2:44places. Thank you so much Minister Kelly for leading us in that worship
2:49today and it started with our praise singers today. Thank you so much
2:55everybody. Hallelujah for how we've just joined together in the worship of the
3:01Lord. I want to speak to us today from Psalm chapter 33. Psalm
3:06chapter 33. I want to speak to us on the subject as we
3:12continue our Summer in the Psalms series. Summer in the Psalms 5.0, the fifth year.
3:18Can you imagine that? I want to speak to us on this subject today. God
3:24is worthy to be praised. God is worthy to be praised. From Psalm 33, if
3:30you could just find it and hold it open and we'll be reading the verses
3:36as we're working through the psalm. A 2015 study
3:41from Eastern University compared the use of God's
3:46name in pre-modern versus contemporary worship songs. The
3:52study found that pre-modern worship songs, those that
3:58we call the old hymn and spiritual songs
4:03of the church, they referred to God with
4:09his names or his titles about 52%
4:15of the time. While only 25%
4:20of contemporary songs actually refer to
4:26God by name or title. Most
4:32of these songs, 74% of the
4:37contemporary songs, they use abstract, generalized
4:43pronouns such as "you" because these
4:49songs The agenda in them is to
4:54be crossover so that they can be applied in
5:00a world where ecumenical faith is on the rise.
5:06But I'm so glad for songs that say Jesus,
5:11Jesus, precious Jesus, hallelujah. The study also found that
5:17pre-modern songs used group pronouns such as we or
5:23us. at a rate of 50% of the time,
5:29the old songs. And that highlights for us that
5:34these songs emphasized the collective participation in worship. Everybody
5:40say collective. Everybody say participation. Because these songs were
5:46intended for the entire congregation to sing together.
5:51Brothers and sisters, what is happening now is many
5:57of the contemporary songs, they utilize first person pronouns
6:03such as I or me at a rate of
6:0984%. So there is this shift from collective worship
6:15that was God-centered to a personalized worship. view
6:21of worship that has become increasingly person-centered. The study
6:27reveals a deeper truth that modern worship is increasingly
6:33self-centered rather than God-centered. It suggests to us that
6:39contemporary churchgoers are more consumeristic. Church and God is
6:45a good to be consumed rather than to
6:50be consumed by God as a living sacrifice.
6:56These songs are more focused because people are
7:01becoming increasingly more focused on individual needs, personal
7:07desires and that selfishness has infiltrated our "worship
7:12music" as we seek to make worship "personal".
7:19We feel that we must be able to relate God's character
7:25to every one of our personal experiences. Yet brothers and sisters,
7:31though there is this personal dimension to worship, we must understand
7:37this that the truth about who God is cannot merely be
7:43garnered just from your own experiences. hence brothers
7:49and sisters in the scriptures we have a collection of varied stories of
7:55encounters and experiences that reveal god we were talking in our bible study
8:01on wednesday night that paul said to the ephesian brethren and to us
8:07by extension that we can only perceive and discern the fullness the full
8:13dimensions of god the depth the height, the breadth, and the length
8:18of the love of God as we do so in concert with
8:24each other. Your experiences alone cannot enrich, cannot fully enrich your theology
8:30of who God really is. It's when you come together and all
8:35of us lift our voices out of our varied experiences and circumstances
8:41that we see on display a fuller picture of the revelation of
8:47God. Can somebody say amen to that? That is why brothers
8:52and sisters we need worship songs with deep theology. We need
8:58worship songs that invite all of us in, all of us
9:04who have seen the various sides of the character of God
9:09to invite all of us in to collectively glorify God together.
