Summary

Pastor Aaron Batchelor uses the story of the Shunammite woman to illustrate that we must intentionally 'make room' for the supernatural through hospitality, honor, and persistent faith, even in seasons of chaos. He challenges the congregation to believe that small acts of obedience today set the stage for generational miracles and divine restoration tomorrow.

Key points
  • Miracles often begin with small, creative ideas that require making physical or spiritual space for God to work.
  • Chaos and difficulty are not barriers to God's movement; the Shunammite woman built a room during a time of national divide and impending famine.
  • Consistent service and faithfulness in the 'waiting room' of life are acts of faith that prepare us for the eventual manifestation of God's promises.
  • Honor is a vital prerequisite for the supernatural; dishonor and offense can hinder the miraculous works God desires to do in a community.
  • Small acts of obedience (like building a small chamber) can trigger a chain reaction of miracles that sustain a family through multiple generations and seasons of crisis.

Identify one 'small room' you need to build this week - whether that is a commitment to a consistent prayer time, reaching out to honor someone you have overlooked, or sowing a seed toward a vision that seems impossible. Trust that your small act of space-making allows God to deposit His supernatural results.

Reflection questions
  1. What 'impossible' list have you stopped praying for because the timing didn't align with your expectations?
  2. Is there a specific person or authority figure in your life whom you have struggled to honor, and how might that be blocking your own miracle?
  3. The Shunammite woman was 'content' but still made room for the prophet; are you making room for God only when you are in desperate need, or even when you are satisfied?
  4. How can we as a church better cultivate a culture of honoring one another to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit?

0:00But I do believe I have a word. Second
0:02Kings chapter 4. Let's open up our
0:05Bibles to Second Kings chapter 4. And I
0:08want to begin at verse 8. And we're
0:11going to read a familiar passage of
0:13scripture, I believe, to some of you. 2
0:16Kings chapter 4 verse 8-17.
0:20Thank you so much for your hospitality,
0:22love, the room that we have, the basses.
0:25Brother Justin, I give you honor. Thank
0:26you so much for your administration and
0:29helping take care of us with details. I
0:31love you so much, my friend. And uh so
0:34thankful that uh each of you have made
0:36us feel just right back at home. And we
0:40certainly feel at home. 2 Kings chapter
0:434 and verse 8. If you're there, say,
0:44"I'm there."
0:46>> It fell on a day that Elisha passed to
0:50Shunam where there was a great woman. In
0:53other words, a woman of prestige, a
0:55woman of wealth and means, and she
0:58constrained him to eat bread. And so it
1:01was that as oft as he passed by, he
1:05turned in thither to eat bread. And she
1:08said unto her husband, "Behold now, I
1:11perceive that this is a holy man of God,
1:15which passeth by us continually. Let us
1:18make a little chamber, I pray thee, on
1:20the wall. Let us set for him there a
1:23bed, a table, a stool, and a
1:26candlestick. And it shall be when he
1:28comes to us that he shall turn in
1:31thither. And it fell on a day that he
1:34came thither, and he turned into the
1:36chamber, and he lay there. And he said
1:39to Gahhesi, his servant, called the
1:41Shounomite. And when he had called her,
1:44she stood before him. And he said unto
1:46him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast
1:50been careful for us with all this care,
1:53what is to be done for thee, wouldest
1:56thou be spoken for to the king, or to
1:58the captain of the host? And she
2:00answered, I dwell among my own people.
2:04In other words, she said, I'm content.
2:07I'm secure. I'm satisfied. And he said,
2:10what then is to be done for her? And
2:12Gahhesi answered, "Verily, she has no
2:16child and her husband is old." And he
2:19said, "Call her." And when he called
2:21her, she stood in the door. And he said,
2:23"About this season, according to the
2:26time of life, thou shalt embrace a son."
2:30And she said, "No, my lord, thou man of
2:32God, do not lie unto thine
2:34handmaidaden." And the woman conceived
2:37and bare a son at that season that
2:41Elisha had set unto her according to the
2:44time of life. I have a simple word that
2:46I want to preach to somebody here this
2:48morning. I don't know what your
2:50particular circumstance is or season
2:52that you're in, but I do know that this
2:55house is full of needs and desires and
2:58longings for God to do something
3:00supernatural that is above perhaps your
3:03pay grade, your pedigree, your
3:05education. And so this morning, I want
3:08to preach to the cathedral today. Make
3:11room for a miracle.
3:14>> Make room
3:18cuz God is ready to do something big and
3:24great in your life.
3:25>> Hallelujah.
3:27>> I don't know if you recognize this or
3:28not, but God sees everything.
3:32>> And he has seen faith. He has seen
3:35desire. He has seen faithfulness. And
3:38God is about to open up the heavens over
3:40somebody's life that'll be willing to
3:43make room for the supernatural in their
3:46world. If you want it, if you desire it,
3:48if you're ready for it, why don't you
3:50lift your hands one more time? Raise
3:52your voice to heaven and ask this king
3:54of heaven to speak to your spirit this
3:56morning. Heavenly Father, I thank you
3:58for this great assembly of the church. I
4:01pray this [music] morning that there
4:02might be faith that would be mixed with
4:04the word that it would be profitable to
4:07the saving of souls today. That through
4:10the foolishness of preaching, chains
4:13would be broken. that the heavens would
4:15be opened up above us and that signs and
4:18wonders and miracles would follow them
4:22which believe. We can't do anything
4:25without you, Lord. And so, we're asking
4:27that you'd help us to receive the
4:29engrafted word of God this morning. In
4:32Jesus' name we pray. And everybody said,
4:35"Amen." Why don't you turn to two or
4:37three people before you're seated and
4:38just tell them, "Make room for a
4:39miracle.
4:56I want to take you back just for a
4:58moment
4:59five years ago to that dreadful
5:03unexpected year 2020.
5:07seemed like everything was uh shutting
5:09down except Lowe's and Home Depot. I
5:12don't know what
5:14is happening there, but everybody seemed
5:17like 2020 was the year of DIY projects,
5:21[snorts] do-it-yourself projects. And um
5:25it was that particular year while we
5:26were all kind of stuck in homes like you
5:28were and like things were changing and
5:32different and a little scary and
5:34unexpected.
