Summary
Pastor David T. Elms explores the parables of Jesus to illustrate how the kingdom of God functions through spiritual growth, patience in the midst of 'tears,' and the absolute lordship of Christ over our hearts and speech.
Key points
- •The kingdom of God operates through spiritual laws of sowing and reaping, where the condition of the heart (the soil) determines the fruitfulness of the Word.
- •Jesus teaches that 'tears' (the children of the wicked one) and 'wheat' (the children of the kingdom) will grow together in the field until the final harvest, and it is not the church's role to root out people prematurely.
- •Kingdom growth is often incernable and slow, like leaven in dough or a tiny mustard seed, but its power is transformative and eventually provides shelter and influence.
- •True discipleship requires moving beyond seeing Jesus only as a Savior who 'bails us out' to making Him the Lord who has the authority to change our ways.
- •The spoken word is a matter of kingdom accountability; believers will be justified or condemned by their words, necessitating a life of self-interrogation and clean speech.

This week, practice 'good cop, bad cop' self-interrogation by honestly assessing your own spiritual fruit and speech, ensuring your words build up others rather than expressing prejudice or vanity.
Reflection questions
- Which of the four soils best describes your heart during this current season of life, and why?
- How can you better trust the 'leavening' process of God in your life when progress feels invisible or slow?
- In what areas of your life are you treating Jesus as a Savior but not yet as your Lord?
- What does it mean for you to personally 'interrogate yourself' before coming to the altar?

0:00can. And I thank the Lord for that.
0:00Well, I'm inviting you to turn to
0:01Matthew the 13th chapter, the 18th
0:04verse. And we are continuing this
0:06series, Questions Jesus asked. And uh he
0:11he his teaching is so remarkable
0:14that um I I'm going to just read quite a
0:17bit of scripture tonight so that you can
0:20get the tone and tenor of his of his
0:23teaching. Uh more than my words, his
0:26words matter. More than my
0:28interpretation of his words, his words
0:31matter. And sometimes we can get verses
0:33and pluck them out that we forget the
0:35rhythm and the tone and the tenor of
0:38what he is trying to say. And so tonight
0:42we are going to go through his teaching
0:46just a little bit. Matthew 13 and we
0:49will begin at verse 18. Hear ye
0:51therefore the parable of the swer. When
0:54anyone heareth the word of the kingdom
0:57and understandeth it not. Okay. When
1:00anybody hears the word and doesn't
1:03understand it about the kingdom of God,
1:06here's what happens. Then cometh the
1:08wicked one and catcheth away that which
1:12was sown in his heart, that is he which
1:17receiveth seed by the wayside. But he
1:21that receiveth the steed in stony
1:23places, the same as he that heareth a
1:26word, and a nonan with joy receiveth it.
1:30Yet that seed does not take root in that
1:36man himself, but durth for a while. It's
1:39there for a little while. It's on the
1:40surface in the soil. But for when
1:42tribulation or persecution ariseth
1:45because of the word, not persecution
1:47because you were mean, not persecution
1:50because your dog decided to do his
1:52business in somebody else's yard, not
1:54persecution that you deserve because you
1:56cut somebody off in the traffic and
1:58really you weren't paying attention, but
2:00now you're mad at them because they're
2:01mad at you. Not that kind of
2:03persecution.
2:05persecution that becomes that comes
2:07because of the word by and by that
2:10individual is offended.
2:13This is Jesus talking. What is the
2:16evidence of this person who by and by is
2:18offended? It is the logistical truth
2:22that the seed fell, the seed began to
2:25grow, but the seed did not take root.
2:28All right. Now Jesus is talking. And he
2:31also that receiveth seed among the
2:33thorns is he that heareth the word of
2:35God. And the care of this world, he
2:38hears the word, he lets it get root in
2:41his life and it grows. The thorns grow
2:45beside it. But here's what takes him
2:47away from the kingdom of God. He serves
2:50God until he gets a good job. He serves
2:52God until he gets a wife. He serves God
2:55until he that wife and him get children.
2:57These are things that riches are called.
3:00the riches of relationship, the riches
3:02of economy, the riches of prosperity, of
3:06children, these things come and blessing
3:09starts to flow. And if that person
3:12doesn't weed out the thorns, that means
3:16the good word has root, but so does the
3:21word, the world, and he becomes
3:24unfruitful
3:26because those things choke the word. In
3:29other words, my kids grades are more
3:31important than go to church on Tuesday
3:33night. Now, I know I'm preaching to
3:34everybody that's here, so you are
3:36already here, but there are a lot of
3:38things that come and say, "Well, you
3:41know what? You I I needed to work extra
3:43tonight." And so, it's the
3:45deceivableness of riches that chokes out
3:49the word. I wanted I wanted to serve
3:52God, but you know, I would serve him as
3:54long as I didn't get my hobby. But now
3:56that I got my hobby, my hobby takes time
3:59and I've got pottery classes on Tuesday
4:03night. Or Tuesday night's when I oil up
4:06my saddles. Or Tuesday night is when I
4:09go and really go to the car show where
4:12the deceivableness of riches starts
4:15taking you away from the love of the
4:17Lord and it chokes out the word and the
4:21and you become what the Bible says,
4:23unfruitful. But he that receiveth seed
4:26in the good ground is he that heareth
4:29the word, understandeth it, and also
4:33bears fruit, and bringeth forth, some
4:38hundfold, some 60, and some 30. All
4:41right, but we're not done. Another
4:44parable put he forth unto them, saying,
4:45The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a
4:47man which seth good seed in his field.
4:50But while men slept, his enemy came and
4:54sowed tears among the wheat
4:58>> and went his way. So the enemy didn't
5:00stick around. He left his seed. And that
5:05but when the blade which sprung up and
5:07brought forth fruit, there appeared the
5:09tears also. So the servants of the
5:12householder came and said unto him,
5:13"Sir, did not thou sow good seed in your
5:17field? Why are there so many tears in
5:20church?
5:27He's talking about the field, okay?
5:30They're in the same field. And he said
5:32unto them, "An enemy has done this." The
5:35servant said unto him, "Wilt thou then
5:38that we go and pull up the tears?"
5:41Jesus said, "No, lest while you gather
5:44up the tears, you also hurt some people
5:49that are the real thing,
5:52you root up also the wheat with them."
5:54Let both come on Sunday morning
5:57together.
6:00Grow until the harvest. Well, some
6:02aren't growing.
6:04I know some aren't growing, but some are
6:07growing. And it's not up to us to go
6:10through and find the way to say not you,
6:13you not you, you, you, you, you, not
6:16you, you. Let them grow together. Are
6:19you with me? Until the harvest, and in
6:23the time of harvest, I will say to the
6:25reapers, gather ye together first the
6:27tears, and bind them in bundles, and to
6:31burn them, but gather the re wheat into
6:34my barn. Another parable put he forth
6:37unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven
6:39is likened unto a grain of mustard seed,
6:41the smallest seed out, which a man took
6:43and swed in his field, and when indeed
6:47it's the least of all seeds. But when it
6:49is grown, it is the greatest among the
6:52herbs, and becometh a tree. What happens
6:55with this little mustard seed? The birds
6:58of the air come and lodge. They're
7:00sheltered in the branches of that which
7:03began by the smallest beginnings.
