Summary
Pastor Dannie Hood explores the unwavering reliability of God's Word, asserting that God never breaks a promise and is actively working to restore everything that shame and doubt have stolen from His people.
Key points
- •The Word of God is precise and unchanging, functioning like a fixed North Star that provides stability in a world of confusion.
- •God never misses His target; of the thousands of verses in Scripture, every single promise is guaranteed to come to pass in its appointed time.
- •Restoration is a central promise of God, specifically regarding the 'years the locusts have eaten,' where He replaces shame, guilt, and doubt with revival and plenty.
- •Believers are called to stay planted in their local revival and church, trusting that faithfulness produces more fruit than chasing temporary opportunities elsewhere.

Life application
Identify one specific promise from Scripture that you have felt discouraged about, and verbally declare its truth over your situation every morning this week to combat the 'locusts' of doubt and shame.
Reflection questions
- In what areas of your life have you felt like the 'locusts' of shame or disappointment have devoured your harvest?
- How does the precision of God's Word (likened to hitting a bullseye from Pluto) change the way you view your current delays?
- What does it mean for you personally to 'stay planted' in the field where God has currently placed you?
- Are you coming to God 'boldly' as Hebrews suggests, or has disappointment made you timid in your prayers?

0:00to be here be a part and see what the lord is doing in the
0:01goodness of god now i'm going to minister from this thought this morning when will
0:06god break his promise you can make it singular or plural when will god break
0:11his promise or promises i want you to lift your hands to the lord and
0:16ask that question because we are facing a world of questions and confusion
0:22But as you seek the Lord today, I pray that something that we talk about,
0:28something that we minister in the Word of God, can bring you up to a
0:33place of confidence and a reassurance that God doesn't fail. Turn and ask your neighbor,
0:39when will God break His promise or promises? You can do singular or plural. Praise
0:44God. You know, the Bible tells us in Hebrews 4 and 12, for the Word
0:50of God is quick and powerful, sharper than... Then any two-edged sword piercing even to
0:56the dividing asunder of soul and spirit of the joints and marrow and is a
1:01discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that
1:07is not manifest in his sight, but all things are neck and open to the
1:12eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then. That we have a
1:18great high priest which is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God. Let
1:23us hold fast our profession. Is there anybody in this room that is determined you
1:29are not going to let go? You may surrender to God, but you're not giving
1:34up ground. You may submit to the will of the Lord, but you're not going
1:39to subject yourself to the lies of the enemy. There are seducing spirits, there
1:45are doctrines of devils, but you are standing on a sure word of God today.
1:51And that word has not changed. It has great stability and great power. And that's
1:57why he would go on to say, "For we have not an high priest which
2:03cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted
2:09as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly," come boldly, not passive,
2:16but come boldly, not timid, not shy, not bashful, but boldly. Am I
2:21ministering to anybody here that has had to have that moment of desperation
2:27when you didn't have time For even certain etiquette, you had to get into the
2:33presence of the Lord. You were like the woman crawling on the ground, pushing through
2:38and bumping through knees and feet and sandals and dust and dirt to touch the
2:43hem of his garment because you needed a miracle. You needed a big top miracle.
2:48And there's nothing like the presence of the Lord that gets us in a place
2:54where we know what the possibilities are. For somebody here today, you've
2:59been told recently, well, that's just not possible. But 2 Peter 1.19 says,
3:05for we have a more sure word of prophecy. Whereunto ye do well
3:11to take heed as into a light that shines in a dark place
3:17until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts.
3:23In other words, don't stop believing the promises of God as long as there's a
3:28sunrise and a sunset. Don't stop believing the promises of God as long as there
3:33is Polaris prophecy. That's the North Star. It's fixed. It's not going to move. Somebody
3:39in this house today needs to understand that regardless of how much you've moved, God's
3:44not going to move. And his foundation is unshakable and his word is unchanging. And
3:50it makes no difference how much others around you may have compromised or how many
3:55may have their opinion. How many would rise up in the Holy Ghost today and
4:00say, I really don't care about the world's opinion. I'm going to have obedience to
4:05the word of God. I came into this place today because I know that
4:11I can seek His face and I will find it. Ask and it shall be
4:16given. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you. Praise
4:22God. When will God break His promise? Never. Can I get about 10, 15, 20
4:27that'll rise up for a moment and shout at the top of your lungs, never.