5:36My wife came to me. She's she's the
5:39dreamer. She is a visionary like her
5:41great-grandfather Guy Rome. She has
5:43visions. She has dreams. And she came to
5:45me and she said, "Aaron, I have an
5:48idea." She said, "I believe that we
5:50should do shiplap wall above our
5:53fireplace in the home."
5:56>> A shiplap wall. Now, I don't know if you
5:58know this or not, but I I am a preacher.
6:03>> I am a preacher. I aspire to be like
6:06Jesus, but I am no carpenter. I am a
6:08preacher. And when she said uh we should
6:12do a shiplap wall, the interpretation
6:15there being because I do have that gift
6:17is that you need to learn how to do a
6:19shiplap wall and put that up for us and
6:23uh figure out a way. So being the
6:25beautiful husband that I am stuck in my
6:28house as I was, I said, "Okay, I will do
6:31that shiplap wall even though I have
6:33never ever done it before." And so I
6:36went to the mighty all powerful YouTube
6:39and I watched about a thousand videos on
6:42how to do a shiplap wall. And I went
6:45out, I bought all the wood, I bought all
6:47the supplies. And I would just like to
6:49toot my own horn right now and say I did
6:52an awesome job.
6:54>> I came to testify to this house this
6:56morning that I built a beautiful ship
6:59that still stands to this day. You know
7:01what?
7:04>> Listen, it's up. It's beautiful. It's
7:06amazing. It's wonderful. Never going to
7:09do it again.
7:12I mean, it it was it was difficult. It
7:15was challenging. I got it up there on
7:17the wall. I think in the course of it
7:18all, I only said three curse words, so I
7:20think I was all right.
7:24Christian curse words, you know, that's
7:27>> I got it up, though. A woman came to her
7:30husband one day and she said, "I have an
7:33idea." This was the Old Testament HGTV
7:37uh Make a Room Edition.
7:39And she said, "I have an idea. Let's
7:43build a room. There's this holy man of
7:46God that keeps passing by here, and I
7:49think it'd be so nice if we just built
7:51him a room. Let's get a table. Let's get
7:53a lamp. Let's get a bed. Let's get a
7:54chair. Let's just build it on top of
7:56this wall here. will make a little room
7:59so when he passes by he'll stop in. Now
8:02the Bible doesn't say anything about
8:03what the husband was thinking. I kind of
8:05think I have an idea of what he was
8:07thinking but it doesn't say anything
8:09about that. It just says that this woman
8:11had an idea that she had come up with.
8:13And I want you to understand Cathedral
8:15this morning is that this time is what
8:18they called the chaotic kingdom stage
8:21for the children of Israel. It was
8:23chaotic because the king Solomon has now
8:26died and now the kingdom of Israel has
8:28been divided into the north and the
8:31south and it's provided lots of
8:33opportunities for civil war. It's
8:34provided opportunities for anger and
8:37hatred and evil and all these things are
8:39going back and forth and it's just
8:42chaotic. Israel's not unified. Israel's
8:45not together. They've got different
8:46kings. Some of them are good. A lot of
8:48them are for evil. They're just going
8:50back and forth. And this is the northern
8:54kingdom where we're at this morning
8:56where this woman lived. And on top of
8:58the chaos of the political realm,
9:01there's a famine that's coming. And the
9:03prophet Elisha is going back and forth.
9:06He's going from kingdom to kingdom. He's
9:08talking to kings. He's talking to
9:11commanders. He's visiting the poor. He's
9:13visiting those that are in need. He's
9:16trying to bring a word from God in a
9:19chaotic moment. Cuz how many knows that
9:22in chaotic moments, we definitely need a
9:25word from God.
9:27>> Amen.
9:28>> And so he's going back. He's traveling
9:30back and forth. And the king that's over
9:33the northern chaotic kingdom is a young
9:35man by the name of Jehoram. King
9:38Jehoram. Jehoram is the son of that
9:41wicked King Ahab and that terrible Queen
9:44Jezebel. They're the worst that could
9:47possibly be that you could ever become.
9:49The King Ahab and Queen Jezebel had this
9:53son Jehoram. And he's not really as evil
9:56as Ahab, but he's not as good as King
9:59David. He's kind of got in this middle
10:02area where he did a few things right.
10:05But most of the time he was just a
10:07wicked king and he didn't serve God and
10:10it brought chaos to his kingdom. Which
10:13is why the scripture says that
10:15righteousness exalts a nation. But sin
10:19is a reproach to any people. It was
10:22chaotic and sin was prevalent throughout
10:25all of this and the people were torn.
10:27But I want you to understand this
10:29morning this point that even in the
10:31chaos, this woman said, "I have an
10:35idea." And this is where I need you to
10:37engage your faith this morning with this
10:40word because she said, "I think we ought
10:43to build this holy man a room." It was
10:46like 2020, but it was worse where she
10:49was at. There was a famine coming. There
10:51was chaos in the political scene. There
10:54was a civil war. There was trouble. all
10:57around. But this woman had an idea. Even
11:01in the chaos, she had creativity. She
11:05said, "There is a holy man that's
11:07passing by this way, and I think we
11:11ought to build him a room." I want to
11:13thank God for women with an intuition,
11:16with some creativity, perhaps even in
11:19this room that stir up ideas in chaotic
11:23situations. Ladies, I want to give you
11:25thanks for that today. I want to
11:27appreciate you for having that kind of
11:29faith and creativity. I I want to thank
11:32you cuz sometimes as men, we are
11:36realist. We see all of the things in
11:38black and white and compartmentalize
11:40everything and how much difficulty it's
11:43going to be to try to put it all
11:45together. And you get some woman, you
11:48get somebody in your life that says, "I
11:50have an idea. I think maybe we could
11:54try. And the temptation for all of us is
11:57to say, "Not right now cuz it's chaotic.
12:00Not right now cuz it's problems. Not
12:03right now cuz the job ain't right. The
12:05time ain't right. The money ain't
12:07right." But she says, "I think we ought
12:10to do it."
