Summary

Using the analogy of an athlete's second wind, Rev. Dr. Omar Williams explores Nehemiah 8-10 to show how God's Word and sincere repentance provide the spiritual stamina needed for the long haul of faith.

Key points
  • Revival is not merely an emotional event but a spiritual 'second wind' that occurs when a weary believer finds renewed energy and sustainable rhythm through God's Word.
  • True spiritual vitality requires a scriptural conviction where the Word of God is not just heard incidentally but received intentionally with reverence and understanding.
  • Authentic revival involves both the grief of acknowledging sin (conviction) and the sustaining joy of God's grace, which provides the strength to move forward.
  • Repentance is incomplete without a settled decision to change; it requires cutting off infinite sinful options to choose the single path of righteousness.

Life application

This week, move beyond emotional responses to God by identifying one specific area of your life where you need to 'cut off' old habits and make a firm, written covenant to follow God's way instead of your own.

Reflection questions
  1. In what areas of your spiritual life do you feel you have hit a 'wall' and need a second wind?
  2. How does understanding the context of God's promises, such as Jeremiah 29:11, change how you view your current trials?
  3. What 'dead weight' or unconfessed sin are you trying to carry into your next season that God is asking you to surrender?
  4. What practical step can you take today to ensure your 'Yes' to God lasts longer than an emotional high?

1:06Jesus.
1:07We bless the wonderful name of Jesus.
1:11Amen. God bless you. You may be seated
1:13in the presence of our good
1:16and our gracious God. Amen. What a
1:20mighty God we serve.
1:23Angels bow before him. Thank you. Media,
1:24this is pretty good. Heaven and Earth
1:27adore him.
1:28He is a mighty God. Mighty God. We're so
1:32delighted today to have
1:35our guest with us from St. Thomas
1:39of the U.S. Virgin Islands. God bless
1:42you. So great having you. Amen. They God
1:46bless you.
1:47They are
1:48uh they they are very good friends of
1:51Lady Norma.
1:52And uh she didn't want me to do this, so
1:54she took back the paper with their names
1:56on it.
1:57But we want to thank God for them. Want
1:59to thank God for them. Thank you for
2:01being with us today and for praying for
2:03us. Every time you watch, want to thank
2:04you for praying for us. Want to thank
2:06God also for those who are back from
2:08school. Amen. God bless you. So good to
2:10see you. I see uh President Gabby over
2:13there. I see Abigail over here on my
2:16right. Is there anybody else that is
2:18back home from school?
2:20All right. Well, we thank God for you
2:22and it is so good to have you in the
2:25house of the Lord in worship today. And
2:27it's so glad just to have everybody.
2:29Look across Help me do this. Look at
2:32your neighbor. Say neigh- say neighbor
2:35You look good and you smell good.
2:37And I'm so delighted that you're in
2:39God's house today.
2:41Amen.
2:43Amen. Praise God.
2:46Amen.
2:48Amen.
2:50So as as Pastor Chris mentioned, as we
2:52are getting ready for
2:54uh our Focus on Jesus Summit, we are
2:57very thankful
3:00uh for uh Bishop Michael W. Smith and uh
3:04at some point we'll Yes, put your hands
3:06together for for for them.
3:10It it has been quite a journey um
3:13uh with venues and we'll we'll share
3:15more with you um on that at at at some
3:19point. But it's been quite a journey.
3:21But thank God for him and for the
3:23congregation there that uh opened up
3:26their doors to us and we'll have the
3:28services there and they'll be great
3:30services. They'll be great services.
3:33FOJ has always um
3:36cost us a a great deal, right? Of
3:39course, we've got to fly in speakers and
3:41teachers, we got to host them, and we're
3:44thanking God for friends of Pentecostal
3:47Tabernacle for years. These are people
3:50who are vested. They are not just coming
3:52for a payday, but still we got to take
3:54care of our speakers and our guest,
3:56right?
3:58And Bishop I said to the first service
4:00this morning, Bishop Smith has been a
4:03great blessing to us. They're living
4:05true to the name of their congregation,
4:08but also we want to make sure that
4:11wisdom prevails, and we know that it
4:14takes it takes finances
4:18to keep the church going, right? Keep
4:21keep the building going, pay light bill,
4:23and and will we be using electricity
4:25over there?
4:26Water over there?
4:27Restrooms over there?
4:29So, I want to ask us I want to ask us
4:31that on the 14th of June, on the 14th of
4:34June, if we could bring a special
4:36offering.
4:38Pray about it.
4:39Uh it's never been the tradition of this
4:41church to tell you to bring a thousand
4:43dollars or two thousand. I didn't see
4:45Bishop doing that. I won't either.
4:48But the Bible says that we should think
4:50about it and consider what can we do,
4:53right? So, if you can beyond your tithe
4:56and offerings, if you can bring a
4:58special offering on the 14th of June,
5:01just so that we can make the budget for
5:04the summit and be able to take care of
5:06all that we need to take care of. Just
5:08given where we are right now with all
5:10the reconstruction and so forth and so
5:11on. Amen?
5:13Can the church say amen? All right.
5:15Partner let's partner together, and we
5:17will do this
5:18in the Lord. Go with me in your Bibles
5:21to the book of Nehemiah.
5:23>> [clears throat]
5:24>> Nehemiah chapter 8. Father, we thank you
5:27now for your precious name among us. We
5:30thank you for your word of life and for
5:32the worship and for the word. Give us
5:35preaching power this morning. Speak to
5:36us with clarity with the unction of the
5:39Holy Ghost. Shatter chains that hold us
5:43bound to things that we want to be freed
5:45from. Give freedom, revival, renewal,
5:48and refreshing to your people in this
5:50house. In the name of Jesus we pray. And
5:53everybody say amen.
5:55I want to read in your hearing from
5:58uh
5:59Nehemiah chapter 8 and I want to start
6:01at verse 5 and just read a few verses.
6:04It says, "And Ezra opened the book in
6:07the sight of all the people
6:09for he was standing above all the
6:12people." Preaching and teaching should
6:14still be about the book, right? Yeah,
6:17not philosophy, not opinions, but the
6:19book.
6:21"For he was standing above all the
6:22people and when he opened it, all the
6:25people stood up. And Ezra blessed the
6:28Lord, the great God. Then all the people
6:30answered, 'Amen. Amen.' While lifting up
6:34their hands. And they bowed their heads
6:38and worshiped the Lord with their faces
6:40to the ground." Verse 8, "So they read
6:44distinctly from the book of the law of
6:45God and they gave the sense and helped
6:47them to understand the reading.
