
5:39were under severe pressure
5:42not only from outside religious systems
5:46but also from internal conflict within
5:49the church.
5:52So, for those of you who get bent out of
5:55shape when the church is in conflict,
5:57you're not reading your Bible.
6:00It's nothing new.
6:02There was a huge conflict going on and
6:05it was truly a chaotic time to be a
6:09Christian fully sold out to Jesus Christ
6:14and verse 13 specifically addressed the
6:18lack of harmony
6:21among the different cultures within the
6:24church.
6:26This is the struggle for a lot of
6:27churches, especially the American church
6:29today.
6:32We're supposed to be the body of Christ.
6:34We're supposed to be the called out.
6:36We're supposed to be the redeemed. We're
6:38supposed to be the ones who have been
6:40transformed
6:42in our thinking,
6:44yet we can be the most divided people.
6:50Divided people.
6:52We're full of racism.
6:55We're full of classism.
6:58Divided.
7:01We lack harmony when it comes to
7:04cultures.
7:06If somebody have an accent
7:09instantly, because it's embedded in us,
7:13we look at them differently.
7:17Because they come from a certain part of
7:19the world
7:22we look at them
7:24differently.
7:26Many of us, as believers who are
7:28supposed to be transformed in our
7:30thinking, WE STRUGGLE TO EMBRACE
7:33DIFFERENT CULTURES.
7:35The way people dance, the food they eat
7:39the way they dress
7:41the way they speak. Nothing new.
7:45NOTHING NEW. PAUL DEALT WITH IT
7:50in the word of God.
7:52The cultural divide that was going on.
7:56And we see this in America today.
7:59We see it where even the And And for me,
8:02I I just have to again
8:04ask God to give me peace in the midst of
8:07this
8:08chaotic season this this uh country is
8:12in. And we see it because there is No,
8:15now now some of you may rebuke me on
8:17this, but it is true. It is true. Some
8:20of the chaos that is in this country was
8:24caused by Christians.
8:30>> [applause]
8:33>> We did it.
8:36We did it
8:40with our biased beliefs.
8:44We did it.
8:46We have corrupted the church
8:49with our self-interest.
8:54We have.
8:55And so, Paul had to deal with this
8:58cultural differences.
9:01Who told you
9:05that in God's book in heaven
9:10he has a special reward just for
9:13Americans?
9:23Who told you that America
9:26is the apple of God's eye
9:31and everybody else is not?
9:36Do you not understand all of us came
9:39from the one God?
9:48It so happened you were born in Chicago,
9:50you were born in Los Angeles, you were
9:52born in Florida, you were born in and
9:54Georgia, I was born in Jamaica, you were
9:56born in Barbados, you were born in
9:58Trinidad, you were born in the Bahamas,
10:01you were born
10:02you know where you were born.
10:05But we all came from the same God.
10:16I'm loving it this morning.
10:18And
10:20you can put up
10:22Ooh, some of you going to rebuke me now.
10:25But you can put up all the borders you
10:27want.
10:32All of us going to die.
10:36And on the other side, ain't no borders.
10:41Okay, see I know I know you're you're
10:43rebuking me right now. You're like,
10:44"Stick to the word, pastor." Well, let
10:46me get back to the word.
10:49You see, the division in those days was
10:51so strong that Paul essentially pleaded
10:55with them.
10:57HE SAYS, "FILL YOUR HEART with joy." Cuz
11:02they lost joy.
11:04HE SAID, "FILL YOUR HEART WITH PEACE."
11:07WATCH THIS, IN FAITH. THE ONLY WAY YOU
11:10CAN FIND JOY and peace,
11:12it's in God.
11:15He said, "In faith, the faith that you
11:19have committed yourself to so that
11:22harmony can replace division."
11:26I don't know about you, man.
11:28We the church, we must get to a point
11:32where we're sick and tired of the
11:35division.
11:38At all levels.
11:41Division at the workplace, division in
11:43the community, division in family,
11:45division in church, division in in in
11:48our society.
11:50Now, here's where this is relevant to
11:53today's church, what happened in the
11:55days of Paul. Fast forward to today,
12:01and this verse is just as applicable to
12:04the condition of the body of Christ. It
12:08is.
12:09And that is the reason
12:11Proverbs 4:23 reminds us, "Above all
12:15else,
12:17careful.
12:19Above all else,
12:24guard this heart."
12:27Some of you started out well.
12:31Paul again, he said, "You did run well,
12:33but who hindered you?"
12:35Let me Can I take you back to the first
12:37day you surrendered your life over to
12:39Christ? Remember how excited you were?
