Summary
Exploring the parallel between Joseph's arrival in the mysterious land of Egypt and modern humanity's journey through scientific discovery, Pastor Elms emphasizes that God is never surprised by the unknown and remains the sovereign architect of our lives.
Key points
- •Joseph's presence in Egypt before the arrival of his family exemplifies God's strategic placement of His servants in dark or mysterious places to prepare for the future.
- •The mystery and advanced technology of Egypt (pyramids, bronze, incantations) serve as a metaphor for the daunting complexities of modern technology and scientific discovery.
- •Recent scientific observations from the James Webb Space Telescope, such as 'Hubble tension' and 'super voids,' highlight that human understanding of the universe is still incomplete and often humbled by the scale of creation.
- •While the universe may appear vast and 'cold' to some, the Bible reveals it was created with a specific purpose: to provide a home for humanity and a place for God to redeem His people.
- •The Christian response to uncertainty and technological change should not be fear, but a commitment to love, kindness, and spiritual power through the Holy Ghost.

Embrace the unknown this week by trusting that God has already gone ahead of you, just as Joseph was already in Egypt. Rather than withdrawing in fear from difficult environments or new challenges, look for ways to be a vessel of God's love and kindness to those around you.
Reflection questions
- In what ways do you feel like you are 'walking in the dark' in your current season of life, and how does the story of Joseph offer you hope?
- Pastor Elms mentioned that we should not be afraid of new technology or scientific mysteries. How can we balance a love for knowledge with a steadfast faith in God's Word?
- How does the realization that earth is uniquely designed for life change the way you view your daily purpose?
- What 'hush harbors' or 'brush arbors' have you had to find in your life to protect your relationship with God?

0:00graduation as we initiate our next
0:00class. Now these are the names of the
0:02children of Israel which came into
0:05everybody say into Egypt.
0:07>> Into Egypt.
0:08>> Every man and his household came with
0:11Jacob Reuben Simeon Levi Judah
0:13Issachar Zebulun Benjamin Dan
0:16Napali, Gad, Asher, and all the souls
0:20that came out of the loins of Jacob were
0:2370 souls.
0:26And the title of my message, for Joseph
0:30was in Egypt already.
0:35I don't like operating in the dark. It's
0:38always frustrating to me when I'm having
0:41to do something and I don't really
0:43understand what it is I'm doing. I don't
0:45like doing it physically.
0:48When I walk in the dark right now, the
0:50second toe on my right foot right now
0:53bears a bloody mark because I tried to
0:58walk in the dark. And my toe met the leg
1:02of a chair that decided to sing, "I
1:05shall not be. I shall not be moved.
1:09I shall not be. I shall not be moved."
1:11So what? His toe just hid upside my
1:14head. I shall not be I sing solos all
1:19the time. I'll give autographs after
1:21church.
1:23I don't like walking in the dark. I
1:25don't like operating the dark. I don't
1:26like emotional darkness. I don't
1:29appreciate when someone is not
1:30transparent with me. When I feel like
1:32there's no clarity in our relationship,
1:35that they're gaslighting, I guess that's
1:37the big word, or they're playing kind of
1:39emotional uh chess with you and you're
1:42trying to figure out, am I a friend or
1:44not?
1:45what's going on here? It's frustrating
1:47to have to have those kind of
1:49relationships in your life, but
1:51sometimes you're forced to have to work
1:53with people that are going to play you
1:55like a fiddle and you so you've got to
1:57find a way to work with it. Sometimes
1:59it's in your family. Sometimes it's a a
2:02brother or a sister that all of a sudden
2:03goes sideways. Sometimes it's many
2:06things that throw these periods of
2:08darkness upon you. I do not appreciate
2:13uncertainty in my life. Uh because I
2:17have to make decisions whether
2:18uncertainty is there or not. And there
2:21are times I will make decisions that do
2:24not end up very wise because I was doing
2:28my best with incomplete information.
2:33And so this is what the church has been
2:37put on this earth for, to try to help
2:40people walking through mysterious
2:43places, at least have guidelines and
2:47guard rails and anchors, pivot points
2:51whereby they can at least keep their
2:54emotional, spiritual equilibrium. Am I
2:58making any sense?
2:59>> Yes.
3:01The church many times the preacher
3:03throughout history was the most uh
3:05educated man in town. Many times in the
3:09history of America and even around the
3:11globe, people would take their right
3:13written uh letters to the minister so
3:16that they could read it because they did
3:18not have education. And uh many times uh
3:22they stood up and played the power card
3:25because they did have an education to
3:28the manipulation of the masses. This is
3:31why many people today are suspicious of
3:35religion. Now the preacher is not the
3:38most educated person in the house. I've
3:41got doctorates in this house right now
3:44of doctors of in of juristprudence,
3:46doctors of medical practice, doctors of
3:48psychology, doctors of law. We've got
3:51doctors that I pastor. I've got my
3:53master's degree. So, all of you are
3:55supposed to call me Master David.
3:59Whoops. Let me pump the brakes and back
4:01up. In light of the present situation
4:03we're living in today, do not call me
4:05that.
4:08In fact, I think the education system
4:11ought to change the name of that degree
4:12because it's it is a reminder of slavery
4:15and it's evil. So all of you with
4:16master's degree, you're now evil because
4:19you used a name that is evil.
4:22>> So what shall we call it? The dummy
4:24degree. Okay.
4:27>> Isn't it something how words change
4:28meanings through your life and all of a
4:30sudden it used to be the master room in
4:32your house, but now it's evil, so you
4:34got to call it the executive suite.