6:50And Nehemiah, who was the governor, Ezra
6:52the priest and the scribe, the Levites
6:54who taught the people said to the
6:55people, 'This day is holy to the Lord
6:58your God. Do not mourn nor weep for all
7:00the people wept when they heard the
7:02words of the law.' Then he said to them,
7:04'Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the
7:05sweet, and send portions to those for
7:07whom nothing is prepared for this day is
7:09holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow for the
7:12joy of the Lord
7:14is your strength." Amen. Thank God for
7:19the reading of his holy word. I want to
7:21speak to us today as we continue the
7:22long haul series. I want to speak to us
7:24on this thought, a second wind.
7:28A second wind.
7:31I'm in Nehemiah chapters 8, 9, and 10
7:35today.
7:37At the Paris Olympics,
7:40Dutch athlete
7:43Sifan Hassan
7:45attempted a mammoth feat,
7:48competing in the 5K,
7:5110K,
7:53and the marathon
7:54in just a few days apart.
7:59After winning bronze in the first two
8:01races she
8:03faced [snorts] the marathon on arguably
8:07the world's toughest course in the hilly
8:10terrains of Paris.
8:13Around the 29K mark of the marathon on a
8:17steep incline known as the Wall Hill.
8:21And it's called that way because that's
8:23where you hit that proverbial wall.
8:27She was visibly exhausted.
8:30The lead pack of runners began to pull
8:33away from her, and she seemed destined
8:37to lose the race.
8:39But somewhere at the summit of the hill,
8:43she found a second wind.
8:46She found a new rhythm and slowly began
8:50to close the gap on the front runners.
8:54With just a quarter of a mile to go,
8:57Hassan found summoned a remarkable burst
9:00of strength from somewhere deep within,
9:04sprinting the final straightaway to win
9:07the marathon's gold medal and to set a
9:10new Olympic record.
9:14Anyone in this house who has ever run
9:17long distances, whether you're playing a
9:19long soccer game, basketball game, or a
9:21track meet, you know the necessity of
9:26getting a second wind.
9:28It happens when the athlete reaches to
9:32the place of exhaustion [snorts]
9:34and fatigue, and they have to make a
9:36decision within their minds at that
9:39time. Do I just surrender and lose this
9:42race, or do I push past the
9:46[clears throat] point of agony and find
9:50renewed energy and a sustainable rhythm
9:53to finish the race?
9:55Brothers and sisters, this idea of a
9:58second wind is what revival is for the
10:03weary believer who has been on the
10:05journey for a long time. And unlike what
10:08the song says, I've been on this journey
10:11a long time and I'm not tired yet. But
10:14is there anybody that just want to be
10:15honest that sometimes you do feel tired
10:19on this long journey? Sometimes you feel
10:21fatigued and frustrated by things taking
10:24a very long time to come together, by
10:26processes you can't control, by people
10:29who may frustrate you. But is there
10:30anybody in this house that would like
10:33for God to just give you a second wind
10:35today? Yeah, yeah, I I need God to give
10:39me a second wind that I might run the
10:42race, that I might finish the course
10:45that is set before me. Sometimes we need
10:48a second wind.
10:50We need a second wind. Nehemiah chapters
10:538, 9, and 10
10:55tell the story of Israel catching their
10:58spiritual second wind of revival so that
11:02they could be the nation that God had
11:05called them to be. We've been tracking
11:07through the book of Nehemiah for the
11:08last uh several weeks. And by the time
11:11we get to Nehemiah chapter 8, we see a
11:14fatigued people. They had spent grueling
11:17months surveying the damages, planning,
11:21walking around the walls, strategizing,
11:23laying stones with one hand while
11:25fighting enemies with the other, holding
11:27a trowel in one hand and a sword in the
11:30other hand. Eventually, the physical
11:33work got done, but they got the work
11:36done, but their spiritual and emotional
11:39tanks were on empty.
11:42They completed the building project and
11:45then they came to the realization that I
11:48want us to come to today, that the
11:50security of the physical walls were
11:53meaningless without the spiritual
11:56vitality in God in the people who serve
12:00God. Am I talking to anybody here? And
12:02and it speaks to us today because we are
12:05desirous of getting back into our
12:08physical sanctuary. I was telling the
12:10story in the first service this morning
12:12that on Friday morning, I came here and
12:14I walked through the building and I
12:17looked at where we are and I tell you I
12:20inside I felt the heaviness, the
12:22frustration of processes and bureaucracy
12:26that we can't go around, that we can't
12:28circumnavigate. And I want the building
12:30to be finished, but but but I am hearing
12:33the Lord saying that yes, you will
12:36finish the building, you will renew the
12:39building, but will a revived people
12:42reenter a renewed building? Am I talking
12:44to anybody here? They completed the
12:47building project, but they were
12:48spiritually exhausted and God said,
12:51"Before you can inhabit the new
12:53building, you need a spiritual revival."
12:58You need a second wind. That's what he
12:59said to Nehemiah and his group, and I
13:02believe that's good for us today, that
13:04we need a second wind. We we need a
13:07second wind of revival. Am I talking to
13:10anybody in this house?
13:12So, this text argues that the identity
13:16and the thriving of the people of God
13:19depend not merely on a new building, but
13:22it depends entirely on how we get
13:25revived by engaging the scriptures, by
13:28sincerely repenting and renewing our
13:32covenant faithfulness to a God who has
13:35been faithful to us. Is there anybody in
13:37this house that can testify that in 30
13:40years, 10 years, [clears throat] however
13:41long you've been on the earth or been in
13:43this church, God has been faithful
13:45[snorts]
13:46to you. Do I have a witness in the house
13:48that God has been faithful? And the
13:50question is, will you also decide that I
13:54will be faithful to the God who has been
13:56faithful to me?
13:58Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. So, they got revival
14:03by engaging the scriptures, by genuine
14:06repentance and and by a renewed covenant
14:09faithfulness. I want to walk through
14:10this here. It started with a scriptural
14:14conviction. Chapter 8 says to us that
14:16the revival that they needed, the
14:18revival they desired, the revival that
14:21some of the older folks may have been
14:23praying about when the sanctuary was
14:25reopened, that it began with a
14:28scriptural conviction in Nehemiah
14:30chapter 8. And I want to say to us,
14:32brothers and sisters, that in the same
14:34way that the second wind for the Jews
14:37came when they engaged the scriptures,
14:40that you and I can also find renewed
14:44strength and renewed power in the word
14:47of God. For there is power in the word
14:50of God. Does anybody know that there's
14:51power in the word of God? The word of
14:53God is living and powerful and sharper
14:57than any two-edged sword, piercing even
15:00to the dividing asunder of soul and
15:02spirit and joints and marrows. Some days
15:05when I feel down, I lift up the word of
15:07God and I don't go to the hard to read
15:09passages. I just go to the Psalms.