9:15Can I channel pastor Sammy Stewart because I agree with him
9:21wholeheartedly that we cannot outsource our worship to anybody else. The
9:27praise singers are there to facilitate our worshiping together. Everybody shout
9:33together. they are not there to replace our voices our songs our testimonies
9:38we need to hear your voice we need to hear your song because
9:44when you sing your song of the love of God you are painting
9:50in our worship service a fuller picture of what God's love looks like
9:55hallelujah hallelujah for this reason of expanding our worship of
10:01God just beyond personal experiences, the compiler of the Psalms, who
10:07many consider to be Ezra, he ensured that in the compilation,
10:13the final assembling of the Psalms of Israel, that he punctuated
10:19the book with Psalms like chapter 1, chapter 8, chapter 14,
10:24chapter 15. Chapter 19, 29 and now 33 among others that
10:30we will look on as we're going through the Psalms because these
10:36Psalms invite us to step back from our personal experiences and to
10:42simply reflect on God for who God is. These Psalms remind
10:48us that true worship of God cannot be mired in
10:54our human, our personal quest for palliation, for comfort, for
11:00our personal grievances, but rather it is rooted in deep
11:05adoration of God, his perfections, his grace and his graciousness regardless of
11:11what we have perceived him to do or how we are feeling
11:17in a particular moment of time. if we rely on personal experience
11:23alone though those are necessary and there are Psalms in which David
11:29praises God for what God has done to him. But these Psalms remind us
11:35that when the personal experiences may not be there or we may not have
11:40perceived God to have acted the way we think God should act in our
11:46lives, that God is still worthy of praise just because of who God is.
11:52so even on a day that we perceive to be a bad day we can
11:58still worship god because we serve a good god who is good even on a
12:03day that we think is bad it broadens our worship psalm 33 brothers and sisters
12:09if you notice though it's perceived to have been written by david there is there
12:15is no historical context last sunday i could go back to the experience of personal
12:21experience of david with Bathsheba and with Uriah but this Psalm lacks
12:27that context because it is shifting from just a personal view
12:32of God to something that is more universal. It is inviting
12:38all of us to worship God for though our experiences differ
12:44the God that we serve is the same. though we have come from
12:50different places and therefore we have had different needs and therefore we have experienced God
12:55in different ways but yet the common thread that ties us together whether you drove
13:00here you walked here you took a bus here you came from East Miramar or
13:04or West Miramar or you came from Hollywood or you are from the gardens wherever
13:09it is that you have come from to get here the common thread that joins
13:14our hearts together is that there is one God who is a good God. Somebody
13:20shout he is a good God. He is a good God.
13:26I love Psalm 33. I love its progression from this loud
13:31joyful summons calling us to worship the Lord. The Psalm opens
13:37with an enthusiastic explosive call to worship. Here verses 1 to
13:433. It says rejoice in the Lord. O you righteous, for
13:48praise from the upright is beautiful. Somebody shout, it is beautiful.
13:54it says praise the Lord with the harp make melody to him with an instrument
13:59of ten strings sing to him a new song and play skillfully with a shout
14:05of joy it is saying to us it is saying to the righteous to all
14:10those who regardless of where you came from what you came out of what you
14:15got here in he is saying if you are righteous if you have been justified
14:21by God and if you are upright if you have been sanctified by God if
14:26it is God who out of whatever you came from who saved you and is
14:32keeping you saved and is keeping you sane he is calling you to worship God
14:38yeah yeah it is saying here that if you are righteous if God justified you
14:43and if you are upright if God is sanctifying you if God is daily imputing
14:48his character to you he is saying you have a reason and the right to
14:53praise God this is not promise you a house a car a boo a bay
14:58a cash crib or clothes no but what it is saying to you is if
15:02God has saved you and if God is sanctifying you you have a right and
15:07the reason to praise God is there anybody in the house that God has saved
15:12is there anybody in the house that God is sanctifying is there anybody in the
15:17house that God is keeping you have a right and the reason whatever is not
15:22answered on your prayer list right now in this place you have as much a
15:27reason as I do to lift up holy hands and to give praise to the
15:33great God of the heaven Yahweh you deserve my praise and my glory because you
15:39are perfect in all your ways hallelujah thank you Lord look at the beauty of
15:45this look look at the multi-sensory expression of joy that this calls for when
15:51the people of God comes together it incorporates the shouts of the people it
15:56says Renan or rejoice everybody collectively rejoice it calls for the use of our
16:02hands yada praise God lift those hands up and if those hands are attached
16:08to an instrument use those instruments whether it's a harp or a lyre or a
16:13tambourine or drumsticks or a keyboard or a microphone whatever it is that your hands