7:06Another parable spake he unto them. The
7:09kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven,
7:12which a woman took and hid in three
7:14measures of meal till the whole was
7:19leavened. You can't see leaven work. All
7:22you bread makers in this house, you
7:23don't know leaven's working. You just
7:24know if it's in there or if it's not.
7:26When do you know? Not immediately.
7:30There's not a speed limit on Levan. You
7:33can't say, "Levan, you have 30 minutes."
7:35You better do it and leave. Put a towel
7:38over that dough and wait till something
7:40happens.
7:42Hidden, out of sight. You can't say,
7:45"Wow." No. The only way you can say it's
7:47working is it starts little slowly.
7:51Almost incernable.
7:53Almost incernable.
7:55The work of God sometimes is almost in
7:59disccernible.
8:01The enemy wants to tell you it's not
8:03working. And I've come to tell you, God
8:05said the kingdom of heaven is like a
8:07little leaven that's put in the lump and
8:10it covers the whole thing. You don't
8:12know how fast it's going to go, how long
8:14it's going to take. You can't really
8:16discern it, but don't think it's not
8:18powerful.
8:20>> All these things Jesus spake unto the
8:22multitude in parables. and without a
8:24parable spake he not unto them, that it
8:27might be fulfilled which was spoken by
8:28the prophets, saying, I will open my
8:30mouth in parables. I will utter things
8:32which have been kept secret from the
8:33foundation of the word. And uh and then
8:37Jesus sent the multitude away. Okay,
8:39let's let's make it down. It's just us
8:41here. And went into the house. And the
8:44disciples said, "Hey, uh Lord,
8:47we got to figure out this parable of the
8:48tears and the field." So he answered and
8:53said, "He that sweth the good seed,
8:55that's me." He always referred to
8:58himself as the son of man. I'm the one
9:01that swed the good seed. The field is
9:04the world,
9:07not just the church where you work. It's
9:10everywhere. The good seed.
9:14That's you, the children of the kingdom.
9:17You are the good seed. Now, I know
9:19sometimes you're not always feeling so
9:22good, but Jesus said, "You are the good
9:25seed."
9:26So, but the tears are the children of
9:30the wicked one. The enemy that sowed
9:33them is the devil. The harvest is the
9:36end of the world, and the reapers are
9:38the pastors.
9:42This is an old trick. Preachers do it
9:44forever and ever. I'm using it now.
9:47You're supposed to correct me.
9:51The reapers are not the pastors.
9:54The reaper are not the trustees.
9:57The reapers are not the the the
9:59leadership of the church.
10:02>> The reapers are the angels.
10:06>> So when you get frustrated that
10:07something doesn't seem to be getting
10:09reaped,
10:11just wait for the reapers to come. Jesus
10:15is the one saying this. We all feel
10:18frustrated at times. And he said, "The
10:20reapers are the angels. As therefore the
10:22tears are gathered and burned in the
10:24fire, so shall it be at when that mid
10:27year of the of of the theme." No, at the
10:30end of the world.
10:33We have given up on people God has never
10:37given up on.
10:40Aha. Oh Jesus. There are people you
10:44thought are out of God's reach and he's
10:47not done yet.
10:50>> Don't you think for a minute because it
10:52looks like they've sinned against the
10:54Holy Ghost that they've sinned against
10:55the Holy Ghost.
10:58>> Oh no. God doesn't give up. The son of
11:01man shall send forth his angels and they
11:03shall gather out of his kingdom all
11:04things that offend and them which do
11:07iniquity. Okay. Hey, the people that
11:09offends, you know, remember the lesson
11:11on what faith is. It's better if you to
11:15have a a rope tied around your neck and
11:17you thrown out of a a boat into the sea
11:20with a millstone than to offend one of
11:24these little ones. That's talking about
11:25the ones that aren't fully developed,
11:27those that still need diapers, those
11:29that burp. Little ones,
11:32it would be better for you to have a
11:34millstone thrown out. And the Lord said,
11:36"There's coming a day the angels are
11:37going to come and gather those that
11:39offend."
11:41All right? And them which do iniquity,
11:44that's some who don't offend, but they
11:45sneak around in hypocrisy. They think
11:47their sin is sanctioned. No, the angels
11:49got your number, too, or my number if
11:53I'm that. I'm not that. But I'm just
11:55telling you, you can't put yourself
11:57outside of the scope of scripture.
12:01All right? And shall cast them into the
12:03furnace of fire. There shall be whailing
12:05and nashing of teeth. Why shall there be
12:07wailing and nashing of teeth? Because
12:09this fire burns but does not devour
12:12forever. That's how long this fire is.
12:15There's no annihilation of the wicked.
12:17It's a false doctrine. It's not in the
12:20Bible. The Bible said there would be
12:22weeping, weeping, nashing of teeth. The
12:25worm dieth not. The fire is not
12:28quenched. The worm dieth not. He said it
12:31three times. The worm dieth not. What
12:33does that mean? You know a worm that
12:35can't stand three minutes in the sun on
12:37the sidewalk after a rainy day? That's
12:40the worm he's talking about. It can't
12:42stand a little sunshine. But in hell,
12:45the fire will not destroy the worm. It's
12:49not going to destroy the people that are
12:52sent to it. And the Lord took many
12:55different avenues to warn, don't go to
13:00hell. We've got a soft soap generation
13:04who think they can smile them their way
13:06out of anything. But the Bible is very
13:09clear that mercy exists right now. But
13:12if we don't access his mercy while we
13:14can, there will not be mercy later on.
13:18The angels will toss me or you. You
13:22know, I asked my grandma Honeyut when
13:23she was 97 years old. The last time I
13:26talked to her was a little whole
13:28interview and I asked her about how why
13:30why she serves the Lord and she said by
13:33now I'm not going to soft soap it. I
13:35don't I I serve the Lord because I don't
13:37want to go to hell.
13:40I know there are a lot better creative
13:42ways to say it. And I know you
13:44ultimately serve God because you love
13:46the Lord. Okay? Fear is weak. Love is
13:49powerful. If you start by fear that's
13:52all right. If sometimes you stay by
13:55fear, that's all right, too. Sometimes,
13:59even though I love the Lord, sometimes I
14:01just need to stop and realize I could
14:03hit hell tonight.
14:06I preached a message. I was I'm now the
14:08men's leader of of Florida, and I I had
14:11to go to the men's meeting at uh in in
14:14Houston a little while back, and a guy
14:15came up to me who was the men's director
14:18of some state that had been at a camp
14:20that I had preached. I hate to tell
14:21these old man stories, but pardon me for
14:23a moment. He had been at a camp that I
14:26had preached and he said, "Brother Elms,
14:28I just want to thank you for your
14:30preaching." And you know, I like to hear
14:31that stuff. Y'all can stop ne, you know,
14:34however long. Anyway, I it felt good to
14:36hear that. And I I'm trying to stay
14:37humble. You know, act humble, be humble,
14:40because the Lord resists the proud but
14:43gives grace to the humble. And so, I'm
14:45being humble. I thank you so much. He
14:48and you know there's some that I I
14:49normally get comments for uh that I'm
14:52used to getting appreciation that have
14:54stuck with people through the years but
14:56this one kind of shocked me. He said you
14:58know after that camp I backslid and I
15:01went and got all wound up in the world.
