Summary

This sermon explores the transformative power of the 'gift of righteousness,' moving beyond human effort into a covenant relationship where believers receive Christ's character. It emphasizes that while we are incapable of inherent righteousness, God's grace empowers us to live holy lives and access the blessings promised to the upright.

Key points
  • Righteousness is not something a believer achieves through willpower, but a gift to be received through the abundance of grace.
  • The 'Great Valley' of Psalm 23 contains 'paths of righteousness' where God provides a template for right living even in seasons of darkness and trouble.
  • Covenant blessings (favor, protection, provision) are specifically promised to the righteous; however, since no human is inherently righteous, we must put on the character of Christ.
  • Holiness and modesty are born out of a transformed nature, not just a set of church rules; they are external expressions of the internal DNA of Jesus.
  • Every believer is more valuable to God than the price He paid at Calvary, because God is a wise investor who restores us to be His hands, eyes, and voice on earth.

Life application

This week, when you face a frustrating situation or fail in your character, immediately pivot from self-condemnation to receiving God's forgiveness. Practice asking for 'equity of character' by saying, 'Lord, I receive your righteousness in this moment.'

Reflection questions
  1. In what areas have you been trying to 'establish your own righteousness' rather than submitting to God's?
  2. The speaker mentions that 'fasting gets my flesh out of the way so prayer can bring His character.' How does this change your perspective on spiritual disciplines?
  3. What 'boundaries' do you need to set up to protect yourself from your own weaknesses or addictive tendencies?
  4. How does the revelation that you are 'an investment' of God change how you view your worth and purpose?

0:00Psalms 23 is the great shepherd's psalm.
0:04One of the most quoted passages probably
0:07in the whole Bible.
0:09I call it the great valley. It's the
0:11valley of all valleys. It's the valley
0:12of the shadow of death. It's the great
0:15shepherd, the great psalm and the great
0:18valley. He restores our soul. But he
0:20says he leadth me
0:23in paths.
0:26You have any spirit of revelation? You
0:27see where we're going here? Of
0:29righteousness
0:31>> for his name's sake. There is a path
0:34through the great valley, the shadow of
0:37death, that is a path of righteousness.
0:40>> I believe it's a template for every
0:42valley. No matter what valley you go
0:45through, what darkness you go through,
0:46what trial you're in, what trouble
0:48you're facing, there is a path of right.
0:50It says paths of righteousness, not just
0:52a path. Because there's more than one
0:54trouble, more than one valley, more than
0:56one persecution you go through. But in
0:59every situation you're in, whatever
1:01you're in right now, there's a path of
1:03righteousness.
1:06[applause]
1:07>> Do what's right. Do the right thing.
1:10>> Just because they're nasty, don't you be
1:12nasty.
1:13>> I got convicted the other day dealing
1:15with a gate agent because she was being
1:18so mean and rude to me and sarcastic.
1:20And I held my phone up. She asked what
1:22seat I was in. I held the phone up to
1:24show her and she wouldn't read it. She
1:25says, "Speak to me." I said, "Well, it's
1:27right there. I've done it a hundred
1:29times. Speak to me." And so I told her
1:32my seat number. And then when I was
1:34going through to get on the plane, I put
1:36my phone down to get on the plane and
1:38wasn't using that thing. She was using
1:40the one in her hand. And so I said, "Is
1:42is it that one?" She didn't answer. She
1:44just held it out. I said, "Speak to me."
1:47Isn't that the way it works?
1:50I got on the plane and felt bad
1:53because I when I got on the pl I
1:55realized that wasn't Christlike.
1:58And you might say, "Well, she deserved
2:00it." I kind of think she did, too. But
2:01that's my flesh. That's pride. What made
2:03me do that? Pride. Ego. And so I felt
2:07bad. And I asked the Lord to help me be
2:09a little more like you. Just because she
2:10was that way didn't mean I needed to be
2:12that way. I'm I'm trying to live on a
2:15higher plane. and I'm trying to be
2:16delivered from all that stuff, but my
2:19flesh came through. So, forgive me. I
2:21confess and apologize first to the Lord
2:23and all of you and even for telling you
2:25the story.
2:27But there's a path of righteousness.
2:30There's a pathway of his character and
2:32his nature. And I really do want to be
2:34more like Jesus.
3:35battery.
4:01>> [applause]
4:08>> The whole purpose of our fasting,
4:10there's nothing wrong with fasting and
4:12praying to get power and gifts and all
4:14that, but there are times we fast. We
4:16fast to get our flesh out of the way. We
4:18pray to get more of his character. If
4:21all I'm doing is praying, I'm bringing
4:23his character, but it's clogged up by my
4:25character. If all I'm doing is fasting,
4:27I'm getting myself out of the way, but
4:28then what's left? I need Jesus. So
4:30fasting and prayer complement bringing
4:32his character and getting mine. What it
4:35what the what the John the Baptist said,
4:37I must decrease. He must.
4:39>> That's basically a template for
4:41righteousness.
4:43>> Now, here's what I want to show you. And
4:44I'm going to have to move very quickly
4:45here. Is everybody warmed up?
4:47I want to move fast because I want you
4:50to hear all of this to give you an o I'm
4:52not interested in you remembering all
4:53this. I want to give you an overview
4:55that all of this will show you. The path
4:57of righteousness is the stockpiled
4:59pathway with every good and perfect
5:01gift.
5:03We look at some of these promises in the
5:05Bible and we just think we can have all
5:06of it. No, they have conditions. They're
5:08covenant. A covenant is a two-way
5:11promise. Covenant is I will if you will.
5:15Here's your part. You do that, I'll do
5:17this. That's covenant. And there's so
5:19much of the Bible is covenant. The
5:21righteous man falls seven times and
5:23rises up again.
5:25>> Not just any man, the righteous man.
5:29>> Psalm 5:12, for thou, And you can get
5:31the notes. Uh, for thou Lord will bless
5:33the righteous with favor. Thou will
5:35compass him as a shield. Psalm 34:15,
5:38the eyes of the Lord are upon the
5:40righteous, and his ears are open to
5:43their cry. Proverbs 10:3, "The Lord will
5:46not suffer the soul of the righteous to
5:49famish." James 5:16, "The effectual
5:52fervent prayer of the righteous man
5:55avaleth much." Psalm 97:11, "Light is
5:58sown for the righteous, and gladness for
6:00the upright in heart." You might know
6:03this one. Proverbs 18:10, "The name of
6:05the Lord is a strong tower.
6:09>> The righteous run into it and are safe."
6:13Psalm 37:25, I have been young, now I'm
6:18old, but I have not seen the righteous
6:22forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
6:24You understand? These are not just
6:26thrown out just for everybody. It is you
6:28have to enter into covenant.
6:31[applause]
6:34I fought a good fight. I've kept the
6:36course. There's laid up for me a crown
6:38of righteousness.
6:41Now, I could go on, but I'm I'm going to
6:43get even faster now. Every one of these
6:45things I'm about to say come from a
6:47verse. But if I keep reading these
6:49verses, we going to be here till 8:30
6:50again. There are promises and blessings
6:53for the righteous. Their seed is
6:55blessed. They're provided for in famine.