4:33I'm not backing down off of my belief. I'm not surrendering the prophecies and
4:39promises of the Lord to my wife, to my family, to my spirit, to the
4:44anointing on me. I believe that God is going to do what He said He
4:50would do. It might not be according to my clock. It might not be according
4:55to my journal. It might not be according to how I mark it off on
5:01the calendar. But on God's schedule is a big top miracle. Amen. I'm
5:07going to keep walking in the word of God. I'm going to keep believing until
5:12I get it. Amen. You may be seated for a moment. Come boldly unto the
5:17throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time
5:22of need. Yet the psalmist said, the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want,
5:28whether it's want or need. God always has the resources. God is the ultimate resource.
5:33I don't know if you came in here with an empty bank account, but God
5:37is your resource. I don't know if you didn't get the promotion on the job
5:42this last week, but God is your resource. I don't know if you've got the
5:46medicine yet that's going to work and they're still experimenting on your body, but the
5:51Lord is my shepherd. I shall not walk. I'm not talking about human hirelings. I'm
5:56not talking about wolves of hell. I'm not talking about predators of darkness. I'm not
6:00talking about car salesmen and those that, now if you're a car salesman, you're a
6:05Holy Ghost filled one. Thought I better throw that parenthetical statement in there in case
6:09somebody walked out of here offended today. I should say earthly, secular, ungodly, unholy,
6:15profane. That will guarantee you one thing, but it ends up doing another. That's not
6:21God. When God gives you a word, you can stand on it, and you can
6:27believe it no matter what, because God doesn't lie. The enemy lies. Everything that comes
6:32out of the mouth of the enemy is a lie. He can't even open his
6:38mouth to speak one truth. There is no shred of evidence in all of history
6:43that the devil has ever told the truth. So if he's telling you you can't
6:47make it, what does that mean? Oh, he must know I'm going to make it
6:52because he really comes at me with opposites. He's telling me a lie, but I'm
6:56standing in the truth. The enemy's trying to tell me that I'm not going to
7:01get it, but I stand on the promises of God that are given to me
7:07according to the word of the Lord. And in Joshua 21 and 43, the Bible
7:12said that the Lord gave all the land unto Israel, which he sware unto their,
7:17to give unto their fathers, and they possessed it. Then the Bible said, and they
7:23dwelt therein. They didn't just get the promise. They possessed the promise. But I
7:28preach to somebody, don't just possess the promise, let it become a permanent
7:34placement in the promise. I'm rooted in revival here at Cathedral of Pentecost
7:40because this is where God put me. You can't pack your bag so
7:46quick and head for some other opportunity when you have been planted in
7:51revival, rooted in a church. That's why there is fruitfulness coming
7:57to your faithfulness because the devil has, oh, I'm feeling something in the Holy Ghost
8:02here. But the devil has come and said, well, now, if you go over here,
8:07I would give you this. But you've kept the church of the living God at
8:11your center. Praise God. I must be hitting something because y'all got quiet. And the
8:16quieter you get, I'm going to keep hitting it. Come on now. Let me tell
8:21you in the Holy Ghost, don't move. Stay planted in revival. Stay anchored. You will
8:26get more fruit if you wait on God than what the devil can give you
8:31in a temporary move. So I'm not going for that field. God put me in
8:37this field. Am I preaching to anybody that can rise up in the Holy Ghost
8:42today and say, I've got a more sure word of prophecy. My prosperity is coming
8:47through obedience. My success is coming through my surrender. My success is coming through my
8:53submission, not only to the will of God, but to the man of God. Because
8:58the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. If I
9:04will do what God tells me to do, He will give me more than the
9:09desires of my heart. He's got a better dream for me. And for some of
9:14you that have been through the nightmare of disappointment, I preach to you that your
9:19God does a better work if you'll let Him put it together. If you'll let
9:24Him continue to develop the supernatural. Don't settle for something that is half done and
9:29half baked, but say, God does. I believe that you are bringing it to pass,
9:34every word, every promise. Praise God. Scripture said that the Lord gave them rest
9:40round about, and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them.