4:36Here's
4:41my point. Everybody needs to keep a
4:43sense of humor and love everybody in
4:45your sphere. Love them. Love them. Be
4:48kind one to another. Tenderhearted,
4:50forgiving one another, even as God for
4:53Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
4:57For all have sinned.
5:00>> White, black, yellow, red, green, all
5:03have sinned and fallen short of the
5:05glory of God.
5:07>> Amen. I'm not chasing that rabbit.
5:11>> There are many instances in the Bible of
5:13people entering the unknown. But maybe
5:16the most significant place of people
5:19entering the unknown is at the opening
5:22of the book of Exodus.
5:26And we read these succinct,
5:30concise,
5:31and clear words describing all the
5:35families, the sons of Jacob that went
5:38down into Egypt.
5:40And this journey to Egypt is quite
5:43substantial.
5:45Of all the stories in the Bible, there's
5:47no narrative like the narrative of
5:49Joseph.
5:51And so while Joseph is one of the sons
5:56of Jacob whose name has been changed to
5:59Israel,
6:01he is now Israel. And the sons of Israel
6:04are all going to Egypt. They name every
6:07son except one and his name is Joseph.
6:12And the last line of the opening
6:15context, the abstract, if you will, of
6:20Now, see, I just threw a big word out to
6:22all you educated people. Y'all know what
6:25an abstract is, okay? You don't don't
6:27worry. You're not any less intelligent
6:29than everybody else. Okay? But if you
6:32get your graduate degree, you have to
6:34learn about abstracts. Isn't that
6:36something how the higher educated you
6:37get the bigger word like abstract
6:39becomes something? Who knows what an
6:41abstract is? Uh anyway, uh so the
6:45beginning that preamble of the book of
6:47Exodus, it tells us and Joseph was in
6:52Egypt already.
6:54Now let's take a journey in your mind to
6:57Egypt.
6:59Because Egypt is a place like none other
7:02in the world.
7:06It was a land where the technology of
7:10the time
7:12had just discovered the power of making
7:16a hotter fire,
7:18which would enable copper to be fused
7:22with tin,
7:24causing a much more powerful metal to
7:27change the ability to dig.
7:32They learned how to make a hotter fire
7:34by using charcoal which would melt
7:37copper and fuse tin to make bronze. So
7:41now Egypt which is unlike any other of
7:44the world powers
7:46in that most of the world powers won by
7:49the dominance of might.
7:53Egypt
7:54was the awe of the world, not because of
7:58their armies, but because of their
8:01mysteries.
8:05Egypt. When Joseph went down to Egypt
8:09was both a land of incantations,
8:12magicians,
8:14and miracles, if you will,
8:17>> that the seers of that land, the
8:20prophets of that land had already
8:23trafficked in the stars.
8:26When Joseph went down to Egypt, the
8:28pyramids were very old landmarks.
8:33The Sphinx had already been there for
8:35over a thousand years.
8:38>> His museums
8:40were our museums.
8:42And the difference though between our
8:44museums and the museums of Egypt, see
8:48those pyramids in the distance? They're
8:51still astonishing to the greatest
8:54engineering schools that are in the
8:56globe.
8:57Because we can't build a building that
9:00doesn't have a certain amount of sinking
9:03in the foundation of that building as
9:05the years reveal the entropy of the life
9:10on this earth. Gravity pulls down. But
9:14when they study the measurement of the
9:16par pyramids, they have sunk so little
9:19as to make the existence of the pyramids
9:23one of the greatest mysteries
9:26that all the world has ever known.
9:31So, not only was Egypt filled with its
9:36mysteries,
9:37Egypt filled with its wealth and its
9:39influence, it was also a land of great
9:44demonic spiritual activity.
9:49Joseph
9:51had to go to Egypt.
9:53He didn't want to go to Egypt. If you've
9:56read Genesis 33 to Genesis 50, you know
9:59the journey was treacherous and they had
10:02to drag him kicking and screaming the
10:05whole way. And every moment that he was
10:08there, it was as if he had been
10:09abandoned by the God of his father
10:14>> Israel
10:16>> and his greatgrpa
10:19Isaac and his great great grandpa
10:23Abraham.
10:26How dare that I go down into this land
10:29of the mysteries of demonic incantations
10:34and the conjuring of spirits that can
10:37turn staffs into snakes.
10:40The mysteries of Egypt now boggle the
10:43mind of historians.
10:46>> I'm not making this up to make your
10:48attention be held in my hand to grab
10:51you. No, I'm telling you the truth as
10:53your world now knows it.
10:56Joseph had to go. Why? BECAUSE HIS
10:59BROTHERS DESPISED HIM. He was a dreamer
11:02of dreams. He was a seer of visions. And
11:06because of that, they hated him. And
11:07they thought, "We're going to send him
11:08to the darkest, most dangerous, most
11:10damnable place we can ever send him to.
11:13When we're going to sell HIM INTO
11:15SLAVERY AND GET HIM DOWN TO THE DARKNESS
11:17OF ALL UNCERTAINTY, we're sending him to
11:20the fastest caravan
11:23to Egypt.
11:28A famine came in the land.
11:31Little did they know that all of the
11:34trip of sending Joseph into Egypt
11:39was one that they meant for evil. But
11:42God meant it
11:44for good.
11:47>> Those brothers when they finally figured
11:49out that uh they had to go down to Egypt
11:52to get some food because they were
11:54starving and they wanted to feed their
11:55children. They finally get down there
11:58and they discovered that the man in
11:59charge
12:03is their brother.