15:12I just go to the Psalms. Bless the Lord,
15:14oh my soul, and all that is within me,
15:16bless his holy name. I go to the word
15:19because there is power in the word. For
15:21you and I must realize that the word of
15:24God is what created everything around
15:27us. And it is the word of God that is
15:29sustaining everything that we see. God's
15:32word has the power if God's word could
15:35catapult the sun 93 million miles above
15:37the earth and keep us this this ball of
15:40ours uh in space and not falling. If it
15:43can keep us steady while the earth is
15:45revolving at a remarkable pace, what can
15:48the word of God do in your heart, in
15:51your soul, and in your family? I just
15:54need the word of God to SPARK A NEW
15:56REVIVAL IN MY SOUL.
15:59I need the word of God. I want you to
16:01note, brothers and sisters, as they
16:03prayed for revival, note the pivotal
16:06role of the scriptures in initiating and
16:10sustaining the revival. Revival may not
16:14look the way we think it should. We
16:16don't have to wait for a conference. We
16:18don't have to wait for a building. This
16:19word is saying to us that if we would
16:21break open the word of God, then we can
16:25begin a brand new revival in our own
16:29spiritual lives.
16:32Theologian Edwin Orr, he defined revival
16:35as, quote, "The spirit of God working
16:38through the word of God in the lives of
16:40the people of God." unquote. I want
16:42God's word to begin to work in me, to
16:45begin to cut some things out of me, to
16:47begin to make some things new in me.
16:50Because when that happens, then I'm on
16:52the verge of a revival. Brothers and
16:55sisters, these people, they firstly
16:57received the word of God. They received
17:00the word of God. Chapter 8, verses 1 to
17:028. They received the word of God. How
17:05did they receive the word of God?
17:06Firstly, they paid attention to the word
17:09of God. Everybody say they paid
17:10attention.
17:11They paid attention to the word of God,
17:13verse three. The Bible says that when
17:15the gate the the the wall the word of
17:17God was read to them in the public
17:19square from morning until midday, the
17:23people were attentive
17:26to the book of the law. They opened up
17:28their ears. You see, there are two words
17:32two Hebrew words for hear in the Old
17:35Testament. There is the word shama and
17:37the word shima. The word shama means to
17:41hear incidentally, to hear by accident,
17:44to not be intentional about hearing. And
17:46a lot of us can hear things by accident.
17:49I'm telling you, I've heard things that
17:51I wish I could unhear, Lady Precious. I
17:54I have heard things I wish that's shama,
17:57but shima means to intentionally tune my
18:01heart and tune my ears that I might hear
18:05the word of the Lord. Why? Because faith
18:09comes by hearing and hearing by the word
18:12of God. I WANT TO HEAR GOD'S WORD THAT
18:15new faith CAN BEGIN TO ARISE
18:19within my heart. Is there anybody in
18:21this house that want to hear the word?
18:23They attended to the word, verse six.
18:24They reverenced the word. They had
18:26reverence for the word of God. When Ezra
18:28opened the book, Ezra blessed the Lord
18:31the great God. Then all the people
18:33answered, "Amen. Amen." While lifting up
18:37their hands, they bowed down their heads
18:40and they worshipped the Lord with their
18:42faces to the ground. They had reverence
18:46for the word of God. And that's why we
18:49stand when we read the word of God. But
18:51beyond standing in the house of the
18:53Lord, I want to call the people of God
18:57back to a renewed reverence and respect
19:00and honor for the word of God because
19:02don't you know that there are only two
19:05eternal things in this world, the word
19:08of God and the soul of humanity.
19:10Everything else that you respect,
19:12everything else that you honor is going
19:14to decay and be burnt up, but the word
19:17of God is forever settled in heaven. I
19:21need THE WORD OF GOD IN MY SOUL. Do I
19:23have anybody in here? I respect the word
19:25FOR WHEN I'M DOWN AND OUT WHAT THIS IS
19:27SAYING TO ME, THE ONLY THING THAT CAN
19:30lift me UP IS THE WORD OF GOD. SOMEBODY
19:33SHOUT one word, hallelujah. Is anybody
19:36ever been here where just one word from
19:38the Lord, you you just heard one word
19:40from you just heard a scripture, you
19:42just read a verse and in [clears throat]
19:44NO TIME YOUR SOUL THAT WAS DRY BEGINS TO
19:47FIND REFRESHING AND RENEWAL. SOMEBODY
19:49SHOUT JUST ONE WORD, JUST one word. I
19:52just NEED ONE WORD FROM GOD, SO I
19:54REVERENCE THE WORD.
19:56YEAH they
19:58they they revered the word, they
20:00understood the word. Verse 8, they
20:02understood the word. They Here this,
20:03they read distinctly from the book of
20:05the law, they gave the sense and they
20:07understood the reading. By the time they
20:09came back, many of them were speaking
20:11Chaldean. Chaldean where the scriptures
20:13were written in Hebrew. So sometimes
20:15when they read, they would have to find
20:17the Hebrew definition, the meaning of
20:20the word. That is what what it means to
20:21read distinctly. To give the sense means
20:24that they expounded on it, they
20:26understood it. And that was what enabled
20:28them to comprehend the word of God.
20:31Brothers and sisters, when we understand
20:35the word of God, we understand the mind
20:38of God and the will of God for us. I was
20:40sharing in the first service that a
20:42scripture such as I know the thoughts
20:45and the plans that I have for you, saith
20:48the Lord. Brothers and sisters, it takes
20:51on new meaning when we understand the
20:53context in which it was said. Often
20:55times, we read it and we strip it of the
20:58context. We read it in a vacuum, but it
21:00was told the people of God in the
21:03context where they were told that 70
21:07years are determined for you in Babylon.
21:09You will be in Babylon for 70 long
21:12years. Don't listen to false prophets.
21:14Don't think you're going to get out
21:16immediately. This is not a you spin
21:18three times and you come out. No, no,
21:20no. You're going to be in this for a
21:21long time. You may feel pain for a long
21:24time. You may have agony for a long
21:26time. This is what the Lord is saying.
21:27It may take a while for you to be healed
21:30and refreshed and for you to find the
21:31change you need, but what you must know
21:34while you're going through all of that,
21:36says the word of the Lord, I know the
21:37thoughts and the plans I have for you.