9:46The Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. Then I love this
9:52scripture. The Bible said, there was not ought of any word which the
9:57Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel. Now here's the answer to
10:03your question. When will God break his promise? And the scripture says in
10:09Joshua 21 and 45, all came to pass for a mother that is
10:14still holding on. that that backslider is coming back to the house of God. You
10:20ought to dance with this preacher for a little bit. I'm not just trying to
10:24hype you up, but I do believe there is a Holy Ghost pep rally to
10:28a word that has been given. And if God gave the word, I'm not talking
10:33about human opinion. I'm not talking about wishful thinking that we can all pray over
10:37somebody. I'm talking about if God gave gave you a word. You ought to leap
10:43for joy. You ought to dance and shout. You ought to turn
10:49up the volume of your faith and say, I know God is
10:55going to do everything he said. All came to pass. Praise God.
11:01There are about 31,102 verses in your Bible. 66 books of the Bible, one
11:07author, it's God Almighty. We know there were many human writers, but the Scripture said
11:12in 2 Peter 1, they were all moved on by the Holy Ghost. They didn't
11:16just write it out of their own fictional thinking. It didn't just come from the
11:21imaginations of men. This wasn't just good fiction that would get people in a crowd
11:26somewhere. When God gives you a word, it holds all of the universe. It holds
11:31the world on an invisible axis. that tilts at a perfect 23.4 degrees. If
11:36it tilted too much further to the right or the left,
11:42it frees to death or burn up. But your God is
11:47a God of precision. He's a God of exact. He's a
11:53God of accuracy. He never misses. for somebody that has been disappointed because maybe
11:59it didn't come to pass yet. I wish you'd get on your feet with me
12:04and declare in a prophetic word today that it will come to pass. My God
12:09has not forgotten me. My God has not failed me. I will not fear the
12:14outcome because I know what the outcome is. If I'll just keep walking with him,
12:19if I'll take another step of faith, if I show up to worship God in
12:25another service, I know that my God will keep his word. There failed not ought
12:30of any good thing which the Lord had spoken. It all, it all came to
12:36pass. Be seated for a moment. It's not like the Lord gave you a thousand-piece
12:42puzzle and 200 pieces are missing. And you start fitting it together and going, well,
12:47I guess there are just some fragments of the future that will never come to
12:52pass. No. He hits it every time. He is always on target. As I told
12:56him in the first service, the Greek word for sin in the New Testament is
13:00hamartia, which means to fall short. It's an Olympic moment when they pull the string
13:05on the bow and shoot the arrow and it doesn't even make it to the
13:09target. It falls short because all have come short of the glory of God. That's
13:13sin. If you think God has ever missed the target, let me tell you that
13:19God, from a million miles away, through storm and gale and hurricane force winds, if
13:25he were to shoot the arrow toward a target the size of my fist from
13:31Pluto to the earth, he would hit the center of the center of the center
13:37of the bullseye every time. That's not hyperbole. That's the holiness of the
13:42Lord. Somebody's going to get a hold of this word today to tell the
13:48devil that is questioning you, my God will never break a promise. I may
13:54fail to get it. I may fail to possess it. But my God doesn't
13:59break his word. He's going to bring it to pass. 31,102 verses in
14:05your Bible, if it was 31,101 that came to pass, well, we
14:11might say, well, that's really good. That's actually 99.9968% of the Scripture.
14:17Boy, that's pretty good. No, maybe by human means. We say people
14:23who are given to prognostications and predictions, and so if they got
14:2970% right, they are multi-multi-millionaires. because of their predictive abilities. But that's
14:35not God. God never misses it. Every verse of 31,102 verses of your Bible
14:40crosses every T, dots every I. It comes to pass. And if you stand
14:46on that word, there is an assurance today that you will not fail. But
14:52you're going to have fruit. Lift your hands to the Lord and thank Him
14:58for a moment. God's going to do it. Every word. Every word.
15:04Father, Scripture said in Joel 2 and 21, it said, Fear not, O ye land,
15:10for the Lord will do great things. He's not a God of just the average.
