Summary

Bishop Henry Fernandez explores Psalm 51 to demonstrate that failure does not disqualify a believer from God's purpose, but serves as a call to restoration and the recovery of spiritual joy.

Key points
  • Failure is not a disqualification from God's purpose; rather, it is often the prerequisite for a deeper experience of His restoration.
  • The joy of salvation is the source of spiritual strength, and losing that joy leads to a decline in every other area of a believer's life.
  • True revival begins where excuses end; it requires taking full responsibility for one's actions and turning toward God in honesty.
  • Intentional pursuit of God is necessary because revival is not a one-time event or a conference, but a daily lifestyle sustained by a willing spirit.
  • God's discipline and correction are acts of love intended to restore and redeem us, not to destroy or reject us.

Identify one area of past failure you have been hiding and confess it honestly to God this week, asking Him specifically to restore the 'joy of your salvation' rather than just asking for a change in circumstances.

Reflection questions
  1. In what ways have you allowed past mistakes to define your identity rather than God's purpose?
  2. David asked for joy instead of power or wealth. What are you currently asking God for, and how would having more joy change that request?
  3. Are you serving in the church out of a sense of duty or out of the joy of your salvation?
  4. What does it look like for you to 'turn from your ways' in a specific area of your life right now?

0:00What an amazing song. Amen. Would you
0:03stand for the scripture and then we'll
0:07get you out of here
0:11hopefully on time. Praise Jesus.
0:15Psalm 51 is where I will come from this
0:19morning.
0:21We will actually deal with all 12 verses
0:26of Psalm 51. But I just want to read
0:29verse 12.
0:31It says, "Restore to me the joy of your
0:36salvation and grant me a willing spirit
0:40to sustain me." Now, I read it. I want
0:44you now to read it out loud. Everybody
0:46go read.
0:55>> Father, we thank you for your word
0:57today. May you speak to our hearts.
1:01May the words that we hear today
1:04transform us so that we are revived and
1:09sustained in Jesus' name. Amen. Can we
1:13give the Lord a hand of praise while we
1:16take our seats?
1:21One of the things I love about God is
1:26simply this.
1:28While society may
1:32write off, if you will,
1:36um, people who have repeatedly failed in
1:41life, I want people to understand that
1:44God never ever will he ever write you
1:48off because you have failed.
1:52Instead, what God does, he restores us
1:56when we fail.
1:58And in Psalm 51, we see David is one of
2:02the many references in scripture that
2:05shows us that we can find joy in serving
2:09Jesus Christ even after our biggest
2:12failure.
2:14Today I want to speak from the subject
2:16revived sustained
2:20finding joy after failure.
2:24Finding joy after failure. There are
2:27some of you in this room, some of you
2:29are streaming. You've had some failures
2:31in your life and it's been tormenting
2:35you and you are at a place where you're
2:37feeling less than a man, less than a
2:39woman because society remembers your
2:42failure and you can't seem to get it out
2:45of your head and therefore you're living
2:47beneath your Christian privileges. One
2:51of the biggest misconceptions in the
2:54church is that failure disqualifies
2:57people from God's purpose. I want to say
3:00that again. One of the biggest
3:02misconceptions in the body of Christ is
3:05that failure disqualifies people from
3:08God's presence. But the truth is failure
3:12may leave a scar on you. It may
3:15embarrass you. It may even humble you.
3:19But it does not have to define who you
3:22are.
3:24>> Just because you failed maybe last year,
3:275 years ago, 10 years ago, doesn't mean
3:30that God is through with you doesn't
3:32mean that you cannot succeed again. Some
3:36of God's greatest servants experienced
3:39seasons of failure.
3:41And we tend to forget that. If we read
3:43the Bible, we will see multiple times
3:47people in the in the Bible failed God.
3:50Yet he used them. [clears throat]
3:53>> Abraham lied about Sarah of who she was
3:58to him. Not only that, Abraham struggled
4:02with his temper, if you will. Moses
4:05murdered someone and struck the rock in
4:10anger. [clears throat]
4:11Moses was the guy whose name was in the
4:14system,
4:16the criminal system. And there are many
4:18of you streaming, watching today that
4:21you've done some things in the past.
4:24Maybe you got arrested.
4:26Maybe you did some illegal things and
4:29you're wondering with all the stuff
4:32that's behind your name and what you
4:34have done in for for years, can God use
4:39you? Yes, he can. Elijah ran in fear.
4:43Jonah ran from God's assignment. Peter
4:47denied Jesus how many times? Three
4:50times. The prodigal son, who was, by the
4:54way, a millennial, walked out of the
4:57covering [clears throat]
4:58and provision of his father's house.