6:58Their house is blessed. Their hands
7:00prosper. They're fruitful in every
7:02season. All verses in the Bible. They
7:05flourish like a tree. Their path shines
7:07brighter. Their barns are filled. They
7:09lack no good thing. Their end is
7:12blessed. They're surrounded with favor.
7:14They're protected from harm, delivered
7:16from trouble, covered with mercy, secure
7:19and unshaken, never forsaken, guided by
7:22light. No weapon formed against them can
7:25prosper. Angels encamp round about them.
7:28The Lord is their refuge and strength.
7:30Their peace multiplies. Their joy
7:32remains full. They're remembered
7:34forever. Their strength is renewed every
7:36day. They're surrounded by his spirit.
7:37Their prayers are heard. They're
7:39established in quietness and blessed
7:41assurance. The Lord upholds them. Their
7:44righteous dwell in safety. Their
7:46righteous steps are ordered. This It's
7:48the steps of a good man that are ordered
7:50by the Lord. They are filled with
7:51wisdom. They're crowned with glory.
7:53They're lifted in due time. Their tongue
7:54speaks life. Their name endures. They
7:56inherit the land. They shine as a light
7:58in the darkness. They increase with
8:00favor with God and man. Their
8:02righteousness endures forever.
8:05>> [cheering]
8:06>> Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his
8:10righteousness, and all these things
8:13shall be added unto you. Let's go ahead
8:14and clap our hands and love the Lord.
8:17[applause]
8:18Hallelujah.
8:20[cheering]
8:23>> We're not seeking the things tonight.
8:25We're seeking We're seeking the kingdom
8:28and we're seeking the king.
8:31>> Let me tell you why you might be
8:32struggling a little bit with all of
8:34this.
8:35It is. I could take a lot more time here
8:38and prove to you biblically that all
8:41these blessings, all these anointings,
8:43all this power is for the righteous. You
8:46have to enter into the covenant and be
8:48walking in righteousness to qualify for
8:50all the good stuff coming down from
8:52heaven.
8:54But you know what the problem is?
8:57Romans 3:10.
9:00There's none righteous, know not one.
9:05It's what I call a train wreck sermon.
9:08>> You can't have all the good stuff
9:10without walking in right now. Now, now,
9:11now let me qualify. You can get
9:13salvation. The worst, dirtiest, nastiest
9:16sinner in the world can come to the
9:18altar of repentance and go to the waters
9:20of baptism and be filled with the
9:21spirit.
9:23Salvation is for all of the carnality
9:26and the wickedness of humanity. That's
9:29the free gift. That's the shed blood of
9:31Calvar's cross. We're not talking about
9:33getting saved. You don't get righteous
9:35to get saved. You get saved to get
9:37righteous.
9:39>> I'm talking about what comes after
9:40salvation,
9:42after you've sought first the kingdom,
9:46then his righteousness, that all these
9:48things can be added. The Apostle Paul
9:50said, "I travail again for you, my
9:52little children, that Christ might be
9:54formed in you." The first travails, when
9:57Zion travails, she bringeth forth
9:59children. So the first travail is the
10:01birth, the new birth, being born again
10:04of water and spirit. But then Paul said,
10:06"I am travailing now a second time. It's
10:09another travail. And now it's not for
10:10you to be born, but now that Christ can
10:12be formed in you that you can be more
10:15like Jesus."
10:17>> That's where we are tonight.
10:20Well, now what do we do? We're called to
10:22fight the good fight of faith and stand
10:24firm and overcome evil. Having done all
10:27to stand, stand therefore. But even with
10:29all of our best intentions, we always
10:31come up short, don't we?
10:34>> Because humanity is not intrinsically
10:36righteous.
10:37Our carnal mind is enmity against God.
10:40It It's not subject to the laws of God.
10:42It can't even be. You can't be righteous
10:44no matter how hard you try.
10:49>> So, how are we going to get all this
10:50good stuff?
10:52Even if you do succeed for a little
10:53while doing good, you know, you're a
10:55very highly disciplined person that's
10:57able to, you know, do the right thing,
10:59that's not going to get you there
11:00because that's self righteousness.
11:04If you're just doing it by your strength
11:06and your power, that's where phariseism
11:08comes from. Legalism comes from. What we
11:10call the holier and then thou attitude
11:13comes from. That comes from people who
11:15said, "I did it. You should be able to
11:17do it."
11:18>> Okay, maybe I need to make it plain. I
11:20quit smoking. you need to quit smoking.
11:23>> Well, maybe you got got a lot of good
11:25willpower. Maybe I need the help of the
11:26Lord.
11:28>> I can tell you when I was 19 years old,
11:30I was addicted to all kinds of stuff and
11:32I was able to lay some of it down. But
11:34boy, I struggled with them cigarettes. I
11:35told the Lord, "I can't do it. I'm
11:37trying. It ain't working. I'm trying my
11:39best. I'm not breaking this habit."
11:42The Lord helped me.
11:44>> I never forget the day I was driving
11:46along in my car. I reached, it was a
11:48brand new pack of Mr. I popped the top
11:51off of it and the Lord said, "Right now,
11:53I will deliver you."
11:56Now, this is going to sound a little
11:57corny. You know, I was young and I was
11:59addicted and I was laying down all kinds
12:00of stuff and it I mean, tears swelled up
12:03in my eyes cuz I wanted one so bad. But
12:06I felt like the Lord said, "If you'll do
12:08it right now, I'll deliver you." And I
12:10said, "Lord, you're going I need your
12:12help. I you're going to have to help
12:13me." I crunched it in my hand, tossed it
12:16out the window. I get the littering
12:17later. I crunched it up, tossed it out,
12:19and from that moment to this moment
12:22tonight, I've never smoked another one.
12:24But I didn't do it. He did it.
12:28[applause]
12:29I did not deliver myself.
12:33Now, my stepfather, who smoked many more
12:36years than I did, he got baptized,
12:39wasn't even filled with the Holy Ghost
12:41yet. He came home, took his out of every
12:43drawer and place he had, tossed them in
12:45the trash, and never touched another
12:46one. and he was eventually filled with
12:47the Holy Ghost. He just had more human
12:50willpower than I was able to muster for
12:52that one particular thing.
12:55You can't be righteous. You need his
12:56righteousness. Romans 10:3, for they
12:59being ignorant of God's righteousness,
13:02going about to establish their own
13:04righteousness, have not submitted
13:06themselves under the righteousness of
13:08God. So, I'm not here telling you that
13:12you need to buy your own power. You have
13:14to participate. You have to be a part,
13:16but you have to let him be your
13:18strength. Lord, I can't do it. I need
13:19your help. If you'll help me, I'm going
13:21to try. But I've tried before and
13:23failed, but when I try this time, it's
13:25going to succeed. Because the Lord will
13:27help you with anything you demonstrate
13:30your desire. It's what I preached about
13:32on the warrior's hammer. If you'll just
13:34demonstrate a desire, everything will
13:35start lining up.