12:05They thought certainly that because of
12:07what they did to him, he would do the
12:10same to them.
12:12They cowered and crumbled when Joseph
12:15said, "I am Joseph,
12:20your brother."
12:22All my entouragees, my palaces, my wise
12:25counsel, all the people that are around
12:27me, my offices, and my positions
12:31have not removed the fact that I'm still
12:34your brother.
12:38I want to talk about Egypt just for a
12:40moment because I'm preaching to a world
12:42that just church while I know I talk a
12:45lot of history.
12:47I'm not trying to turn you guys into
12:49historians.
12:51I want you to be futurists
12:54and the way you know about where you're
12:56going.
13:01That was good. Elms,
13:04>> you better not ever forget where you
13:07came from.
13:09[applause]
13:13>> I don't care how much you despise your
13:16childhood and you feel like you were
13:17forgotten and abandoned. All of that was
13:20on PURPOSE FOR GOD TO GET YOU SOMEWHERE
13:23THAT WASN'T FILLED WITH damnation and
13:25destination OF OF HURT. HE GAVE YOU YOUR
13:29ROAD mapap to get YOU TO A HIGHER PLACE.
13:33[applause]
13:36>> We sang a song in the church when I was
13:38growing up. Lord, lift me up and let me
13:42stand by faith on heaven's table land. I
13:47thought, what in the world is a table
13:48land? You know, some of our songs have
13:51got some crazy words in them. You may
13:53think they're not, but ask your kids one
13:55day on table land that's just a higher
13:58plateau. None of you Flidians know what
14:00a plateau is. I forgot how how
14:02uninformed Flidians are.
14:05>> A PLATEAU IS A PLACE IN A IN A LARGE
14:08LONG STRETCH OF LAND AND THEN ALL OF A
14:10SUDDEN OUT OF NOWHERE IS THIS THIS
14:13JUTTING LAND THAT GOES UP HUNDREDS AND
14:16THOUSANDS OF FEET AND IT'S FLAT UP
14:19THERE. THEY CALLED THAT the table lamp.
14:23How can I get from here to up there? AND
14:26SO WE WRITE A SONG ABOUT IT. LORD, lift
14:28me up and let me stand by faith on
14:31heaven's table and a higher place that I
14:36have found. Lord, plant my feet on
14:40higher ground.
14:43In February of 2006,
14:46does anybody want to be elevated?
14:50Do you want to walk into where you're
14:51working and realize you're just not
14:53another piece of mud walking through
14:55that place
14:56>> grabbing a paycheck?
14:58>> Is there any of you that are having
14:59office drama that you walk in and have
15:02to wrestle it every day and the only way
15:03you can deal with it is to wake and bake
15:06and you want to walk in there with more
15:07purpose than skunk weed all over you. is
15:10there. I'm talking to people that I
15:12love. People that are real, people that
15:15are trying to make it because they want
15:17to find out I'm more than JUST ANOTHER
15:20MISTAKE WONDERING THIS
15:21>> TERRAIRMA.
15:22>> AMEN.
15:23>> IS THERE ANYBODY [screaming] IN THIS
15:25HOUSE THAT WANTS TO SAY I AM MADE BY GOD
15:29AND I AM NOT A MISTAKE AND I AM NOT JUST
15:32WANDERING THROUGH HAPHAZARDLY
15:33[screaming]
15:35MEANDERING DOWN SOME TRAIL OF TRYING TO
15:38BE [screaming] SOMETHING.
15:40>> [applause]
15:46>> YEAH, THAT'S WHAT I'm preaching to today
15:49because the point that I'm about to give
15:51you is my nerdiness.
15:54Okay. I am afflicted with the love of
15:59history. I love to learn about what was
16:03invented and when it was invented. I
16:06talked to you a few weeks ago when I
16:08preached about the stones of David was
16:11really to get him the sword of victory.
16:13That it wasn't Goliath's sword. It was
16:16always
16:18it was always David's sword. Sometimes
16:22it's your enemy that's going to bring
16:24you your victory. He thought it was his.
16:27It never belonged to him. He bought it.
16:30He sharpened it. He prepared it. He
16:32crafted it. He carried it. He brought it
16:35to you, but the whole time it was your
16:38victory that was in your enemy's hands.
16:41I am not up here preaching. I'm
16:43prophesying in the Holy Ghost that the
16:45Bible is true. Let God be TRUE AND EVERY
16:49MAN BE A LIAR. [applause and cheering]
16:52>> So
16:56hear me.
16:58all of this process when Joseph goes
17:01down there he dreams a dream in the land
17:05of the mysteries but the difference
17:07about the people in the land of the
17:09mysteries Egypt they had a true respect
17:12for the power and the prophecy of dreams
17:16oh in America we think it's just eating
17:18too much pizza sometimes it is you had
17:22pepperoni and jalapeno and you dreamed
17:24all night don't call that god
17:29But sometimes
17:32God talks in dreams. And you don't have
17:34to nod your head. I know you've already
17:36had God dreams.
17:37>> It's not a maybe. It's not a could be.
17:39It it is an it is and is because God
17:42loves you more than you can comprehend.
17:44And he speaks to you with every steeple
17:46you drop by. You can hear a song and out
17:48of nowhere you feel the touch of God.