5:01And there are many young people watching
5:03me today listening to this sermon.
5:07You have made some mistakes. You have
5:09done things that you're not pleased
5:12with. And you know, God's not pleased
5:14about those things. But I'm telling you,
5:17God can restore you. He did that to all
5:20of these people. Abraham, Moses, Elijah,
5:24Jonah, Peter, and the prodigal son. Yet
5:27God restored them, and he continues to
5:31use them.
5:33>> God can use you even after failure.
5:38You need to embrace that idea that even
5:41though you have failed, I'm not here
5:43telling you today that you ought to keep
5:45on making bad mistakes and keep on
5:47making bad decisions and so forth. But
5:50what I'm telling you after you made
5:52those bad decisions, God is saying to
5:56you today, I still have use of your
6:00life.
6:02>> David prayed in Psalm 51. He prayed one
6:06of the most honest prayers recorded in
6:09scripture. And one of the things we need
6:12to understand is this. God knows our
6:14heart. And when we go to God with
6:18honesty and saying, "God, this is who I
6:20am. This is the things that I'm
6:22struggling with, God will hear your
6:25prayer." I believe this is one of the
6:28greatest prayer David has ever prayed or
6:31anybody has ever prayed in scripture. It
6:34was not written during a season of
6:36victory. David wasn't just in this
6:38victorious season. So, he prayed this
6:41wonderful prayer. It was written after
6:43one of the darkest moments of his life.
6:46And I'm telling you today, God sent me
6:48to talk to a few of you who are in one
6:51of the darkest moments of your life
6:54right now. And you're wondering, how are
6:57you going to make it? And can God use
6:59you?
7:02Let me continue by saying and David
7:04sinned with Barshiba
7:06and orchestrated the death of her
7:09husband Uriah.
7:11God sent the prophet Nathan to confront
7:15him.
7:17Here's a man committed adultery,
7:20committed sin against this man's wife,
7:25and the Bible says to cover it up,
7:28>> he killed the man.
7:31cuz we're good at covering up our sins
7:36>> and we'll go to the point of murder
7:40>> just to cover it up. Though the
7:42confrontation was uncomfortable for
7:45David,
7:47it was meant it was not meant to destroy
7:50him. It was meant to restore him. Now
7:52wait a minute. See, we preach about how
7:54David committed the sin, committed
7:58murder, and then, you know, that was
8:01wrong and what he did, but we forget to
8:03to to recognize that the reason why God
8:07sent the prophet to talk to him about
8:09his sin was not to destroy him. It was
8:13to restore him, to redeem him. So when
8:16you hear sermons, when you open your
8:19phone and all of a sudden things that
8:21you're struggling with pops up on the
8:23screen, or maybe you turn on your radio
8:25and the things that God is trying to
8:28tell you, YOU START HEARING it through a
8:30preacher, start hearing it through
8:32somebody that God sent in your life, God
8:35is doing those things not to chastise
8:38you, but to restore you
8:42>> just like he did to David. The message
8:45was proof that God had not given up on
8:48David in spite of his sin.
8:53So likewise, when God corrects us, he is
8:56not rejecting us. He's calling us back
9:00to himself.
9:02In Hebrews 12 verse 6, we're reminded
9:06of the scripture. It says because the
9:08Lord disciplines the ones
9:12or the person he loves. The Lord
9:16discipline the ones he loves. Maybe
9:20that's where our parents got this from.
9:24You know they will
9:27be beating us and says you know why I'm
9:29doing this is because I love you.
9:34Anybody came from that kind of a
9:35background?
9:38after they slaughtered you,
9:42then they'll turn around and hug you and
9:44say, "You know, I love you."
9:46>> And you're thinking, "How in the world
9:48could you love me and hit me like that?"
9:51>> You see, God is still calling his people
9:54back to himself. He's calling us to
9:57revival. He's calling us to renewal.
10:00He's calling us to return to our first
10:05love. Uh that's what he's doing. And the
10:08message of Psalm 51 is very simple.
10:11Failure is not final when repentance is
10:15genuine.
10:17>> That's the message.
10:20This is the purpose of the body of
10:21Christ. This is the purpose for the
10:23platform that God has entrusted me with.
10:26It is not to use this platform to dog
10:30you out or to present myself as the
10:33righteous one. The purpose for this
10:35stage is not for me to display my talent
10:39or to use the scripture to beat upon you
10:42or to cast judgment on you. The message
10:46and purpose for the stage is to bring
10:49hope [snorts]
10:50to those who are broken and hope to
10:52those who have lost their way. And
10:54somebody ought to give God praise for
10:56that.