13:39That's why you're struggling with
13:40holiness because holiness has to be born
13:43out of righteousness. Righteousness is
13:45the character of the DNA, the divine
13:47nature. It's being like Jesus. And then
13:49when I come to something that is immoral
13:52or ungodly or sinful or worldly, I I I I
13:55get to I can't do that. Not because it's
13:58a rule of the church, not because, you
14:00know, I'm trying to live a set of of
14:02commandments, but rather because it
14:04violates the nature of Jesus Christ that
14:06lives in me. I cannot dress that way. I
14:10cannot identify that way. I do not want
14:12to identify with the world.
14:15I'm trying to identify. I was talking to
14:17a man, many many many couple years back.
14:20We were on an airplane together and he
14:21he was telling me that, you know, he had
14:23kind of he had strayed away. He had took
14:25off the breastplate of righteousness.
14:26what he had done straight away. And he
14:28said, "You know, now I'm in a quandry."
14:30He said, "I'm I'm too conservative for
14:32the some groups I'm in and I'm too
14:33liberal for other groups I'm in." I
14:36said, "It sounds to me like you need to
14:37decide which team you're on.
14:40Wear the uniform. We'll know which team
14:42you're on.
14:45You have no trouble figuring out, you
14:46know, when you see a doctor or nurse,
14:48they're dressed for it. You don't have
14:50trouble recognizing a football player,
14:52they're dressed for it. Baseball player,
14:53they're dressed for it. airline pilot,
14:56they're dressed for it. It there is an
14:58identity that comes with roles. You want
15:01to be a Christian, dress like one.
15:04>> How hard is that? Is that too difficult
15:06to receive? There is a there's a way
15:09that is right. There's something that is
15:10modest. Holiness is rooted in modesty.
15:14It's it's rooted in separation from
15:16worldliness. And it's rooted in the
15:18distinction of the sexes. God made us
15:21male and female. Let's keep our
15:23identities. God gave you your image. You
15:26don't have to change it. You don't have
15:27to enhance it. You don't have to make it
15:28better. When we do all this stuff, we're
15:31basically telling God, "You didn't do a
15:32good job with me.
15:34>> You made me wrong, and I don't like what
15:36you made me, so I'm going to I'm going
15:38to make myself something. I'm going to
15:39recreate me
15:41in the image I want to be." No, we take
15:45him and let him create us in his image.
15:48>> Said in the image of God created he
15:51them. So be a woman of God. Be a man of
15:54God. Dress like a woman. Dress like a
15:56man. Don't dress like the world. Dress
15:58like a Christian. Dress modestly. Dress
16:00godly. Take on an identity that says,
16:04"This is who I am. This is these are my
16:06people. This is the team I'm on. Come
16:09out from the world. Be ye separate."
16:12Righteousness brings the character of
16:14Christ in our hearts. Holiness is
16:16expressed when we separate from the
16:18world and avoid the very appearance of
16:20evil. withdraw from every work of
16:22darkness. And then I've already preached
16:23about it on Sunday, but people get
16:25caught up in heaven and hell. It ain't
16:27even about all that. Once you get saved,
16:28you got saved to avoid hell. You went to
16:31the waters of baptism so that the sin
16:33penalty could be blotted out. Now you're
16:36resurrected to walk in the newness of
16:37life. Now I'm trying to be a disciple.
16:41I can't do some things, go some places,
16:43talk certain ways, wear certain things
16:46because it would it's just not
16:47Christlike.
16:49He said, "Be holy because I am holy."
16:51That's the heart of everything.
16:54So, you have to be righteous to get all
16:55the good stuff. Holiness is born out of
16:58righteousness. Don't even have time to
17:00go into this. But then godliness is the
17:03result of righteousness and holiness
17:05being expressed. The world says that's a
17:07godly man. That's a godly woman.
17:10Godliness is basically your um witness,
17:14your expression of righteousness and
17:16holiness coming together. That's
17:18godliness.
17:21I must be righteous to receive the
17:23blessings and favor of God. But it's
17:25impossible to be righteous because of my
17:27fallen nature. So what's the remedy?
17:31I'm going to read it to you in Romans
17:335:17. This is the heart of the
17:35revelation I want to share with you that
17:37changed my life dramatically.
17:40For if by one man's offense,
17:43death reigned by one, that's Adam
17:45because Adam and Eve in the garden. By
17:47one man's offense, death reigned by one.
17:50Much more they which receive abundance
17:53of grace. Everybody say grace.
17:56>> Which receive abundance of grace
17:58and the gift. Everybody say gift.
18:02>> I mean I want you to shout it out. The
18:03gift.
18:04>> One more time. The gift.
18:06>> You receive the abundance of grace and
18:09the gift of righteousness shall reign in
18:12life by one which is Jesus Christ.
18:16You do not achieve righteousness. You
18:19receive righteousness.
18:23[applause]
18:27Nothing's impossible for God.
18:30>> Let me read to you from Psalms 24. Who
18:33shall ascend to the hill of the Lord?
18:35That's signs, wonders, miracles, power,
18:37glory. Who shall ascend to the hill of
18:39the Lord? Who shall stand in his holy
18:41place? Who's going to feel the powerful
18:44presence of God? He that hath clean
18:46hands and a pure heart, who has not
18:49lifted his soul to vanity, that's pride,
18:51nor sworn deceitfully, he shall receive
18:54the blessing of the Lord and
18:56righteousness from the God of his
18:58salvation.
19:00I need the righteousness because there's
19:02nothing impossible for God. The great
19:04apostle Paul said it this way in one
19:06place. HE SAID, "OH CARNAL man that I
19:09am."
19:11>> He said, "The good that I would do, I
19:14don't do it. And that that I would not
19:17do that I do." He said, "There are two
19:20members waring inside of me." You better
19:23thank God if there's two.
19:25Cuz there's a lot of people ain't even
19:27fighting it.
19:29There's not even anything inside them
19:31protesting. They can participate in
19:33every manner of sin and ungodliness and
19:36worldliness and there is no voice of
19:38opposition. But if you got two members,
19:40if you're at war with yourself,
19:41sometimes you need to thank God for
19:43that. That means there's something in
19:45you that's trying to help you rise above
19:47the destructive nature of sin. There's
19:49something protesting. Look in the
19:51mirror. Is there anything protesting
19:53what you see? Look, look, look at your
19:55life. Is there anything protesting your
19:57failures and your faults and the places
19:58you're participating in sin? You want
20:01something to rise up and protest it.
20:05But Paul also, he that's not the only
20:07thing he ever said. You go a few
20:08chapters later, he said, "The life I now
20:11live, I live by faith of the son of
20:13God." He said, "I live yet not I. It is
20:18Christ in me, the hope of glory."
20:24>> Christ in you is your only hope.
20:28>> Hear me, child of God. Christ in you is
20:31your only hope.
20:33>> That's why Jesus said, "I am with you,
20:35but I shall be in you." That's why we
20:38receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
20:42Because there's no way to be righteous
20:44without his spirit. There's no way to be
20:46holy without his spirit. It is not
20:49possible in the realm of humanity to
20:52achieve any type of righteousness or
20:54holiness. It's got to come through his
20:56nature.
20:59I think I already told you this, but
21:01I'll tell you again.
21:03I've lived my whole life trying to
21:05overcome my personality,
21:08overcome my thought patterns and just
21:11things that I adapted and adopted
21:13through the years, things I did, things
21:14that happened to me. And I thought I had
21:17really gotten somewhere when I decided I
21:19was going to present to the world Klein
21:202.0,
21:22a kind and gentle man with a tender
21:26heart.