12:12>> Now, what that little woman and that man
12:15did not know was they were making room
12:19for a miracle.
12:21Oh yes. She didn't see that it was
12:24coming. She didn't say, "I want
12:26something from you." She just came
12:28saying, "Let me let make a little room
12:31for the prophet in my life. Let me make
12:34a little room for the word in my life.
12:37Let me pause for a moment to say that if
12:40any man or woman of God in this house
12:43will simply make a little room for the
12:45word in your life, it'll work. Right.
12:50>> It'll I remember he said, "My word shall
12:53not return to me void, but it will
12:55accomplish in the thing that I sent it
12:58to do." God's word is forever settled in
13:01heaven, which is why it's more than just
13:04a daily habit of reading the word. It is
13:06the very bread of life that'll work for
13:09you if you'll make a little room for the
13:12word.
13:13>> She said, "I want to make a little room
13:15for the supernatural." Can I tell you
13:17that making room for a miracle begins
13:21opening our minds to the realm of
13:23possibilities? It was just a little
13:26room. But be prepared. It's preparing
13:28for a bigger miracle. Don't discount the
13:32day of small ideas. Sometimes a thought
13:36will just pop into your mind. A little
13:38seed, an impression from the Holy Ghost.
13:41Something creative, something new,
13:44something different pops up. And if
13:46you're not careful, we can get so bitter
13:48and discouraged about everything else
13:50around us that we crush these ideas and
13:53we shove them into a drawer and we never
13:56open them again. But we have staunched
13:59and we have hindered the work of God in
14:02our life. When he deposits something,
14:05he's looking for somebody that'll be
14:07faithful in a few things so he can make
14:10you ruler over many things. And before
14:13God opens up bigger things in that book,
14:16in that business, in that finance, then
14:19he's seeing if he can trust you with the
14:21little things that he has already placed
14:23inside of your life. And if you'll be
14:26faithful
14:28>> in the little things, God says, "I can
14:30trust you with bigger things." Don't
14:34discount the day of small ideas cuz they
14:36can lead to big miracles. Don't let fear
14:39rob you of the possibilities. Fear will
14:42always diminish your possibilities. But
14:45faith reveals endless possibilities for
14:48God to work. For my Bible says he is
14:51able to do exceeding abundantly above
14:56all that we can ask or think according
14:58to the power that works within us. In
15:02other words, God has placed an
15:04inheritance inside of us. It's just the
15:07earnest of our expectation, but it's
15:09here. It's a little thing, but if we let
15:11it activate, God says, "I can supersede
15:14whatever you're thinking. Cuz my ways
15:17are not your ways, and my thoughts are
15:19not your thoughts, sayeth the Lord. For
15:21as the heavens are higher than the
15:23earth, so are my ways higher than yours,
15:25and my thoughts higher than yours." What
15:27do you have?
15:30>> Activate the little thing that you've
15:32got. Cuz the Bible says, "He that cometh
15:34to God must believe that he is."
15:37>> You got to believe that he exists. And I
15:39believe that that we're there. We're
15:40there. We believe. We know that he is.
15:42There's no one like our God. We sing
15:43about that. And that he is a rewarder. I
15:47think that's a struggle with our faith
15:49sometimes. We know that he can, but will
15:51he? We know that he's got the power, but
15:54is he? I know that God is there, but is
15:56he here in my home? Is he here in my
15:58life? Is he going to work on my behalf?
16:00But the Bible says he that cometh to God
16:03must believe that he is and that he's a
16:05rewarder. Somebody's got to have a
16:08tenacious faith. Somebody has got to get
16:11a bulldog grip on what God's word has
16:14said can happen and say, "I will not let
16:17go until you bless me. I'm going to hold
16:19on to the word until it comes to pass
16:23cuz you said that it would." And you're
16:25not a man that you should lie. You're
16:27not a son of man that you should repent.
16:30But you're the same yesterday, today,
16:32and forever. And if you said it
16:35yesterday, it's still going to come to
16:37pass today. He is the author and the
16:40finisher. He is the first and the last
16:44of my faith. Clap your hands to the Lord
16:47if you believe that this morning and
16:48know that he's able.
16:55Faith is the substance of things hoped
16:57for. It's the evidence of things not
16:59seen. Yeah, we're kind of crazy that
17:01way.
17:03We're kind of crazy because we don't
17:04always see it, but we can believe it
17:07with faith saying it's going to happen.
17:09Speak those things that are not as
17:11though they were.
17:14>> Yeah. You got to speak those things. You
17:16got to declare those things. It sounds
17:18crazy. It sounds wild. It sounds
17:20fanatical. I was telling the leadership
17:22yesterday and I'm going Can I Everybody
17:24think I look nice? Everybody like Okay,
17:26good. I'm taking this off.
17:31Somebody came up and said, "Well, who
17:32are you?" I said, "I'm Aaron B." So, I
17:33didn't recognize you. You filled out a
17:35little bit.
17:39That's right.
17:41I've been working out. I lift that fork
17:44every day.
17:50I told the church the other day uh or
17:52the leadership uh team the other day
17:55that uh in 2020 I was at the church and
17:57uh early morning prayer and I was
17:59praying just trying to believe God for
18:01uh greater things and expecting God for
18:04miracles. And I wrote a little list.
18:05This is the list. This the original list
18:07right here I wrote down called the
18:08impossible list. I call it the
18:09impossible list because it's so crazy
18:11and wild and it's so big. I just I
18:14looked at it and thought, Lord, there's
18:15no way that I could ever lead the church
18:18into this or do this. 10 campuses,
18:2010,000 people at New Life, and I got
18:23some family that needs saving, and I a
18:25full church in British and a full church
18:26at Gen. I just wrote down 10 impossible
18:29things. And I prayed for it every single
18:31morning. I'd just come early to the
18:33church and among other things I was
18:35praying for, I pulled this list out and
18:36I'd call it before the Lord, but in my
18:38mind, I I was trying to believe, but it
18:40seemed like an impossible list. And it
18:42was one morning in 2020 that the Lord
18:44spoke to me and said, "I want you to
18:46preach it to the church. I want you to
18:48bring it before. Cast the vision. Let
18:49them know what is in your heart and what
18:52I've spoken to you about." And so I got
18:54I was a little fearful, a little afraid.