12:43You know, that that's why for those of
12:45you who are are getting baptized this
12:47morning, I'm telling you, just because
12:49you're excited today and you're going to
12:51be baptized doesn't necessarily mean
12:54that you're going to be like this for
12:55the rest of your faith journey.
12:59Cuz a lot of us started out excited.
13:04We loved God.
13:06We had no hate in us.
13:09We had no hypocrisy in us.
13:13I mean, we were just going before God
13:16and with a clear conscience and we were
13:18serving him and we we we even felt the
13:21purity within.
13:24We keep on running in this faith
13:26journey. We keep on walking. We keep on
13:29living. But Paul said, "You did run
13:31well, but what hindered you?" All of a
13:33sudden,
13:35we got with the wrong group.
13:38Some of you, the reason why you are the
13:41way you are and unfortunately, some of
13:43you don't even know it, you have been
13:45poisoned
13:47through the ears.
13:52Your whole life has taken on a new
13:55trajectory
13:56because you've been poisoned.
14:00You had the wrong person in your car.
14:03You invited the wrong person at home.
14:06You went out to have coffee with the
14:09wrong person.
14:13The whispers.
14:15You did run well.
14:18And all of a sudden, now you're a
14:20believer and all you do, you dress up
14:24your religion,
14:26but in your heart
14:32in your heart is full of envy, strife,
14:35malice. Guard your heart. And you wonder
14:38why you're toxic?
14:42You wonder why you can't be trusted?
14:45You wonder why you're flip-flopper?
14:48You wonder why you're inconsistent?
14:50Because everything flows from what's in
14:53your heart. So, listen, when you find
14:56people being dishonest, when you find
14:58people doing crazy stuff, don't be
15:01shocked. It's in the heart.
15:06It's in the heart. Another scripture
15:08says, "So as a man think."
15:12SO, WHEN YOU FIND SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING,
15:14DON'T BE SHOCKED. YOU KNOW, SOMEBODY
15:16will say, you know, all of a sudden
15:18somebody rubbed them the wrong way and
15:20BLANKETY BLANKETY BLANKETY BLANK.
15:23YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, RIGHT?
15:25Some of you looking at me like, "What's
15:27that?"
15:30You know why?
15:36You cannot curse and especially curse
15:40well
15:43fluently
15:47>> [laughter]
15:49>> if it's not already in here. Come on,
15:52somebody ought to get It's It's It's
15:54here.
15:56You know I'm telling the truth.
15:59I also believe what Paul was trying to
16:01communicate to the people
16:04is this, a person's actions are a direct
16:08result of what's in their heart.
16:11So, if you do not guard your heart, if
16:14you do not guard your heart, then what
16:16flows from it will reflect whether
16:19you are walking in
16:22darkness
16:23or you're living according to kingdom
16:25culture.
16:26So, let me share with you the reality of
16:29chaos.
16:30It is extremely important that you
16:33understand how critical it is to guard
16:35your heart in the midst of chaos.
16:39And let me be clear that chaos is not
16:42going away.
16:45For those of you who are praying, "God,
16:47get this chaos out of my life. I rebuke
16:50it in Jesus' name." It's not going away.
16:53You can pray, you can fast, you can
16:54prophesy, you can declare that chaos
16:58will cease, but the truth is only on the
17:01day of Jesus' return will chaos fully
17:03cease.
17:08You will always
17:10have chaos drama with family.
17:14But love them anyway.
17:18You will always have chaos
17:21with
17:22the job. You will always have chaos in
17:24the community. You will always have
17:27chaos in the church.
17:30But how you react to it
17:34will determine if you're a kingdom
17:36citizen or if you're a kingdom of
17:39darkness. And I know that may not
17:43be something many of you want to hear,
17:45but some of you are praying for a life
17:48without drama, no attacks, no conflict
17:52from the enemy. You don't want any
17:54problems with family and you don't want
17:56any problem with people, but I will
17:59assure you today,
18:02every day there's going to be some drama
18:05in and around your life.
18:10And I know only about 100 people
18:11responded, so that means the rest of you
18:13are praying that the drama will cease.
18:16But it's not going anywhere. It's a part
18:20of our lives. It's a reality. And if you
18:22hold on to that kind of expectation,
18:25you will live frustrated, discouraged,
18:29and you will miss many God or ordained
18:33opportunities of your life. Expect
18:36drama.
18:38I know this is not something invited,
18:41but as a believer, the devil is going to
18:43do everything every day to test your
18:46faith.
18:49BUT YOU HAVE TO STAND STRONG and say,
18:51"I'm going to find peace in the midst of
18:54this chaos."
18:56That is why Job 14, if there's anybody
18:59who can talk about chaos, it's Job.