15:15He's not a God of just mediocrity. He's not a God of just leveling the
15:21plane. He's a God that is constantly changing. on the rise look at the graph
15:26of the grace of god in your own life where it takes you higher and
15:31higher because wherever sin abounds grace does much more abound you are standing in the
15:36assurance of that word so he would go on to say he would say be
15:41not afraid ye beasts to the field for the pastures of the wilderness do spring
15:45and the tree beareth her fruit the fig tree and the vine do yield their
15:50strength Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your
15:56God. Be glad in him because he said that God is the one that
16:01hath given you the former reign moderately. Now watch. They were supposed to rejoice
16:07just for what God did in moderation. This is just the average of God,
16:13and I want you to shout unto the Lord with a voice of triumph.
16:19I want you to shout just because you get to come to church on Sunday
16:25morning in the Cathedral of Pentecost and worship the way you do. Nothing holds you
16:30back. Nothing keeps you in reserve. There are no chains that can hold you to
16:36your seat. You're able to shout to the top of your lungs. You're able to
16:42dance and rejoice. You're able to wave your hands in the winds of the Spirit.
16:48That's just what God did moderately. But he said that God will cause to come
16:53down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain in the first
16:58month. Now what that means is that in the spring and in the fall were
17:02the two times that rain would come and usually over about an eight to 12
17:06week period because this was desert land. God would send the rain. He's telling them
17:11the revival that I'm bringing to you is going to be so grand. The agricultural
17:15revival coming to your land is going to produce so much that I'm going to
17:20give you all this rain in the first month. That's what I believe is a
17:26word for the last day church. I believe with all of my heart before the
17:31trumpet of the Lord sounds, when we reach a fullness of the measure of the
17:37stature of Christ, there'll be a little gap between time and eternity where the church
17:42will get 100% of their prayers answered. Everybody that we pray for is going to
17:48be healed. Everybody that we witness to is going to get baptized.
17:54There will be no failure. I believe it is part of the
18:00covenant promise to Abraham that in thee shall all the families of
18:05the earth be blessed. If that's true, every family name on the
18:11planet has to have somebody baptized in the name of Jesus
18:19Somebody's getting ready to feel it in here and you're going, "That's right. Revival's coming
18:24to my family. Revival's coming to my house." People that have never known the Lord
18:30are coming to get baptized. People that have never been filled with the power of
18:35the Holy Ghost are going to be drunk speaking in tongues in this altar because
18:40we have a sure word of prophecy.
18:47Lift your hands and say, "God, I believe it's going to come to pass. This
18:51is not just good religious rhetoric or something that makes me feel emotional in the
18:55moment." Some of you have lived for God too long to be stirred by just
18:59mere emotion. But maybe we ought to get back to the rudiments of our emotions
19:03when we first came to God. It didn't take much for you to shout. It
19:07didn't take but a whisper of the Spirit in the wind. for you to be
19:11moved to a place of prayer. Don't you let the cynicism of this hour, don't
19:17you let the hardness of heart of others that have walked away and mock who
19:23you are, don't you let that hold you back because you are standing on the
19:29word of a God that never breaks his promise. Never breaks his promise. Lift your
19:35hands to the Lord and say, I'm receiving that right now in Jesus' name.
19:42He said, "And I will restore to you," a little bit later, he said, "I
19:48will restore to you the years that the locust and the caterpillar and the canker
19:53worm and the palmer worm have taken from you. I'm going to restore to that
19:59my great army which I sent among you." You know what he said? He said,
20:05"You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied."
20:11He said, "You are going to rejoice in the Lord your God, and my people
20:16shall never be ashamed." These locusts that come flying in, it's like a swarm. Comes
20:22in actually billions of them. They're about two or three inches long, maybe the size
20:27of your index finger, and the wingspan can be three to five inches wide. One
20:32of them is not that intimidating, but literally billions come when they come in a
20:38swarm. And there's four levels of shame that is revealed in this text in Joel
20:43chapter 2. Because they come in as a swarm. It's a swarm of guilt. And
20:49then there is the cutting of the condemnation, and there's the stripping of the shame,
20:53and the devouring of the doubt. Because when these locusts come in, I want you
20:58to imagine with me for a moment as you listen to the buzzing and the
21:03roar. It's like it's a vortex of insects, and their little mandibles are teeth-like and
21:08sharp. And when they come in, they come in as a swarm to begin with.