21:27I was sitting with my son. He's 30
21:29something years old now. I said, "Hey,
21:32if something happens to your dad, I'd
21:34die soon. At my funeral, I want you to
21:38tell everybody and remember that I was a
21:40kind and gentle man with a tender
21:42heart."
21:44He said, "I better write that down."
21:48[snorts]
21:50He said, "Dad, I'll say it, but I'm not
21:51sure everybody's going to know who I'm
21:52talking about." I said, "Come on, son.
21:55Work with me here. I'm trying kind.
21:57[snorts] I've been telling everybody.
22:00If something happens to me, brother Hat
22:02had my wife calls you to speak at my
22:03funeral. He was a kind and gentle man
22:06with a tender heart.
22:10I've been trying to do better.
22:12But when I got this revelation, I
22:14realized it makes no difference how hard
22:16I try, how many books I read, and
22:19self-help. We don't need self-help
22:21books. We need Jesus help books.
22:24[cheering and applause]
22:24Not trying to help myself. I'm trying to
22:26let him help me. I'm participating. I'm
22:29putting in the effort. I'm trying. I'm
22:32not I'm not saying you just stand there
22:33and say, "Okay, make me righteous."
22:36No, you got to try. You got to
22:38participate. You got to put some effort
22:41into it. But I'm saying your effort and
22:44your trying by itself will never get you
22:46there. Once you try, you know, I come up
22:48to preach a message. I've studied.
22:51>> I don't just walk up. Now, last night I
22:53just was flowing, you know, but I spoke
22:54a lot of things that I had studied out
22:56before they came out. You know, study to
22:59show yourself approval. Workman needeth
23:00not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
23:02word of truth. If you don't put anything
23:03in, you can't get anything out. You got
23:05to put forth the effort. You got to try.
23:07You got to participate. I'm just saying
23:09the Lord will anoint or empower your
23:12efforts and make them successful.
23:16He will cause you to overcome. You'll
23:19try. You would fail if you were on your
23:21own, but with the help of the Lord.
23:24Here it comes. You've heard it a
23:25thousand times. I can do all things
23:31through Christ. See, that's the
23:33righteous. I can do all things through
23:35Christ which strengthens me. I'm going
23:39to attempt the impossible. I'm getting
23:42out of this boat. I'm putting my feet
23:44out on the water and the Lord's going to
23:47help me walk. [cheering and applause]
23:49Now, the the fellas that didn't even try
23:50to get out of the boat didn't walk on
23:52the water.
23:54>> And only the one that walked on the
23:55water was the one that tried
23:58>> and then the Lord empowered him. I will
24:01speak to you in prophecy right now and I
24:03will tell you by prophetic declaration
24:05and utterance. If you will put forth the
24:07effort, the Lord will anoint your
24:09effort. The Lord will strengthen you. He
24:12will help you seek his righteousness.
24:17pursue his righteousness.
24:20Pursue it with fasting. How does fasting
24:23help me be more righteous? Fasting helps
24:25me get my carnal out of the way, my
24:28pride, my arrogance, my my
24:30intellectualism, my personalities, my
24:32temper, my addictions. Uh I know I'm
24:36doing a lot of confessing along the way.
24:38I hope I don't destroy your image of me.
24:40I'm just I'm just a sinner saved by
24:41grace like the rest of you. But uh I
24:44have a very addictive personality. At
24:45least at least I say I did. I I will
24:48confess I've been changed a lot through
24:5040 years. So I have to be careful about
24:52things that I open myself to or allow
24:54myself to because I my my particular
24:56personality and carnality is very
24:58addictive. I had shingles several years
25:01ago and went to the doctor and I want
25:03some pain meds. Give me something. I'm
25:05hurting. You know, not just the thing on
25:06my side, but the shingles is chickenpox
25:08on the inside. I said a lot of pain. I
25:12said, "Give me some pain meds." And the
25:14doctor said, "Rev, I can give them to
25:15you." He said, "But this ain't going
25:17away like in a few days." He said, "Pain
25:19meds are for short term." He said, "This
25:22not going away. You It's going to be a
25:24little while." And he said, "You could
25:25run the risk of being addicted." I said,
25:27"Well, don't give them to me because if
25:29it's possible, I'm the guy.
25:32If it can happen, it'll happen to me.
25:33Don't I'm not taking the first one if
25:35that's the problem." Amen. And so, I
25:38just kind of like learned how to adjust
25:39my lifestyle a little bit. Why? I didn't
25:41even want to open the door to something
25:43that I already know I'm weak to.
25:47Sometime you have to set up boundaries
25:48to protect yourself from yourself.
25:52[cheering and applause] So fasting helps
25:54get yourself out of the way. Prayer
25:56brings the power of God. And there is no
25:59more important pursuit than fasting and
26:01praying to be more like Jesus to get the
26:04help of the Lord. Pursue his
26:06righteousness. Pursue his character. Do
26:10not discard the robe of righteousness.
26:12Do not do and let your prayers be that I
26:15can be more like you. Let me tell you
26:16something that has changed as I begin
26:18every day of my life in some way or the
26:21other. I ask the Lord and seek the Lord
26:23for his righteousness. When I do
26:26something like I did at the airport the
26:27other day, you know, the older you get,
26:29the longer you've been living for God,
26:30the more subtle your sins get. I'm not
26:32running with wild women doing all kinds
26:34of crazy stuff like that, you know, but
26:36but your sins get subtle like that. My
26:39little attitude problem I had with the
26:41lady wasn't Christlike. As far as I'm
26:44concerned, I sinned and I needed to
26:45repent and get right with God. And so,
26:48um,
26:50what what what this has done for me that
26:52since I've been seeking righteousness
26:53every day, years gone by, I just sat on
26:57that plane and for the next hour, the
26:59devil would have beat my brains out.
27:01Supposed to be a preacher, supposed to
27:02be a man of God. You're go telling
27:04everybody else how to live. Look at your
27:06attitude. Who are you to go tell people
27:08what to do and getting up preaching to
27:09everybody? And look, you smart Alec to
27:11everybody. You think that lady's ever
27:13going to want to have your God after you
27:14talked to her like that? For the next
27:16hour, it would just be condemnation,
27:17condemnation, condemnation. And by the
27:19time I got off the plane, I'd feel like
27:21such a hypocrite and such a failure.
27:25>> You know what I do now? You know what I
27:26did this time because of this
27:27revelation? I go on the plane. I said,
27:29"Lord, obviously I need more of you.
27:31There's still too much of me and not
27:33enough of you. So, I'm asking you for
27:36more righteousness. I know what I did
27:37was wrong. I know I shouldn't have said
27:39it. And I'm asking you, Lord, to forgive
27:41me and help me have more of your
27:42character. Because there is therefore
27:44now no condemnation
27:47to them
27:49that are
27:52in Christ Jesus.
27:54>> You got to get in his spirit. I just We
27:56just need more of Jesus.
28:00So now some people may say and I'm
28:04trying to make a strong argument so that
28:07you don't pick this up the wrong way.