10:59>> [applause]
11:00>> Isaiah 1 verse 18,
11:04it says, "Though your sins are like
11:06what? Scarlet. They shall be what?
11:10>> As white as snow." What an incredible
11:14promise. No matter how messed up we
11:17become, God is still willing to change
11:20us. God knows where we have been. He
11:24knows all of our mistakes.
11:27He knows our compromises. Yet, he still
11:31loves us. He still believes in us. He
11:35still has a purpose for us. He still
11:38believes in us. No matter how broken you
11:41are, God still has a purpose for your
11:45life. The enemy wants you to focus on
11:48your failure.
11:50But God wants you to focus on his mercy.
11:54His mercy is everlasting and the truth
11:57of the Lord endured forever. Lamentation
12:003 22- 23 pretty much tells us his
12:05compassions
12:07never fail.
12:10They are new every morning.
12:12>> When you woke up this morning, it was
12:15the mercy of God
12:17>> that woke you up.
12:19>> Come on now. The reason why you're in
12:23the middle of the year, it's because of
12:26the mercy of God.
12:29>> Now, here is the heart of the message
12:30today.
12:32And to give you a biblical understanding
12:34of Psalm 51, verse 12. The message is
12:39all about restoration.
12:42It's about someone who failed and needs
12:45to be revived. David prayed. He prayed
12:49the prayer, restore to me the joy of
12:52your salvation and grant me a willing
12:55spirit to sustain me. He prayed it.
12:59Notice David asked for two things. One,
13:03restore the joy of salvation. Two, grant
13:06a willing spirit to sustain me. David
13:10understood that revival begins when joy
13:14returns.
13:17He understood that revival will begin
13:19when joy is returned. He did not ask God
13:23for a throne. He did not ask God for
13:26wealth. He did not ask God for power.
13:29Some of us are asking for the wrong
13:32things.
13:34>> GOD GIVE ME A SPOUSE. GIVE ME A WIFE.
13:37GIVE ME A HUSBAND. GOD GIVE ME A BETTER
13:40JOB. GOD GIVE ME MONEY. GIVE ME THIS
13:44material things. Give me more of this.
13:48And the truth is some of US WHEN WE GET
13:51ALL OF THOSE THINGS, WE'RE still not
13:54happy.
13:57[applause]
13:58>> You want to talk to people with a lot of
14:00money. YOU WANT TO talk to a LOT OF
14:02PEOPLE THAT YOU THINK ARE SUCCESSFUL.
14:06>> Most of them WILL TELL YOU THEY'RE not
14:08happy.
14:10>> He never asked God for wealth.
14:14He did NOT ASK GOD FOR POWER. HE simply
14:17asked God for joy.
14:21>> Because when you lose the joy of your
14:25salvation, everything else begins to
14:28decline.
14:30>> Everything. Now, there are two things
14:33every believer must recover. Every
14:37believer, you got to recover these two
14:39things. Number one, the joy of your
14:41salvation.
14:42The church today does not have a worship
14:45problem. Please hear me. We don't have a
14:48worship problem. We have a joy problem.
14:53>> It's not a worship. Oh, we've got
14:55incredible worship leaders.
14:58>> We have incredible musicians. Yes,
15:01>> if I must say, you know, of course,
15:02we're only a portion of the
15:04representation of the body of Christ,
15:06but I have to tell you, the faith center
15:08has some of the greatest musicians and
15:12worship leaders.
15:15[applause]
15:17But I have to tell you,
15:20we don't have a worship problem.
15:24>> We know how to worship. OUR PROBLEM IS
15:28WE LOST OUR JOY.
15:31>> Many people still attend CHURCH BUT HAVE
15:33LOST THE EXCITEMENT OF BEING A FOLLOWER
15:36OF JESUS CHRIST.
15:39>> You may come to church BUT YOU'VE LOST
15:42THAT PASSION AND THAT JOY to follow
15:45Christ.
15:46>> Some people HAVE STOPPED COMING TO
15:49CHURCH BECAUSE THEY'VE LOST THE JOY OF
15:53FOLLOWING JESUS CHRIST. They stop coming
15:56to church because of a preacher. They
15:57stop coming to church because of they
15:59say Christians are hypocrites. They stop
16:02coming to church because they hear on
16:05the streets THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE THAT
16:07ALL OF THIS IS HYPOCRISY AND IT'S NOT
16:10REAL AND GOD IS not real and it's a
16:12white man's UM DOCTRINE AND ALL THESE
16:16STUFF. But let me tell you something.