21:40Now, WHEN I UNDERSTAND THAT, THAT GIVES
21:42ME some hope and some joy in the Lord
21:44because I am REMINDED THAT NO MATTER
21:47WHAT HELL, HIGH WATER COME MY WAY, NO
21:50MATTER WHAT government policies, no
21:52matter what changes may happen in the
21:54economy, I feel the Holy Ghost in here.
21:56JOB AND EMPLOYMENT LOSS OR DEFICIENCY, I
21:59KNOW THAT GOD IS GOING TO TAKE CARE of
22:02me. Is there ANYBODY HERE? I DON'T NEED
22:03TO BE DEPRESSED, DESPONDENT, IN DESPAIR
22:06>> [laughter]
22:06>> CUZ I KNOW GOD SAYS I HAVE A PLAN FOR
22:09YOU AND IT WON'T CHANGE NO MATTER WHAT
22:11CHANGE IS.
22:12THEY understood the word of God and
22:14brothers and sisters, the Bible says
22:16that after understanding the word, they
22:18began to respond to God's word. They
22:21responded to God's word. Verses 8,
22:23chapter 8, verses 9 to 18. We're always
22:26responding to God's word. Sometimes our
22:27response is is yes, Lord. Sometimes we
22:30say no, Lord. Sometimes we say next
22:33time, Lord, but here's the deal. We're
22:35always responding to the word of the
22:37Lord. Those people chose to say yes to
22:41the word of God even when it cut them,
22:44they said yes to the word of the Lord.
22:46Hallelujah. So, there was the immediate
22:49emotional response. Immediate emotional
22:52response verses 9 to 12. When they heard
22:55the word, the Bible said in verse 9 that
22:57they were convicted and began to weep
23:00and to mourn because conviction
23:03conviction can feel like a sucker punch
23:06that when the word of God hits you and
23:09it begins to challenge [snorts] you in
23:11areas of your life our lives that are
23:14out of alignment with the will of God
23:18that word can cut you. Am I talking to
23:20anybody here? But I have come to learn
23:22Elder Ramon that I can't have revival or
23:25renewal without allowing the word to cut
23:28me on the inside. Let's go back to Acts
23:30chapter 2. When they heard the word of
23:32the Lord, they were pricked in their
23:35reins. That is to say they were
23:37convicted to their hearts. They felt the
23:40grief for HOW THEY HAD GONE A FOUL OF
23:43THE LAW OF GOD. I feel the Holy Ghost in
23:46this place. It takes us feeling that
23:48sucker punch. Has anybody ever felt
23:50that? Has God ever challenged you? Has
23:53he ever called you to the carpet for
23:55some sin that was unconfessed? Am I
23:58talking to anybody here? Some kind of
24:00thing you were giving into and the WORD
24:02OF GOD CALLED YOU TO THE CARPET AND YOU
24:06FELT THE GRIEF
24:08of God calling you out.
24:11A lot of us don't want to feel the grief
24:13of God calling us out. We want the
24:15preacher to tell us everything is okay
24:17with you. You are you are doing good.
24:19God's going to give you cash and cars
24:21and cribs and clothes and and booze and
24:23babes. You going to be fine child. Don't
24:26worry about sins. But here's the deal.
24:29This is not This is what the Bible says
24:31that God's word has got to cut you
24:33before he sews you up. That God's word
24:36has got to crush you in repentance
24:38before he builds YOU UP AGAIN. EVERY
24:41REVIVAL STARTS WITH THE WORD OF GOD
24:44CUTTING SOME THINGS.
24:46>> YEAH, he's got to he has got to cut but
24:49but but but brothers and sisters this is
24:52a tension in the text here that that the
24:54same word that cut them in conviction is
24:58the same word that came to them and said
25:01the joy of the Lord is your strength. I
25:03feel the Holy Ghost in this place. That
25:05is to say you and I to be revived we
25:10must deal with the grief THE HEAVINESS
25:12OF ACKNOWLEDGING our sins our weaknesses
25:15our faults our failures before GOD
25:18BEFORE we can APPRECIATE THE GRACE OF
25:22GOD THAT lifts us out of that sin. Am I
25:25talking to anybody here? [clears throat]
25:26We we've got to appreciate verse 23 of
25:29Romans chapter 3. All have sinned.
25:33Not y'all have sinned
25:35but all have sinned. That means I have
25:38sinned. I have to deal with the fact
25:40that I have some sin issues. Am I
25:42talking to anybody? Is there anybody
25:43here in the house that
25:45that you've got to you've got to
25:46confront yourself. I got some sin
25:49problems inside of me but but I have to
25:52deal with the grief and the WEIGHT OF
25:54THAT BEFORE I CAN enjoy the joy of verse
25:5824 that says I am freely justified. Am I
26:01talking to anybody here? I have got TO
26:03DEAL WITH THE FACT THAT I GOT SOME
26:05issues in my life before I can rejoice
26:08THAT HE THAT THE SON SET FREE IS FREE
26:12INDEED.
26:14So they were pricked in their hearts but
26:16but God will not leave them just in a
26:19lurch of sadness. God said to them I
26:22have come to give you joy. I want my
26:25grace to give you joy. Yes, think about
26:28the sins that you have committed. Think
26:29about how weak you are but I want you to
26:31leave with the joy of knowing that my
26:33grace is sufficient for you and my
26:36strength is made perfect IN THE MIDDLE
26:39OF YOUR WEAKNESS. IS THERE ANYBODY that
26:41want to rejoice over that right now?
26:43When you think of who you are, what
26:44you've done, the guilt you carry, BUT
26:47YOU HEAR GOD SAY, "MY GRACE
26:49IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU, AND MY STRENGTH
26:53IS MADE PERFECT IN THE ADDICTIONS THAT
26:55YOU CAN'T BEAT. FOR WHEN I BRING YOU OUT
26:57OF IT, YOU'LL BEGIN TO REALIZE, IF IT
26:59HAD NOT BEEN, HALLELUJAH, FOR THE LORD
27:02WHO WAS ON MY SIDE, WHERE WOULD I BE?"
27:07OH, THANK YOU, LORD.
27:09Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. I
27:11found joy. I find joy in that. I find
27:14joy. I find I find joy when I think of
27:17where he brought me from. I I remember
27:19one of the old fathers testifying in a
27:21Jamaican church, and he said, he said,
27:24"Not because I are tonsil."