16:18are attached to but when we come in the house it is saying to us
16:24that our voices are to be lifted and shouting to God our hands ought to
16:29be engaged in clapping our hands to God or lifting our hands in worship of
16:34God and then we ought to sing a song that reflects the glory of God
16:39and then it says that this kind of worship is beautiful in the sight of
16:44God brothers and sisters I want to tell us let us never lose our shout
16:49let us never lose the lifting of our hands the clapping of our hands the
16:54raising of our voice to sing why because God said this kind of worship is
16:59beautiful in my sight can anybody just throw your hands up right now and
17:04just begin to thank God for something anybody anybody in the house just just lift
17:09your hand in the sanctuary and and begin to thank God for for who he
17:13is thank God just just begin to just begin to reflect on who God is
17:18the greatness of the character of God and just begin to lift those hands or
17:22or to clap those hands together and just to give a praise for who God
17:27is in our lives we are not to get so classy that we can shout
17:33in the house of God we are not to have so many degrees or become
17:39so city in our jobs and in our professions that we can shout and give
17:44glory and honor to God for I know who God is
17:52No matter how great I become, I am just a speck on the radar of
17:58who God is. Am I talking to anybody? Whatever your job title is, from the
18:04president of the country down to the least, the most recently employed sanitation engineer, here
18:10is the deal. God is greater than all of that. oh God thank
18:16you. I feel the Holy Ghost in here. he's a great God no matter how
18:20many doctorate degrees you have he's still greater than all of that. am I talking
18:25to anybody no matter how past your career is you may have gone to the
18:30corner office but God is greater than all of that. he deserves my worship. I
18:34will act a fool for the God that I serve i'll shout and cut
18:40up for the god that i serve for he is worthy of my
18:46worship hallelujah hallelujah i i saw the president of this country shouting in
18:52his little box when the united states won a game at the recently
18:58concluded world cup if he can shout over footballers who don't sustain his
19:04life who can keep him my god am i to come in church
19:10and because I am now recently Reverend Dr. Omar Williams and I say that unapologetically
19:15because I give God glory for what he has given me. Am I talking to
19:20anybody here? Because I now have a little title, I need to come in here
19:25and just oh I can't clap my hands. The devil is a liar. I will
19:29open up my mouth and I'll give God glory. I'll cut up. I'll dance in
19:34the presence of the Lord for he is greater. than all of my accomplishments
19:40he's worthy to be praised somebody come on just nudge your neighbor right
19:46quickly gently as a neighbor he's worthy come on come on tell him
19:52say neighbor he is worthy to be praised he is worth your worship
19:58he is worth your hallelujah he is worth your sweating he is worthy
20:04to be praised hallelujah Hallelujah. He's worthy to be praised. He invites
20:10us into worship. Then he gives us the reason why we ought to worship
20:16God. And it's a reason that transcends just our little puny existence and our
20:22little tiny experiences. Though it involves that, but it transcends that. He's bigger.
20:27than all of that he starts he says we god is worthy to be praised
20:33because of his creative character that is manifested in his word he god's creative character
20:39that is manifested in his word he he starts by by looking at the creator's
20:45personality, his profile. In verses four to five he says, for the word of the
20:51Lord is right and all his work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and
20:56justice and the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Brothers and sisters,
21:01he is saying to us here that God created the world he he talks about
21:06the the moral character of god he is right he is true he is faithful
21:12he loves justice he's the one to whom we can always look to make things
21:17right and the earth is full of his goodness this word goodness here means his
21:23his has said the word the earth is full of the steadfast love the unfailing
21:28mercy of God no matter how bad things get in our world here is what
21:33the psalmist is saying that the world is still full of the goodness of God
21:38it is bad but you're sitting beside somebody who reflects the goodness of God I
21:43might talk to anybody there are bad people in our world but you're sitting beside
21:47somebody who reflects the goodness of God there are bad people in our world but
21:52at the same time I know that I am one of those who have I
21:57have been touched by the goodness of God and every day I live my life
22:02trying to make this world fuller of the goodness of God it's bad grammar but
22:07it's good theology am I talking to anybody here there is still goodness in the
22:12world because God's presence is still in the world I feel like preaching in this
22:17place. No matter how you feel about the state government, the local government, the federal
22:22government or what's going on in the world at large around us. Here is the
22:27deal. The world is still full of the goodness of God. Is there anybody who
22:32just this past week you can testify that you experienced the goodness of God? Anybody?