18:56I prayed about that a few days cuz I
18:58wasn't sure I really wanted to share it
18:59with the church cuz I do have an ego.
19:01And uh I do not want to look foolish. I
19:03don't want to look dumb. I'm just being
19:05honest. I didn't want to look dumb
19:06because I'm trying I'm a young guy. I'm
19:08trying to lead this church and uh it's a
19:10legacy church. wonderful church. I don't
19:12want to look stupid. So, I was like,
19:13"Lord, is this really you?" So, I prayed
19:15through it, but I felt it in my spirit.
19:17I said, "All right." So, I printed off
19:19uh these little boards and uh I came on
19:22a Sunday night and man, I preached it to
19:24the church and uh lo and behold, they
19:26got behind it. They were like, "Yeah."
19:27They were all frothing at the mouth. I
19:29mean, running around the sanctuary,
19:31hanging off the chandeliers. I was like,
19:33"My God, I don't look stupid."
19:37And they received it. It was by faith.
19:39And and God met with us. It was
19:40wonderful. And the very next Sunday,
19:45St. Louis County shut us down and said,
19:46"There's nobody."
19:50And so, we're left in the homes doing
19:52live stream services from our house. I
19:55got a little ticked off at God. I was
19:56like, "I don't know. Maybe in the middle
19:58of, hey, preach this to the church. It
19:59could have dropped to my spirit and oh,
20:01by the way, your county is going to
20:03close everything down, but don't worry,
20:04it's going to get better." He said
20:05nothing like that.
20:10It's like he wanted me to walk out on
20:12faith or something.
20:16>> It was like he expected me to trust him
20:18or something.
20:20It was like God wasn't working on my
20:22timetable and my schedule and the way
20:24that I speak. It was like he was God or
20:27something.
20:30>> Could have told me. Didn't say a word.
20:32And I got in agony. I got a little
20:34depressed to be honest with you. We had
20:36started up a second campus in Jennings.
20:38We had to close that down. I said,
20:39"Well, that's not working." I thought I
20:41was the biggest failure on God's green
20:43earth. I was kind of happy to be stuck
20:44in my home so I could hide away cuz I
20:47felt so foolish. I had just gotten up
20:48and preached this to the church. And I
20:50said, "Well, here's what God's going to
20:51do." And God didn't have uh any of the
20:54kindness to let me know what was about
20:56to happen.
20:58I just had to walk by faith. I had to
21:00trust him in the moments when I couldn't
21:03see him. I had to simply hold on to his
21:05word and I did what he said and the
21:07obedience made a way. And I'd like to
21:09tell you right now cuz God has done some
21:11things for us. All right, we've got
21:13three of those things that have already
21:14been accomplished and done. We we paid
21:16off the church. Our church is full to
21:19capacity. We've got three churches that
21:21we've already planted. We've got two
21:23more that are getting ready to start
21:24this year. God has opened up the door.
21:27He's exploded it. I didn't see it in
21:292020, but what God was speaking to me
21:31was, "You got to make a little room for
21:33me. You got to make a little room. You
21:35got to speak it. You got to talk it. You
21:36got to write it down. You got to take a
21:38step. Even when you can't feel it, you
21:40just got to keep on believing. And I
21:42think there's somebody in this room that
21:44God is speaking to here today that you
21:47felt a little bit of a nudge in your
21:49heart and in your spirit to do something
21:52a little bit different. And maybe it'll
21:54to be deposited into your heart right
21:56now. And the spirit of God is telling
21:58you, you need to step out by faith.
22:01>> Come on. I know South Florida is a
22:02different culture. I know it can be
22:04tough. I know it can be different. I
22:06know you feel like you're attacked on
22:07every side, but you don't know who you
22:09are. And you've forgotten who your God
22:11is, Israel. I need you to know that God
22:14is on your side. And if he's for you,
22:16who can be against you? I need you to
22:19know that there's more for you than are
22:21against you. I need you to know that he
22:23that has called you, he that has called
22:26you, he's going to gift you, he's going
22:28to perform it, he's going to bless you.
22:30He's going to order your steps according
22:32to his word. [cheering]
22:37>> But you got to make room. Somebody say,
22:39"Make room."
22:40>> Make room.
22:40>> We had a You can be seated. My wife had
22:42a a dream of a young couple in our
22:45church. This young couple was helping us
22:48out. powerful, gifted, absolutely loved
22:51them. They were so faithful, loyal, and
22:54uh one particular
22:58desire that they had was for a baby.
23:01They wanted a child. They should have
23:03come and drink the water here,
23:06but that's what they wanted. They wanted
23:08a child. They wanted a baby. And um they
23:12never could. They tried everything. They
23:14tried everything. Went to the doctor. uh
23:18they they tried all the different
23:19avenues. They prayed, they cried, they
23:23fasted and they could not have a child.
23:27And uh so they just kept on believing.
23:31Even though they were heartbreaking,
23:32they kept on working. Even though they
23:35were disappointed, they just kept on
23:37moving forward. My wife had a a dream
23:39one night because she had spoken to them
23:41to not give up. She said, "God is going
23:43to give you a child." She wasn't just
23:45trying to be a motivational speaker. She
23:47had felt something in the Holy Ghost and
23:49she told him, she said, "God is going to
23:51give you a child. You need to believe
23:52that. God is going to give it to you."
23:54And uh so they just held on to that word
23:56of faith. And one night she had a dream
23:58of Lindsay. She was standing there in a
24:01beautiful pink dress. And this beautiful
24:03pink dress, she her belly, well, she was
24:05pregnant. And uh so she was there and
24:09she had this beautiful dream about her.
24:11And so when she woke up, she felt
24:13prompted by the Holy Ghost to go out and
24:15to buy a pink baby dress. She didn't
24:17know if it was going to be a boy or a
24:18girl. She just saw pink in the dream.