28:09Some people may assume this is very uh
28:11performanceoriented,
28:13you know, um merit-based that you have
28:17to do all these good things and qualify
28:19so God can bless you. That is exactly
28:21the opposite of what I'm trying to say.
28:23I'm trying to say the Lord will help you
28:24do those good things. Sometimes because
28:27we preach so strongly, you need to be
28:28water baptized in the name of Jesus to
28:30be saved, filled with the spirit. People
28:31say, I'm saved by grace, not by works.
28:34No, you're not saved by your works.
28:38Repentance and baptism in the Holy
28:39Ghost. That's his works.
28:41>> That's not works of righteousness that
28:43I've done. That's the death, the burial,
28:46and the resurrection. I repent. I'm
28:48crucified with Christ. I'm
28:50waterbaptized. I'm buried with Christ. I
28:53receive the spirit. I'm resurrected with
28:55Christ. That's not my works. That's his
28:58works. If he hadn't gone to Calvary and
29:01shed the blood, none of that would do
29:03anything for anybody. I don't want to
29:05bust anybody's BUBBLE, BUT THAT'S JUST
29:07WATER up there.
29:09>> They just ran it out of the spot. THAT
29:12WATER IS NOT going to make you clean.
29:14>> You know what's going to make you clean?
29:16I now baptize you in the name of the
29:18Lord Jesus Christ.
29:22If you're baptized into Christ, that can
29:24clean you up. It's not the water, it's
29:27the name.
29:29>> Well, why is it the name? Because the
29:31name brings his blood.
29:35His His blood is connected to his name.
29:39>> That's why we all have last names. Tells
29:41us what our bloodline is.
29:43[snorts] I think it's Acts 5.
29:46It's either 520 or 528. I think it's
29:48528. The apostle Peter and John um I am
29:53going to make a strong effort to be done
29:54in seven minutes. The apostle Peter and
29:57John been out preaching everywhere. They
30:00get they get taken, arrested, brought
30:04before the council. And the the the
30:06Bible wording is they commanded them to
30:09neither preach
30:11nor teach in his name
30:15>> and then told the reason why you attempt
30:18to bring this man's blood on us. See,
30:21this is after the crucifixion. By
30:23preaching or teaching in his name,
30:26you're bringing his blood on us. That
30:28wasn't preaching. That was was it 528?
30:32520. 528. Acts 528. You're you they
30:36command, don't preach his name. Don't
30:37teach his name. You're bringing his
30:38blood on us. That was heathens. That
30:40wasn't a preacher. That wasn't camp
30:42meeting. That wasn't a conference.
30:43That's what the heathen ruler said. They
30:46didn't want his blood on them.
30:50You know what I'm getting ready to say?
30:53We want his blood on us.
30:56That's why we're preaching Jesus name
30:58all the time. THEY DON'T WANT HIS BLOOD.
30:59WE WANT HIS BLOOD. What can wash away my
31:02sins?
31:04>> Nothing but the blood. So that's when we
31:07go to the water. You've got to say the
31:10name. Because we speak the name, IT
31:12BRINGS HIS BLOOD ON US.
31:15[applause and cheering]
31:18[snorts]
31:18>> Somebody ought to shout, "I receive it."
31:20>> I receive it.
31:22So,
31:24where is grace in all this? I ain't
31:26going to worry about all that. I'm just
31:27living by grace. Saved by grace, not by
31:30works. Saved by grace. Doesn't matter
31:32what I do, how I live, what I do. I'm
31:33saved by grace. I was talking to a
31:35[clears throat] man one time. He was
31:36taking issue with my preaching. I don't
31:38know why, but he was. And um HE SAID, "I
31:43GOT SAVED WHEN I WAS WHATEVER, SEVEN,
31:44EIGHT, nine years old." He said, "I've
31:47been strung out on cocaine. I was strung
31:49out on heroin for so many years. I was
31:51in prison for so many years. I've done
31:52all He said, "I NEVER ONE TIME DOUBTED
31:54my salvation."
31:56I said, "Okay." I said, "Question.
32:00What were you saved from?
32:04What'd you get saved from? If your life
32:07hadn't changed at all, you're still
32:09sinning. You're still angry. You're
32:11still got a temper. You're still
32:13lustful. You're still full of pride.
32:15You're still addicted. You're still What
32:17did you get rescued from?
32:20I mean, if you're drowning you for
32:22somebody to save you, you want them to
32:23pull you out
32:25>> of the condition you're in.
32:27>> Salvation is saving me. I don't know
32:30about you, but I was out there in the
32:31world and I remember getting down by
32:33that sofa. I was high as a kite. I had
32:35cigarettes everywhere, Michelobo bottles
32:37everywhere. I got down by my sofa and I
32:39said, "Lord, if you're out there and you
32:41can hear me, I need help.
32:43Save me, LORD." I WANTED OUT OF THE
32:47MESS. I COULDN'T GET OUT. THE LORD
32:49BROUGHT ME OUT. The Lord SAVED ME. HE
32:53SAVED ME FROM ALL OF THOSE THINGS.
32:56[applause]
32:58GRACE, where does it fit in?
33:01Do you know that the Bible says, well,
33:02let me find it here. Romans 5:21.
33:06Sin hath reigned unto death.
33:10Even so might grace
33:13reign through righteousness
33:15unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our
33:19Lord.
33:20Grace is his favor.
33:23The actual definition everybody says
33:25unmmerited favor because it's the easy
33:28definition. The first definition which
33:30is always the primary definition is a
33:33little more complicated and extensive.
33:35The actual Greek word karice for grace
33:39in definition means the divine influence
33:44of God upon the heart reflecting in the
33:49life. You see why everybody says
33:51unmmerited favor. It's a whole lot
33:52easier. The influence of God upon the
33:54heart. What's the greatest influencing
33:56attribute of God? His love. There's
33:58nothing that affects us more. And what's
34:00the greatest demonstration of his love?
34:02Greater love no man than this. that he
34:04laid down his life for his friends.
34:05Calvary is the greatest demonstration of
34:07love. That is the greatest expression of
34:11his influence on our lives, which is
34:14what grace is. Great. He went to the
34:16cross before we are ever born. He died
34:18while we were yet sinners. That's grace.
34:21It's undeserved favor that was already
34:23put in place. But grace reigns or rules
34:27through righteousness.
34:29Grace is expressed. Now, righteousness
34:32is his character. Grace is where all the
34:34blessings are. Grace is where all the
34:35good stuff is. Grace is where his favor
34:37and his prosperity and all the stuff we
34:40all want. That is the grace of God.
34:45But grace is expressed through
34:46righteousness.
34:49It reigns. It rules. It governs. It
34:51expresses. It releases through
34:52righteousness.
34:54So, do you know Paul taught him in
34:56Galatians 2:21, "I do not frustrate the
34:59grace of God.
35:02For if righteousness come by the law,
35:04then Christ is dead in vain." In other
35:07words, if you can become righteous
35:08through any means other than the cross,
35:11you've made the cross unimportant.
35:14I didn't even need the cross. I did it
35:16myself. No, you need him to help you.