22:36Can anybody testify? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can I give you one example? He woke me
22:41up this morning. I feel the Holy Ghost in this place.
22:47I may not agree with everything or understand everything, but he woke me up this
22:52morning. He started me on my way. He kept me in my right mind. He
22:57brought me through another week. The world is full of the goodness of God. Hallelujah.
23:02it is full of the goodness of God because of the Creator's personality that is
23:06still in this world. He's worthy to be praised. God showed us the creative process.
23:11verse 6 and 7 by the word of the Lord the heavens were made and
23:15all the hosts by them the breath of his mouth he gathers the waters of
23:19the sea together as a heap he lays of the deep in storehouse all this
23:24is trying to tell us is that God created everything by his word and not
23:28only has God created by his word but Hebrews 1 verse 3 reminds us that
23:33God is still sustaining he's still upholding all things by the word of his power
23:38here is the deal brothers and sisters that we cannot get away from it is
23:43this that God is so good every time you look up at at the night
23:47sky and asteroids have not slammed into the earth as scientists are projecting and fascinating
23:52themselves with. Here is the deal. God is still holding the world up. Am I
23:57talking to anybody here? He makes the rain to fall on the just and upon
24:02the unjust. He raises the sun on the evil and on the good. god is
24:07still in control of this world this word it carries the imagery that god not
24:12only creates the world but he is sustaining the world he is holding the world
24:16up in his hand he he he gathers the water in a heap he says
24:21to the water as flat as florida is you will not flood out florida you
24:26are going to stay in the oceans am i talking to anybody you're going to
24:31stay in the sea and he says when the waters get too much God lifts
24:36some of the water up and puts them in storehouses what are those storehouses he
24:41puts them in clouds am I talking to anybody and he keeps them up there
24:46because God is saying that my my people are worthy of my protection I am
24:51a God that is great enough not only to create but to sustain I hold
24:56everything up brothers and sisters that tells me that when I look out there when
25:01I stand on the beach for those of us who will visit the beach this
25:05week when you stand on on the beach lady Tania for your exercise routine and
25:09you realize that the water cannot come on the land randomly and drown you that's
25:15a reason to lift your hand and thank God for his goodness when I look
25:20at the clouds it is God ensuring that some water that would overwhelm and flood
25:25the earth is kept in storehouses ready to come down when it gets dry and
25:30parched he is worthy to be praised he is worthy to be praised brothers
25:36and sisters it begs the bigger question here if god can uphold the entire universe
25:41what can god hold in his hand i feel the holy ghost in here if
25:47he can hold the clouds and as heavy as they are and the the planetary
25:52bodies and the stars and the constellations can't he hold the burdens that you are
25:57struggling with Can't he hold the load you are trying to bear? That is
26:03why Jesus calls, come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden
26:09and I will give you rest. He can manage all the things that you
26:15deal with. Here's the deal. You can see the power and the glory and
26:21the grandeur. the grandeur of God without seeing God's ability to take care of you.