15:03I mean I just got deep in the world
15:05after that camp and I was gone from the
15:07Lord for about five years. He said but
15:10all the time I was gone from the Lord
15:13living in my own selfish way. I always
15:16remembered a message you preached at
15:17that camp called Nine Miles to hell.
15:23And the whole premise of that message is
15:25hell from beneath is moved. And I took
15:29the crust of the earth, the average
15:30depth of the crust of the earth is about
15:33nine miles. And I preached about them
15:36drilling a hole down to the middle, the
15:38depths of the core. And when they heard
15:40it, and I don't know the antidote, I
15:42don't know the accuracy of this story.
15:44It was just a that when they heard it,
15:46when they pulled out that pipe, all they
15:48could hear was howls and and and
15:51screaming and screeching sounds. And
15:53somebody said, "I wonder if we just
15:55heard hell." And I told that story and I
15:58said, "Are we nine miles from hell right
16:02now?"
16:03And I said, "When you drive home, look
16:06at your odometer, press the reset
16:08button, and after you've driven nine
16:11miles, right now, people are in hell
16:14right now." That kind of preaching isn't
16:17often preached. It's probably our fault
16:20as preachers, but that young man said
16:22that's what held him those five years he
16:24was backslid. He said, "I'm living for
16:26God. I'm the men's director of my
16:27district right now." He said, ' But I
16:29did it because the whole time I was
16:31gone, when I was high, when I was drunk,
16:34he said, "It didn't matter what sin I
16:36was doing, I was always thinking, I'm
16:38nine miles from hell."
16:43Folks, I don't know if hell is the core
16:46of the earth. I know that uh sister um
16:50Teresa Npalitano just went to Turkey and
16:53she sent me pictures standing at Mount
16:56Ararat with the site uh that satellites
17:00have discovered where they think the ark
17:02is and she's standing there and it's
17:04right behind her and I thought, "Wow,
17:06that's pretty amazing. It almost looks
17:07like rock formations, but it's it's
17:09whatever it is and it's there on Mount
17:12Ararat. All I know is the water that
17:15created the flood is in the earth right
17:19now. Right now it's in the earth. All it
17:23takes is some cataclysmic event to
17:26stretch the magma of the core of this
17:30earth. Just mere feet. And the Bible
17:33tells us it was water from the fountains
17:37of the deep.
17:39Now, God promised he would never do it.
17:41And Sunday morning, there was or I think
17:43it was Sunday morning. Was it Sunday
17:44morning? We saw that rainbow, a full
17:46rainbow coming into church all the way
17:48west here. It was gorgeous. But I
17:51thought, Lord, you're just reminding me
17:52you'll never destroy us by water again.
17:56>> But there's going to be fire next time.
17:59And this fire is not quenched. The worm
18:02dieth not. The fire is not quenched.
18:04Now, what have you noticed about these
18:06teachings of Jesus? Every time he
18:08teaches the kingdom of heaven is like he
18:11always puts an enemy in the story.
18:15There's one that comes in the night to
18:17sew tears among the wheat. There's
18:21another one that comes and steals the
18:23seed that has been proclaimed. There's
18:26always these these forces that are on
18:28the opposition that we've got to be
18:30watching for. And so we have been
18:33teaching this and I could read on but
18:35I'm I'm going to go uh and and let us
18:37see this parable of the wheat was
18:40explained to them. The enemy is the
18:41devil. The harvest is the end of the
18:43world. The reapers are the angel. And
18:46therefore the tears are gathered and
18:48burned in the fire. So shall it be the
18:50end of the earth. The son of man shall
18:53send forth his angels. Here is Jesus. He
18:58hasn't resurrected. He hasn't ascended.
19:02He hasn't been crucified. But he's
19:04letting the disciples know they're my
19:07angels.
19:10Listen, I know a lot of people that
19:12claim they're an angel, but I don't know
19:14many who say that the angels belong to
19:16me.
19:18Jesus is saying, "The Son of Man shall
19:20send forth his angels. The whole troop
19:23works for me. And they shall gather out
19:26of every kingdom, out of his kingdom,
19:28all things that offend. Out of whose
19:30kingdom will the angels pull these
19:32offensive things out of? Out of whose
19:35kingdom? The Lord's kingdom.
19:39Look at the context. It said, "The Son
19:42of man shall send forth his angels, and
19:44they shall gather out of his kingdom all
19:47things that offend and them which do
19:50iniquity."
19:53People think they come to church and
19:54it's safe. No. The church is an
19:57opportunity to crown him Lord of all.
20:01But if you think the church has got to
20:03be the witness to the world, the Bible
20:05says that the angels are going to come
20:06and gather out of his kingdom the things
20:09that offend and the things that work
20:11iniquity. Oh Lord, help me stay clean
20:17and true and honorable. I You're not
20:20lucky that I came here tonight. Oh Lord,
20:22I'm blessed that I can come here and
20:25offer to you my praise. I don't want to
20:29dare ever start thinking, "Well, I made
20:32it once Tuesday night and they're good.
20:34I got it for the month."
20:37>> No. I don't want that spirit to ever get
20:39a part of this church. I want to every
20:42time we walk through this doors, I want
20:44you to lift up holy hands without wrath
20:47and without doubting and say, "Lord, I'm
20:50feeling awesome tonight and I'm thanking
20:52you for everything. I feel good." Or,
20:54"Lord, I come and my head's aching and
20:57my back's screaming, but I've still let
21:00you know. I thank you for being my God
21:03and being my Lord and being my Savior."
21:07So, we've been going through this uh
21:10question Jesus asked. And Jesus, our
21:13first lesson was awakening the flame of
21:16faith where the Lord labeled what faith
21:19looked like and he exposed what doubt
21:21was. Doubt was being caught between two
21:24opinions. It wasn't being afraid. It was
21:27just being indecisive. Uh and so doubt
21:30is something that he exposed. And then
21:33he wanted us to trust him. trust and
21:36obey. Trusting the Lord is not easy.
21:39That's the reason it's called trust. It
21:42It's not sure, but it's a trust that's
21:45sitting there. And uh then it moves us
21:47to action. The second questions Jesus
21:50asked was confronting shadows of
21:53hypocrisy. A person has a lot in the
21:55showcase but doesn't have much in the
21:57warehouse. They say they've got a lot
21:59for sale, but they don't have much to
22:02deliver. That is hypocrisy. people who
22:05are more interested in the approval of
22:07men than the approval of God. The third
22:10week of this question Jesus asked was an
22:13assessment of our giving. It was looking
22:16not money, not just money. Yes, money,
22:19but not just money. He said, don't give
22:22that which is holy unto dogs. Don't cast
22:25your pearl before swine. You've got to
22:28assess what you're holding and who
22:30you're giving it to. I we talked about
22:33how if people don't receive you and
22:36you're teaching the goodness of God and
22:38they don't want to receive it. God
22:40doesn't say sit there and feel bad about
22:42yourself. He says dust your feet and
22:45move to the next person who wants to
22:48receive you. The Lord did not come to
22:50people. He came to the hungry.
22:54>> You say, "Well, he came to everybody."
22:55Oh, he didn't model that. He modeled the
22:59hungry. I have come for them that are
23:01hungry and thirsty after righteousness.
23:03I want to save the whole world, but I'm
23:05going to go unto those who are hungry.
23:08And then he talks about how you you you
23:11you got to look at the context of your
23:13choices. Don't look for grapes among
23:16thorns.