16:18You've been tricked. WHEN YOU KNOW GOD
16:21for yourself and you have a personal
16:24relationship with him, it's beyond
16:27religion.
16:30It's a relationship.
16:34So, they've lost their joy and their
16:36excitement to follow Christ.
16:39The joy that once caused them to pray
16:41has faded. The joy that once caused them
16:44to serve has diminished. Remember
16:49when you were excited about serving God
16:51and serving in his kingdom?
16:53So many believers are so comfortable
16:57coming to church, sitting,
17:00>> preach me happy,
17:02>> lead me into worship, let me have a good
17:04time,
17:05>> but not willing to serve.
17:08>> Not willing to say, "Let me be a greeter
17:10in the lobby cuz I have the gift of
17:12hospitality." Some of you are so gifted
17:16and smiling. you're gifted in welcoming
17:19some people because it's everybody don't
17:21have that.
17:24>> Some people are mean and insensitive cuz
17:27they they they they just go through so
17:29much trauma. But some of you are gifted.
17:32You know how to deal with children. So
17:34you're not willing to serve in
17:35children's church. You don't know how to
17:37serve. You don't know how to serve as
17:39servant leaders. You've lost all of
17:41that. You will come into the house of
17:43God and be IN CHURCH FOR 20 YEARS.
17:47and never serve.
17:51>> THE JOY THAT ONCE CAUSED them
17:54to serve has diminished
17:57>> and sadly many
17:59show no interest in serving in ministry,
18:03no interest in volunteering their time
18:06and no interest of being generous.
18:10Some people struggle during offering
18:12time. mixed emotions
18:16and the enemy gets into their head and
18:19their feelings and and and and and
18:22before you know it, it becomes an
18:25uncomfortable moment for them because
18:28they've lost their joy of serving Jesus
18:31Christ. The joy that once caused them to
18:35share Christ
18:38has now disappeared.
18:42Since January,
18:44have you told anybody about God?
18:47>> My God.
18:48>> My God.
18:50>> Have you ever witnessed to your family,
18:53your co-workers,
18:55you had multiple opportunities
18:58>> when they were telling you their
18:59problems?
19:02Have you once said to somebody,
19:05"Let me talk to you about God,
19:08I'm not forcing Christianity on you and
19:11my my faith on you, but I know you're
19:14going through something, but let me tell
19:17you how I walk through what you are
19:19currently experiencing.
19:21>> What you are currently experiencing,
19:24I've been through that. When was the
19:27last time you shared your faith?"
19:31But oh, if I would ask you
19:34how many stuff in social media you have
19:37shared
19:41>> and most of what you have shared
19:45>> is not healthy stuff.
19:48>> I'm talking to kingdom citizens now.
19:52Nehemiah verse 8:10 says, "The joy of
19:54the Lord is your strength." When joy
19:58disappears, strength disappears. When
20:02joy returns, strength returns. The enemy
20:06cannot stop a believer who is genuinely
20:10joyful about what Jesus has done in
20:13their lives.
20:15And here's the second thing a believer
20:17needs to recover.
20:20It's an intentional pursuit of God.
20:25>> This one is big.
20:27intentional pursuit of God. David also
20:31asked GOD FOR A WILLING SPIRIT. CUZ
20:34LISTEN, IF WE DON'T ASK GOD FOR A
20:36WILLING SPIRIT TO SERVE HIM, we're not
20:38going to serve him.
20:41>> He asked God for willing spirit.
20:44He says a willing spirit that chooses
20:48you daily
20:51because revival is not an event. It's
20:54not Sunday morning. It's not a
20:56conference. It's a lifestyle.
21:00>> That's what it means to re be revived.
21:02Jeremiah 29:13,
21:05you will seek me and find me when you
21:07seek me with all
21:10>> of your heart. That's intentional
21:12worship. So the challenge faced in the
21:15modern day church today is not a lack of
21:19information.
21:21Sadly, it's the lack of commitment.
21:24We have more sermons, podcasts, books,
21:26and researches than ever before.
21:29Yet, we are unhappy. We're confused,
21:33unstable, and lack basic truths about
21:36the fundamentals of our Christian faith.
21:41Think about that.
21:43I mean, podcast upon podcast,
21:46books, and all these electronic stuff we
21:50have. Yet we, the body of Christ, are
21:54walking around unhappy. Let's tell the
21:56truth. Unhappy in our homes, [snorts]
21:59unhappy in our marriages,
22:01unhappy running our businesses, very
22:04much unhappy.