24:20And she said, "I believe that God is
24:22going to give him this baby." So she
24:23went out and she got a little pink baby
24:25dress. And uh so she went to Colon and
24:28Lindsay and she handed it to him. And
24:30she said, "Here's the dream that I had.
24:32Here's what I believe God's going to do
24:33for you. I want you to hang this up. And
24:35every time that you look at it, I want
24:37it to be a reminder to you that God has
24:39not forgotten you. that God is going to
24:41bring a child your way.
24:43You're going to have a baby. And through
24:45tears, they believed that. They went to
24:47that and they took that and they hung it
24:49up in their home and they just began to
24:51believe. And month after month, it it
24:54never happened. They they kept on
24:56believing, but it didn't work. Wasn't in
24:57the middle of the service uh one
24:59particular Sunday and I was making a
25:01plea for an offering. We were inviting
25:03people to give to a special project and
25:05so the church could keep on moving
25:06forward. I was inviting them to give and
25:09so people had their commitment papers
25:10and they're writing down the amounts
25:12that they're pledging to give. And in
25:14the middle of all of that, brother Colin
25:16Cresman walked up to me and I've still
25:17got it at home. He handed me a little
25:19sheet of paper with tears in his eyes.
25:21He said, "Pastor," he said, "I want you
25:23to know." He said, "We're already
25:25committed to giving a financial amount."
25:26But he said, "I felt the spirit speak
25:28and impress upon me to write this down
25:31and hand it to you. And I looked at it
25:32and he said, "We are committed to
25:35planting one of those 10 campuses that
25:38God spoke to you about." And he said,
25:40"Pastor," he said, "we'll do whatever
25:42we've got to do to make sure a church is
25:44planted." He said, "We're behind you. We
25:46feel God calling us, and so we're going
25:48to do that." So we prayed together. We
25:50wept together, rejoiced together, and
25:52God began to work in their life in
25:54Wsville. Things began to open up, and
25:57they began to work towards that
25:58direction. And while they were working
26:00in that direction, I'm happy to tell you
26:03that God [snorts] blessed them with a
26:05little baby girl, Eden. She's three
26:07years old this year, she's she's one of
26:10the sweetest things that you've ever
26:12seen, but she ain't the last gift that
26:14God gave to them. God gave them another
26:16child, and now they got a bouncy baby,
26:18beautiful boy in their arms, cuz God's
26:21not a man that he should lie. And he may
26:23come four days late, but he's always on
26:26time. You just got to keep holding on.
26:28You got to keep trusting. You got to
26:30keep walking by faith and knowing that
26:32God is not going to give up on you.
26:37But here's what I want to preach about
26:39this morning is that you got to make
26:40room for a miracle. And one of the
26:42things that I honor about the crushmans
26:44now that they're pastoring a wonderful
26:46church for two years. They got a new
26:48building and they're growing and I thank
26:49God for it. But one of the things that I
26:51want to testify about them is that even
26:53though they had not received what they
26:55were asking for as far as a child in
26:57that moment, it didn't stop them from
26:59working. It didn't stop them from
27:01giving. It didn't stop them from
27:03believing. And through their tears and
27:05their sorrows and their broken heart,
27:07they didn't stop praying. And they
27:08didn't stop fasting and they didn't stop
27:10coming to church and they didn't stop
27:11coming to prayer meeting. They just kept
27:13on serving and leading and worshiping.
27:16What were they doing? What are you
27:18doing? Certainly, it would be all right
27:20with us if you'd sit down for a while
27:22cuz you're hurting and you're broken.
27:24But they said, "No, no, no. I'll tell
27:26you what we're doing is we're making
27:28room for a miracle. I don't know when. I
27:31don't know how. I don't know why God's
27:34decided to work this way, but I'm making
27:36room for a miracle. I'm going to press
27:39my way into his presence until God does
27:42something supernatural. I'm just Why do
27:45you praise that way? Why do you keep
27:47going to church? Why do you keep reading
27:49your Bible? What's the matter with you?
27:52Don't you know you lost your job? Don't
27:54you know you went through the divorce?
27:56Don't you know that you had a baby out
27:57of wedlock? Don't you know your life is
27:59falling apart? What do you do? I'm
28:02making room for God. I'm making room for
28:05a miracle. I've got to have him. And my
28:08life may not look like I wanted you to
28:10right now, but just wait, baby. God's
28:13about to do something.
28:20>> [cheering]
28:21>> What are you doing? I'm making room for
28:23a miracle. Why you worship the way you
28:26do? Why do you preach the way you do? Uh
28:28why do you love the way you do? Cuz I
28:31believe God's not done yet. Uh the half
28:33has not yet been told. Uh he's still
28:36doing something.
28:41Come on, lift your hands to him if you
28:43believe that is greater. If God's going
28:45to do something in your life and you
28:46believe it, lift your hands to him and
28:48say, "Lord, I believe it."
28:55>> Hey, Jesus.
29:03>> Oh,
29:09yeah.
29:11Yeah. Yeah. You can be seated. Am I
29:13right on time?
29:15You all right? You good?
29:17>> All right. I'm hungry, too, so we'll get
29:19lunch together. All right.
29:22It was uh it was in the '9s. Uh I was
29:27young [snorts]
29:29and um I've never had my picture taken
29:32with the president on the golf course,
29:35but but I got close. I want you to know
29:38this. [snorts]
29:39Got close.
29:41It was in the 90s and I was at the
29:43Lambert airport in St. Louis. Mom and
29:46dad had driven us out there. Didn't know
29:47why. We weren't flying anywhere that I
29:49knew of. We didn't take any bags with
29:50us, but we drove out there and we
29:53actually got to walk out on the tarmac.
29:56I mean, they I don't know if they'd let
29:57you do that nowadays, but we walked out
29:58on the tarmac and uh they had the
30:01guardrails all set up. And so, we're
30:03just waiting. I have no idea who we're
30:04waiting on or what we're doing, but
30:06we're just standing there. I'm right up
30:07next to the guardrail. I'm just looking.