23:18If you're looking for grapes, you don't
23:20look among thorns. If you're looking for
23:22figs, you don't do that among the
23:24thistles. Shall the blind lead the
23:27blind? In other words, we need to
23:29continually assess ourself. These are
23:31not random metaphors, but they are there
23:34to force us to see the static that
23:37exists between the sacred and the
23:40profane. There's this static that's
23:43always there between things that are
23:47holy and things that are unholy, between
23:50that which is profane and that which is
23:52godly. and we are on always bouncing
23:56back and forth. I've been at churches
23:58that want a whole list of things that
24:00they can do and cannot do.
24:02>> That's a weak church.
24:03>> You've got to be under able to discern
24:06between the holy and the profane. If I
24:09don't teach you how to discern, not
24:12what, not name all the magazines you can
24:14read and the magazines you can't read.
24:18No. All the websites you can visit and
24:20the ones you can't. You know that it's
24:23it's it was never the plan of God.
24:25You've got to have the ability to
24:27discern. Walk in a room, sit down a
24:29little while, and realize this might be
24:31a mistake.
24:33>> And learn how to leave that room without
24:35acting like a Pharisee.
24:41>> You're not there to embarrass. You're
24:43there to save yourself from this
24:45untoward generation. If you're surprised
24:47that there's untoward people, then you
24:50don't know what the church is made out
24:51of. Because the church has those that
24:54will offend in it. Did y'all read the
24:58same text I read? The church has those
25:00that work iniquity in it. The Bible said
25:04the pro I mean Paul wrote heresy must
25:07come to the church to show them that are
25:11approved.
25:13Now, if it's open heresy and people are
25:15openly trying to bring a a flaw to the
25:18church, then we will handle that as
25:20openly as they want to be.
25:25If y'all know me, you know I generally
25:27don't have a problem being direct.
25:30It's not something I'm proud of. It's
25:32something I've tried to work on. I want
25:34more diplomacy in my life. I want to be
25:37a diplomat. I want to be kind, patient,
25:41longsuffering,
25:42tender, gentle, you know, the fruits of
25:46the spirit.
25:48>> But if there's someone who thinks they
25:50can walk in here and bring bring
25:53abomination
25:54openly, that's when we will openly
25:57reprove,
25:59rebuke,
26:00exhort with longsuffering,
26:04and with teaching.
26:07The kingdom is sacred. It's made up of
26:10holy things. Pearls and bread and fish
26:13and grapes and figs were the word
26:16pictures the Lord used. The things that
26:19he compared them with were profane and
26:22absurd things like dogs and swine and
26:25stones and serpents and thorns and
26:28thistles. This was what he compared
26:31these things with. And and that the
26:33question that the Lord asked of the
26:34cathedral is do we value the holy things
26:37enough to protect them from that which
26:41will desecrate to how do we do that? You
26:45interrogate
26:46yourself.
26:48>> That's how you do it. It's the justice
26:49series all in one word. Interrogate
26:53yourself. Is it my jurisdiction? Is it
26:55my place? Does this please the Lord? Am
26:58I bringing glory to his name? Am I
27:00bringing a light to the world? A light
27:03not hidden but held up. What kind of And
27:06that's what a prayer service is all
27:08about. Self interrogation.
27:11I mean, sometimes you got to go good
27:13cop, bad cop, all on yourself.
27:19>> How are you doing, David? You love the
27:21Lord.
27:23>> He loves you, too.
27:28Stop it.
27:30You're playing the fool. Straighten up.
27:36But he's sweet. I know. He's go good
27:40cop, bad cop, all on yourself.
27:44That joke. It didn't work very much.
27:51Here's the core of tonight's lesson. Our
27:54fourth lesson is teaching kingdom
27:57culture. the culture of the kingdom.
28:01This is why he said the kingdom shall be
28:02likened unto the kingdom shall be
28:04likened unto because he's trying to get
28:06a culture among his people that realize
28:09we have an enemy and we have options and
28:12we every day have to make sure whether
28:15or not the seed is fallen on good
28:16ground, thorny ground, rocky ground, or
28:19the birds of the air are coming and
28:21taking it away. Who can test you for
28:23that? There is no committee in this
28:25church that can decide what kind of soil
28:27you are. You've got to interrogate
28:30yourself. You got to stop and take an
28:32inventory. How is it going down in me?
28:35And is it producing change? The great
28:37thing about the Holy Ghost is it
28:39transforms people.
28:42>> It's a kingdom that transforms. It means
28:47to live under the canopy of biblical
28:50authority. It's we're not living under a
28:53contract. Will I sign up for one more
28:55six-month period at the church?
28:59I'm going to sign up for another year. I
29:01guess I'll resign up another year. No,
29:03no, no. This isn't contractual. This is
29:06something we miss in America because we
29:09run on a democratic system. And it's a
29:11good one, but it's not perfect. Okay?
29:13There's something about a kingdom means
29:16there's someone in there for life that's
29:18going to watch over the country.
29:21We've got supposedly a government
29:23shutdown tonight. It may affect some
29:25people in our church, but uh honestly,
29:28it's a bigger thing on the news than it
29:30is in the real world. I know it affects
29:33some people that work for the
29:34government, but most people it's going
29:35to be all right. But they they talk
29:37about it like it's a big thing. The
29:38reason they can't get together because
29:40they're all trying to get elected.
29:43>> That's all. It doesn't matter Republican
29:45or Democrat. They go up there and all
29:47they do all all year is raise funds and
29:50try to get erect elected for the next
29:52the next season.
29:54I mean, brother Chamberlain's daddy,
29:57I've got I've already sent him money and
29:58he's got me some more requests for
30:00money. He's trying to get elected
30:03and but at least it says push stop and I
30:06haven't pushed stop yet.
30:09He's just trying to get reelected. It's
30:11what politicians do in America. Our
30:14corporations can't make big mega
30:16decisions because they're living for the
30:18next quarterly report. If you run your
30:21family from quarter to quarter, you
30:23don't have vision. You've got to
30:25understand we have some things we're
30:27going to accomplish. And if we got to
30:29enter a season of sacrifice, then we're
30:31going to tighten our belt. We're going
30:33to put on our crash helmet. And we're
30:34going to all eat beans for as long as it
30:37takes because we've got a bigger picture
30:40that we're going after.
30:43structure. We're not talking about maps
30:45and monarchs or crowns and scepters and
30:47thorns. We're talking about structure to
30:49get somewhere sacrifice. We're not out
30:52trying to listen to some elected
30:53bureaucrat that's always endlessly
30:56negotiating only to get reelected. No,
30:59this kingdom, Jesus said, it's as
31:02portable as a seed, but if you'll let it
31:04grow, it'll shelter the birds of the
31:07air. It is as impacting as levan that
31:10you may not see working but it's doing a
31:13work in people. There's people that it
31:15doesn't seem like this it is affecting
31:18but you keep on praying and keep on
31:20believing and keep on pressing on and
31:22there's a growth that's happening in
31:24them.
31:26Yeah,
31:27>> it is a true
31:30growth. That's kingdom growth. And it
31:34comes by having a king. We worship the
31:38King in this house. We'll never stop
31:40worshiping the Lord. Jesus is Lord. He
31:44is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. If
31:46he says it, that settles it. Then I
31:49believe it. It's not He said it. I
31:52believe it. That settles it. No. No. He
31:55said it. That settles it. I believe it.