17:50It's a song you never even thought. You
17:52thought you got drunk to get away from
17:54religion. And in the middle of your
17:55drunkenness, the Holy Ghost walks up and
17:58hugs you. AND YOU SAY, "WHY AM I CRYING
18:01LIKE THE LORD LOVES ME WHILE I'M STILL
18:03IN THIS PLACE OF DRUNKENNESS?" I'LL TELL
18:05YOU WHY. BECAUSE HE DOESN'T GIVE UP
18:08EASY. HE walks right in the middle of
18:10your mess. AND HE SAYS, "I STILL WILL
18:13[screaming] WRAP my arms AROUND YOU AND
18:17DRAW YOU CLOSE UNTO ME. I KNOW when a
18:21sparrow falls TO THE GROUND. AND IF I
18:24KNOW WHEN the sparrow falls on the
18:26ground, HOW MUCH MORE DO I KNOW WHEN
18:29YOU'RE WALKING THROUGH THAT LONELY
18:32PLACE?
18:33[applause]
18:37>> It's amazing how
18:40we walk into an area that is unknown.
18:44And so I am using this as a point and uh
18:48please put on your crash helmet, fasten
18:50your seat belt for the next few moments.
18:53because I'm going to carry you into the
18:56reality of space as we now know it.
18:59I on the Sunday after Christmas 2001,
19:04I entered this pull pit and I preached a
19:06message about the James Webb satellite
19:10telescope or space telescope that had
19:14just taken off on Christmas morning and
19:17it had been delayed. You think it was a
19:19mistaken delay, but I think it was a
19:21spiritual delay because the Lord wanted
19:24to celebrate a little celebration of his
19:25Christmas day. Even though I know he
19:28wasn't born in December, I don't care.
19:30God celebrates all the time. In fact,
19:32all of his holy days are holidays and
19:34they're celebrations. And that's the
19:37reason he's a party animal. And when we
19:39get to heaven, you're going to find out
19:40the funnest man in the room was Jesus
19:42Christ. You when we get to heaven,
19:44you're going to find out he's the most
19:45hilarious person in the room. You know
19:48how you love to be around funny people?
19:50You wait till you get around Jesus. You
19:52will not You're going to wake up and
19:54hurry out of your mansion in glory
19:56because you hear the Lord's doing a
19:57little stand up at seven and you're
19:59going to sto show up for his standup at
20:02seven because on Sunday you're going to
20:04be the object of his show
20:12on Sunday on that on that Saturday
20:14morning Christmas morning.
20:172001.
20:19No, not 2001. 2021.
20:22Did I say 2001 earlier?
20:24>> No, no, no. They couldn't have this back
20:25then. 2021.
20:28They sent by rocket the James Web Space
20:32Telescope, which is known as the JWST,
20:36up into space. It traveled and traveled
20:39and traveled. And while I preached, I
20:41told you the speed it was going. It was
20:43thrusting energy into space to get where
20:46it had to get. But it would travel all
20:48the way from Christmas morning 2021
20:51until July of 22 before it would be
20:55parked almost a million miles from
20:57Earth. Four times the distance of the
21:00moon sits right now the JWST
21:05staring with the most intricate wave
21:08assessing
21:09view systems that men can create. a
21:13mirror made of pure gold that can go not
21:16just looking like the Hubble studying
21:19the photons of space, but it had the
21:22ability to watch waves of space. It
21:25looked at light because light isn't just
21:27photons. Light is waves. Please let me
21:30be a nerd for a moment. Light comes in
21:33many waves and many colors and many
21:35spaces. And every way you hear there,
21:37you listen to your phone, all that is
21:39light waves coming to you. every every
21:42bit of talking. It's light waves. They
21:44call them sound waves, but it's all the
21:46same story. It's waves that journey to
21:49you to get you connected.
21:53And here's what I told you on that
21:56Sunday. Through the years, I will
21:59periodically give you an update because
22:02they proposed that the James Web Space
22:06Telescope was going to show us the
22:07beginning of creation. that it would not
22:10just look far, but it would look deep.
22:13It would be able to journey down the
22:15back street of time
22:18>> and see the big bang.
22:22And I stood up here brazenly
22:25saying, "I'm so excited. No technology
22:30scares me. I love it. I sit with baited
22:33breath with every new invention that
22:35comes saying I'm not a lite saying oh
22:39lord the devil's in it. The devil's in
22:41everything until we get him kicked out
22:43by the name of Jesus Christ.
22:46>> The devil was in that caravan wagon that
22:48they had revival in. So don't be afraid
22:52because you think the devil's in it.
22:53THERE'S ONLY ONE WHO CAN CAST THE DEVIL
22:55OUT AND HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST.
22:58>> [cheering]
22:59>> You can't cast them out by not getting a
23:01cell phone. [applause]
23:03Some of y'all don't have a cell phone
23:04cuz you know the devil's in it. Believe
23:06you me. I want to vouch for you right
23:07now. The devil's in the phone, but go
23:09get one
23:11because one of these days the devil's
23:12getting in the phone book. He's going to
23:13be dialing 911.
23:17>> Y'all don't know what a phone book is.
23:19All you youngsters staring at this crazy
23:21preacher up here thinking, "Well, he's
23:23lost his mind."
23:25>> The phone booth. Is that it? I I'm a
23:27songwriter.
23:29I can write new words to songs. It's in
23:32the booth. It's devil's in the phone
23:34booth. Dialing 911.
23:39So, here's my report. I'm running out of
23:42time.
23:44The Bible says that we have from chapter
23:4733 to chapter 50 of the book of Genesis,
23:50a story about a dreamer who knew that
23:54God walks in mystery land and orders the
24:00day.