26:25am I talking to anybody? lean in for a second. that's why the Psalter is
26:30saying step back from looking at your little world, your little troubles, your tiny as
26:35great as they are in the eyes of God they are tiny because although he
26:40has millions of stars, souls to see about and although the Sun the moon and
26:45the stars are in his care here is a deal he still has the time
26:50to look at you and what you're dealing with he is great and that ought
26:55to enable us to put our trust in the Lord hallelujah so what is what
27:00is the posture of the creatures verses 8 to 9 tells us the creatures posture
27:05says let all the earth fear the Lord let all the inhabitants of the world
27:11stand in awe of him for he spoke and it was done he commanded and
27:16it stood fast to speak and it is done to command and it stand fast
27:21it reiterates that God has unmatched power it is his word that carries weight around
27:26here am I talking to anybody and so because of God's unmatched power and his
27:31rule in the earth here is the deal he is saying all the people of
27:36the world must fear God stand awe of God. Grant Lewton a Jewish Messianic scholar,
27:42he defined the fear of God as this quote, "awareness of God" saying people who
27:47fear God are people who are aware of him at all times and when you
27:53are aware of him, of his presence, you behave yourself in a different way. Am
27:59I talking to anybody? Those who fear God, who reverence God, who stand in awe
28:05of God. You manage yourself differently. I might talk to anybody here. You see,
28:11when you look at the mountains you face in your life, you might be
28:17tempted to act out in panic and apprehension. But but when you remember that God
28:23is up there and you are always in his presence it brings about something different
28:27in you because you are talking about a God that is able to move mountains
28:32am I talking to anybody when when you look at your Red Seas that you
28:36can't cross and then you remember God and that he's able to make a way
28:41in the waters you look at your circle am I talking to anybody here you
28:46look at your circumstances differently because you're looking at God Praise God. He is worthy
28:51to be praised for his character and his word. Number two, he is worthy to
28:57be praised for his complete control of the world. Verses 10 to 7 point out
29:02to us that God is in full control. He is sovereign. over all of the
29:08powers of the world. verses 10 to 12 points out God's authority over the nation.
29:13the nation the Lord brings the counsel of the nations and nothing he makes the
29:18plans of the peoples of no effect the counsel of the Lord stands forever the
29:22plans of his heart to all generations blessed is the nation whose God is the
29:27Lord the people he has chosen for his own inheritance. I like this. the Psalms
29:32in these verses juxtaposes the the plans and the counsel of nations states governments with
29:37the plans and the council of god and he says that all the
29:43plans and the council of god will really prevail he is saying that
29:49there is no national government no state government no municipal government that can
29:55do anything that goes against the plan of god am i talking to
30:01anybody in this place I am happy when I read this because when I
30:06think of all of the current events when I when I think about uh people
30:12the frustration I hear from people the frustration with government the frustration with politicians when
30:17whether it's local or National when when I think of the fears in this world
30:22the fears of what Nations like North Korea can do the fears of a Russia
30:27Iran and China maybe posturing to do to our world by nuclear power when i
30:33think of all of that and then i go back and read verses 10 and
30:3811 again that says god frustrates the plans and the councils of the nations because
30:43at the end of the of the day only the counsel of God will set
30:47can I give us some history here lean in here I want you to hang
30:50your politics aside for a second and let me let me talk to you for
30:54a second when when let me let me let me go back to to just
30:58recent history when when I was in New York and I was serving there at
31:02the end of President Obama's term and and when the the gay rights marriage was
31:06passed we were shuffling and buckling to adjust our bylaws wondering what in the world
31:10is this gonna do to our churches but here's the deal his term ended and
31:14the Church of God is still standing yeah yeah yeah when president trump came into
31:19power and my god my church in new york we had a lot of immigrants
31:24and with all of the things that were going on in the immigration policies we
31:28were wondering what in the world is going to happen but can i tell you
31:33his term ended and the church is still standing am i talking to anybody lean
31:37in when biden and harris came into power and all of the the sexual perversion
31:42that was let loose in our country we are wondering what in the world is