27:27If you did know who I was um Now, I know
27:29that's very bad grammar, but it's good
27:32theology. Not because I am LIKE THIS
27:34NOW. NOT BECAUSE YOU SEE ME NOW
27:36REJOICING and shouting. IF YOU KNEW
27:38WHERE GOD BROUGHT ME FROM, IS THERE
27:41ANYBODY IN THIS HOUSE WHO'S GOT A
27:43SIMILAR TESTIMONY? I'M FREE AND
27:46REJOICING IN THE LORD TODAY BECAUSE OF
27:49WHAT HE BROUGHT ME OUT OF TOMORROW. YOU
27:51DON'T KNOW WHAT HE BROUGHT ME OUT OF.
27:53YOU DON'T KNOW HOW I FELT WRITTEN OFF,
27:55BUT THANK GOD
27:56>> [screaming]
27:57>> FOR FREEDOM IN HIS NAME.
27:59OH HALLELUJAH.
28:01SOMETIME, YEAH, we got to feel the grief
28:03of acknowledging our sins before we can
28:06enjoy the grace of God. So, there was a
28:08short-term emotional response, but then
28:11I like the long-term practical response.
28:14And it is this, brothers and sisters,
28:17when they heard uh that the Lord wanted
28:21to forgive them and to cleanse them and
28:23renew them, the people said, "We must
28:26take an action. Beyond crying, we must
28:29act. Beyond shouting, we must act."
28:32Yeah, I don't mind crying in church. I
28:34don't mind shouting at the sermon, but
28:36here's the deal. When all of that is
28:39done, we need to take action.
28:41We must take action. So, they decided
28:44the next feast that was coming up. For
28:46many years, they had not kept the feast
28:48of the Lord. So, they decided the next
28:50feast, the feast of Tabernacles, they
28:52would observe that. The feast of
28:54Tabernacles. This is interesting because
28:56Remember when the Lord brought them into
28:57the land, he said, "I'm going to give
28:58you houses you didn't build, vineyards
29:01you didn't plant. You're going to be
29:03drinking wine that you did not know the
29:05origins of it." And so, when God blessed
29:08them, the Lord said, "This I require of
29:10you lest you begin to worship the houses
29:13I put you in. Lest you begin to worship
29:15the Tabernacle that you have. I need you
29:18every year to get out of your house, get
29:20out of your chariot, and I need you to
29:23come outside, get some sticks, and build
29:26a hut, and cover it with leaves, and
29:29stay out there for one whole week so
29:31that you can remember that what means
29:34more than a house and a car and
29:37amenities is the presence OF GOD.
29:39BECAUSE HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR GOD'S
29:41PRESENCE with you, you could have had
29:43none of those things in the first place.
29:44Leading here for a second, church. I
29:46know we're grieving over our sanctuary.
29:48I know that, and I don't want to
29:50belittle our pain and our distress and
29:52our discomfort. I want to get back
29:53there, too. BUT, HERE IS WHAT GOD
29:55CHALLENGED ME WITH THIS WEEK. HE SAID,
29:58"You ought to rejoice IN THE PRESENCE OF
30:00GOD. YOU'VE GOT TO CELEBRATE THE
30:02PRESENCE BECAUSE it is the presence that
30:05really matters." I feel THE HOLY GHOST
30:07HERE. AS LONG AS THE PRESENCE IS WITH
30:10ME, my God, I can survive TILL I GET
30:13BACK TO THE HOUSE. IN FACT, I don't want
30:14to be in a house where the presence is
30:16NOT THERE. I NEED THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
30:19IS THERE ANYBODY IN THIS PLACE THAT
30:21KNOWS THAT WHAT MATTERS MOST OF ALL IS
30:24BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF THE ALMIGHTY
30:26GOD?
30:28FOR HE THAT DWELLETH in the secret
30:29place, hallelujah, of the most high God
30:33shall abide under the shadow of the
30:35almighty. What matters MORE THAN A
30:37SANCTUARY IS BEING IN THE PRESENCE OF
30:40GOD.
30:43SOMEBODY SHOUT, I WANT HIS PRESENCE.
30:45I want it now, and I want it when we get
30:47back in the sanctuary. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
30:49yeah. I I I I WANT IT NOW, AND I WANT IT
30:53AT MY HOUSE, AND I WANT IT IN THE
30:55SANCTUARY, BUT WHAT MATTERS MOST IS THE
30:57PRESENCE OF GOD.
30:59I FEEL THE HOLY Ghost here, yeah. They
31:02they started they started with a
31:04scriptural conviction, but the
31:05scriptures lead to something. The
31:07scriptural conviction led to a sincere
31:10confession in chapter 9. In chapter 8,
31:13they read the scriptures, but in chapter
31:149, they prayed the scriptures. Chapter 9
31:17is a grand prayer of confession of the
31:21people before God, because you see, when
31:23the heart is fully convicted, the mouth
31:26can't help but confess.
31:29Yeah, when the heart is convicted, Paul
31:30said it in Romans chapter 10 verses 9 to
31:3310. He says, "With the heart, man
31:36believes." That is to say, we become
31:38convicted unto repentance,
31:40[clears throat] but with the mouth,
31:41confession is made unto salvation. If
31:45our hearts believe what the word of God
31:47says, then our mouth has got to confess
31:49some things, because you see, brothers
31:51and sisters, we can't go into the new
31:55revival that GOD WANTS CARRYING A BUNCH
31:58OF dead unconfessed sins with us. We
32:01need to confess them before the Lord. Am
32:03I talking to anybody here? Yeah, the old
32:05Scottish proverb say that confession is
32:08good for the soul. I need to confess
32:10some things. I I need to get some things
32:12OUT OF MY SYSTEM. IS THERE ANYBODY
32:15THAT'S TIRED OF carrying some things
32:18around with you, and that old devil
32:20keeps coming back, "I know what you did
32:22last summer." But is there anybody in
32:24the house of the Lord today? IS THERE
32:26ANYBODY IN GOD'S HOUSE THAT IS
32:28DETERMINED THAT I MUST FINISH THE
32:31JOURNEY, AND IF IT means I got to
32:32confess some THINGS TO GOD, HE DIDN'T
32:34SAY CONFESS TO A MAN. He says come and
32:37confess to me, FOR IF YOU WILL CONFESS
32:39WITH YOUR MOUTH, I AM FAITHFUL AND I AM
32:42JUST TO FORGIVE YOU OF EVERY SIN. There
32:45is a lot of people in here carrying
32:48around some dead weights trying to get
32:50back into a new sanctuary WITH DEAD
32:52WEIGHTS, BUT GOD SAID, "I NEED YOU TO
32:54CONFESS THEM. I NEED YOU TO FESS UP. I
32:58WANT TO WIPE YOU. I WANT TO MAKE you
32:59clean. I WANT TO RENEW YOU, BUT
33:01CONFESS."