24:02that when people were afraid of Egypt
24:05because of all of its mysterious
24:08trafficking with the aliens
24:12of the space,
24:15don't go kooky on me right now, but you
24:19know I'm talking real solid sense if you
24:22know anything about the pyramids. If you
24:24don't, have fun. Go learn them. They are
24:28unbelievable renowned physics that right
24:31now the best physicists in MIT cannot
24:35figure out
24:38the mystery land. The Bible says Joseph
24:44was in Egypt
24:46already.
24:49So, we have all those words about Joseph
24:52and the beginning of Exodus just tells
24:55us he's already there before God's
24:57people have got to walk into this
24:59mystery land, this land of the demonic,
25:02this land of magic, this land of myster.
25:07This land that is powerful not BECAUSE
25:09OF THE MIGHT of its armies, but because
25:12of the gravity of its mysteries.
25:18UNLIKE ANY OTHER KINGDOM IN THE WORLD,
25:20EGYPT. It's distinct.
25:24Yet God sent a servant in the middle of
25:29the mysteries to say,
25:34"I ain't afraid of that."
25:38So, let me just tell you,
25:41we've got all those words about Joseph,
25:43but when it comes to the stars, we've
25:45got five words. He made the stars also.
25:54I would think, God, you could at least
25:56give me a little bit more than that.
25:58But the Bible's not about figuring out
26:01the Andromedon or the spoon or the Aries
26:04or the Virgo or whatever else
26:07mythological,
26:08astrological,
26:10astrology that people chase as if it has
26:13an effect on them.
26:16He's bored with all of that because he
26:18just said, "Let it be."
26:20>> Amen. But science tells us,
26:24not all science, not true science, but a
26:27lot of humanistic science tells us that
26:29religion is a game to control the
26:31masses. And that on this earth, we
26:34really came from a long process of
26:37creation whereby you first started as
26:39just a little module of chemicals that
26:42somehow made its way into being a worm
26:45and then it became a tadpole and then it
26:48became a frog and the tail fell off. No,
26:50the tail didn't fall off because then
26:52you guys became monkeys. I don't know
26:53about your kin folks. I'm not from
26:55monkeys, but you you might be. And so
26:58and then f somehow the tail fell off and
27:01uh and then uh we man started walking up
27:05a little bit more became a two-legged
27:06walking creature. No, no, no, no.
27:11BUT THEY'RE SO SMART THAT IF you're
27:14presenting a biblical worldview in the
27:17world of academia, they look down their
27:19nose and over their glasses as if you
27:22are the ignorant one in the room.
27:25But let's take a trip down truth lane
27:32because what the Hubble telescope has
27:35not revealed, the James Web has revealed
27:40these new words that have come up since
27:432001 as they are 2002 when it finally
27:47got parked and the gold mirrors got
27:49unfolded and it started peering down the
27:51myriads of the halls of time. And now
27:55what used to be known as a Hubble
27:58stableness or stability, it's now known
28:00as a Hubble tension. Hubble tension is
28:03essentially two words that means now
28:05this is the part you got to tighten your
28:07seat belt. Okay, go with me. There's a
28:09physics puzzle that they can't figure
28:12out. A change that's not due uh that is
28:15due to scientific measurement mistakes.
28:20But it wasn't mistakes. It's just
28:23realities that their measurements cannot
28:27explain.
28:29So they've decided since Hubble wasn't
28:31enough and since James Web is not
28:34enough, we've got to create a new obser
28:36observatory. And I will bring you
28:38updates on that as that comes. But it's
28:40called the Nancy Grace Roman Observatory
28:43that they believe might solve some of
28:45these conundrums that are from what
28:48they're learning from the James Web.
28:50Remember dark matter? You ever heard of
28:52dark matter? It's like like 80%. My
28:56numbers are wrong, but it's some huge
28:58percentage of all of the universe. They
29:01know the part they understand and then
29:03the part they don't understand they call
29:05dark matter. But since 2002, there's a
29:08new word. It's called dark
29:11flow.
29:13Dark flow is that there's something
29:16pulling us outside of our universe that
29:20is making certain parts go faster than
29:22others. While there was uniformity
29:25everywhere else, there's a certain place
29:27where it's dark flow. And so instead of
29:29world being 4, they look at black holes
29:31and say really it's 2D.
29:35Okay, I know I'm losing myself so I
29:37better get
29:39the James Web had found another thing
29:41that's got two words. is called the cold
29:44spot. Nudge your neighbor and say you
29:46got a cold spot.
29:50>> There's a great portion of our galaxy
29:52that is a certain area that is void.
29:57There's not hardly any celestial bodies
29:59in it abnormally like any other place in
30:02our universe. And it is also
30:04unexplainably
30:07colder than all the rests of the galaxy
30:13and the universe. Forget galaxy, that's
30:15too small of a word. The universe. And
30:18they figured maybe it's not a universe,
30:20it's a polyverse.
30:21Maybe we don't have just one verse.
30:24Maybe there's a lot of verses to this
30:27song.
30:28>> In my father's house are many
30:29dimensions. And if it were not so, I
30:31would have told you. But I go away to
30:33prepare a place for you, that where I
30:35am, there ye may be also
30:40y'all let me be a nerd just a little bit
30:42longer. Okay,
30:45this super void. They've been trying to
30:47figure this cosmic variance and
30:49understand it. And they think that the
30:51anomaly is caused because there is a
30:53universe outside our universe that
30:55bubble bounced and bruised our universe
30:59and it sucked the celestial bodies out
31:01of that place. And the cold spot is just
31:05trying to heal from the bump of a
31:08universe outside our universe.