31:46going to happen to our church but the church is still standing and now trump
31:50is here again and there's a lot of foolishness with some of the policies about
31:55immigration but here's the deal the church is still gonna stand i feel like preaching
31:59in here i said good god will bring the powers of the nations to not
32:04because at the end of the day only the council of god will stand I
32:09told her to hang your politics on the willows here. I am an independent. I
32:13vote for whoever I want to. and I put myself in a position where I
32:18can call out the foolishness and the injustice that happens whether on the right or
32:22on the left. Am I talking to anybody in this place? I feel like preaching
32:26in here. I said the council of God is gonna stand no matter who is
32:31in the White House, no matter who is in Tallahassee. Here is the deal. The
32:35plan and the council of God is gonna stand. Church of the living God, while
32:40we live in the real world, don't you dear begin to get too worried or
32:45apprehensive or afraid about what people can do because the Bible says to tell you
32:50that only the counsel of God and I hear God saying I know the thoughts
32:55and the plans that I have towards you said the Lord I thought to give
33:01you hope and the future somebody lift your hand up in the house and give
33:06the Lord a praise that no matter what men things or men does they can't
33:12stop the plan that God has for the people of God somebody shout glory
33:17in this place i feel like preaching in this place god is looking out for
33:22his people verses 13 to 15 god has his eye on everybody i can't read
33:27all of this here god is looking at everybody he's watching over everyone this word
33:32here the the that the writer uses several words for the attention that God pays
33:37in the world and and three of them are used between verses 13 and 14
33:42he says God looks that is to say God looks down from heaven and the
33:47idea here in the word nabat is that God is looking down but it's not
33:52a passive look as he looks over everyone he is looking and his very gaze
33:57is sending out out a message of his awareness he is appealing to the conscience
34:02of every human in the world saved or unsaved he is he's not bad he
34:07is he is he's sending for the light of his presence and his knowledge into
34:12all the world before everyone and then it says God sees each person this word
34:17see it means that God is discerning what is there so in other words he
34:22is sending out awareness of himself he is he is revealing his righteousness in our
34:27consciences and then he looks to see who is grabbing hold of his righteousness am
34:32i talking to anybody he's looking down from heaven to the sons of men to
34:36see if there's any that understand if there's any who seeks after him then god
34:41gazes he he gazes verse 14 he he has a laser focus can you imagine
34:46that this word gaze is actually a word to be crazy in the hebrew
34:52In the Hebrew, it's actually a word, shagak, which literally means to be crazy. It's
34:58like a catatonic person that just stares at one thing for the whole time and
35:04ignores everything else. Brothers and sisters, what he's saying is God has such a care
35:10for every human that he's looking intently at every one of us individually. At the
35:15same time and nobody feels neglected. What a God we serve. What a care for
35:21God. Lean in for a second. Whether you're saved or unsaved in this house, God's
35:27eyes are on you. His eyes are on you. Then he says to us,
35:33he's trying to change our heart. Verses 6 to 17. So we can understand the
35:37illusion of earthly securities. He says the king is not saved by a mighty army.
35:42A mighty man is not delivered by his strength. And a horse is vain hope
35:47for safety. None of them can deliver by any strength that they have. He is
35:52saying here, he's looking at you and he is saying to people, don't put your
35:57trust in things. don't put your trust in armies don't put your trust in your
36:03job don't put your trust in your wealth in your status in your house in
36:08your husband in your wife why not not that you don't trust them in the
36:12human relation but don't trust them so much so that you can't see God don't
36:17let them block your view of God because none else can save you but God
36:22that is why my song is I trust in God hallelujah I know that he
36:27cares for me whether on mountain bleak or on the stormy sea. Though billows roll,
36:33he keeps my soul. What? My heavenly father is watching over me. Somebody holler that
36:39in here today. Say, I trust in God. Come on. No matter what's going on,
36:45I trust in God because I know he cares for me. hallelujah
36:50let me wrap this up here I got a few minutes left so he talks
36:56about God's character revealed in his word he talks secondly he talks about God's complete
37:02control of the world but finally he talks he says we ought to praise God