33:04OH, CONFESS, CONFESS. YEAH, they confess
33:08their sins before the Lord. They they
33:10confess their current sins and their
33:12historic sins in verses 1 to 3. They
33:15confess their sins to God in verses 1 to
33:1831. They confess the sovereignty of God.
33:21They confess to God, "Yes, our sins are
33:24great." You got to hear this now,
33:25because if we'll flow in revival, we
33:28must always remember that God's
33:31sovereignty is greater than all our
33:34sins. Lean in here for a second. Is
33:35there anybody in the house that KNOW IT
33:37THAT GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY IS greater than
33:40every sin you can commit? Am I talking
33:43to anybody? I don't care how grave it
33:46seems. I don't know what society says
33:48ABOUT YOU, BUT THERE is no sin you can
33:51commit that is greater than the
33:52sovereignty of God. So, when you confess
33:55your sins, remember that the sovereignty
33:58of God I feel the Holy Ghost in here is
34:01able to bring you through that. Oh God,
34:03they confess the greatness of God. They
34:06look back and they confess the greatness
34:08of God in creation. What does this have
34:10to do with their sins? Because they're
34:13building a case [clears throat] here
34:14that the God that created everything,
34:17the God who created and preserves the
34:20great universe and it's not destroyed by
34:23all the great earthquakes and the great
34:26hurricanes and tsunamis and and
34:28tornadoes. Those things occur, but they
34:31do not destroy the work of God. Lean in
34:34here. What sin you can have in your
34:36life. I feel THE HOLY GHOST HERE THAT
34:38THE GOD WHO MANAGES THE WIND and the
34:41rain that he can take care of. For where
34:44sin abounds
34:46GRACE GOT A CHURCH here today. GRACE
34:48DOES MUCH MORE ABOUND. LOOK THAT
34:51NEIGHBOR IN THE FACE and say, "Neighbor,
34:53don't let that devil take you OUT
34:55BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT SIN YOU HAVE
34:57COMMITTED IN YOUR LIFE, YOU JUST GOT to
34:59go back and remember the greatness of
35:00God." Remember that the greatness of God
35:02in creation. Oh Lord our Lord, go back
35:04to Psalm 8. Oh Lord our God, how
35:06excellent is your name in all
35:10the earth. And he talked about the
35:12greatness and the wonders of God and the
35:14majesty. But somewhere in the middle of
35:16talking about the majesty. I don't know
35:18what happened, but he began to see God
35:20and him. And he said, "You made me a
35:22little bit lower than the angels." Yeah,
35:24yeah. And you've crowned me with glory
35:27and honor. Lean in here for a while,
35:29saints of the Lord. THIS IS A REVIVAL
35:31HERE. NO MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, NO
35:34MATTER WHAT YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH, NO
35:35MATTER what the devil WANT TO MAKE YOU
35:37THINK ABOUT YOURSELF, YOU NEED TO
35:38UNDERSTAND THIS. There is a God who made
35:40you and a God who wants to crown you
35:43with glory and honor. I feel THE HOLY
35:46GHOST IN HERE. DO I HAVE ANY SAINT OF
35:48GOD IN THE HOUSE RIGHT NOW? YEAH, YOU
35:51HAVE messed up, YOU HAVE FALLEN, YOU
35:54FEEL LIKE GIVING UP, FEEL LIKE THROWING
35:56IN THE TOWEL. BUT GOD'S WORD IS HERE TO
35:58TELL YOU, "I HAVE A CROWN OF GLORY AND
36:00honor over you. IF [clears throat] YOU
36:02CAN GET UP
36:05IF YOU CAN GET UP, IF YOU CONFESS UP, IF
36:08YOU CAN LET ME LIFT YOU UP, I'LL CROWN
36:11YOU WITH GLORY AND HONOR. IS THERE
36:13ANYBODY IN THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW?
36:15>> [laughter]
36:15>> IS THERE ANYBODY IN THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW
36:18THAT WANT TO THANK GOD THAT YES, he
36:20placed a crown of GLORY AND HONOR. GET
36:24UP. YOU CAN GET UP. YES. YES. YES. I
36:26SAID YOU CAN GET UP. I SAID YOU CAN GET
36:29UP. I SAID YOU CAN GET UP. I SAID YOU
36:32CAN GET UP. [screaming]
36:36SHAMMAH. HALLELUJAH. HALLELUJAH. They
36:39thought about the goodness of God in
36:41creation. They talked about They
36:42confessed the goodness of God in
36:44covenant. They say, "God, we are here
36:47today because you kept us. Hallelujah.
36:49>> [laughter]
36:50>> It's not because we were so good because
36:52we sinned. We messed up, but you kept us
36:55because you gave us a covenant. And you,
36:58by yourself, you put Abraham to sleep
37:01and by yourself, you walked between the
37:03rows of the dead meat that he had just
37:05killed." That is to say, "When anybody
37:07made a covenant in the Old Testament" Uh
37:10come here, Elder Ramon. When they When
37:12they made a covenant in the Old
37:14Testament, they would kill the animals
37:17and they would and they would scatter
37:19the entrails on two sides. One on that
37:21side and one on that side. Come here,
37:23Elder Ramon. Stand beside me right here.
37:25And then they would walk through the
37:27parts together as an [clears throat]
37:29indication that both people
37:32>> [laughter]
37:32>> were responsible for the full equal
37:35responsible for the keeping of the
37:37covenant. [clears throat] Yeah. Yeah.
37:39Two of us. You got to do your part and I
37:41got to do my But look at what God did.
37:42Thank you, Elder Ramon. When When he
37:45made a covenant with Abraham, HE SAID,
37:48"ABRAHAM, YOU GO TO SLEEP." I feel the
37:50Holy Ghost here. And God walked by
37:52himself between the rows. Our God. He
37:56walked by himself between the rows.
37:58Well, can I go further? Can I go
38:00further? He was by himself between one
38:04thief on the right and one on the left.
38:06You weren't there and I weren't THERE. I
38:07FEEL LIKE PREACHING in this place. And
38:09he walked by himself between the rows.