22:06We We dress up our unhappiness,
22:11>> not knowing that it's the joy of knowing
22:14God
22:16>> that's going to give you the strength to
22:18continue this journey in life. So, let
22:21me briefly conclude this by walking you
22:24through each of the 11 verses
22:28of Psalm 51 before we get to verse 12.
22:32I want to show you what David meant when
22:36he was saying, "God, revive me and
22:39sustain me." The very first verse says,
22:42"Have mercy on me, oh God." David began
22:46with mercy. He knew he could not earn or
22:50work his way to forgiveness because
22:53revival begins when we depend on God's
22:59mercy. Verse two, it says, "Wash away
23:03all my iniquity." David wanted complete
23:06cleansing,
23:08NOT A SUNDAY MORNING FEELGOOD.
23:12>> Come to church. I think I got my word. I
23:15think I got blessed today.
23:18He wanted to live this every day.
23:22He wanted a complete change, not partial
23:26change, not an image management.
23:31Not to just change my image for a
23:33season. He wanted to be transformed. He
23:37wanted real transformation. Verse three,
23:41for I know my transgressions. David
23:44accepted responsibility for his sin.
23:47the [clears throat] sin that he
23:48committed. Because revival, watch this,
23:51begins where excuses end.
23:56>> The moment you stop making excuses and
23:59you say, God, only against you have I
24:02sinned,
24:03>> then revival will begin in your life,
24:05verse four, and again you are against
24:07you and you only have I sinned. David
24:10understood that every sin ultimately
24:13affects our relationship with God. Verse
24:16five surely
24:19I was sinful at birth. He acknowledged
24:23his human condition because without
24:26God's grace, none of us stands a chance
24:31of having real joy. Romans 3:23 tells
24:35us, "For all have what? Sinned and fall
24:39short of God's glory." Number six, you
24:43desire [snorts] faithfulness.
24:46God desires truth. Truth in the inward
24:50part of from all of us. He wants
24:53authenticity,
24:55not our performance.
24:58>> There's a difference. Verse seven, I
25:00love this. Wash me and I will be whiter
25:03than snow. David believed restoration
25:06was possible because you cannot be
25:09revived if you do not believe God can
25:12restore you. Verse eight, let me hear
25:16joy and gladness. And this is where the
25:19meat of the message comes into play. Let
25:23me hear joy and gladness. Can I ask you
25:26a question? When was the last time you
25:29could honestly say you had real joy?
25:34that you were really glad. I'm not
25:36talking about because you got your
25:38paycheck.
25:40I'm not talking about because somebody
25:42gave you something. When was the last
25:44time you sat in YOUR HOUSE, YOU SAT IN
25:47THE CAR, you sat among all the material
25:50things that you've acquired and honestly
25:53can say even if you lose them all,
25:58still have joy.
26:02Cuz some of YOU ARE ONLY SMILING BECAUSE
26:06YOU HAVE THE JOB.
26:08>> You're only smiling BECAUSE THE CAR YOU
26:10GOT IN THE PARKING LOT, IT'S A nice car.
26:15>> The house you LIVE IN, THE APARTMENT YOU
26:17LIVE IN, IT'S NICE. YOU GOT A FEW
26:20DOLLARS IN the bank account. YOUR JOY IS
26:23BASED ON YOUR POSSESSION.
26:26And I promise you, the moment you lose
26:28them,
26:29>> the moment you lose them, your joy is
26:32gone.
26:33>> But there are some people don't have all
26:36of that.
26:38They don't have the fancy car. Come on
26:40now. They don't have the big house. They
26:42don't have a lot of money in the bank.
26:44But boy, they are full of joy.
26:48Am I talking to anybody out there today?
26:50They are full of joy.
26:54Let me hear joy and gladness. Verse
26:57nine, hide your face from my sins.
27:02David, his desire was for forgiveness
27:06and reconciliation
27:08because he could not deal with how his
27:12actions
27:14changed the image of who God has created
27:17him to be.
27:19There's something about when you look in
27:21the mirror and you are honest with
27:23yourself and you say,
27:27"I'm not at my best."
27:32>> Come on now, brothers. Go into when you
27:35go home, go in the mirror, man. Like
27:37women, you know, women, they always do
27:38it, you know,
27:40from every side.
27:43Just go in the mirror and look at
27:45yourself.
27:46Am I pleased with who I am?
27:53>> Am I the best version of myself?
27:57Ladies, are you the best version of
28:01yourself?