35:20That's why he suffered and died that I
35:23can receive his spirit. And when I
35:25receive his spirit, when I receive his
35:27character, when I receive his
35:28righteousness, then grace, all of his
35:31blessings and favor and anointing and
35:33power and influence can set up rulership
35:36on the throne of grace and his righteous
35:38character in my life. And now all the
35:40good stuff can start happening.
35:43The [snorts] Bible says you can turn his
35:44grace into lasciviousness, which
35:46basically means you're just going to sin
35:48as much as you want to and suppose
35:49you're going to be saved by grace. That
35:51is not what the Bible teaches at all.
35:53His grace is his ability that he gives
35:56you to live the way the Bible commands
35:58you to live. The Bible says you have to
36:00do this and this. If you love me, keep
36:02my commandments. We love him, but we
36:04don't have the power within oursel to
36:06keep his commandments. He says that's
36:07not a problem. I'm going to give you my
36:09spirit so you have the power to fulfill
36:12the commands that will lead you to my
36:13blessings.
36:15>> I mean, what more could we ask for? I
36:18mean, it's designed for our great
36:20success.
36:21[snorts] Let me end with this.
36:25If I I come back and preach next year, I
36:28may I I flowed so fluidly with a lot of
36:30stuff, I might not even remember all the
36:32stuff I told you. You won't either. So,
36:34it'll be good to see it say it again.
36:37my mentor, brother Billy Cole. I realize
36:39some of you probably never heard of him
36:41know he died in 2019.
36:43Uh, excuse me, 2009, 2009.
36:47It's been a lot of years. But, uh, as he
36:50was on his deathbed and um was dying, I
36:54was visiting him a lot because I knew
36:56his time was near. He told me of a I
37:00guess it was a vision. He felt like he
37:01saw the Lord.
37:04He said, 'I was approaching the Jordan
37:06River, crossing over to the other side
37:08into eternity, but before I got to it, I
37:11saw the Lord coming and he stepped over
37:13Jordan on my side. And he said he was
37:16still a little ways off, but close
37:17enough. And you'd have to know him.
37:19You'd have to know the bishop. He had a
37:21kind of an eccentric personality. He's
37:24talking to me and he says, I began to
37:26explain to the Lord
37:29that I had done my very best to be
37:31apostolic
37:32that I had tried to preach the apostles
37:34doctrine. I tried to have the power of
37:37the apostles, the signs, wonders, and
37:39demonstration of the apostles. And he
37:42said, I told the Lord, I don't know if
37:44I've been successful or not. I don't
37:47know if I have done well, but I have
37:49tried my very best to pattern my
37:52ministry after the apostles. Not
37:55something desperately terrible. The Lord
37:56said we would believe on him through
37:59their word. That's in John 17.
38:03He said, and he's crying now. Tears are
38:05flowing down the bishop's face. He he he
38:08was eccentric. He liked to hold hands.
38:09That was a very awkward thing for me for
38:11a long time till he became more like a
38:13father to me.
38:15But he how he's holding my hand. He's
38:17squeezing my hand. Tears are running
38:18down his cheeks. And he turns to me and
38:21he says, "The Lord spoke to me firmly,
38:24softly." He said, "Yes, you have done
38:28well in being like the apostles. You
38:32have patterned your ministry after the
38:34apostles, but my desire for you was that
38:38you would have been more
38:41>> like me." Glory to God.
38:44the great apostle of my life. I saw
38:48signs, wonders, miracles, the dead
38:50raised, blind eyes open, people receive
38:53the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He was
38:55used so mightily of God. Tears are
38:58flowing down his cheeks. He's holding my
39:00hand. He said, "Son, certainly be
39:03apostolic.
39:05Certainly preached the apostles doctrine
39:07and the apostles power." He said, "But
39:09do better than I did.
39:12be more like Jesus than I was. That was
39:162009.
39:18I mean, I feel like you can stand with
39:19me. I am finishing here. I feel like I'm
39:22just now kind of getting on the first
39:24steps of the road of being more like
39:27Jesus.
39:30There's a holiness that has come here
39:31and I feel the Lord wants me to tell
39:33this.
39:39Just go ahead and worship a minute. You
39:40may you may need it to be able to
39:43receive what I'm about to say cuz it's
39:44pretty [music] strong. Ah, open my
39:47heart. Open my mind. I want to be more
39:50like you, Jesus. Help me soften my
39:53heart. Would you pray and ask the Lord
39:54to soften your heart right here? Help me
39:57receive a strong meat of your word
40:03[music] without going into the depth of
40:05it and qualifying it.
40:09You can study into the original Greek
40:12language of the word righteousness and
40:14you will come across words like equity
40:16of character.
40:19Equity [music]
40:20of character.
40:23This character being the character of
40:24Jesus Christ.
40:27I don't know how many of you know what
40:29equity is
40:31in the financial realm. Equity is the
40:35value of a property or an asset. The
40:39value that is greater or exceeds the
40:42debt.
40:44That's equity. If you uh if you own a
40:47home that's worth $350,000
40:50and you owe $250,000 on it, you have
40:54100,000 equity.
40:57Your property is valued at 100,000 more
41:00than the debt against [music] it. That's
41:02equity. If righteousness is equity of
41:06the character of Christ, here's how the
41:09whole thing works.
41:12When we come to him, [music] at least
41:15when I did, and I think all of us, I was
41:17a dilapidated, rundown shack. My
41:21foundations were broken. My roof was
41:23leaking. My windows were crashed out.
41:26Floors were [music] warped. I was an old
41:29shack. I wasn't worth anything. I had no
41:32real value.
41:34And yet the Lord paid the ultimate
41:36price.
41:38Shed blood of a righteous savior.
41:41He shed blood.
41:44Gave his life to save to purchase me.
41:49Bought me with his blood. He paid with
41:52blood. My debt is the blood of Calvary.
41:56My debt is the old rugged cross. My debt
42:00is the nails and the whip and the crown
42:02of thorns.
42:05But he's a wise investor.
42:08He paid the ultimate price for me.
42:12The Bible says he endured the cross. He
42:15despised the shame,
42:17but he did it for the joy that was set
42:20before him. What could that be? He said,
42:24"I'm going to buy you. I'm going to pay
42:26the ultimate price.
42:28And even though you have all these
42:29problems and you don't, we all come to
42:31him feeling somewhat worthless, [snorts]
42:34but he says, "No worries. I'm going to
42:36move in.
42:38And when I move in, I'm going to start
42:39fixing up." He started repairing my
42:42foundations and the windows and the
42:44floorboards and the roof. And you know,
42:46when you start investing in a property,
42:48when you start moving in and fixing it
42:50up, it starts gaining value, right? You
42:54put in the new windows, you have value.
42:56you fix the roof or put on a new roof,
42:57you have more value. The value is
42:59increasing.
43:02I hope you're ready for what I'm about
43:03to say.
43:05the power of this great gospel. And the
43:08reason he went to the cross was he said,
43:11"I'm gonna pay this price for you, but
43:14I'm a wise investor because when you
43:16become my hands and you become my eyes
43:20and you become my voice and you become
43:22my light to the world, you are worth
43:25more to me than what I paid to purchase
43:28you."