31:58He's Lord. He's not waiting for my vote.
32:01He's waiting for me to make him Lord. I
32:05don't need a savior. I need a Lord. I
32:08need a savior. Yes. But that's the
32:10problem. He didn't call us to have a
32:12savior. He called us to make him Lord.
32:15And lordship is different than being
32:17saved.
32:18>> Being saved means I got a bailout. Now I
32:21get to go do whatever I want to do
32:23again. Making him Lord means he bailed
32:26me out. Now I've got to change my ways.
32:30And that's the problem with this world.
32:32The devil hates headship. He's always
32:34against leadership. He's always hating
32:37us. Anybody that'll stand up and say,
32:39"Here's the way. Walk in it." He wants
32:42you to stop and say, "Well, what did the
32:43committee say?"
32:46I mean, imagine if David had to go talk
32:47to the committee of the and the cabinet
32:49of Saul before he could decide whether
32:51or not he was going to fight Goliath. He
32:54put up with the committee of Saul as
32:55long as he could and he said, "Listen,
32:57you can take this armor away from me.
33:00The Lord who delivered me out of the
33:02hands of the lion or out of the mouth of
33:04the lion and out of the claw of the bear
33:06is the same God that's going to deliver
33:08me from this Goliath." And he didn't ask
33:10permission when he drew the sword to cut
33:12Goliath's head off. I know there might
33:14have been some mothers that told their
33:15babies, "Hide your eyes." There might
33:17have been some men that were sitting
33:19around saying, "Maybe you should talk to
33:21the Philistines to see if they're going
33:22to protest for how rugged you treated
33:25Goliath."
33:29Moses didn't do market research on
33:31whether he was going to force everybody
33:33to put blood on their doorpost. Mrs.
33:37Moses was not consulted if to see if the
33:40blood ought to go on the port doorpost.
33:42God said if there's no blood on the
33:45doorpost that the death angel's going to
33:47come in. But if you'll put the blood on
33:49the doorpost, then the death death angel
33:52will pass over.
33:54>> There was no committee that sat around
33:56and said, "But we don't know what that's
33:57going to do to the paint."
34:02Have you considered how many animals
34:03might be hurt?
34:06No. No. No. There was no committee for
34:09that. Joshua, he he should have pulled
34:11the people before deciding to walk
34:13around Jericho for seven days, huh? No.
34:17When you're in a kingdom, the king
34:19decides and he uses a man to convey his
34:22word and then the people follow my
34:26sheep. Know my voice. I know in this
34:30present world that one of the biggest
34:31ways they down someone say, "You're just
34:33a sheep. You're just a bunch of sheep
34:36out there. You can call me sheep all
34:38day. You're not going to offend me. I am
34:40a sheep, but I'm not following you.
34:43I'm following the shepherd. The
34:46shepherd. That's why hell has tried to
34:48emasculate fathers in this culture that
34:50we live in. Turn them into tippid
34:53pushovers who hide in man caves instead
34:56of being the senue and the strength of
34:57the home that could walk in and listen
34:59to the wife who was not taken from his
35:01head to rule over him nor his feet to be
35:03walked on by him but under his side to
35:05be protected by him and walk alongside
35:08him and near his heart to be loved by
35:10him. And the Lord gives a man a woman
35:12and those two become one. And the man
35:15listens to her. The man hears her heart
35:17and the man listens to her appeal. But
35:19at the end of the day, the man decides.
35:26>> And if the woman won't humble herself
35:29and obey, she's not Christian.
35:33Oh, I know I just offended a bunch of
35:35the world. And I don't know how much of
35:37that's in this church, but I'm telling
35:39you what the Bible says, and I'm not
35:41going to change it to soften it for this
35:44generation.
35:45I am not going to ever let some abusive
35:48bungling man who thinks he can have that
35:51power to be a punk to hold on to the
35:54Bible and use it to beat up his kids.
35:56No, no, no, no, no. But when you walk
35:59and lead that home in tears and lead
36:01that home in compassion and lead that
36:03home in wisdom and lead that home by
36:05listening, not just being obnoxious, you
36:09listen and you hear. Then you decide and
36:11we walk in it.
36:15Sometimes you wives can say, "Well, he
36:17didn't do what I asked, but I'm
36:19following."
36:22Lord, you see,
36:25and if you have to do that, that's okay.
36:28You're doing it out of the following of
36:31God's order.
36:33Because here's the great thing about
36:35God. It's like that wife who has a
36:37husband that's not lost. You know what
36:39the Lord told him through his word? He
36:41said, "Do not go beat him up with a
36:43Bible. Don't go constantly preach to
36:45him. You love him. You walk in that way
36:48and you let your life be an example."
36:51Honey, if that's what you say, then
36:52we'll do it. And you buckle in and you
36:55be on the team and you give your best of
36:58what some people who think they're
37:00supposed to be the leader of their
37:00house. You won't keep a husband. Not a
37:03man. You won't keep a man. It was never
37:06the plan of God for the woman to lead.
37:09Women have led because of faulty
37:12manhood.
37:14>> But when a man is prayerful and
37:16spiritual and loving and long-suffering
37:18and tender and gentle and the fruit of
37:21the spirit is born on him, then guess
37:23what happens? A family can walk
37:25together. And you get a man and a woman
37:27who's praying together, standing
37:29together. It's an unstoppable force that
37:32will turn this world upside down.
37:36And hell hates our families. This is the
37:40last night of family month, but hell
37:42hates our families. Makes me so mad that
37:44it seems as if every man depicted by
37:47Hollywood is some man that's just driven
37:49by the lust of his eyes all the time or
37:51a guy that's lazy or some bungling idiot
37:54or some guy that doesn't even know how
37:56to be serious. There seems like, and I
37:58don't know all of them, but seems like
37:59they just love tearing down men.
38:03>> Well, here's what I'm telling you. God
38:06wants to raise up men and women to be
38:09mighty in his kingdom.
38:12>> And when we get to heaven, there won't
38:13be man and woman. We'll be known as we
38:16were known. Uh you'll know that I was a
38:18man on earth, but there it won't be
38:20normal. That's what Jesus told the
38:22people who were asking who shall she be
38:24in the resurrection. She'd been married
38:26five times. Well, it's an amazing
38:27assumption that she's going to heaven.
38:34who shall she be in the resurrection?
38:37And the Lord said, "Listen, guys, y'all
38:38don't understand that kingdom that's
38:40coming. It's not the same as this
38:42kingdom down here. You will know as you
38:44are known. You're going to know it was
38:46me and I'm going to know it was you. But
38:48we're not going to still be driven by
38:49the same procreation forces that exist
38:52on this earth."
38:54But authority in a kingdom flows
38:56downward like gravity. It structures
38:59chaos into cosmos. God's kingdom has a
39:02spine. And sometimes people come and try
39:05to press up against it. And that's all
39:07right. We just stand up.
39:10Doesn't mean we're obnoxious, but we got
39:13backbone. In a world where everybody is
39:15a critic on the on social media, it's
39:18hard to be a leader. And the culture is
39:21a drift without mooring because there's
39:23fatherless homes. The prisons are full
39:26of po people who didn't have a father at
39:29home. Oh, they had a sperm donor,
39:33but they didn't have a father.
39:36Just because you're a male doesn't mean
39:38you're a man.