21:13And then when they hit it, when they hit that crop, the first thing to
21:18do is cut it. And then they strip it. And after they cut it and
21:23strip it, whatever's left, they come in in one more wave and they devour it.
21:29Because that's what shame does. First of all, shame leaves you with an impending doom.
21:34You can't live with confidence. You walk around in a constant shadow of fear. You
21:39live with anxiety. You can't get enough medicine. Come on, I'm preaching to this generation.
21:44I'm telling you there is a hope beyond the medicines of this world. There is
21:49a healing in this house, and I know what the Word of God has promised.
21:53He said, I will restore. God is a God of his word, and he is
21:58a God of restorative power. It isn't just that you're going to recognize what is
22:03wrong. It is that God is going to give transformative power that when you walk
22:08out of here, over the developing weeks, you're going to see some changes. Because it's
22:13not just impending doom, but then it's the stripping of shame. It just strips you
22:19until you're down to nothing. And if that wasn't good enough, it's the cutting and
22:23the insults and the self-deprecation. And it's possible that even some live the physical, literal
22:28cutting of your own flesh because of the pain and your emotion. It's the stripping
22:33and the cutting of condemnation. And then the last thing is the devouring of doubt.
22:38It just leaves nothing. There's nothing left. I don't have any energy left. I don't
22:42have any prayers left. I don't have any worship left. But I preach to somebody
22:47today that the promise of the word of God for the four levels of shame,
22:52for the impending doom, for the condemnation, for the shame, and for the doubt is
22:57that God said, my word is a word that is never broken. And if you
23:02will trust my word today, you will not only be triumphant, but you will be
23:06changed. And when you are changed, the testimony of what God has done will linger
23:12on for the weeks and the months and the days and the years. Am I
23:17preaching to somebody that can lift up your hands and lift up your voice and
23:23begin to say today, today restoration begins. Even if it's just a small leaf, even
23:28if it's just one stalk pushing through the soil, even if it's one leaf on
23:33the brittle winter branches, I'm trusting the Lord today that restoration is
23:39coming and everything that shame has taken from me, revival is
23:45going to give to me. He said revival.
23:51I'm going to have revival. My people will never be ashamed and it shall come
23:55to pass afterward I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons
23:59and your daughters shall prophesy. Your old men shall dream dreams and your young men
24:04shall see visions. And upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will
24:08I pour out my spirit and I will do great wonders in the heavens and
24:13in the earth. fire and blood and pillars of smoke. He said the sun is
24:18going to be turned into darkness and the moon will be turned into blood before
24:24the great and the terrible day of the Lord come. And it shall come to
24:29pass that whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered. For in
24:34Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be delivered as the Lord hath said. as the
24:40Lord has said, not what men said, not the commentaries of the ungodly, but
24:46as the Lord has said and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.
24:52There's a remnant in this house right now as we stand to our feet.
24:58There's a remnant in this house right now. It's a remnant of restoration. It's
25:03a remnant of healing. It's a remnant of emotional breakthrough. So I ask you
25:09again, Does God break his promises? If there's somebody here that's still waiting on
25:15a promise, lift up your left or right hand. Now come on. Come with me,
25:21every one of you. Come with me. We're going to stand under the wings. We're
25:27going to come down under the shadow of the cross. Come with me quick. Bring
25:32that promise with you. And when you come here, I want you to confess to
25:38the Lord. That every promise given by God, every promise established on the word. I'm
25:43not talking about things that are asked to miss. I'm not talking about something if
25:47you ask God to give you a million dollars yesterday, you don't know why you
25:51don't have it today. I'm not talking about that kind of stuff. I'm talking about
25:56stuff that has kept you broken because of people you're trying to reach for in
26:01your family. I'm talking about places in your spirit that have remained barren and you
26:06have prayed for fruitfulness to come. You've lost your joy and the Lord said, I'm
26:11bringing you to a place where you can say, restore unto me the joy of
26:16my salvation. I want you to lift your hands across this place and I want
26:21you to declare whatever that promise is. Blow the dust off of it. Tell
26:27the locusts that have come in with their ominous clouds of doom and
26:32the swarm and the roar of defeat, destruction, and disappointment. Trying to leave
26:38you with nothing but the dust of disappointment, but beyond the barrenness, a
26:44revival, a restoration, a transformation. The Lord said, I will do it.