28:03David cried to God, "Hide
28:08your face from my sins." Cuz he knew
28:10what he did was wrong.
28:15He knew that the sin that he comm or
28:18sins
28:21he was with the wrong woman
28:24and to cover it up because when you sin
28:27you got to sin again to cover up the
28:30first sin and then you got to sin again
28:32to cover up the first sin then the
28:34second sin then you got to sin again.
28:36You know it's kind you got to lie to
28:38cover up the first lie to cover up the
28:41third lie and the fourth lie. He knew
28:43it.
28:45And when he stood before God, he knew
28:48God wasn't pleased with him cuz he knew,
28:50watch this. Have you ever thought about
28:54this for a moment, that when God created
28:57David,
29:00he created him to be king?
29:06>> Wait, this is good stuff. WHEN GOD
29:08CREATED HIM, HE WAS CREATED TO BE A
29:12KING. EVEN THOUGH HIS FATHER DID NOT PUT
29:16GREAT VALUE on him,
29:18>> he was still king.
29:20So even when people don't recognize you,
29:23even when people don't appreciate you or
29:25value you or even when your mother and
29:28your father weren't there for you and
29:30supported you, when God put something in
29:34you, ain't nobody can take it away from
29:37you.
29:39It was already in him. And brothers, I'M
29:43TELLING YOU TODAY, YES, YOU MIGHT HAVE
29:46BEEN LIKE DAVID, sinned against God,
29:52but once God put a king in you,
29:57>> EVEN WITH YOUR PAST SINS,
30:01he still has purpose for your life.
30:05>> He still wants to use you.
30:08I don't CARE HOW MANY DRUGS YOU HAVE
30:11taken in the past. I don't care HOW MANY
30:14WOMEN'S LIFE you have ruined.
30:17I don't care how YOU HAVE SPENT ALL OF
30:19YOUR MONEY. LISTEN TO me men.
30:23>> YOU MIGHT HAVE MADE A WHOLE LOT OF
30:25MISTAKE. YOU MIGHT HAVE COMMITTED MURDER
30:28LIKE David
30:31>> and the LAW HAS NOT CAUGHT UP TO YOU.
30:35>> I'm telling you today
30:37When Moses OR DAVID STOOD BEFORE GOD,
30:43>> he said, "God,
30:46you know my sins.
30:49I'm not going to pretend.
30:52I know what I did.
30:55So God, don't hide your face cuz if if
30:58you turn your back on me, I'm done."
31:03>> HE KNEW THAT. I'M DONE. HE SAID, "GOD,
31:07DON'T HIDE YOUR FACE FROM ME. RESTORE
31:10THE JOY
31:12>> of myself. RESTORE THE JOY." AS A
31:15SHEPHERD BOY, [screaming]
31:16I USED TO SIT DOWN WITH THE HARP AND I
31:19USED TO PLAY MUSIC AND SING SONGS. I
31:22WROTE SONGS. I'm gifted. I'M A WRITER.
31:28AND I LOST IT BECAUSE I SINNED.
31:32>> Don't turn your back on me now.
31:36Even though there's a man in the grave
31:37that's crying out because I killed him.
31:42>> Don't hide it from me. You're in this
31:45room today. You're streaming and I'm
31:47telling you, there's a lot of stuff you
31:50did that's buried.
31:53Ain't nobody know about it.
31:56And you're saying, "God, how can you use
31:58me?
32:00How can you still use me?
32:04Why are you chasing after me? Why do I
32:08keep going to the faith center and hear
32:11this preacher and OTHER PEOPLE STILL
32:14PUSHING ME? WHY DO I FEEL SO
32:17UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY chair
32:20feel as if I'M THE ONLY ONE IN THIS ROOM
32:23THIS GUY IS TALKING TO?
32:26WHY WHEN I LEAVE CHURCH AND I GO HOME, I
32:30CAN'T GET THE WORDS OF WHAT I HEARD IN
32:33SERVICE out of my head? Could it be that
32:37God is chasing after you
32:41>> while you're running away from him
32:44and he's saying he's saying to you, you
32:49need to be like David
32:51>> when he said create in me.
32:56See, this is where intentional worship
32:59comes into play. Create in me
33:04a clean, pure heart, oh God.
33:09This was perhaps the greatest prayer
33:12David prayed.
33:15>> I'm not hiding from you anymore.
33:18I want to be revived.
33:22I want to feel the presence of God back
33:24in my life
33:27when I was in the bush
33:30when I was out there in the field
33:33and my father didn't even recognize my
33:35gift.