30:09And we got this whole crowd of people
30:10and a plane lands and off of the plane
30:15comes President George H. Walker Booth
30:18Booth Bush.
30:22[laughter]
30:23I told you I didn't know who it was at
30:24first. I do now.
30:27And President Bush got off that plane
30:30and he walked down. He was saying hi to
30:32everybody and shaking people's hands and
30:36coming down my row. I couldn't believe
30:39it.
30:42He was walking down. You know what I
30:45did?
30:49I stuck my hand out as far as I could
30:52get it. Ladies and gentlemen, church of
30:54the most high God. He shook my hand.
30:59>> It was this one. I haven't washed it
31:02since.
31:07that hand right there.
31:11I've got that story I'm telling my
31:14children. I'm going to tell my
31:15grandkids too.
31:17Tell people I shook the president's hand
31:19right there. You know what's funny about
31:22that silly simple story is that I would
31:24have never had that story. It never
31:26would have happened unless I would have
31:28stuck my hand out.
31:32Because just because you have a need
31:35doesn't obligate God to move in your
31:37life.
31:39>> Lots of people have needs. They never
31:41get it met.
31:44You know those who had a difference made
31:47in their life and had a supernatural
31:49touch were those who
31:54>> those who didn't care what people were
31:56thinking
31:57>> didn't care about decorum didn't care
32:00about all of the crowd that was pushing
32:02around them they just reached out to
32:04touch blind Barnameus you've got to be
32:07quiet and he cried out all the more
32:11Jesus
32:12Thou son of David,
32:16what are you doing?
32:19>> I'm reaching. This is all I can do right
32:22now. I can't see. I can't know where
32:25he's at right now, but I'm just reaching
32:28cuz I heard he's passing by this way.
32:32And I need to know that he's there.
32:34Peter, what are you doing? Stay in the
32:37boat with the rest of the religious
32:38disciples and Christians. Don't get
32:40crazy. Don't get wild. Don't run around
32:43the church. What's the matter with you?
32:45I'm stepping out of the boat cuz Jesus
32:48is about to pass us by. But I'm not
32:51going to let him pass me by. If it's
32:53you, bid me come, Peter. What are you
32:56doing?
32:59What are you doing? I'm reaching. I'm
33:01reaching. And just about the time his
33:03faith a little started to waver and he
33:06started to go under the waves, what
33:08happened? Jesus reached back. Come on.
33:11Your faith is greater than your failure.
33:14I said your faith is greater than your
33:16failure. You may have messed up a little
33:18bit, but I'm telling you, because you
33:19step out, because you got faith, God's
33:22going to reach his hand down and say, "I
33:24got you, baby. Come on. I got you. I
33:27know that you've been sinking a little
33:28bit, but I'm going to pull you back up.
33:30I'm going to stand you back up." Because
33:32God's grace is greater than our sin. I
33:36said it's greater than our sin. I'm not
33:38a perfect man. Made a whole bunch of
33:40mistakes. But the hand of Jesus.
33:44[applause]
33:46[cheering]
33:46>> If you'll draw nigh to God,
33:50>> he'll draw n. That's Bible. He'll draw
33:53nigh to you. And we sit there waiting
33:55for God. Excuse me, brother. We just sit
33:57there waiting for God just to come.
34:01>> I'm going to move when he comes over
34:02here. It's I'm telling you, it's going
34:03to be amazing. It's going to be great
34:05when he picks me up out of this seat and
34:07he gets my feet going. Wow. It's going
34:09to be amazing. Y'all to wait.
34:13>> Well, you can't. I'm telling you, boy.
34:15When the preacher preaches the right
34:16sermon, that's that's when it's going to
34:18happen for me.
34:20>> When they sing my song, because I'm not
34:22so sure about all these songs, but when
34:24they get my song, boy, watch out. You
34:26better watch.
34:29>> Man, I'm going to dance when the saints
34:31come marching in. I'll dance on the
34:33great speckled bird. If I got a need,
34:35I'm reaching for God. I'm reaching for
34:37something greater. I don't have time to
34:39wait and sit by idally while God comes
34:42through my neighborhood. He's got mail
34:45with my name on it. And I need a miracle
34:47right now. I need a supernatural.
34:52Yeah, call me crazy and radical,
34:54[screaming] but I've got to heaven. I've
34:56got to reach out with my prayer. I've
34:58got to reach out with my faith. I got to
35:01reach out with my praise. He can't pass
35:04me by. [cheering]
35:11>> Oh,
35:13come on. There's a miracle waiting on
35:15somebody in this house right now.
35:17There's a miracle for somebody that'll
35:19make room. Uh there's a Holy Ghost out
35:21pouring on somebody that'll simply say,
35:23"Jesus, come on in. Uh come by my way.
35:26Stop by my house. Uh touch my life. If I
35:29need you,
35:34[applause]
35:38you've been quiet. You not been making a
35:41whole lot of noise. You don't want to
35:42draw attention to yourself. You don't
35:44want to destroy your image. I get it. I
35:47understand it. We're all human and all
35:48been there. But somebody's sitting here
35:50this morning. He's just waiting for you
35:52to make a little bit of a disruption.
35:54It's all right. God's comfortable with
35:56disruptions. You let the little children
35:58come unto me and forbid them not. For
36:00such is the kingdom of heaven. Who
36:02touched me, Lord? Everybody around here.
36:04No. There was somebody who really had
36:06faith that reached out to touch the hymn
36:08of my garment. Hey, who's that shouting
36:11over there? Barnameus. Yeah, bring him
36:13over here. Stop telling him to be quiet.
36:15Get him over here. Come on. Come on over
36:17here, Barnameus. What do you want for me
36:19to do to you? Don't you know, God, I'm
36:20blind. No, no, no, no. What do you want
36:22me to do for you? I want to see. And
36:25then he commanded him to see. And those
36:28blinded eyes were open. Can I tell you,
36:30God's just waiting on a move. He's
36:32waiting for somebody to make room.
36:34>> Hallelujah.