39:40>> You've got to understand that we have a
39:42responsibility on us.
39:45>> We've got to understand that we're
39:46there.
39:49>> We have got to be there for them in
39:51their lowlands and their valleys and
39:53their tough times. When your little girl
39:56goes through her first break breakup,
39:58daddy, you need to go grab her and hold
40:01her close and say, "Baby, you're the
40:04most beautiful thing in all the world."
40:06And she won't receive it really good for
40:08you, but at least you're there.
40:11>> She'll want it. I had never been a
40:13little girl with a breakup,
40:17>> but I've been a little boy with a
40:18breakup. And when that thing right there
40:20broke up with me, you know where I ran?
40:22I ran to my big sister.
40:27They were preaching a revival in Dallas,
40:29Texas. And I found enough money to drive
40:31from Jackson, Mississippi to Dallas,
40:33Texas. And I slept on the floor in front
40:35of the couch in their trailer because I
40:38was going to be with some woman that
40:39could help me know I was still valuable
40:42because she didn't think I was.
40:49And I owe you Melody for that weekend
40:52because I needed somebody to love me
40:55right then. And every one of you are
40:57going to go through that. And you
40:59fathers need to be there for them. Be
41:02there. Be present. Don't say, "I'm
41:05busy." Be present. Nothing's more
41:08important than your kids. And nothing's
41:10more important than your wife even over
41:13your kids.
41:15>> Your kids are going to grow up and leave
41:17you.
41:18And when they do, don't act like it's a
41:21surprise.
41:24>> The Bible said, "A man shall leave
41:26mother and father." So all you mothers
41:29with sons, you better be ready to let
41:32them go.
41:34>> I've seen some mothers that won't let
41:36their son go to his wife.
41:38>> They think they're their son supposed to
41:40be theirs the rest of your life. Just
41:42because you weren't able to be the kind
41:44of woman that a man wanted to live with
41:47>> doesn't mean you get to own the next man
41:49the rest of your life.
41:53Oh, I'm saucy. I've been away.
41:57I've been away.
42:02I've been away.
42:06Lord, help me. Calm me down. I've been
42:08wrestling grizzlies. I'm telling you. I
42:10got video of me from 20 ft from a
42:12grizzly. It was very dangerous and I was
42:15trying to rescue somebody else. Good
42:16night. I But I had bear spray. Then I
42:19went back to my I went back and looked
42:21on you.
42:25It would have been you if that bear
42:28would have come at me cuz it was a s and
42:30they had a she had a baby right there.
42:33It was not good. It was not good. And we
42:37were on our feet on the ground in
42:39Yellowstone and I thought, "We better
42:41get back.
42:44I saw that video on YouTube where bear
42:48spray didn't stop them."
42:51Glory. Yeah. I've been with bison like
42:54this far away from me in the truck.
42:57Bison that the top of their top of a
42:59bison's back is taller than the tallest
43:01truck out in that yard. It's
43:03unbelievable how big those beasts are.
43:06That sucker walked right beside my truck
43:08and I was renting that thing.
43:15I don't want to call State Farm.
43:19Just keep keep on walking.
43:23And here I come back to the cathedral
43:25full of all this sauce.
43:36The kingdom is not just a place. It's a
43:39story. The mystery of the kingdom is
43:41that it blooms and it's growing and it's
43:44having work and it stands in the midst
43:46of external pressures and the midst of
43:48internal anxiety and the kingdom cannot
43:51be stopped. We'll always have tears
43:54among us. We'll always have offenders
43:56among us. Don't be surprised if you
43:59happen to find an offender at the
44:01church. Don't leave this church saying
44:03that church is filled with offenders.
44:07>> Don't do that. Well, they talk about
44:10church hurt. How about work hurt?
44:15>> My father hurt me.
44:19But I wasn't as brave as Ethan and
44:22Scarlet who literally told me now that
44:25they would stuff papers down their
44:29Did you ever do that, Winter?
44:31>> You didn't do that. You did. Where's the
44:33truth?
44:37>> You knew. Oh, Scarlet put it in there
44:38for you.
44:42>> Listen. I hurt those children.
44:45And I know you can't play with that word
44:47hurt, okay? But I'm tired of the
44:49offended people ruling the way I talk
44:51all the time.
44:52>> I'm tired of them defining what the
44:54dictionary means. I put a spanking on
44:57them that made them cry.
45:01>> And then I went in and gave them a hug
45:03that made them cry harder
45:06>> because they knew I loved them so hard.
45:08And I told them that good old thing,
45:10this hurts me more than it hurts you.
45:19And one of the most joyous things, now
45:21listen, some things that I I I wasn't
45:24perfect. I can promise you that every
45:27time I spanked them a little too hard
45:29once and you know I felt bad and they
45:32forgave me. I didn't mean to.
45:36It's those things that you walk through
45:38life folks, nobody in this house is
45:40perfect. So when people act like they
45:42own the perfect ground, walk up and say,
45:44"I'm tired of all your mess."
45:46>> Nobody lives in perfect ground.
45:49>> So you're acting like you got it all
45:51figured out. Get at the back of a long
45:53line because all of us have some mess in
45:55our life. That's the reason we have an
45:57altar at the church. And when we go to
45:59that altar, we say, "Lord, work me over.
46:03I want to be formed into your likeness
46:06and made into your image."
46:09>> Hallelujah.
46:10>> Sister's come. The Bible talks about how
46:13this kingdom is a kingdom that's made by
46:15the Holy Ghost. See, this is why our
46:18church has got to have Holy Ghost in it.
46:19You say, 'Well, we just want chirping
46:21and talking in the language nobody
46:22understood. No, no, no, no. It's not
46:24about talking in tongues. Yes, that's
46:26the initial sign and that is the
46:28expression of the soul speak that the
46:30Bible tells us is the language of
46:31angels. But it's about that power of the
46:34Holy Ghost that works in us, that
46:38changes us. Listen to this. Here's
46:41what's crazy. When you read the
46:42scripture and you get it down, Matthew
46:4512:31, "Wherefore I say unto you, all
46:47manner of sin and blasphemy, all manner
46:50of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven
46:53unto men,
46:55but the blasphemy
46:57against the Holy Ghost shall not be
47:00forgiven unto men." Now watch this
47:04because we're talking about the Holy
47:05Ghost and there is a distinction here
47:07between the Holy Ghost and Jesus.
47:11Now for all those who are saying well
47:12that means there's a trinity. No that
47:14means there's a biety
47:17says nothing about the father so there
47:19must be only two.
47:22No it's distinguishing the roles.
47:25When you say son of god you're not
47:28saying god the son.
47:31Son of god means it's the flesh that
47:34came among us. By the way he's not here
47:36anymore.
47:38If he was, I'd catch a plane tomorrow
47:40morning and get wherever he was at and
47:42stand in line for five days just so I
47:45could get his autograph.
47:47He came back as the spirit. That's how I
47:51can be omnipresent everywhere at the
47:53same time.
47:55And whosoever speaketh the a word
47:57against the son of man, that's Jesus, it
48:00shall be forgiven him. So you want to
48:02talk about Jesus,
48:05good or bad, you can be forgiven. All
48:08those that are out there saying Jesus
48:10Christ's name all the time in negative
48:12ways, if you say a word against him, it
48:15shall be forgiven him. But whoso it
48:18shall be forgiven him. Are you reading
48:22right?