37:08he's worthy of our praise because of his constant care for his worshipers hallelujah he
37:14zooms out from creation He zooms out from God's might over
37:20nations and he now puts the spotlight on God's care
37:25for his worshipers. God's constant care for his worshipers. Here
37:31verse 18. the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him
37:37on those who hope in his mercy now this word is a fourth term for
37:43God's gaze but this term is different the word "ayin" it doesn't mean that God
37:48is just wholly surveilling us but this means that God has his eye on us
37:54I feel like preaching in this place anybody ever raise a little child anybody ever
38:00raise a child and and and your eyes are always on them anybody any parent
38:05in here especially when they become toddlers and they start running around the whole place
38:09and you let them lose you because they've got a free will and you want
38:13them to exercise that but everywhere they go you've got your eye on them you
38:17are you're in a conversation but you're watching you are you are listening to that

38:46he is saying that the eye of the Lord that they are upon you and

39:00nudge on the side and say neighbor. God is watching you even in the times
39:05when you thought you were taking the leap alone. When you thought you were jumping
39:10all by yourself. Even though though God had his eye on sister Marie and he
39:14was talking to her in her time of prayer but he saw you lady Katie
39:19and I'm not talking to anybody here he saw you and he said I know
39:23she's feeling down and out right now but I've got my eye on her and
39:28before she falls I'll be there to catch her I feel like preaching in this
39:33place I said I've got my eye on you elder McCormick you oughta nudge your
39:38neighbor right now say neighbor God has his eye on you. Before you can fall,
39:43he'll catch you. Before you can fail, he'll hold you. Before you can die, he'll

40:29is on the sparrow and I heard him saying you are greater than the
40:35sparrow you are greater than the lily of the field and if my eye is
40:40on the sparrow and now one of them fall from the heavens how much more
40:46does your heavenly father care about you somebody shout he cares somebody shout
40:52he cares he cares about the burdens you bear he cares he is a
40:58big God but he cares about you take your eyes off your problems and
41:04put your eyes on the Lord stop telling yourself how big your problems are
41:10and remind yourself how great your God is come on do it right now
41:16in the house remind yourself how great your God is. He is the ruler
41:21of the universe. He is the sovereign over the nations. But yet, he watches over
41:27me while he holds Jupiter in his hand. He holds me in the palm of
41:33his hand why should i doubt why should i fear i feel the holy
41:39ghost in here i feel the holy ghost why should i doubt the god
41:45whose hands holds the universe why should i question his ability i feel god
41:51in this place for after all he is and all he has
41:57done I am confident I am comforted and confident that if
42:02God's eyes are on me he will keep me I
42:08feel the Holy Ghost in here. Give your neighbor a high five and say, "Neighbor,
42:14you are under God's constant care." Come on, tell somebody else. You're under God's constant
42:20care. He's constantly shepherding you. He's constantly guiding you with his eye. And then he
42:26gives you comprehensive salvation. In verse 19, he says that he delivers your soul from
42:32the death and he keeps you alive in the famine. he's saying to the church
42:37of the living god hear this he says he delivers your soul from death that
42:42is the eternal that's the long view because you know if you die he will
42:47resurrect you am i talking to anybody here if you die he'll resurrect you on
42:51the last day for he is the resurrection and the life but he's saying you
42:56don't got to go all that way to see God's God's salvation in your life
43:01he's saying right now he delivers your soul he keeps you alive in the famine
43:07that is to say when you die he'll raise you up but while you are
43:13alive he keeps you every day from the famine I feel like preaching here is
43:19there anybody in this house you don't have everything you want to have not all
43:25your prayers are answered but one thing you know you ate on Monday
43:31last week you ate on Sunday last week you ate on Tuesday you
43:36ate on Wednesday am I talking to anybody here you ate on Thursday
43:42you ate on Friday you ate yesterday somebody lift your voice in here
43:48and say God is keeping my soul from the famine I
43:53lay down and I slept and I woke up because
43:59God is keeping me said I lay down and I
44:05slept and I woke up because God is keeping me
44:11he's worthy he's worthy of my praise why then should I
44:17not praise God why then should I not give him glory lift
44:23your hands in here lift your voice in here and give the
44:28Lord a praise that he is worthy of. Lift it up in
44:34here. Lift your voices. Lift your hands and give God a praise.