31:12So, while you're chasing down your tick
31:13tock trauma
31:18>> and you're worried about your Twitter
31:20exised drama
31:23and you're frustrated by that picture
31:25somebody put up on Facebook,
31:28let me tell you what the universe is
31:29going on. There is a God who knows all
31:33things righteous, who's going to make
31:35the high places be brought low, who's
31:37going to bring the low places up high.
31:40Justice shall reign like the dew. And
31:43the God of all hope, peace, and power
31:46will stand up. And all of the forgotten
31:48will be reminded that they were
31:50remembered that there was nobody that
31:52was forgotten in God's world because he
31:55is mighty to save. To the utmost. I
31:58don't know if you know what I just said.
32:01TO [screaming] THE UTMOST, JESUS SAVES.
32:04THAT PLACE BEYOND WHAT YOU THOUGHT
32:06ANYBODY COULD REACH. HE GOES THERE. IF I
32:09MADE MY BED IN HELL, HE'S THERE. IF I
32:12SEND THE WINGS OF A DOVE AND FLY TO
32:13HEAVEN, HE'S THERE. IF I RUN TO THE
32:15FURTHEST PARTS OF THE EARTH, [screaming]
32:17HE'S THERE. WHETHER SHALL I FLEE FROM
32:20YOUR SPIRIT, FOR THOU ART WITH ME. THY
32:22ROD AND MY STAFF, THEY COMFORT ME. THOU
32:25PREPAREST a table before me in the
32:27presence OF MINE ENEMIES. MY CUP RUNTH
32:29OVER. Surely thou anointest my head WITH
32:32OIL. SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY UH SHALL
32:36FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS of my life.
32:40>> Amen.
32:42>> You know, they really have tried to
32:44describe the universe and it's so out of
32:46their ability to describe it. They say
32:49that it's possibly the percentages of
32:51you taking a box filled with metal dust
32:53and shaking it and if you shook it long
32:56enough, it would turn into a Rolex
32:58watch.
33:04And yet ignorance, I'm not calling
33:06people names. Ignorance is the lack of
33:09true learning. See, here's the thing
33:11about church. Church is a place where
33:13you grab your knowledge. And I hope
33:14every one of you are knowledge seekers.
33:16Don't be dumb. And I'm not calling names
33:19again. I say this with all due respect.
33:21Don't be dumb in the name of religion.
33:23We're not a religion. We're the people
33:25of God.
33:27>> Okay? Don't pursue ignorance. When they
33:30create and find new things, go and try
33:32to learn it. There was something this
33:34past week that has absolutely blown the
33:37minds of every smart rich person I know.
33:40It started by the name of Claude. It has
33:42now been called Open Claw and it does
33:45the work in a company of 20 people. One
33:49machine can replace 20 people. And the
33:52object is not to take away jobs. It's to
33:55make the people more efficient. And the
33:57people who learn how to use it will be
34:00in irreplaceable to their company. I
34:03pray, oh Lord, somebody in this church
34:04will go and strain their brain for a few
34:06minutes because there's dangers, there's
34:08hiccups, there's speed bumps. But please
34:10don't put let fear paralyze you from
34:13learning all of this stuff that's
34:15happening in the artificial intelligence
34:18world. Because until Jesus comes, the
34:20devil's in everything. [applause]
34:23Don't act like, "Well, bless God, I
34:24can't drive down A1A because that's
34:26where all the bad places are."
34:29>> A1A also gets me to the beach. Okay?
34:32>> Don't say, "I can't buy a certain car
34:34because that car represents hell." No.
34:36Everything represents hell until Jesus
34:39SHOWS UP AND HE COMES BACK TO TAKE OVER.
34:42SO WHAT YOU DO IS DO NOT LET FEAR, HE
34:45HATH NOT given us the spirit of fear,
34:47but of
34:48>> power AND OF
34:50>> LOVE [screaming] AND OF A
34:53>> SOUND MIND. DON'T FORGET ANY PART OF
34:56THAT.
35:00>> They have taken this James Web Space
35:02Telescope and they've realized that the
35:05universe is
35:07boring.
35:10Now, I love if you've never seen Hubble
35:12at IMAX, you need to go see Hubble.
35:15You'll cry at the end of it. I can't see
35:17it ever without shedding a tear at the
35:18end of watching Hubble. Call me crazy.
35:21Call me cray cray. Just call me gone
35:23when the trumpet sounds
35:25>> because I am in such awe of the breadth
35:28and the depth and the height and the
35:29width of his creation. And the Bible
35:32just gives it five words. He made all of
35:34that also because he's more
35:38he's more in love with you than he cares
35:42a bit about a galaxy that they just
35:45discovered.
35:47>> Here's what they say about the universe.
35:50They know that the life when you breathe
35:53in, you breathe in H2O. Once again, come
35:55with me to biology class. All right? You
35:57breathe in H2O. When you breathe out,
36:00what do you breathe out?
36:02carbon
36:04>> dioxide or monoxide or
36:07>> podoxide.
36:09>> I've got special understandings.
36:13>> And you know what that does? It causes a
36:15tension in our atmosphere. And there's a
36:18an eb and a flow through that tension at
36:20all times. The trees love to breathe
36:23carbon dioxide. And they breathe it in.
36:26And you know what? They breathe out
36:27oxygen. And there's this tension, a
36:30sacred, kind tension between the plants
36:33and the people. I love you. I love you.