36:39>> Just make room. Just make room a little
36:41bit. Lift your hands right now all over
36:43this place. I feel the Holy Ghost in
36:45this house trying to speak to somebody
36:47here today. Somebody who's desperate,
36:49somebody who's hungry, somebody who's
36:51been waiting, somebody who's been
36:53desiring. Just need to make a little
36:55room.
37:00>> Come on. You got to reach out.
37:11>> Oh, Jesus. Come on. I'm almost done. The
37:14Holy Ghost is here right now, but he's
37:16trying to get somebody. He's trying to
37:17stir somebody's faith up here today to
37:20believe you. We're going to have revival
37:21in 2026. But somebody right now needs a
37:25miracle in your life. You need somebody
37:28greater.
37:51Oh, the musicians want to come. I'm
37:53almost done. I'm almost done this
37:55morning.
38:02>> Let me give you one more. Just one more
38:04secret to making room for the miracle.
38:07Just give me five minutes. I'll be done
38:08here this morning. I'm wrapping up.
38:11Wrapping up.
38:16Got to have that hunger that precedes
38:18the miracle. You got to have that
38:19desire. But can I give you one more that
38:21I think that we've lost sometimes or
38:23maybe we've just let it wayne a little
38:24bit even in our own churches, our own
38:26lives. Honor precedes a miracle.
38:33>> We have got to develop a culture of
38:35honor again.
38:36>> And I'm not just talking about our
38:37leadership. And we should give them
38:38double honor. The Bible says those that
38:40deliver the word and labor among us and
38:42preach. But we ought to honor one
38:44another. In fact, the scripture goes as
38:45far as to say we should outdo one
38:47another.
38:48>> All right?
38:49>> And showing honor.
38:52That ought to be the competition in the
38:53church is who can honor each other the
38:55best.
38:58Honor precedes the miracle. I got Bible
39:01for you. Ephesians 6 says, "Honor your
39:03father and mother."
39:06It's the first commandment with promise.
39:08Young people, you want a ministry. You
39:10want God to move upon your life. You
39:12want a long life,
39:14>> honor mom and dad. You don't know what
39:16they did to me.
39:18>> You don't know what kind of parents they
39:20were. You don't know the absentee
39:22[music] father that I never knew. Honor
39:26your father and mother that it may go
39:29well with you.
39:32>> You leave them in the hands of God, but
39:34you honor them. You let God be the
39:37judge. You let God bring the vengeance.
39:40>> You let God work it out. I'm speaking to
39:42somebody here this morning. But if
39:43you'll show the honor, God will provide
39:45the miracle for you.
39:48>> He'll do things in your life that you
39:50never thought were possible, but because
39:52you honored.
39:53>> That's only one vi B B B B B B B B B B B
39:54B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B
39:54B B B B B B B B Bible verse. Matthew
39:55chapter 10 verse 41. The one who
39:58receives a prophet because he is a
40:00prophet will receive a prophet's reward.
40:03The one who receives a righteous person
40:06because he's a righteous person will
40:07receive a righteous person's reward.
40:10When you honor those that are righteous
40:12and when you honor those who carry the
40:14word of God into your life, you get the
40:17benefit and the blessing because you
40:20decided to honor a man or a woman of
40:22God.
40:25Matthew chapter 6, Jesus went away from
40:28there and he came to his own hometown
40:30and his disciples followed him.
40:34But the Bible says when he came home,
40:35they took offense at him. And Jesus said
40:39to him that to all of them a prophet is
40:41not without honor except in his own
40:44hometown and among his relatives and in
40:47his own household.
40:50And he could do no mighty work there
40:53>> except he laid his hands on a few sick
40:55folk. Now that's always struck me
40:58because if a few sick folk got healed
41:01this morning, we blow our tops. Yes,
41:07>> man. Sister so and so gets healed of a
41:10tumor. We're going to bless God for
41:11that. We'd walk out of here going, "That
41:13was the best service that we've been in
41:15in a while." I'm telling you what, God
41:16healed.
41:18He healed a few sick folk, but what more
41:20could he have done?
41:23>> I wonder what we miss out on the
41:26blessings and the miracles of God
41:29because we didn't make room because we
41:30refused to honor one another. And we're
41:33sitting here worshiping a God who we say
41:35we love, but we see somebody across the
41:38aisle that we don't love.
41:41>> And John say, "You're a liar."
41:44>> S and I y'all love me still, but you're
41:47a liar.
41:48>> If you sit there and say that you love a
41:50God whom you've not seen and you hate a
41:53brother who you can see, the Bible, not
41:56me, the Bible says you've lied. You're
41:58deceiving yourself. What is God looking
42:01for? Honor
42:04when you honor one another.
42:07You know Jesus washed feet. Yeah, he
42:10did. He washed feet.
42:13Well, like to talk about Judas the
42:15betrayer. He washed Jesus uh Judas's
42:17feet. Yes, he did. But he washed
42:20everybody's feet. He washed Peter's feet
42:22who denied him three times. That cursing
42:25sailor, he he washed his feet. He went
42:29down to the other 10 and he washed all
42:31of their feet knowing full well every
42:33one of them was going to run away from
42:34him in the garden of Gethsemane.
42:37You're going to run away from me. James,
42:41I'm going wash your feet. Bartholomew.
42:43You're going to run away from me. Give
42:45me your feet.
42:48What a difference it would make in the
42:51church, in the house of God, if we'd
42:53serve one another. I know you wrote a
42:55post about me on Facebook. He really
42:58didn't. just hypothetical,
43:01but I'm going to wash your feet. What
43:04can I do for you? How can I pray for you
43:06this week?
43:12I know that you don't like the way that
43:13I do it. I know I'm young and ambitious
43:17and impetuous sometimes. And I know you
43:20talked real hurtful to me, and brother
43:21Gillan would never do that.
43:24You hurt me. You wounded. But I love
43:27you. I'm going wash your feet.
43:32What would God do to open up over this
43:35church? I'll tell you what would happen.
43:39These walls couldn't contain.
43:47Listen, I tell New Life right now cuz
43:51our balcony is full. Our house is full.
43:53But I keep telling that church, these
43:55walls will not contain
43:57if we'll but love and honor one another.