38:13He was between the seal stone and the
38:15stone [clears throat] of the TOMB BY
38:16HIMSELF. THAT is to say that yes, I need
38:20you TO PARTICIPATE, BUT MORE THAN YOU
38:22CAN, I GOT THE POWER. AM I TALKING TO
38:25ANYBODY HERE? I'VE GOT THE POWER TO KEEP
38:28you from falling. My God, I feel the
38:31Holy Ghost in here. I SAID I GOT THE
38:33power to keep you FROM FALLING. IS THERE
38:37ANYBODY HERE WHO KNOWS THAT YOU DIDN'T
38:39GET HERE JUST BECAUSE OF YOU? You got
38:42here because God
38:44kept you. Can anybody testify? When I
38:48didn't know the right thing, he kept me.
38:50WHEN I MESSED UP, HE KEPT ME. WHEN I
38:53FELL DOWN, HE GAVE ME A CHANCE TO
38:55REPENT. WHEN I DIDN'T HAVE FAITH, HE
38:57BROUGHT ME BACK TOGETHER. CAN ANYBODY
39:01TESTIFY IN THE HOUSE? I THANK GOD.
39:04[screaming]
39:05THANK GOD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS.
39:10HE HAS BEEN FAITHFUL. HALLELUJAH. He has
39:13been faithful. They confessed their need
39:16for salvation in verses 32 through the
39:1937. And it's a long read, but there are
39:21three things they asked God save them
39:23from. They said, "Lord, save us from
39:25sin. Save us from slavery. Save us from
39:29ourselves." Note that last one there.
39:31They said, "For all the things you gave
39:33to us, we are now slaves because of us."
39:37I feel like preaching here. We are
39:38[snorts] in this mess because we got
39:40ourselves here. Am I talking to anybody
39:42here? And here's the deal. If God can
39:44save you from yourself,
39:47cuz you know you can do bad all by
39:49yourself, don't you? But if God can save
39:52you from you, if he can save YOU, IS
39:54THERE ANYBODY who needs God just to save
39:56you from yourself? Save me from my
39:58weaknesses. Save me, God, from the love
40:01of my sin.
40:04Can I say it again? SAVE ME GOD FROM THE
40:06LOVE OF MY SIN. THE MOST difficult thing
40:09God has to deliver us from the penalty
40:11of sin. He's got to deliver us from the
40:13presence of sin. Yeah, but but here's
40:15the deal. The penalty of sin get
40:17delivering us from that was easy. It
40:19happened when he went to the cross.
40:21Delivering us from the presence of sin
40:22is easy. It happens when he calls us
40:26home by the rapture. The hardest two
40:28things for him to do is to deliver us
40:30from the power of sin and the pleasure
40:32of sin. Am I talking to anybody here?
40:34And he delivers you from the power of
40:36sin by delivering you from the pleasure
40:39of sin. Lord, I feel like preaching here
40:41because here is the thing. AS LONG AS
40:44YOU FIND PLEASURE IN THE THING, IT IS
40:46always going to have power over you. Am
40:48I talking to anybody? Is there anybody
40:50who want to lift your hand in the house
40:51genuinely and say, "God, deliver me from
40:53the pleasure of my sins. Deliver me from
40:56myself cuz if you just break me, sin can
41:00have no dominion over me. IF YOU JUST
41:03BREAK ME, my God, THAT EX-WIFE CAN have
41:08no power over ME. AM I TALKING TO
41:11ANYBODY IN HERE? DELIVER ME
41:14FROM MYSELF."
41:20Thank you, Lord.
41:22Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord.
41:24But I I like I like that last verse,
41:26verse 38 of chapter 9.
41:30They came TO A DECISION to surrender.
41:35THEY CAME TO A DECISION TO SURRENDER.
41:40After they cried all their tears.
41:43After they shouted for joy.
41:45They decided this is nothing if we don't
41:49surrender
41:50to God. Hallelujah. Oh, I feel the Holy
41:52Ghost here.
41:54Brothers and sisters, I want to
41:55challenge us in this house today. I
41:56decided today that this is not going to
41:57be one of the jumping and shouting. I
41:59want you to hear me. That that that that
42:01that that we must understand this that
42:03repentance WITHOUT A DECISION TO CHANGE
42:08is just empty emotions and emotionalism.
42:11Repentance is only complete when we
42:15through THE GRACE OF GOD DECIDE, "I AM
42:18GOING TO CHANGE SOMETHING ABOUT MY
42:20LIFE." I FEEL THE HOLY GHOST HERE.
42:23YEAH. YEAH. YEAH. We We can get a good
42:26cry. We can get our cry on in the house.
42:29Yeah. Yeah. And if And then we can go to
42:31the other level and we can rejoice and
42:33jump and shout. BUT IT MEANS NOTHING IN
42:36THE CONTEXT OF RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IF
42:39WHEN YOU GO HOME, YOU DON'T GO HOME with
42:40a decision to do things differently.
42:44Uh
42:45Decision. Somebody shout decision
42:47decision decision.
42:49Dan Allender in his book, Leading with a
42:52Limp, he He gave a very sobering
42:54description of the word decide. He said,
42:57quote, "To decide requires death.
43:01A dying to a thousand options. The
43:03putting aside of a legion of
43:05possibilities in order to choose just
43:08one." Everybody shout just one.
43:09Hallelujah.
43:10The root word decidere means to CUT OFF
43:14BECAUSE ALL DECISIONS CUT us off,
43:17separate us from nearly infinite options
43:20as we select just one. Everybody shout
43:22just one.
43:23Just one single path, unquote. What he's
43:26saying to us is we must make a decision
43:29today. Will I live any way that I want
43:33to live? Will I leave this place to
43:35smoke what I want to smoke when I want
43:36to smoke it? To sleep with who I want to
43:38sleep with when I sleep with? To lie and
43:40to cheat and to Am I talking to anybody
43:42here? Am I going to leave to do all of
43:44those things? Or am I going to make a
43:46decision today to choose one way? I feel
43:49the Holy Ghost in here. Am I going to
43:50make a decision to CHOOSE THE PATH OF
43:53RIGHTEOUSNESS? TO CHOOSE THE PATH OF
43:55GOD, WHAT IS YOUR DECISION GOING TO BE
43:57TODAY?
43:58OH.
43:59I can hear Mrs. E. E. Williams
44:03in the in the
44:04uh the early the late 18th century the
44:06early 19th century as she penned the
44:08words of the song as she made her
44:11decision and she wanted everybody to
44:13know she penned these words, quote, "I
44:15have made my choice forever."
44:17Hallelujah.
44:18I will walk with Christ my Lord. Not
44:21from him my soul can sever. While I'm
44:25trusting in his word, I THE LONELY WAY
44:28have taken. ROUGH AND TOILSOME THOUGH it
44:31may be and although despised forsaken,
44:35Jesus, hallelujah, I will go through
44:38with the Is there anybody in this place?