19:03Job 14:1,
19:06it says, "Man that is born of a woman is
19:10of few days." Part one, few days. Number
19:14two, and full of trouble.
19:17I want you to take this scripture
19:18literally right now.
19:20He's actually saying the man who is born
19:23of a woman is of a few days. You're not
19:27on this planet forever.
19:30And then he says, "While you're here,
19:33you are going to have lots of trouble.
19:37We're here for a short time and
19:39sometimes we forget that. How you live
19:43and the choices you make matter.
19:47You have to understand that. You're here
19:49for a season. Do not let people
19:52interrupt your peace and your joy
19:56and cause you to live in misery and miss
19:58out on the OPPORTUNITIES OF YOUR LIFE.
20:02>> [applause]
20:03>> ARE YOU HEARING ME TODAY?
20:05Don't allow that. You were born in an
20:07environment filled with evil and
20:09dysfunction. It's a part of your life.
20:12So, the assignment is not to escape it,
20:15but to learn how you can live through
20:17it.
20:19So, today you have a choice
20:21to live frustrated
20:23in a chaotic environment
20:26or find peace in it.
20:29And even with that, you can still live a
20:32fully
20:34glorious life before God, becoming the
20:37best [music] version of yourself.
20:40Now, here's how you can find peace
20:42in chaos.
20:44Let me help you as I walk you through
20:47about four ways you can find peace in
20:50the midst of chaos.
20:52You can find it and you can walk away
20:54from depression.
20:56God sent me here to talk to some of you
20:58and some of you are streaming. Some of
21:00you are on the borderline of depression.
21:03You're not there yet, but you're on the
21:04borderline of it and some of you are
21:07deeply in depression.
21:09You're full of fear.
21:10You're restless.
21:12Your life is
21:14very unstable. Here are four important
21:17steps you must
21:21in order to find peace in the midst of
21:24chaos. Number one, I want to walk you
21:26through it. These are going to be very
21:27important steps and I pray that you're
21:29taking notes because I'm telling you
21:31you're going to need them.
21:32Number one, understand that your peace
21:35is not controlled by people or what you
21:37like.
21:40Your peace is not controlled by people
21:45or what you like.
21:49Your peace cannot be tied to people,
21:51circumstances, or outcome.
21:54Some of you are married to people who
21:57you have allowed to steal your peace and
21:59your joy.
22:02You control that.
22:04Some of you are in relationships with
22:06people, maybe a friend or partner or
22:08whatever,
22:09they're stealing your peace and your
22:11joy.
22:13Only you can allow them to take it.
22:16You're on the job. How is it that you
22:18get up every single day to go to a place
22:22for eight long hours
22:25trying to make money
22:27trying to take care of your bills and
22:29every time you enter the workplace, you
22:32sink in depression.
22:36Are you giving people that much control
22:38over your life?
22:40You see, you can't allow that, my
22:41friend.
22:43If your peace is external, it will
22:45always be unstable. True peace is
22:49internal and it's rooted in God.
22:52Let's go to number two.
22:54Not only should you understand that your
22:56peace is not controlled by people or
23:00what you like. Number two, peace is
23:03found in embracing the promises of God.
23:08Let me come down here for a moment cuz I
23:10got to I got to teach this here.
23:12Peace is found in embracing
23:15the promises of God because peace is not
23:18found in what you see. Listen to me,
23:21peace is not found in what you see.
23:26Some of you can't find peace.
23:29You can't find joy
23:31because what you see around you is not
23:32inviting.
23:35Have you looked at your bank account
23:36lately?
23:41Come on now.
23:43Come on now, you're looking at me
23:44straight.
23:46Pick up the phone, dial your your bank
23:48right now or go on the app and check
23:50your balance.
23:53And how many of you can do that
23:56and smile? Oh.
23:59Oh.
24:01Oh my
24:02Oh, I'm so happy.
24:05Ooh, it's going to take me a LONG TIME
24:07TO SPEND THIS, you know.
24:09Thank you, Jesus.
24:12No.
24:14A lot of us are going to
24:18at what you see.
24:20Some of you because people have hurt
24:23you. Come on.
24:25People have done some evil things to
24:28you.
24:30And you know it was wrong what they did.
24:34When you see them,
24:37what comes in your head?
24:39Don't Don't Don't say it. Don't Don't
24:44Do you find peace? Can you look at your
24:47enemy? Can you look at people who
24:50despitefully use you and say all manner
24:53of evil against you? Can you look them
24:56in the eye and have peace and know in
24:59your peace is eating them up on the
25:02inside?
25:07Talk to me here now.