36:36We feed each other. I love you. I love
36:39you. Every one of you have a green
36:40thumb. You just didn't know it. You love
36:42the plants because they love you every
36:44day you get up. They have worked all
36:46night so you COULD HAVE FRESH OXYGEN TO
36:48BREATHE. BUT THE THING ABOUT THE
36:50ATMOSPHERE of Earth, IT'S UNLIKE ANY
36:52ATMOSPHERE THAT THEY FOUND ANYWHERE IN
36:55ALL THE GALAXIES OF ALL THE CREATION,
36:58THEY CAN'T FIND IT. THEY'RE trying to
37:00They're looking so hard. We were so
37:02ignorant. We thought previously we would
37:04put up ears and we put UP HUGE EARS ON
37:08HIGHEST MOUNTAINS ALL AROUND thinking
37:10that there's going to be life out there
37:11that at least it will talk to us. And we
37:14didn't realize that it's a dangerous
37:16universe out there. Maybe if they are
37:18out there, they're just trying to hide.
37:20They're not trying to be found. We're
37:22the ignorant ones trying TO BE FOUND.
37:25HEY, WE'RE DOWN HERE living because
37:27everything up there is dead.
37:30And the way they know it is because when
37:33there's life on a planet, the atmosphere
37:36shows the sacred tension. When the light
37:39goes through that atmosphere, life
37:42demands parts of light's spectrum. So
37:46when the Hubble zooms in on a planet,
37:49they can tell from its atmosphere if the
37:52sacred stolen light is not in the waves
37:56that they ought to naturally receive.
37:59And if they could find it anywhere, that
38:02would be our first destination. But only
38:04on this planet in ALL OF THE STARS THAT
38:08WE'VE BEEN STARING AT FOR decades
38:11can we find life. Because God said, "I
38:17want a bride and I'm going to make her a
38:19place. And in five years from now, I'm
38:22going to enter this pull pit again." And
38:24when they finished the work of the Nancy
38:29Grace, what's the name of that new
38:30telescope? I know the James Web. They
38:33are about to build this new one. This
38:35Nancy Grace, I think is the name of it.
38:38Telescope. I can't find the name of it.
38:40Hallelujah. Amen. Praise God. There it
38:42is. the Nancy Grace Roman Observatory.
38:45You know what I'll do? I'll come back
38:47and I'll tell you again if they found
38:48life anywhere. Mars has no life. They
38:51get excited. They find any water up
38:52there. Water? What does water say? Oh,
38:56so there's a speck of water.
39:01Okay, it's in the air right here. This
39:04is where all the action is. I'm glad
39:06we're going to the moon. I'm happy we're
39:08going to go to Mars. But at the end of
39:09the day, ladies and gentlemen, the only
39:11thing that matters is Jesus came for
39:14people
39:15>> to save them from their sins. The
39:19pillars of our understanding of this
39:21galaxy are crumbling. The big bang says
39:24that they thought they would go and find
39:25the immaturity of the universe as they
39:28looked further back down it. That the
39:30stars would show that they were young
39:32and it's all immature. You know what
39:35they just found recently? They just
39:36found a complete adult galaxy at the
39:40very edge of the beginning of WHAT THEY
39:43THOUGHT EVERYTHING OUGHT TO BE
39:44ADOLESCENT
39:46AND IT'S BREAKING THEIR BRAIN AND
39:48NOBODY'S TALKING ABOUT IT BECAUSE NOW
39:50THEY GOT AN ANSWER FOR ALL THEIR
39:52HOTTINESS WHEN THEY ACTED LIKE THEY HAD
39:54ALL THE SOLUTIONS.
39:58>> I'm calling them in right now. Explain
40:01JD's GSZ140.
40:06THEY CAN'T BECAUSE IT DOESN'T FIT their
40:09narrative of humanistic hottiness.
40:12The universe is boring. The earth is
40:14not. There is a data rot through the
40:17universe and they call it the heat
40:19death. And all we are they say science
40:22declares or not all science because true
40:24science doesn't declare this. There's
40:26this juxtaposition between science and
40:28philosophy and people dance back and
40:30forth between it. But the essence of it
40:32is is that they say we're just hot meat
40:34dying. That's all we are. We are meat
40:37factories dying. You're just meat. I'm
40:39meat. We're dying and that's our end. So
40:41the best thing you can do is just enjoy
40:43whatever makes you feel good today.
40:45Forget all rules. Forget all aspects of
40:47others. You have no real purpose on
40:49this. You're just endure until you can't
40:51endure anymore. And the only way we're
40:53going to save ourselves is to turn
40:55ourselves into digits.
40:59And the heaviest burden of all in
41:01humanity is the realization that life is
41:03an unchanging script. That your life is
41:05nothing but a roller coaster that will
41:07never end. And that as you peel back the
41:10layers of life like the layers of an
41:11onion, you'll find that after every
41:13layer, you will cry.
41:17And I have the audacity,
41:20the nerve to walk into this pulpit today
41:24with this ancient book
41:27>> and tell you the greatest mysteries that
41:29are unsolved today still reside in the
41:31land of Egypt. And God said, "I will
41:35take my people in the midst of the land
41:37of Egypt and I will place a baby in the
41:40highest echelon of strata. I will
41:44educate him on the greatest knowledge
41:46that all of Egypt would ever have. He
41:49will live in their palaces, ride in
41:52their
41:55chariots,
41:56and eat at their banquet tables. And I
41:59will show you that after he has 40 years
42:02of the best that Egypt could give him,
42:04he would say, "I am not an Egyptian.