43:29My brothers and sisters, I release to
43:31you tonight
43:33that a righteous man and a righteous
43:35woman is more valuable than the shed
43:38blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Are he
43:41never paid that price? Anybody want to
43:44make your way to an altar tonight and
43:46lift your hands and say, "I want to I
43:48want to I want to increase in value. I
43:51don't want to make the cross of none
43:53effect." DON'T THINK YOU'RE UNSAVABLE.
43:56WELL, THAT'S TO SAY HIS BLOOD WASN'T
43:57ENOUGH. HE SAID, "I'M WILLING TO GIVE MY
44:01BLOOD BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO BE MORE
44:03VALUABLE. What I'm going to get is worth
44:05more than the blood I'm going to sh I
44:07don't even know how to wrap my brain
44:09around being more valuable than the
44:10blood." [laughter] But that's what the
44:12Bible's teaching us. [gasps] Receive his
44:15righteousness. Let tonight be one of the
44:17first times you seek his righteousness.
44:19You reach for his righteousness. The
44:21prophet Hosea said, "Sow to yourselves
44:23in righteousness and reap in mercy.
44:27BREAK UP THE FOW GROUND, THE HARD GROUND
44:29OF YOUR HEART. IT'S TIME TO SEEK THE
44:32LORD until he come and re righteousness
44:35upon you." That's Hosea 10:12. Come on,
44:38seek his righteousness. BREAK UP THE
44:40HARDNESS OF YOUR HEART. GET BEYOND YOUR
44:43MIND. Get beyond your emotions. Let the
44:45Lord do something. Receive ye the Holy
44:48Ghost. be filled with the Holy Spirit of
44:51the almighty God. I release to you the
44:54gift of righteousness tonight. It comes
44:56directly from the Lord Jesus Christ to
44:59you. [music] His character, his nature,
45:02you can grow in grace. You can grow in
45:04righteousness in the name of Jesus. SO
45:07YOU ARE SO VALUABLE.
45:10WOO! YOU make Calvary worth it when you
45:12live for God. You make Calvary worth it.
45:15YOU MAKE CALVARY WORTH IT WHEN you
45:18worship him. You make Calvary worth it
45:20when you pray. YOU MAKE CALVARY WORTH IT
45:23WHEN YOU FAST. YOU MAKE CALVARY WORTH
45:25IT.
45:30I want you just let your tongue go and
45:32pray in the spirit. Your words, YOUR
45:35WORDS, YOUR YOU GO AHEAD AND GIVE IT
45:37SOME VOLUME, BUT LET THE LORD SPEAK THE
45:39WORDS. [music] DON'T TRY TO
45:40INTELLECTUALLY CONTROL what you say.
45:43>> [snorts]
45:43>> JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND GIVE IT VOLUME
45:45AND LET IT come out. Let the Lord do the
45:47work. [music] That's how righteousness
45:50works. You participate, but the Lord
45:52leads. Receive ye his spirit. I loose
45:55your tongue that you CAN PRAY IN THE
45:58HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD. I release the gift
46:01of righteousness. I release the
46:03overwhelming power of his grace.
46:07You can be delivered from any sin. You
46:09can be delivered of any attitude. You
46:12can be delivered of anything in your
46:14life. It makes no difference what it is.
46:17[music]
46:22>> Pray. Pray. Seek him. Reach for him.
46:25[music] From [singing] birth
46:28to glory.
46:32[singing]
46:33>> [music]
46:33>> I only
46:38>> let him hear your prayer
46:40>> to be like. [music and singing]
46:43>> Sing it, brother. It's beautiful. It's
46:45beautiful. It's beautiful.
46:48[music]
46:48>> To be like [singing]
46:51Jesus.
46:53>> You're not my disciple. YOU'RE NOT
46:55PASTOR HATAMO'S DISCIPLE. YOU'RE THE
46:57DISCIPLE of [music] Jesus. My Jesus
47:01[singing]
47:03on earth
47:05>> on earth I long [singing]
47:08[music]
47:10to be like
47:13>> like him
47:17[music]
47:18all [singing] through
47:20life.
47:22>> Do you really long desire to be like
47:24Jesus?
47:27>> Come on. This is a lifelong journey.
47:29[singing]
47:31>> One day we're going to receive a crown
47:33of righteousness.
47:35[singing and music]
47:37>> I only ask
47:40>> to be.
47:42>> That's what [music] we're praying.
47:43That's why we're fasting. [singing]
47:45>> Lord, I want to get my humanity and
47:47flesh stubbornness out of the way.
47:50>> Like Jesus. [music and singing]
47:52>> To be like Jesus.
47:56to me. [singing]
47:57>> To me,
47:58>> like Jesus, [music]
47:59>> like Jesus,
48:03mother [singing]
48:04>> on earth, [screaming]
48:06I long
48:10[music] to be [singing] like him.
48:14>> While you're feeling the hunger [music]
48:15pains on the fast, then every hunger
48:19pain say that's my hunger for
48:20righteousness.
48:23>> [singing]
48:24>> Blessed are they which do hunger.
48:28>> I want to live hungry.
48:32Woo.
48:34[music]
48:35[singing]
48:37>> Let the hunger you're feeling in your
48:40heart and mind be a hunger for his
48:42character, his nature. [singing]
48:45He's better than vegetables. He's better
48:47than steaks. He's better than seafood.
48:49He's better than anything
48:50>> like Jesus. [singing]
48:54>> Only Jesus can satisfy the soul
48:58>> like [music] Jesus [singing]
48:59>> to be like Jesus
49:02>> on earth. On earth
49:04>> I long
49:06[music and singing]
49:11[music]
49:12be like [singing] him.
49:14>> Walk in the spirit. You will not fulfill
49:16the lust of the flesh.
49:22There is powerful transformation in this
49:24house.
49:37>> [singing]
49:38[music]
49:42>> Speaking with tongues is just the first
49:45early attempt to say, "I'm going to
49:48participate, but the Lord's going to
49:49form the words."
49:52>> Here's my voice. Here's my volume, BUT
49:54[music] MY BRAIN WILL NOT CONTROL the
49:56syllables.
50:05>> [music]
50:12[singing]
50:12>> be like, [music]
50:19[music]
50:22[singing]
50:23"The Lord sees your tender heart. The
50:25Lord sees your sincerity.
50:29>> [music and singing]
50:29>> Glory.
50:34I [singing and music]
50:35>> Oh Lord, I can do all things through
50:38Christ. I can't do it on my own. I
50:41couldn't save myself. I can't keep
50:42myself saved. I can't be holy. I can't
50:45be righteous unless you help me.
50:47>> But you will
50:50to [singing and music] be
50:52like,
50:52>> lead me not into temptation. [singing]
50:55Deliver me from evil. [music]
51:00>> Oh, is anybody so hungry they'll just
51:02cry out like blind BARAMEUS ON THE
51:05HILLSIDE? SO, WE have to quiet you down,
51:07but he wouldn't be quieted
51:12to be [singing]
51:15[music] like him. I wonder if you would
51:17let Christ be formed in you, shaped in
51:20you, molded in you.
51:23[music and singing]
51:25>> I want to make Calvary worth it. Calvary
51:27worth it. From earth
51:30to gloryy. [singing]
51:35I only [singing and music]
51:38ask
51:43to be
51:45like him.