25:09You see, when you anchor yourself in the
25:11promises of God, your emotions no longer
25:15control your life.
25:18Number three, never worry about what you
25:21cannot change.
25:23Pray about everything.
25:26That's how you can find peace. Whatever
25:28you're battling right now, don't worry
25:30about what you cannot change.
25:33You can't change it.
25:34You can't change the person.
25:37Some of you are doing everything to
25:39change that person. You are going to go
25:42crazy.
25:45Especially when they are adults.
25:51Yeah, your kids, yeah, whatever you need
25:52to do.
25:54Whatever you need to do, you know, back
25:55in the olden days, they can't do it
25:57today. Back in the olden days, you could
25:59say beat it out of them.
26:03Beat it out of them. You can tell I'm
26:04from the Caribbean. Beat it out of them.
26:07See, you you modern day parents, we're
26:09going to talk. Let's Come on, let's have
26:11a talk. Talk.
26:14Belt switch branches shoes stone.
26:18Oh, we going beat it out of you.
26:23>> [laughter]
26:26>> Anybody who've gotten some beatings that
26:28you have not yet forgotten, it has been
26:32in your mind.
26:34You'll never forget it. Never forget it.
26:38My parents are gone home to be with the
26:40Lord right now and there are still some
26:42beatings I will never ever That
26:46scripture that says forgive and forget,
26:49I forgive.
26:52Why? It hurts.
26:57COME ON, MAN.
27:03Can't change certain things.
27:06You can't change the sickness that was
27:08diagnosed.
27:11You can't change your teenager acting
27:14up.
27:18I remember when you took that boy home,
27:19when you took that girl home.
27:22Innocent little child. I get it.
27:26You have given your life for that child.
27:31You have gone without for years.
27:35And you have given that child EVERYTHING
27:38THEY NEEDED.
27:40DENIED YOURSELF.
27:44AND YOU HAVE LOVED ON THAT CHILD.
27:48There were days WHEN YOU DIDN'T FEEL
27:50LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO LIVE, YET YOU
27:52PUSHED YOUR WAY TO WORK, WORKED
27:54OVERTIME, TWO AND THREE JOBS
27:58TO GET THEM TO SCHOOL.
28:03And in the end,
28:05the words that that child
28:08will speak directly into your face
28:11literally
28:14brought tears to your eyes.
28:18You can't change them.
28:20Can't change that boy.
28:22Can't change that girl.
28:24You can't change your boss.
28:26You can't change that person who's
28:28attacking you. You can't change them,
28:30but here's what you can do.
28:32You can pray.
28:37You can pray.
28:39You can pray.
28:41You see, in peace, according to
28:43um Psalm 4:8, I will BOTH LIE DOWN AND
28:48SLEEP IN PEACE.
28:50For you alone, oh Lord, make me dwell in
28:52safety cuz worry changes nothing.
28:58But prayer changes everything including
29:00you. Number four,
29:01don't allow people to take your peace
29:04just because they don't have any.
29:12I got to say it again cuz some of you
29:14need to hear this.
29:15Don't allow people to take your peace
29:18because they don't have
29:20any.
29:22Some people operate in chaos because
29:24chaos lives inside of them.
29:29But just because they lack peace
29:32does not mean that you have to lose
29:34yours.
29:35Protect your peace at all costs.
29:37You don't have to.
29:39So, I'm here today to tell you that you
29:41can live in chaos without becoming it.
29:47So, go home today.
29:51Enter the week Monday.
29:54Whatever you are faced with,
29:56you enter into that environment and you
29:59tell yourself,
30:01I have peace.
30:04I have the peace of God. I'm not worried
30:05about things anymore
30:08cuz I can't change it.
30:10I don't care what people say. I don't
30:12care what people think.
30:15God, this is between me and you.
30:19This is just between me and you.
30:22Because as a kingdom citizen, as the
30:24Apostle Paul was addressing the church,
30:28he's saying, "Look, we're the salt,
30:30we're the light. There's no way we can
30:33truly make a difference
30:36if we don't find peace.
30:39There's no way.
30:40If we don't find peace in the midst of
30:42something that's not going away. Chaos
30:45is not going away.
30:48You don't have to become a part of it.
30:51Right?
30:52God doesn't want you to be a Christian
30:55where you just go through emotions.
30:58I think we've gotten it wrong, man. And
30:59as I close with this,
31:01and I'm going to ask those of you who
31:03are going to be baptized, you can go
31:04ahead and vacate the the room. Everybody
31:07else, just please be seated. Listen to
31:09me. Pay attention to me. Pay attention
31:11to me.
31:12I don't know who this word was for.