44:41Is there anybody in this house that THAT
44:43IS YOUR DECISION? You're saying, "TODAY
44:45I AM MAKING MY CHOICE NOT JUST FOR
44:48TOMORROW or next week BUT FOREVER
44:51TO WALK WITH THE LORD AND THOUGH NOBODY
44:54ELSE GOES WITH ME, JESUS
44:58IT'S YOU AND I, GOD. It's you and I.
45:00I'll go through with Jesus." Hallelujah.
45:03I feel the Holy Ghost here. And then
45:05some years later Simon Marrock, that
45:07early Indian convert who stood who stood
45:11the loss of his family when he create
45:13when he when he converted to Christian
45:15faith and as they strung him and his
45:18family up and decided, "You better deny
45:21Jesus or we're going to kill you." But
45:23he left the words on record, "I have
45:26decided." Hallelujah. "To follow Jesus.
45:30I have decided to follow Jesus. I have
45:34decided to follow Jesus. NO TURNING
45:38BACK. NO TURNING BACK." AND WHEN THEY
45:41SHOT HIS his wife and his children, HE
45:44SAID, "THE CROSS BEFORE ME,
45:48GOOD GOD FROM ON HIGH. THE CROSS BEFORE
45:51ME, THE WORLD BEHIND ME. NO TURNING
45:56BACK.
45:57IS THAT [clears throat] YOUR DECISION IN
45:59THE HOUSE? DO I HAVE ANYBODY IN THIS
46:01HOUSE RIGHT NOW? I FEEL THE HOLY GHOST.
46:04GET YOUR MIND TOGETHER. GET YOUR HEART
46:07TOGETHER. [snorts]
46:07MAKE YOUR DECISION RIGHT NOW WHILE
46:10YOU'RE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ALMIGHTY
46:11GOD AND TELL JESUS, I'VE DECIDED
46:15TO MAKE JESUS
46:17>> [screaming]
46:18>> JESUS MY CHOICE. THOUGH the road is
46:20rough, THOUGH THE GOING GETS TOUGH,
46:23THOUGH THE HILLS ARE HARD TO CLIMB, but
46:26I started out
46:28A LONG TIME AGO AND I'VE MADE UP I'VE
46:32MADE UP MY MIND. I FEEL THE HOLY GHOST
46:35IN HERE THAT IN JESUS' STRONG ARMS, I
46:38FEEL GOD IN HERE. NO TEMPEST [snorts]
46:40CAN HARM CUZ I HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE
46:44JESUS TO MAKE IS THAT ANYBODY'S CHOICE
46:48IN THE HOUSE? IF THAT'S YOUR CHOICE,
46:50LIFT YOUR HAND IN THE HOUSE. THROW YOUR
46:53HAND UP IN THE AIR AND say Jesus,
46:56it's you and I now. COME ON, THROW YOUR
46:59HAND UP IN THE AIR AND SAY JESUS, IT'S
47:02YOU AND ME NOW. WE ARE WALKING TOGETHER.
47:05I feel GOD IN HERE CUZ I HAVE DECIDED.
47:13SHOUT GLORY in here.
47:15Shout glory IN HERE.
47:17SLAP YOUR NEIGHBOR HIGH FIVE AND SAY
47:20NEIGHBOR,
47:21>> [groaning]
47:21>> I'VE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS. WHAT are
47:24you GOING TO DO? BUT I KNOW WHAT I'M
47:27GOING TO DO. I'M GOING HIS WAY. I'M
47:30WALKING ON HIS PATH CUZ I HAVE DECIDED.
47:32[screaming]
47:37OOH, I FEEL GOOD IN HERE.
47:39I feel good in here. IT WAS ABOUT
47:41HEARING IN THE FIRST SERVICE. GOOD GOD
47:43FROM ON HIGH THAT MY SOUL WAS ON FIRE.
47:45AND GUESS WHAT? IT'S ON FIRE NOW. GOD,
47:48HELP ME. BUT I HAVE DECIDED. WHY DON'T
47:50YOU SHOUT IT ONE LAST TIME IN HERE?
47:53SHOUT IT ONE LAST TIME. SAY, "I HAVE
47:55DECIDED
47:58TO FOLLOW JESUS.
48:00I'll follow him in the good times, and
48:02I'll follow him in the bad times, ON THE
48:05MOUNTAINTOPS
48:06and in the valley low. OH MY GOD, I FEEL
48:09HIM IN THIS PLACE. NO MATTER WHAT COMES,
48:13I WILL FOLLOW [screaming]
48:15JESUS."
48:19SOMEBODY SHOUT, "I'll follow him."
48:22Shout, "I'll follow him."
48:24Shout it till you feel IT INSIDE YOUR
48:25HEART. Till you feel it in your soul.
48:28SAY, "I'LL FOLLOW JESUS."
48:31SAY, "I'LL FOLLOW JESUS.
48:33WHEREVER HE LEADS ME, I'LL FOLLOW HIM.
48:37THAT'S MY DECISION."
48:41WOO!
48:42COME ON, TAKE 30 seconds and praise him
48:44here.

50:01to this altar today and say, "Lord, I
50:04want to make a settled covenant with
50:06you. I I I want to make a settled
50:08covenant with you." Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
50:10Anybody want to come? I WANT TO MAKE A
50:13SETTLED COVENANT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
50:17BEYOND THE EMOTIONS. BEYOND the
50:19feelings. When all the feeling has worn
50:22off, come on up here. When When all the
50:24feeling has worn off, I want to settle
50:26this with you. In chapter 10, they made
50:29a covenant with God to steward to
50:32steward the grace of God to steward the
50:35gift OF GOD. THEY DECIDED, "WE WON'T LET
50:38THIS I WEAR OFF. THIS IS NOT THIS IS NOT
50:41BE ANOTHER REVIVAL THAT WEARS OFF. WE'RE
50:44NOT GOING TO GO BACK HOME AND JUST LIVE
50:46THE SAME WAY. WE ARE [snorts] SEALING A
50:48COVENANT. WE'RE GETTING INTO A CONTRACT
50:51WITH GOD. A COVENANT THAT SAID, "WE'LL
50:53BE FAITHFUL TO GOD. WE WILL SERVE GOD.
50:57WE WILL GIVE GOD OUR WHOLE [screaming]

52:18YOU COULD FIX IT, YOU'D FIX IT A LONG
52:20TIME AGO. BUT BRING IT TO JESUS. BRING
52:23HIM YOUR BURDENS. BRING HIM YOUR CARES.