51:48[singing and music]
51:53Amen.
51:56[music]
52:07[music]
52:21There.
52:36I want you
52:45to
52:49hallelujah.
53:12You're awesome.
53:31He wants me
53:34to live [music]
53:37or to give
53:40until [singing and music] there's just
53:43no more
53:46to give.
53:48[music] I of want to love [singing]
53:52love
53:54[music]
53:55just [singing]
53:57>> Hallelujah.
53:59>> I want to live the way he wants me to
54:01live. [singing]
54:02>> I [music] want to live the way he wants
54:04me to live. That's the goal. That's the
54:06goal. It's a lifelong pursuit. It's a
54:10lifelong journey. [music]
54:12I want to live [singing]
54:15the way
54:18you [music and singing] want me
54:21to live. Oh God, I want to give [music]
54:27until
54:29there's just no more [singing and music]
54:32to give. I want to love to love
54:36[singing]
54:38to love love till there's just no
54:43[singing]
54:44more love. [music]
54:46>> And I could never
54:51[singing] love
54:53the [music] Lord. Aren't
54:55>> you glad he loves you? Aren't you glad
54:57he doesn't give up on us? AREN'T YOU
54:59GLAD FOR HIS MERCY, his grace? Aren't
55:02you glad for his longsuffering to us
55:04where yes, [music]
55:05[singing]
55:06>> HE DOESN'T GIVE UP. HE'S NOT GIVING UP
55:10to [music and singing] give.
55:11>> OH, HALLELUJAH.
55:13>> Until there's just no more.
55:18[singing and music]
55:19>> Hallelujah.
55:21>> I want to love
55:26[singing] you.
55:28There's just no [music]
55:30more love.
55:33I could [singing] never
55:36never out [music]
55:37love
55:39the Lord. [singing]
55:42Hallelujah. [music]
55:44I feel to do something.
55:47I feel
55:50there's a lot of battle that goes on in
55:52our mind.
55:54There's a lot of battles that go on our
55:56mind. And the key to all that brother
56:00Klein has been preaching is that we
56:03would have the mind of Christ.
56:06>> So I want you to put your hand on your
56:08forehead and I want you to pray every
56:11one of us. God, we need the mind of
56:14Christ.
56:16We need the mind of the spirit.
56:20We God have to have godly thinking,
56:23godly thoughts. I pray the mind of
56:27Christ. I pray God that you give us the
56:30mind of Christ. The mind of Christ. Help
56:34me to think the right way. HELP ME TO
56:37PROCESS THINGS THE RIGHT WAY. I PRAY IN
56:39the name of Jesus.
56:42IN THE name of Jesus. IN THE NAME OF
56:46JESUS. I RECEIVE YOUR MIND. I RECEIVE
56:49your mind.
56:52I WANT TO THINK THE HEAVENLY THOUGHTS,
56:54THE HEAVENLY WAYS, NOT MY WAYS, NOT MY
56:59THOUGHTS, [screaming] BUT YOUR THOUGHTS.
57:02HALLELUJAH.
57:04HALLELUJAH.
57:06THE MIND OF CHRIST, THE MIND OF THE
57:09spirit in Jesus name. In Jesus name. In
57:15Jesus name. IN JESUS NAME.
57:20>> In Jesus name.
57:26>> Hallelujah.
57:30>> Hallelujah.
57:32>> Hallelujah.
57:34>> Hallelujah.
57:36Hallelujah.
57:42>> Hallelujah.
57:46By and large, many of us have the
57:48revelation of giving. And if you don't
57:51have the revelation of giving, it's
57:52certainly something wonderful [music] to
57:53study out. When something leaves your
57:56hand, something leaves God's hand.
57:57There's a revelation of sewing and
57:59reaping. And we apply it often time to
58:01finances, but it works in every area of
58:03life. So kindness, reap kindness. Sow
58:05goodness, reap goodness. Seow mercy,
58:07reap mercy. It's everywhere. There's a
58:09powerful revelation in giving. And I
58:11don't again I don't want to diminish
58:13that because that's very powerful. But
58:15there is an equal revelation and that's
58:18the revelation of receiving. It's not
58:21just giving, it's also receiving. And
58:24sometimes I think we give easier than we
58:28receive. And so my message to you about
58:31righteousness is that you incorporate it
58:34into your prayer. Seek it. Reach for it.
58:36Righteousness, peace, joy in the Holy
58:39Ghost.
58:40Receive the spirit. Speak with tongues.
58:44The Lord controls the tongue. Then he
58:46can control the heart. Receive his
58:49spirit. Then in his spirit is
58:50righteousness. From righteousness comes
58:52[music] peace. From peace comes joy. The
58:54joy of the Lord is your strength. It's
58:57the whole message of a believer.
59:00Seek his righteousness, but add to your
59:02vocabulary of your prayer. And I want us
59:05to start praying this together. Follow
59:06my lead. Lord, I receive your
59:08righteousness. I receive your holiness.
59:11I receive your spirit. I receive your
59:14word. I receive the mind of Christ. I
59:18receive all your I don't resist you. I'm
59:20not opposing you. I'm receiving
59:23everything you have. I receive your Holy
59:25Spirit. I receive your holiness inside
59:27of me. I receive your love. I will let
59:30you love me. I will let you save me. I
59:33will let you keep me. I will not fight
59:36you, Lord. I receive your righteousness.
59:38I receive your grace. I receive your
59:41grace. I receive your goodness. I
59:44receive your mercy. I receive your
59:46forgiveness. Some of you need to let the
59:48Lord forgive you. Receive his
59:51forgiveness. Receive his blood. Receive
59:54his pardon. Receive his message. Receive
59:57his salvation. Receive his ministry.
60:00Receive his apostles. Receive his
60:02prophets. Receive his evangelists.
60:05Receive his pastors. Receive his
60:06teachers. Receive from the Lord. I
60:10receive it, Lord. I receive your
60:12goodness, your mercy, your grace, your
60:13love.
60:19Hallelujah. Now, thank him. Would you
60:21just thank him? Everybody raise your
60:24hands. Raise your hands. Thank him.
60:26Thank him for what he's doing in us and
60:29through us. Thank him for working in us.
60:32Thank him. Thank him, JESUS. OH, THANK
60:35YOU, JESUS. THANK YOU JESUS. THANK YOU
60:39JESUS.
60:40Thank you Jesus. THANK YOU JESUS. THANK
60:45you Jesus.
60:48Thank you Jesus.
60:51Oh
60:52God. Oh God. Hallelujah.
60:57Hallelujah.
61:01just a closer
61:04walk with me again.
61:08>> Grant
61:10it. Jesus
61:12is my plea [music]
61:17and daily
61:20walking
61:21close to me.
61:25Let [singing] it be,
61:28dear [music] Lord. Let it be.
61:30>> Can you lift your hands and just sing it
61:32as a prayer? Oh, just [music]
61:36>> a closer
61:38walk with thee.
61:42Oh grant
61:44[music]
61:45>> in Jesus [singing]
61:46is my plea.
61:49>> Daily walking. Daily
61:53walking. close [music] to thee. Oh yes,
61:58let it be. [singing and music]
62:01Dear Lord, let it be.
62:05[singing]