33:37But you, oh God,
33:39knew that if anybody was going to be
33:43anointed,
33:44it was me.
33:46Oh, I feel by the presence and the
33:49anointing of the Holy Spirit today that
33:52so many of you
33:55God is walking the earth by the spirit
33:59and he's looking to anoint you. Listen
34:02to me.
34:04There's an oil
34:07all over your head.
34:10God is searching the earth looking
34:13to anoint you,
34:17>> but you're not in the right position.
34:21>> You're like David's brother.
34:24You want to be on display.
34:27Your pride is what's destroying you.
34:32David was in the backside of the desert
34:34working. God is always looking for
34:37humble people. If my people who are
34:40called by my name would humble
34:43themsself, praise and seek my face.
34:47Watch this. Turn. There has to be a
34:50turning. Listen to me, sir. Listen to
34:52me, ma'am. Until you turn,
34:55there won't be healing. There won't be
34:58deliverance. You got to turn from your
35:00wicked ways.
35:03Come on now. You got to turn, man.
35:06[music]
35:07And now is the time. And now is the
35:09moment to turn.
35:13>> To turn.
35:15>> I want you to bow your heads.
35:18>> I want you to close your eyes if you can
35:20so nobody's distracted. I'm going to let
35:21you go.
35:25But I don't know who this message was
35:27for.
35:30But I'm telling you today, sir, ma'am
35:34David,
35:38verse 12.
35:41Verse 12. Put it up on the screen for
35:44me. Verse 12.
35:46Verse 12 is very important.
35:50It It is the heartbeat of every
35:53believer.
35:55Restore to me.
35:59restore.
36:04Sir, you have lost your joy, man.
36:08Come on, woman of God.
36:12Don't don't don't sugarcoat this. Your
36:16joy left a long time ago.
36:20And God is saying, you ought to be like
36:23David. Restore the joy
36:26of your salvation.
36:29and help me to have a willing spirit so
36:31I can be sustained. Father, I thank you
36:34that those who are streaming, those who
36:36are on campus, heard your word today and
36:40you challenge us to be restored.
36:45Oh, I sense that there are so many men,
36:49so many men
36:52who have given up on dreaming,
36:57given up on becoming the best version of
37:01themselves
37:02because they have allowed their past
37:04mistakes
37:08to dictate
37:10that they are failures.
37:14these men, there's no failure in them
37:17because if you can still use David, you
37:20can use them, too.
37:23So, I thank you that today's a day of
37:26revival for your men, for these women.
37:29Today's a day of restoration for them.
37:33And we thank you quickly with every head
37:36bowed, every eyes still closed.
37:40Ladies, please excuse me
37:43by just doing this specifically for men.
37:51Doesn't mean you don't need it to. But I
37:53want every [music] man
37:56who feel that this message was yours
38:00and you know in your heart
38:02you lost the joy. You lost the joy of
38:06serving God
38:09and you know you have to get it back. I
38:11want you to come meet me down to the
38:14front. Meet me right here. Come on. Meet
38:17me right here. You lost the joy. You
38:20lost it.
38:22You lost it. Don't play with this now.
38:25You know you lost it. Come on. Come on,
38:28guys. Come on.
38:34>> [music]
38:38>> You lost it.
38:41You lost it.
38:45You lost it.
38:51[music]
38:53Come on.
38:56Come on.
38:58Come on.
38:59Keep
39:02>> [applause and music]
39:05>> Now, I'm not going to drag this out cuz
39:08we got to get out of here. I'm not going
39:10to drag this out.
39:14But some of you guys are in your seat
39:18and you know
39:20God pierced your heart this morning with
39:23the word.
39:27And I'm going to ask you one more time.
39:32The the Holy Spirit is tugging at you. I
39:35need you to get up out of your seat and
39:38I need you to come down here as fast as
39:41you can. Do not play with this moment.
39:47Don't play with this moment.
39:50[music]
39:54Don't play with this moment.
39:58Don't play with this moment.
40:02Thank you.
40:04Thank you. Now,
40:08we're going to [music] pray with you
40:11and then we're going to let you go. But
40:12here's the thing I want to tell all of
40:14you, all of you men.
40:16And here pastor today,
40:22you don't have a lot of time.
40:27I don't care your age.
40:29You don't have a lot of time.
40:33You are a target of the enemy.
40:39>> Cuz watch this. If he can get you, watch
40:42this. If he can get you,
40:46He gets your house.
40:50>> If he can get your house, he gets the
40:53woman of your life. He gets your
40:56children.
40:57He gets your wealth. And he gets your
41:00legacy.