42:08Take me to Canaan land. take my bones
42:13out of this land of mysteries because
42:15the God who runs it all is my God. And
42:19while they may build telescopes and look
42:22at space or fuss on Earth about little
42:26memes and little texts and Twitters and
42:29whatever exes, posts and all of that
42:31that happens, I'm going to walk into
42:33this house and say, "For God so loved
42:36the world that he gave his only begotten
42:41son that whosoever believeth on him
42:44would not perish, but would have
42:49Evering.
42:49>> Can you hear yourself say that word?
42:51>> Everlasting.
42:52>> Come on. Will you say that and listen to
42:54yourself say it?
42:56>> Ever
42:58>> lasting.
43:01>> Everlasting
43:05>> life.
43:06He said, "I have come that you may have
43:08life
43:09>> and that you might have it
43:11>> more abundantly." I'm preaching so good
43:13that I'm getting all kind of help from
43:14the kids right now. Isn't it awesome?
43:15They're giving me more help than the
43:17adults. Here's the thing. He also said,
43:20"I am the light
43:24of the world."
43:31>> And so I close today, Sister Helms,
43:33come.
43:35I know I've thrown you a bunch
43:38of everlastings for you to put in your
43:41pocket.
43:44and I've put for you to grab a star
43:48and put it in your purse.
43:51But in the middle of it all, I don't
43:52want you enamored with stard dust
43:56or with information.
43:59I want you to know
44:02that Jesus came
44:05in a world that was enamored with the
44:07technologies of that day as I am the
44:11technologies of this day.
44:13No matter what discoveries you come
44:15across of in my 59 years of being the
44:20number one popular mechanics magazine
44:23reader in the world,
44:26the guy who couldn't help myself but be
44:28wired for engineering.
44:31I can't help myself to get down these
44:33nerd holes. And y'all are so kind as to
44:37listen to me talk about them. I want to
44:40make it very plain.
44:42The answer to it all is really simple.
44:48He come from the highest heavens.
44:52They watched him ascend back into the
44:54heavens.
44:56The angels were in amazement that the
44:58people stood there and stared.
45:01They said, "Why
45:04stand you here gazing?
45:08This same Jesus that you have seen go,
45:13he will come back in the same manner
45:18that you saw him go. So go
45:23terry at Jerusalem
45:25until you be endued
45:28with power from on high. You know why
45:31we're going to talk in tonesues in just
45:32a minute? Some of you who have never
45:34talked [music] in tonesues in your
45:35entire life and you've always thought it
45:37was the gibberish of stupid people. I
45:39want to tell you something. It's heart
45:41language, not head language. I promise
45:43you when I talked in tongues in my head
45:45heard the recording of my heart, I went
45:47home and analyzed it. I mean, one of the
45:49sounds I made when I talked in tonesues
45:51was key. I mean ke.
45:54I wondered in my little mind, did I make
45:57that up? Where did that come from? I had
46:01these sounds come out of my mouth that I
46:02SPOKE JUST LIKE THE BIBLE SAID, "Out of
46:05your innermost being shall flow rivers
46:10of living water."
46:13Okay, so a bunch of people observe
46:15there's no drainage ditches up here. We
46:17ought to have some great drainage
46:19ditches. If everybody's getting the Holy
46:20Ghost in the altar area, I'm just
46:21talking like an engineer, okay? If
46:23there's really water coming out, we
46:24better get a way to get it out of the
46:25house. There's no pipes that I can see.
46:29The Bible spoke immediately after that.
46:30HE SAID, "THIS MAY HE OF THE SPIRIT."
46:36So while everybody thinks they're just
46:38hot meat waiting to entropy,
46:42fold up like a tent
46:45and go into an eternity of oblivion.
46:49Jesus said, "No, love is eternal.
46:55Kindness is forever.
46:58Be ye kind one to another,
47:02tenderhearted,
47:04forgiving one another, even as God for
47:08Christ's sake hath forgiven you. So
47:12Christians walk through and when they
47:13get treated evil, they return good for
47:17evil. When it looks like they've been
47:19pounded down, they stand [music] up.
47:22when they're living as slaves, they go
47:25down and have hush harbor meetings down
47:29by the river. You know why the slaves
47:31had church near the river? Because if
47:35the people of religion found the slaves
47:38worshiping with freedom and power,
47:42they would get them in trouble. And so
47:45they had what was known as hush harbor
47:48meetings. The sound of the river would
47:51cover the sound of their praise. [music]
47:53The white people in America's past who
47:56were not a part of modern-day
47:58Christianity that ordered all the
48:00downtown churches and owned the building
48:02down in the square went to Brush Arbor
48:07meetings. And that's where my family got
48:08the Holy Ghost. You know what Brush
48:10Arbor meant? It meant you're gonna have
48:12rotten tomatoes thrown at you. you're
48:14going to be ma mocked and laughed at
48:15because you're tongue talkers, because
48:17you dance and shout in the Holy Ghost.
48:19And so my great grandpa and my
48:22grandparents went and got the Holy Ghost
48:24in West Texas in a brush harbor OUT
48:27[screaming] FAR AWAY FROM town where a
48:29rancher would allow them to put up a
48:31place sticks and sticks and put brush on
48:34the top and create a place outside WHERE
48:37THEY COULD HAVE church without people
48:39mocking them. So whether your story is
48:42in hush harbors or your story is in
48:45brush harbors or maybe your story is you
48:47just came to God and Pentecost is cool
48:49around the world. I want you to know
48:52it's not about a religion.
48:54>> It's about a reality.
48:58A Jesus who came not to live around you
49:02but to live in you.