31:16But you are allowing
31:19the enemy to steal your peace and your
31:23joy
31:25because you have lost your focus.
31:28Come on. Look at me. Look at me.
31:31You've lost your focus.
31:34You
31:35Who Who lied to you to tell you that you
31:38can You're going to have a life as a
31:40believer that your life will be exempt
31:43of problems.
31:46Got to live with it.
31:49You want to give the devil a black eye?
31:52If you got chaos on the job,
31:55change your posture tomorrow.
32:01Go at that workplace
32:03with your head up.
32:07Don't argue with people no more.
32:09Listen Listen to me. I don't I'm I I'm
32:13telling you.
32:14It may not be for you, but I strongly
32:17believe God tailored this message to
32:21give a few people some answers and the
32:24way out of their depression.
32:32One of the greatest way
32:35to protect
32:37your peace, please hear Henry Fernandez
32:40today.
32:41One of the greatest way to protect your
32:45peace,
32:47and some of you can't do it.
32:49It's this.
32:53Say nothing.
32:57>> [applause]
33:04>> Look at your neighbor say, "Zip it."
33:07Just don't say nothing.
33:10Just stand back and watch the Lord fight
33:14your battles.
33:20Bow your heads.
33:22If you don't mind, put your hand on the
33:24person that is seated next to you.
33:27Come on.
33:29We going to pray.
33:31We going to pray.
33:33Cuz you are not going to leave this
33:34building today. You're not not not going
33:36to log off today
33:38with that kind of chaos that you've been
33:40carrying around in your life.
33:43You've lost your peace. You've lost your
33:45joy.
33:47You say you're a Christian,
33:50but you're struggling to survive.
33:53All because you've allowed the devil to
33:55cause you to react to every little
33:57thing.
33:59You're talking too much.
34:02You're putting your emotions too much in
34:04things.
34:05You're worried too much about what
34:07people are saying.
34:09You're paying attention to the
34:12the nonsense
34:14that people are doing
34:16instead of
34:18resting in God.
34:21Guard in your heart so you don't become
34:23like them.
34:25That you don't become bitter,
34:28revengeful,
34:30evil.
34:32But there's so much God has in store for
34:34you. Father, I thank you.
34:37Today all of us can say we've heard you
34:40speak to us
34:43about the importance of us finding peace
34:47in the midst of
34:49the chaos.
34:52Thank you for talking to us today. Thank
34:54you for giving us biblical principles
34:57how
34:59we can start this week
35:02in a different way.
35:04How we can
35:06renew our commitment to you and
35:09how we don't have to
35:11live depressed. How we
35:14don't have to live defeated.
35:17That
35:19we can smile again.
35:24We can be happy again.
35:27Not because
35:29problems are not there. Not because
35:30attacks are not there.
35:32But it's because we rest in you.
35:36We find our comfort in you.
35:40May your Holy Spirit touch every person,
35:43especially those who needed this word
35:46today. Whether they're here on campus or
35:49streaming. I pray today will be the day
35:53they'll find peace
35:55in the midst of chaos. We thank you.
35:58We honor you
36:00and we worship you. Bless us
36:03with a great week.
36:05Oh, Holy Spirit.
36:07Thank you.
36:08We're going to be great on the job.
36:11Great in the marketplace. Great running
36:13that business.
36:16And as we come on Wednesday for worship
36:18night,
36:20that we would take time out to honor
36:23and give you all the praise and the
36:25glory.
36:27For many of us, we've been coming
36:29to this church for a while.
36:33Some a month, a week, years.
36:36And we've always declared that [music]
36:38faith in God will move mountains out of
36:40our lives and because we believe it.
36:42It's not that the mountains won't come.
36:46The issues will come.
36:48But we find peace
36:50that those mountains will not conquer
36:53us.
36:55And so today we pray as we witness these
36:57candidates
37:00who are going to be baptized.
37:03Help us to be reminded that's living
37:06proof
37:07that Jesus still heals, delivers, and
37:10saves
37:10>> [music]
37:11>> in a chaotic world.
37:13And we thank you. Everyone lift both
37:15hands.
37:17And this is going to be our confession.
37:19We do it at the dismissal of every
37:22service. It may not be
37:25the doxology of the scripture.
37:28This is our confession today.
37:30What was in the scripture was for them.
37:32It's a guide
37:35for all of us as we close today to go
37:38into a new week.
37:40Let's say our confession, our
37:43benediction. Say it out loud, everybody.
37:46Faith in God will move mountains out of
37:50our lives.
37:50>> [music]
37:51>> God bless you. Have a great day. Let's
37:54see you on the outside for baptism,
37:56please. God bless you. Thank [music]
37:58you. God bless you.