48:27>> Uh are you in verse 32?
48:31You're you're you need to read verse 32
48:33at the top.
48:35>> What does it say?
48:37>> Okay, I want to correct you.
48:40>> See, this is how people get messed up.
48:42And listen, I know that sweetheart right
48:43there. That's Nellm, one of the best
48:45graduates we ever had. She was seeing
48:47what's coming
48:50because there's one that will not be
48:51forgiven you. Not the word against
48:54Jesus,
48:56but whosoever speaketh against
48:59the Holy Ghost. Now, why isn't everybody
49:02out there cussing? Oh, Holy Ghost.
49:06I'm tired of Holy Ghost. You.
49:10Why? Because Holy Ghost is the active
49:13presence of God in the earth right now.
49:17[Music]
49:20It's what comes over your soul while
49:21you're worshiping.
49:24And when you say, "I despise it when I
49:27feel his presence."
49:31This is how people commit the sin that's
49:33in unforgivable.
49:35Because they grieve.
49:38The Holy Ghost comes around and they
49:41spit.
49:42They feel the presence of God and they
49:44say, "Oh, that emotionalism's coming
49:46again." No, that's not the church
49:49putting somebody on the organ to make
49:51you feel churchy. It's the presence of
49:54God that's got to be evident in any
49:56powerful church service. And when that
50:00spirit comes, that's when you start
50:03responding. The Bible says, "Grieve not
50:06the spirit of God." When you feel it
50:10come on you,
50:13Lord, I love you.
50:15We all go through seasons you don't feel
50:16it. I'm telling you, it's crazy how you
50:19go through you can go through almost
50:21months sometimes and not feel his
50:22presence. You worship him just the same
50:25and it's like it's a dry season.
50:29You you're just walking through it, but
50:31you still know what to respect
50:34>> and you know, I'm not going to grieve
50:37the presence of God. And so he says,
50:41quench not the spirit. I remember my
50:44dad, that's when he started practicing
50:46dancing in the presence of the Lord is
50:49because he felt like the Lord had told
50:51him to dance in the church service. He
50:52had felt the move of God and the Lord
50:54said, "Why don't you dance before me?"
50:56And my dad wouldn't do it for pride. And
50:58I was little when I remember watching
51:00him do this. And he went home and
51:02repented. Uh, I didn't see him repent,
51:04but I saw the result of it because we
51:06had a record player and he put on gospel
51:09music, a record player in the living
51:11room and he turned it into a game. For
51:13me as a kid, but for him it wasn't a
51:17game. He practiced his dance step and it
51:21wasn't as fancy as most of y'all's. It
51:24was just this one, two, one, two, one,
51:27two one two.
51:31And that was his dance. Now, he got a
51:33little more wild as he got older, as he
51:36felt more comfortable. I mean, he's a
51:38college educated man. College educated
51:40people don't do this unless
51:46you don't want to quench
51:49the Holy Ghost.
51:51And if the Lord wants my dance,
51:54[Music]
52:01I'm going to dance in his presence.
52:03>> If he wants my tears
52:06and they're there, I'm going to give
52:07them to him. Why? Because this is
52:11kingdom. It's not a democracy.
52:14It's a kingdom with the king. He doesn't
52:17want soundbite sermons. He wants us to
52:20learn about mustard seeds that become
52:23shelters. He doesn't want us to fall
52:27prey to little things that don't look
52:30like much. He wants to say it's like
52:33leaven. You just let it keep working
52:37because you can't see it. It's a kingdom
52:40of Abraham seeing stars without number.
52:44Of Moses on a mountain covered with
52:47smoke. of David singing songs upon a
52:52harp, of a prophet's weeping in a
52:55dungeon, a kingdom of an empty tomb and
53:00a risen Lord. You know what the Bible
53:02says? This is the rest wherein the weary
53:08shall find rest.
53:11If you have himnels in your seat, I
53:13invite you to stand with me. I want to
53:16sing the battle hymn of the republic
53:17tonight.
53:20The history of this song was that it was
53:22a song written for different reasons.
53:24The tune and the words, the tune was the
53:27same, but the words were different.
53:30There was one time that the words were
53:33on the side of slavery.
53:37They were words that were evil words.
53:40But a man took this and put the
53:43prophecies of Isaiah and John the
53:45Revelator to it and said, "I refuse to
53:48let that tune be owned by the terror of
53:52slavery, and I'm going to rewrite that
53:55tune and put it out." And the words were
53:59written by Julia Ward How when she said,
54:04"Mine eyes have seen the glory of the
54:08coming of the Lord. He is trampling out
54:13the vintage where the grapes of wrath
54:17are stored. He hath loosed the faithful
54:21lightning of his terrible swift sword.
54:26His truth is marching
54:31on.
54:34Oh glory,
54:36glory hallelujah.
54:39[Music]
54:42Glory,
54:43glory hallelujah.
54:46[Music]
54:49Glory,
54:51glory hallelujah.
54:55His truth is maring
54:59on.
55:02I have seen him in the watchfires of a
55:06hund circling camps. They have builded
55:10him and altered in the evening dues and
55:15damps. I can read his righteous sentence
55:19by the dim and flaring lamps. His truth
55:25is marching
55:27on.
55:29Glorious.
55:31Glory.
55:32Glory. Hallelujah.
55:38Glory.
55:39Glory. Hallelujah.
55:45Glory.
55:47Glory. Hallelujah.
55:50His
55:52truth is maring
55:55on.
55:58He has sounded forth the trumpet that
56:02shall never sound retreat. He is sifting
56:07out the hearts of men before his
56:10judgment seat. Oh, be swift my soul to
56:15answer. Be jubilant my feet. His truth
56:21is marching
56:23on.
56:25Oh yes. Glory.
56:28Glory. Hallelujah.
56:31Hallelujah.
56:34Glory.
56:36Glory. Hallelujah.
56:41Glory.
56:43Glory. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
56:47His truth is marching
56:52on
56:54in the beauty of the liies. Christ was
56:59born across the sea with a glory in his
57:04bosom that transfigures you and me. As
57:09he died to make men holy, let us die to
57:14make it free. His truth is maring
57:20on.
57:22Yes. Oh glory,
57:25glory hallelujah.
57:30Glory,
57:32glory hallelujah.
57:36>> Yes. Glory,
57:39glory, hallelujah. Hallelujah.
57:44His truth is my
57:48>> Let's lift our hands and pledge our
57:50allegiance to the Lord right now. Let's
57:53pledge our heart to the King of glory,
57:56to the Lord of Lords, and the King of
57:59Kings. I want to live in a kingdom, a
58:02kingdom of God, a kingdom where I've got
58:05to interrogate myself.
58:08I've got to ask myself, am I living
58:11clean? Am I living humble? Am I living
58:14holy? Am I being transformed by the
58:18renewing of my mind?
58:20Am I being conformed to this world? Or
58:23am I being transformed unto God? Oh
58:28Lord, I want to serve you all the days
58:31of my life. Oh, glory. Why don't we come
58:35to this altar for a few minutes of
58:37consecration?
58:39Just a few minutes of consecration.
58:42Oh Lord, I love you Jesus. I love you,
58:45Jesus. Yes.
58:47Glory,
58:49glory hallelujah.
58:54Oh glory
58:56glory hallelujah.