44:00Somebody who doesn't look like us. Maybe
44:02a little older, a little wiser, skin's a
44:05little darker, eyes a little more
44:07handsome,
44:09but I honor him. I love him. What would
44:14happen if we honor?
44:17>> Come on, lay down that bitterness. I
44:19didn't feel the I didn't know the Holy
44:21Ghost going to lead this way. But
44:22somebody needs to hear this this
44:23morning. [music] You need to lay down
44:24that bitterness looking at somebody who
44:26seems to be elevated over you. You ought
44:29to thank God for it and say, "Thank you,
44:30God, for blessing that business.
44:33Thank you, God, for giving them that
44:34ministry.
44:37Thank you, God, for giving them that
44:39gift."
44:41>> Thank you, God. Cuz you don't know what
44:44you're doing when you make a little
44:46room. That woman had no idea what she
44:48was doing. She was just building a room
44:49for a prophet cuz she honored him. She
44:51just made a little bit of room. But she
44:53had no idea that God had a [music] baby
44:55coming her way.
44:58Cathedral, there's babies coming your
45:01way. I'm not talking about just the
45:03physical, but there's babies coming your
45:05way.
45:07When you begin to make a room, God's
45:09going to fulfill that desire and that
45:11longing that you've had for revival. Oh
45:13yeah. He's going to open [music] up.
45:15He's going to open up the windows of
45:16heaven over this city in the name of
45:18Jesus. And those babies are going to
45:20come marching through those doors, right
45:21up to this altar, right into that
45:23baptismal tank. They're going to go down
45:25in the name of Jesus. And you're going
45:27to look back and go, "My God, how did we
45:29get here? This doesn't look like the
45:31same coop [music] that it used to. You
45:33know what you were doing back today? You
45:35are making room for a miracle."
45:40Oh,
45:42and when that baby died and it looked
45:44like it was all over, you would have
45:46thought that was the end. But no, Siri,
45:48she went back to that prophet and she
45:51said, "Hey, my son is dead that you
45:53prophesied to me about." And that same
45:56word that brought the baby through her
45:58to life is the same word that came to
46:00that little baby boy. Where was he
46:02laying down at? He was laying in the
46:05room that she had already prepared. He
46:07was already laying in the room of prayer
46:10and praise and love and honor that she
46:13had built a long time ago. And when the
46:16prophetic walked into that room, it
46:18called what was dead back to life. And
46:21that child came to life again.
46:26Miracle after miracle. And it all
46:29started with a little room.
46:34That wasn't the end. Because the prophet
46:35prophesied about a famine that was
46:37coming seven years before it did. And
46:39that woman and her family got out of
46:41dodge and they went to a pl place of
46:43plentiful. They went to a land where
46:45they didn't get affected like the like
46:47the famine. And those others who did not
46:49leave, they went out and they had food
46:50and they were okay and they got out.
46:52Why? There was another miracle. They had
46:54a prophetic forewarning. They had
46:56wisdom. They had knowledge. And the
46:58spirit spoke to them and helped them
47:00foresee trouble that was coming down the
47:02road. and they left miracle upon
47:04miracle. But when they got back to their
47:06home, they realized somebody had taken
47:08their home. Somebody had taken their
47:10land. And you would have thought that it
47:11was all over. But she said, "No, I think
47:13I'm going to go talk to the king about
47:15this." Woo! She walked back into the
47:17palace to talk to the king. And wouldn't
47:19you know it, just about that time, the
47:21servant of Elijah Gahhesi was standing
47:24there before the king telling about a
47:25time whenever there was a woman who made
47:27a little bit of a room [music] for a
47:29prophet and how she wanted a boy and how
47:31that boy came to life because of the
47:34prophet's words. And as he was talking,
47:36that Shounomite woman came walking into
47:38the throne room and Gahesi turned around
47:40and said, "King, you're not going to
47:42believe this, but that's the woman right
47:44there." And that child came to life.
47:48That king was so impressed. He looked at
47:50that woman and said, "My Lord, what can
47:53I do for you?" And she said, "Well,
47:55perfect opportunity." She said, "My land
47:57and my house has been taken." He said,
47:59"Don't you worry about that. You got it
48:01back." He said, "I'm giving you your
48:03house. I'm giving you your land."
48:05Miracle upon miracle upon miracle,
48:07expansion upon expansion. How did it
48:10happen? Where did it start? It started
48:12when the woman made a little.
48:16Don't you despise a day of little
48:18things? Don't you despise that offering
48:20that you put in? Don't you despise that
48:22prayer that you pray, that little
48:24business that you started? Don't you
48:25despise the day of small things because
48:28miracle upon miracle upon miracle? Don't
48:31you despise the day of when you forgave
48:33them of all that they did to you and
48:35everything they said about you? Don't
48:37you despise that day? cuz God sees it.
48:39And it's about to provide a miracle for
48:41you and for this church the likes of
48:43which you have never seen. You've not
48:46begun to see what God
48:52I just wonder in this house if there's
48:55any kind of Shunomite like kind of woman
48:57or man of God who would be willing to
48:59get up from your seat where you're at
49:01right now and come down to the front of
49:03this place and make a little room this
49:05morning for God. If you need a healing,
49:08if you need deliverance, if you need the
49:10Holy Ghost, if you need a supernatural
49:13breakthrough, I wonder if there's
49:15anybody that would come and say, "God, I
49:17don't have much, but I'm going to make a
49:19little room in my life for ministry. I'm
49:21going to make a little room for prayer.
49:24I'm going to make a little room for
49:25faith. Uh, I'm going to make a little
49:27room for love and honor in my life. Cuz
49:30I know that you're not done working on
49:32me. I bring you mistakes and failures
49:34and sins and cares, but I cast them all
49:37upon [music] you. I wonder if there's
49:40anybody in this house that would make a
49:42little room.
49:44I wonder [music] if there's a young man
49:45or a young lady that would make some
49:47room for God to work in your life. I
49:50wonder if there's somebody that would
49:51lay down your [music] hopes and your
49:53dreams and your fears and inhibitions.
49:56And you lay them on this altar and
49:58[music] say, "God, I need a miracle."