41:03Now you have to make the choice to
41:05decide whether or not you want to give
41:09everything to the devil.
41:12It's all up to you. If you want to call
41:14it quits now and say, "I give up." You
41:18can let him have it all. And trust me,
41:21he's a thief. He comes to kill, steal,
41:24and to destroy.
41:28But if you embrace the word of the Lord
41:30this morning and embrace what [music]
41:33God has to offer you, he says, "I come
41:34that you might have life in abundance
41:38till it overflows."
41:41So what you have to do today is like
41:43David, be honest to God. Tell God your
41:47weakness. Tell God the areas you failed
41:49at. And be the best version of yourself.
41:55Deep on the inside of you, there's a
41:57king. David, there's a king in you.
42:01I don't care what you're struggling
42:03with. I don't care. There's a king in
42:07you. You might have committed a crime.
42:10There's a king in you. You may be
42:13struggling with pornography.
42:15There's a king in you.
42:19You may be struggling with how to manage
42:21a woman. There's a king in you. Probably
42:24haven't supported your children. There's
42:26a king in you.
42:30But as long AS YOU KEEP RUNNING FROM
42:32GOD,
42:34the enemy will destroy you.
42:38But if you be like David, don't hide
42:41your face from me.
42:43>> Don't let my sins cause you to turn your
42:47back towards me. I'm here for you guys.
42:52I will be praying for you daily. And I
42:57don't say that casually.
43:00I am praying for you because I'm telling
43:03you what I see in your future. Listen,
43:07I'm a guy. I can see into the future.
43:11I'm telling you what I see in all of you
43:15is greatness.
43:17But Satan wants to take it from you.
43:20Don't let him have it.
43:23Don't let him have it. Please. I am
43:27begging you, do not let the devil have
43:31your best years.
43:34Take hold of your life now.
43:38Now change now. Turn now. Be a good man
43:44now. Not tomorrow.
43:46Now.
43:49And watch how the joy of your salvation
43:53will be restored.
43:56Watch how you'll be happy even when you
43:58struggle with money.
44:01>> Because it's not things that makes you
44:04happy,
44:05it's God.
44:08>> It's God. [music]
44:11Amen. So do me a favor. Raise your hand.
44:14Everybody stand. Everybody stand.
44:17Everybody stand. Stretch your hands
44:20towards these men. Everybody out there,
44:22those of you are streaming, maybe you're
44:24a man out there and you're saying, "I'm
44:26not in the building, but please pray for
44:28me." Stretch your hands towards the
44:30screen that you're watching.
44:33Father, I pray for these men who are
44:36online and those here in front. They
44:41needed to hear this word. Thank you.
44:44Thank you that they've received it.
44:47And today I believe
44:49they are turning their hearts over to
44:52you. They're like David. Create in me a
44:55clean heart. Renew in me a right spirit.
44:59Would you touch every one of these men
45:02today? I pray that Father, a year from
45:05now when they look back, they'll see the
45:07progress. that you will surround them
45:10with the right men and women in their
45:12lives who will support them on their
45:14faith journey. Thank you that these men
45:18will live to GLORIFY YOU. 20 YEARS from
45:21now, these men would look back and be
45:23able to teach their own children how to
45:27survive a failure, how to pick
45:30themselves back up and turn to God.
45:33Touch them today, I pray. I believe you
45:36kept them alive for such a moment. Some
45:38of them should have been dead a long
45:40time ago, but God, you preserve them for
45:43such a moment like this.
45:47Thank you for blessing them. Thank you
45:49for this congregation. Thank you for
45:52allowing your Holy Spirit to guide us
45:55even through some difficult seasons.
45:58Bless these women. Strengthen them, I
46:00pray. Thank you that they're praying for
46:03us men as we pray for them. bless this
46:06ministry as we come on Wednesday for
46:09Bohemian worship night. Holy Spirit, let
46:12your presence meet us here. And we thank
46:15you that the men, the men will be coming
46:17out this Saturday praying, walking the
46:20property, the grounds of this property,
46:23praying, God, because I believe when men
46:26stand up and begin to pray, God, the the
46:29windows of heaven will begin to open and
46:34you'll pour out blessings upon us and we
46:36give you praise for it in Jesus name.
46:39And everybody shout,
46:41>> amen. Come on, lift your hands and let's
46:43say the benediction. Faith in God will
46:46move mountains out of my life. God bless
46:49you. Thank you all for coming today. See
46:52you on Wednesday. Blessings, brothers.
46:54Blessings, brothers. Come on. Encourage
46:57these men.