58:59>> Yes. Glory,
59:03glory hallelujah.
59:07His truth is marching.
59:11Oh,
59:13[Music]
59:15glory,
59:16glory, hallelujah. Hallelujah.
59:21Oh glory glory glory hallelujah
59:25hallelujah.
59:27Oh glory glory glory hallelujah.
59:32>> Hallelujah.
59:34His truth is marching
59:39on.
59:41I love you, Jesus.
59:43>> Lord,
59:43>> I will serve you all the days of my
59:45life. I am not king, you are. I am not
59:50Lord, you are. I'm not the boss, you
59:54are. I am an underservant
59:57serving unto you, oh Lord. Your word
60:00rules over my mind. Your word rules over
60:03my decisions. Your word rules over my
60:06worship. Your word rules over my prayer.
60:09I'm subject to the order and the plan of
60:12God. Oh Lord, we are people who
60:16understand authority. That's the reason
60:18we are under authority. We only get
60:21authority because we're under authority.
60:24Oh God, and that authority is given by
60:27you. We walk, oh Lord, carefully to be
60:31pleasing to you, carefully to be holy
60:34before you. We don't want to cast our
60:37pearls before swine. We don't want to
60:40take that which was given for the
60:42children and give it to dogs, oh Lord.
60:45We want, oh Lord, to make sure we know
60:48how to measure the goodness of your way,
60:51the fullness of your way, the truth of
60:54your way. We know we're going to be
60:55judged by the words we say. We know
60:58we're going to be judged by the way we
61:00walk. Lord Lord, I worship you. I
61:04worship you. I worship you, Lord. I
61:08praise your name, Lord. Hallelujah.
61:11Hallelujah.
61:13Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I worship you,
61:16Lord. I worship you, Lord. I want to
61:19consider the words of my mouth. I want
61:22to consider the meditations of my heart.
61:24I want to understand how I treat your
61:26people, how I talk to your people. Oh
61:29Lord, if I tell them not to be concerned
61:32about things that they ought to be
61:34concerned about, then I'm going to be
61:36judged for it. If I wink at sin, then
61:39I'm going to be judged for it. But if I
61:41proclaim your word, oh Lord, if I give
61:44it, oh God, with clarity and truth, then
61:46we can go and interrogate oursel in your
61:49altar. Hallelujah. Interrogate ourself
61:52in your presence. I want to judge myself
61:55lest I am judged. I want to make sure
61:58that my words are righteous. My thoughts
62:01are righteous. My hands do goodness. My
62:05feet don't go to shed blood, but they
62:07come to build up, to edify, to build up
62:11the house of God, to provoke one another
62:14unto good works
62:17in Jesus name.
62:20In Jesus name.
62:22[Music]
62:25I want to say it one more time. Let me
62:27read verse 32 of chapter 12. Whosoever
62:30speaketh the word against the son of
62:32man, it shall be forgiven him. But
62:34whosoever speaketh against the Holy
62:36Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him,
62:38neither in this world, neither in the
62:41world to come. Either make the tree good
62:45and his fruit good, or else make the
62:49tree corrupt and his fruit corrupt. For
62:52the tree is known by his fruit.
62:58That's strong medicine. But I'm not here
63:00to judge your tree. You've got to judge
63:04your own fruit.
63:07Oh generation of vipers, this is Jesus.
63:10Oh generation of vipers, how can you
63:12being evil speak good things?
63:16For out of the abundance of the heart,
63:18the mouth speaketh.
63:20A good man out of the good treasure of
63:22his heart bringeth forth good things.
63:26And an evil man out of the evil
63:29treasure.
63:31Those two words seem like an oxymoron,
63:33but to the evil, their tactics and their
63:37strategys are treasured.
63:40[Music]
63:41an evil man out of the evil treasure.
63:44They can go among the church and take
63:46advantage of people.
63:49They don't mind taking advantage of
63:51people in the church. Why? Because they
63:53have a treasure. It's evil, but it's
63:55still treasured.
63:57It bringeth forth evil things. But I say
64:00unto you, this is not Oh Lord, we need
64:03some preachers to hear this message
64:04today. There's some preachers out there
64:07cussing.
64:09There's people that are out there saying
64:10profane things and they think, "Well, it
64:12doesn't matter." You know, this is the
64:14grace dispensation.
64:16The Bible says, "An evil man out of the
64:19evil treasure bringeth forth evil
64:21things. But I say unto you that every
64:25idle word that men shall speak, they
64:29shall give account thereof."
64:33when
64:36now sometimes my wife will check me up
64:41and sometimes I'll check her up.
64:44You know how some people say, "Oh my
64:46god,
64:49please don't do that.
64:52Oh my god, you're calling on him in
64:54vain."
64:56It's an expression.
64:58I mean, say, "My goodness." You say,
65:00"Well, that's a euphemism. It's better
65:02than my God.
65:07Every
65:09idol word that men shall speak, they
65:14shall give account thereof
65:17in the day of judgment. My wife helps
65:20me. She's my helper in the car.
65:25I help her.
65:28Good friends help good friends.
65:33I play golf with guys that after a bad
65:35shot they'll say Jesus.
65:40I look at that as an idle vain use of
65:43his name.
65:44So my gentle way of letting them know
65:47there's no golf shot worth calling on
65:50him for. I'll say that's a wonderful
65:54savior.
65:57and my kind little statement
66:00gently judge jud adjusts them. It may
66:03not, but at least I got my part out.
66:06That's what you do for friends.
66:09Once again, if it's not your
66:10jurisdiction, don't be claiming
66:12everything that's your not your
66:14jurisdiction. All right?
66:16>> I don't want any of y'all wives coming
66:18and correcting me. Leave that to this
66:20one. She's good professional at it.
66:23Highly paid right there.
66:27not
66:29highly loved.
66:32>> For by thy words, hear it. This is the
66:35word of God. This is in red. And isn't
66:38it something how I only believe the red,
66:40but they'll go around and cuss all the
66:41time? Well, this one's in red.
66:44For by thy words thou shalt be
66:48justified.
66:52and by thy words
66:54thou shalt be condemned.
66:58Sometimes we all say words of doubt,
67:03prejudice,
67:05prejudging.
67:06Prejudice is not always racial.
67:09Prejudice means you prejudge before
67:11you've got all the facts. You don't
67:13know, so you prejudge.
67:16And we need to turn those words that are
67:20worthy of condemnation
67:23into being justified. How? Wash me,
67:26Lord.
67:28Let the words of my mouth
67:30and the meditation of my heart be
67:33acceptable in thy sight,
67:36my strength,
67:38my strength,
67:40my redeemer.
67:42I will speak the glad tidings of his
67:46kingdom.
67:48Sometimes you don't even believe the
67:50good words that you're speaking. Speak
67:52them anyway.
67:54It's a beautiful day.
68:00When you feel like you're cursed,
68:03say, "I am blessed."
68:07>> When you feel like you're abandoned,
68:09say, "He is with me.
68:12everywhere I go.
68:15Thank you Lord for your love and grace.
68:16Thank you for this people. Keep us
68:18according to the measure of your grace.
68:21Bring us again at the appointed hour.
68:23Fill us with your way in Jesus precious
68:25name I pray. Greet one another in the
68:28love of Christ. Forgive me if I offended
68:30anybody. You're dismissed in the name of
68:32Jesus Christ.