44:40He is greater. He is great in creation. He is great over
44:45the nations but he is great in my life. Every day he
44:51keeps on blessing me. He keeps on loving me. He
44:57keeps on protecting me. He keeps on looking out for
45:02me. I feel the Holy Ghost in here. Can I
45:08close? Can I close this little sermon here? I feel
45:14like preaching in here. Can I close a little sermon
45:20here? He said our souls wait for the Lord. Now at this
45:25point it is members in the congregation. I promise you I'm
45:31not making this up Dr. Sharp. The first three verses it's
45:36members of the congregation calling each other to worship. and the last
45:42three verses are members of the congregation calling each other to trust in God I
45:48feel like preaching in this place can you grab somebody by the hand as I

48:25been going through in my experience sometimes have have made me wonder but I've heard
48:30your word today you are sovereign over creation you are sovereign over the nations
48:36but yet your eyes are on me hallelujah he's got time to care
48:42to shepherd to save to deliver each person in this house whatever it
48:48is that you're dealing with come on lay them on the altar today
48:54lay them on the altar come on somebody might need to come here
49:00and lay some sins on the altar come on by the help of
49:06the Lord lay your suffering on the altar lay your sickness on
49:12the altar, ha God. lay your financial issues on the altar, lay them

60:10for the teachers and the students father in the name of jesus

60:39have millions of souls to see about, although the sun, the moon, the
60:45stars are in your care, still you have the time and the capacity
60:51to have your eyes on everyone. Hi, uh, hi. Uh, and I pray
60:56now in the name of Jesus, that in the same way that
61:02your word says that you can deliver us from death but you can
61:08preserve us in the midst of drought and famine that through every daily
61:14crisis that these schools may face these young people these teachers may face
61:19that you'll remind them every day over the next year that your eyes
61:25are on them that your hands are upon them in the name of Jesus that
61:31you'll protect them that you'll keep them oh God that you'll not allow any evil
61:36to come near their school God I pray you'll divert every mass shooter I pray
61:42that you'll divert everyone with evil intent ha ha God divert them into the arms
61:47of police officers let them get caught before they are able to do anything in
61:53the schools where these teachers and these students and indeed any school and any teacher
61:59is in the name of Jesus let your protection be upon them I pray that
62:05you will watch over the content of their curriculum watch over the content of their
62:11curriculum Watch over the content of their curriculum and I pray in the name
62:16of Jesus that you will allow the content or whatever is taught protect their minds
62:22that they will not for a second stray from what they know of the Lord
62:28and the love of God and the image of God. Preserve it Lord. allow the
62:33content to inculcate within our students Lord a rich appreciation for the image of God
62:38in themselves and in humanity allow the content of God to enrich them Lord in
62:44the social sciences but also in their moral character in the name of the Lord
62:49do it now keep your eyes upon them your hand upon them your protective detail
62:54around them let the angel of the Lord encamp round about all of these who
63:00fear you now and keep them oh god in all of their ways lest at
63:04any time they may dash your feet against stones and stumble and fall down let
63:09it not be so among your people but let them stand upright in everything let
63:14them be outstanding in their performances whether that be teaching or learning do it now
63:19we pray and all to the glory of god and the strengthening of your body
63:24in the name of jesus lift your hands all across this building and let's thank
63:29the god who is suffering over creation the God who is sovereign over nations but
63:34still has the time to have constant care for each and every one of us.
63:40His eyes are on you. Go in the strength of the Lord and the power
63:45for God. Father I pray now that as we get ready to go from this
63:50place you will dismiss us with your greatest blessings. Keep your hand over your people.
63:56Hallelujah. Keep your hand over your people. Hallelujah. And let your people know that your
64:01hands are over them. May we every now and then do like the
64:07psalmist do. That we will look up from our troubles and our personal trials.
64:13And look to God. Remind ourselves of your greatness. Of your sovereignty. And in

64:25put our trust in you and our hope in you God. We thank you
